  • Ronald Jones II Has Upside Against Green Bay

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Ronald Jones II (quadriceps) said he's "good" after returning last week from a quadriceps injury in a win over New Orleans. Jones has since gotten in two limited practice sessions and seems poised to be out there again on Sunday against Green Bay. While he's likely looking at a timeshare with Leonard Fournette, Jones has the upside to be the better valued running back this weekend in DFS. He only had 13 carries last week but ran hard against the Saints' stingy run defense- it's also worth noting that he had 20+ carries in a game three times this season, one of which was against the Packers. Jones is riskier than Fournette but could provide more bang for your buck, especially if he runs like he did last week.

  • Ronald Jones II, Mike Evans, Chris Godwin Practice Wednesday

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Ronald Jones II (quadriceps) and wide receivers Mike Evans (knee) and Chris Godwin (quadriceps) were all limited participants during Wednesday's practice. Jones was able to practice in a limited fashion last week before ultimately suiting up against the Saints, while Evans' and Godwin's reps are being managed as precautions. Jones has a good matchup against Green Bay's front, though he and Leonard Fournette are trending towards a timeshare after head coach Bruce Arians described them as a "1-2 punch." Meanwhile, Evans will likely tango with star corner Jaire Alexander on the outside, as tough a matchup as any. Godwin is due for a rebound performance after dropping a surefire touchdown last week and could see more targets if Evans struggles and Antonio Brown (knee) is banged up.

  • Ronald Jones II Says He's Good

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Ronald Jones II (quadriceps) said he's all good and is already feeling better than last week when he was questionable heading into the Divisional Round against the Saints. Jones couldn't get loose during pre-game warmups before the wild-card win against Washington and didn't play at all in that contest, but he returned last Sunday and carried the ball 13 times for 62 yards in the 30-20 win over New Orleans. However, he saw four fewer carries than Leonard Fournette. The 23-year-old appears to be close to full health at this point, but his workload should be a concern for those that roster him in the NFC Championship, as Jones and Fournette appear headed for a 50-50 split in touches. Fournette had five catches on six targets for 44 yards and a touchdown against the Saints, too, while Jones missed his only aerial target.

  • Ronald Jones II Picks Up 62 Rushing Yards In Return

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Ronald Jones II carried the ball 13 times for 62 rushing yards in a playoff victory over New Orleans. Jones averaged 4.8 yards per carry and showed some good burst in his first game back from a quad injury. He ripped off a long run that was called back due to a holding penalty and appeared to grimace after the play, though he was never taken out. Jones was out-touched by Fournette 22-13, though he may eat into those carries a bit if he can put in a full practice ahead of next week's NFC title game against Green Bay.

  • Ronald Jones II Receives Green Light To Suit Up Sunday

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Ronald Jones II (quad/finger) has been given the thumbs up to take the field for Sunday's game versus New Orleans, marking his return following a one-game absence. Leonard Fournette served as Tampa's top back during the Wild Card round, but he is likely to see a decreased role with Jones cleared to suit up. Despite being banged up late in the season, Jones came just 22 rushing yards shy of 1,000 on the season, adding seven rushing scores, including one in each of his last two appearances. The Saints Defense has been among the game's elite this year, but for those fantasy managers who are committed to rostering a Bucs running back, Jones is the more coveted option.

  • Ronald Jones II Has Good Chance To Play

After not playing last week, Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Ronald Jones II (quad/finger) went through a walk-through on Saturday and as a good chance to play in Sunday's NFC Divisional Round contest against the New Orleans Saints. Jones would split carries with Leonard Fournette, limiting the fantasy upside for both backs in a game where the Bucs are already facing a tough defensive matchup. Both players would still be playable in DFS, but would see their ceilings drop.

  • Ronald Jones II A Game-Time Decision, Leonard Fournette To Start

Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians said that running back Ronald Jones II (calf, finger) was feeling better on Friday, but he will be a game-time decision against the Saints in the Divisional Round on Sunday. Leonard Fournette will start the game. Jones was limited in practice on Thursday after not playing in the wild-card win over Washington. It sounds like Jones has a chance to see some action against New Orleans, but he won't start and will be an extremely risky fantasy selection in the Divisional Round. Fournette saw the lion's share of backfield work last weekend and had a season-high 19 carries for 93 yards and a touchdown on the ground, adding four catches for 39 yards. He'll have a much tougher go of it this weekend, though, against a Saints Defense that allowed the fewest fantasy points per game to RBs in 2020.

