  • Jason Sanders A Low Level Option In Week 12

    Headshot for Jason Sanders

Miami Dolphins kicker Jason Sanders finally got some more opportunities in Week 11 and turned it into double-digit fantasy points for the first time since Week 3. That earlier game came from 10 extra points against the Broncos, so his last double-digit point with actual field goal attempts was in Week 1. He made two of his three attempts and made both extra points against the Raiders because the offense seemed to stall quite a lot. Against the New York Jets in Week 12, the offense has a greater chance at stalling in field goal range which gives Sanders some value this time. He can be considered a lower-level option with some upside since the Jets have kept opponents under 20 points in about half of their games this season.

  • Jason Sanders Better Left On The Bench In Week 11

    Headshot for Jason Sanders

Miami Dolphins kicker Jason Sanders has kicked a total of just nine field goals this season and has made seven of them. In comparison, he's kicked 37 extra points and made 36 of those. His fantasy points are mainly coming from extra points as the Dolphins' offense has been a touchdown machine. This trend shouldn't be much different against the Las Vegas Raiders as the Dolphins should be able to gash the defense on the ground and even pass over top of it at any given chance. Sanders isn't on the fantasy radar right now as there are kickers getting a lot more opportunities on the waiver wire.

  • Jason Sanders Not A Trustworthy Option In Week 9

    Headshot for Jason Sanders

Miami Dolphins kicker Jason Sanders made his lone field goal attempt from 30 yards out against the New England Patriots in Week 8 and he also made all four extra point attempts. He's now made 34 of his 35 extra points and seven of his nine field goal attempts. Sanders has only attempted more than one field goal in a game twice this year and that was in Weeks 1 and 2. There are better options on the waiver wire that attempt more field goals on a regular basis than Sanders. At this point, he's not a trustworthy fantasy option until he starts seeing more opportunities.

  • NFL Restructures: Dawkins, Sanders, Byard

    Headshot for Kevin Byard

Here are a few details on recent contract restructures around the NFL: Last week, the Bills and left tackle Dion Dawkins agreed to a restructured deal to help create some cap space, according to ESPN’s Field Yates. Buffalo converted $5.18MM of Dawkins’ 2023 base salary into a signing bonus, clearing up $3.9MM of cap space. […]

  • Jason Sanders Looking For More Opportunities In Week 8

    Headshot for Jason Sanders

Miami Dolphins kicker Jason Sanders knocked through his only field goal attempt of the game in Week 7 against the Philadelphia Eagles while making both of his extra-point attempts as well. He now hasn't missed a field goal since Week 2 against the New England Patriots, which happens to be the matchup waiting for him in Week 8. The Patriots defense does have a habit of slowing down the Dolphins offense and Sanders did get three field goal attempts in their prior matchup. He's likely looking at the same sort of work in Week 8 and should be considered a mid-level option.

  • Jason Sanders Hard To Trust In Week 7

    Headshot for Jason Sanders

Miami Dolphins kicker Jason Sanders saw another week where he didn't even attempt a field goal but put up some points through six extra-point attempts. He's only gotten the chance to kick seven field goals through six games so far and he's knocked in five of them. His accuracy hasn't been the issue, he just hasn't seen the opportunities because the Dolphins offense is a touchdown machine. If Sanders finally gets more field goal chances, then he'd be more relevant, but right now he's the 20th-ranked kicker in fantasy. There are better options on the waiver wire than Sanders at this moment.

  • Jason Sanders Remains A Solid Option In Week 6

    Headshot for Jason Sanders

Miami Dolphins kicker Jason Sanders has seen a very inconsistent amount of field goal work since the team's offense has been able to put up so many touchdowns. With all of that scoring, he is at least raking in points off of extra-point attempts like when he netted 10 fantasy points in Week 3. The offense is likely to score in bunches against the Panthers in Week 6, but all he needs is one or two field goals to go with the extra points to make his fantasy outing worthwhile. Fantasy managers can play Sanders as a mid-level option with some upside to get into double-digit fantasy points.

  • Jason Sanders Shows Mid-Level Appeal In Week 5

    Headshot for Jason Sanders

Miami Dolphins kicker Jason Sanders didn't attempt any field goals for the second straight week in Week 4 while knocking down both of his extra-point attempts. He's currently 4-for-6 on field goals for the season so far and 18-for-19 on extra points. Week 5 should be more of a return to normalcy after the offense struggled against Buffalo and exploded for 70 points against Denver in the week prior. A regular game script benefits Sanders the most as he should see some more field goal opportunities. He presents as a solid streaming option for kickers on bye but seems to be shaky as a rest-of-season addition.

  • Jason Sanders A Locked-In Fantasy Starter

    Headshot for Jason Sanders

Miami Dolphins kicker Jason Sanders managed to etch his name into the history books during Week 3's 70-point barrage versus the Denver Broncos, breaking the NFL record for most extra points in a single game (10). Miami's blazing-hot offense has seen the 27-year-old attempt only six field goals (four makes) with a league-high 17 extra points. The Dolphins may need to keep scoring touchdowns at a frenetic pace to match the equally impressive Buffalo Bills offense in Week 4. Even so, Sanders could be summoned for more action in what projects to be a neutral scoring environment that may not see game script glaringly oppose either side at any point. The former All-Pro is a top-notch option for Sunday's probable shootout.

  • Jason Sanders A Low-End Play In Week 3

    Headshot for Jason Sanders

Miami Dolphins kicker Jason Sanders is on the lower end of the top-12 kicking options heading into Week 3 against the Denver Broncos. He posted a great game in Week 1 during the shootout against the Chargers but only made one of his three field goal attempts in Week 2 against the Patriots. Sanders seems to be more relevant in streaming situations when the Dolphins are in for a high-scoring affair. The Broncos don't have a great defense but kickers have only averaged seven fantasy points per game against them so far. There are better options out there, but Sanders isn't the worst play this week.

  • Jason Sanders Misses Two Field Goals Against Patriots

    Headshot for Jason Sanders

Miami Dolphins kicker Jason Sanders has seen better games as he proved in Week 1. In Week 2, however, he missed two of his three field goal attempts but salvaged a few points by knocking through all three of his extra points. The good news is that Sanders made the closer field goal within 39 yards, but he had a 49-yarder that was blocked and a 55-yarder that missed wide left. The upside for Sanders is the fact that he continues to get a solid volume of opportunities since the Dolphins offense can move the ball more often than not. He should still be considered a mid-level option at kicker heading into Week 3.

  • Jason Sanders - Week 2 Outlook for Fantasy Football

    Headshot for Jason Sanders

Miami Dolphins kicker Jason Sanders saw a ton of action in the team's Week 1 win over the Los Angeles Chargers. He put through all three of his field goal attempts and three out of four extra points. While the offense is good enough to move the ball into field goal territory, the matchup against the Patriots doesn't project the same amount of action as he saw in Week 1. Sanders is still a mid-level option at kicker, but his 14 fantasy points from their first game doesn't seem as likely this time around.

  • Jason Sanders Productive Despite Missed Extra Point

    Headshot for Jason Sanders

Miami Dolphins kicker Jason Sanders was relatively productive on Sunday, going 3-for-3 on field goals and 3-for-4 on extra points. His longest kick came from 45 yards out. Sanders' performance benefitted from a shootout-style game between Miami and Los Angeles. He should be viewed as a fringe top-12 fantasy kicker as long as the Dolphins continue to score points.

  • Jason Sanders A Fringe Fantasy Option In Week 1

    Headshot for Jason Sanders

Miami Dolphins kicker Jason Sanders is a borderline top-12 fantasy kicker heading into Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Chargers. Sanders was solid at times last season, but never enough to solidify himself as a stable fantasy option week in and week out. Heading into the 2023 campaign, Sanders' upside gets a boost thanks to Miami's high expectations on offense. With that said, though, head coach Mike McDaniel isn't afraid to go for it on fourth-and-short, taking Sanders' leg out of the game at times. If you're planning to swing for the fences with your kicker, you should probably deploy someone other than Sanders. He'll likely gain fantasy relevance as injuries and bye weeks start to take their toll on the crop of available kickers.