  • Ronald Jones II Doesn't Practice Wednesday

Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians said that running back Ronald Jones II (quadriceps) didn't practice on Wednesday, but he's improving and is hoping to return to practice on Thursday. The 23-year-old couldn't get his leg loose in the wild-card round against Washington and didn't play at all, paving the way for Leonard Fournette to see the lion's share of carries in the backfield. Jones has an extra day to heal up, but he should be considered questionable and a pretty risky fantasy RB with the game against the Saints in the Divisional Round on Sunday night. Both Jones and Fournette will be volatile RBs this weekend against a Saints Defense that allowed the fewest fantasy points per game to the position during the regular season. There's also the possibility that Jones sees fewer snaps on Sunday if he returns to the fold.

  • Ronald Jones II's Status Up In The Air For Divisional Round

Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians said that he doesn't know if running back Ronald Jones II (quadriceps) will be able to play on Sunday in the Divisional Round against the New Orleans Saints. Arians said that Jones was fine last Thursday and Friday but was a little sore. The running back didn't feel like he could "open up" on Saturday, so he didn't play at all despite being active. Consider the 23-year-old highly questionable for now, and even if he's active, he could take a back seat to Leonard Fournette, who racked up 132 total yards and a touchdown in the wild-card win over Washington. Rookie Ke'Shawn Vaughn and veteran LeSean McCoy could have bigger roles behind Fournette if Jones cannot play. The Saints Defense allowed the fewest fantasy points per game to RB2 in 2020, however, so this is an extremely difficult matchup for Tampa's ground game.

  • Ronald Jones II's Status To Be Determined

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Ronald Jones II (quadriceps) couldn't get his leg loose before the wild-card win over the Washington Football Team on Saturday night, and swelling he sustained during pre-game warm-ups forced him to stay on the sidelines for the entire game. Jones didn't exacerbate the injury, but his status for the Divisional Round is to be determined and will likely depend on how much he can do in practice this week. You took a fat zero if you had the 23-year-old in your wild-card lineups this weekend, and he'll be hard to trust again next weekend, even if he's active. Leonard Fournette saw a season-high 19 carries for 93 yards and a touchdown against Washington, adding four catches for 39 yards. The Bucs will face either the Rams or the Saints in the Divisional Round, setting up a tough matchup for Fournette and/or Jones in the next round of the postseason.

  • Ronald Jones II Questionable To Return With Quad Injury

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Ronald Jones II(quadriceps) is questionable to return in Saturday's wild-card playoff game against Washington with a quadriceps injury. Jones injured himself during pre-game warm-ups and may not even wind up playing on Saturday evening. Leonard Fournette will likely serve as the lead back for the remainder of Saturday's contest, with rookie Ke'Shawn Vaughn helping out on passing downs. Veteran LeSean McCoy was ruled out with an illness. Keep an eye out for updates on the Jones situation and if it could impact his availability in the Divisional Round if Tampa advances.

  • Ronald Jones II Could Be Relied On In Playoff Opener

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Ronald Jones IImade his return to the field last week after missing two games due to a finger injury and because of a stint on the COVID-19 list. Jones proved he was healthy enough to play, as he delivered 78 rushing yards and a touchdown in the season finale. He'll be facing a tough task against a Washington Football Team defense in the playoff opener, as they've allowed just one 100-yard rusher this year. Jones had four such games this season, plus, with the Washington offense banged up, this could be the kind of game where Tampa Bay tries to get a lead and lean on the ground game to preserve it. It's certainly a risk to trust Jones in DFS this week, though the reward could be promising.

  • Ronald Jones II Rushes For 78 Yards

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Ronald Jones II finished with 12 carries for 78 yards and a score in Sunday's victory over the Falcons. After returning from a two-game absence due to being put on the COVID list and dealing with a finger injury, Jones proved why he is the lead RB1 on this team by having a solid game. The back has been a capable RB1 when healthy this season and almost finished with 1,000 yards rushing despite missing games.

  • Ronald Jones II An RB2 For Week 17

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Ronald Jones II is an RB2 for Week 17 against the Falcons. The RB has missed the past couple of games due to being on the COVID list and dealing with a finger injury. In his last game in Week 14, Jones had 18 carries for 80 yards and a score and he should see a workhorse role in the season finale. The Falcons are a bit stingy against fantasy backs, but Jones' volume keeps him in the RB2 tier.

Jan 1 · Source via Buccaneers Ronald Jones
  • Ronald Jones II On Track To Play Against Falcons

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Ronald Jones II(finger) is on the right track towards coming off the Reserve/COVID list. This would put Jones in line to play against Atlanta, though it's worth noting that he hasn't practiced since having a procedure done on his broken finger to insert a pin. Wide receiverChris Godwin had the same issue earlier this season and played after missing just one game, so Jones' chances are good. Leonard Fournette was a bit uninspiring as the lead back in his absence, so Jones figures to see the majority of touches if he's active against a Falcons Defense that has been middling against running backs this year. Keep a close eye on Jones' practice status in the lead-up to the regular season finale.

  • Ronald Jones II Officially Ruled Out

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Ronald Jones II (finger) has been officially ruled out for Week 16 against the Lions on Saturday. Jones also remains on the Reserve/COVID-19 list and was doubtful to play heading into this week after having surgery to put a pin into his broken finger before Week 15. Leonard Fournette took hold of Tampa's backfield last week against Atlanta and ran the ball 14 times for 49 yards and two rushing scores while adding three receptions for 16 yards. He could have an even better performance this weekend against a Lions Defense that has allowed the most fantasy points per game to the position, including 17 rushing touchdowns. Fournette will be a strong RB2 play on Saturday, with veteran LeSean McCoy serving in a change-of-pace role. Don't expect Jones to return in Week 17.

Dec 24 · Source via Buccaneers Ronald Jones
  • Ronald Jones II Doubtful For Week 16

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Ronald Jones II(finger) remains on the Reserve/COVID-19 list, and head coach Bruce Arians said that Jones is doubtful for Week 16 against the Lions on Saturday. Jones also had surgery to put a pin in his broken finger last week, so he could be out in Week 17 as well. Fantasy managers shouldn't expect any contributions from Jones for the rest of the 2020 campaign. Leonard Fournette went from being a healthy scratch to the team's lead back in a span of a week with Jones injuring his finger and being put on the COVID-19 list. He had 14 carries for 49 yards and two touchdowns and also caught three passes for 16 yards in the comeback win over the Falcons. Fournette will be a strong RB2 play this Saturday against a Lions team that has allowed the most fantasy points per game to RBs. LeSean McCoy will serve as the change-of-pace back.

  • Buccaneers Put Ronald Jones II On COVID-19 List

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers placed running back Ronald Jones II (finger) on the Reserve/COVID-19 list on Wednesday. Jones' status for Week 15 against the Falcons was already in doubt after he underwent surgery on his fractured pinkie finger this week, so this news all but rules him out. Not only is Jones now doubtful to play, but the Falcons Defense has allowed the fourth-fewest fantasy points per game to running backs this season. If he's officially ruled out, head coach Bruce Arians indicated that Leonard Fournette, who was a healthy scratch in the Week 14 win over the Vikings, would be in line to start against Atlanta, with veteran LeSean McCoy backing him up. If Fournette is the lead guy on Sunday, he'll be a low-end RB2/high-end RB3/flex.

  • Ronald Jones II To Have Surgery On Finger

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Ronald Jones II (finger) will have surgery to have a pin placed in his injured pinkie finger on Tuesday. It's unclear when the injury occurred, as Jones managed to play a full game in the win over the Vikings, but it's an ailment that caused teammate Chris Godwin to miss one contest earlier this season. If Jones is unable to go, the Buccaneers would likely turn to some combination of Leonard Fournette and LeSean McCoy, with the former operating as the lead back. Whether it's Jones or Fournette leading the backfield, it will be a tough matchup against an improved Falcons' front that has allowed the eighth-fewest fantasy points per game to halfbacks.

  • Ronald Jones II Totals 84 Scrimmage Yards And A Score

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Ronald Jones II carried the ball 18 times for 80 yards and a rushing touchdown in the 26-14 win over the Vikings. Jones added a catch for four receiving yards, as he had the backfield to himself with Leonard Fournette inactive. All things considered, it was a bit of a disappointing day for Jones besides when he punched in a goal-line touchdown from one yard out. It remains to be seen if Fournette being inactive is a sign of things to come in this backfield. If so, Jones will have even more upside for the final two rounds of the fantasy playoffs. Either way, the 24-year-old is well-positioned heading into a tricky matchup with the Falcons.

  • Ronald Jones II A Solid RB2 Against Vikings

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Ronald Jones II seems to have taken control of his team's backfield once again ahead of a Week 14 matchup with the Vikings. Jones has exceeded 100 scrimmage yards in two of his last three games, including a 198-yard outburst against the Panthers. Oddly enough, he's been out-snapped by teammate Leonard Fournette in each of the last two weeks, though the latter has failed to do much with the added playing time. Jones should get more chances in a positive game script, which could be his in a game where the Buccaneers are 6.5 point favorites over the Vikings, who have looked unimpressive in their last several games. Fire him up as a solid RB2 with upside if Tampa Bay races out to a lead.

  • Ronald Jones II Posts 103 Scrimmage Yards And A Score

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Ronald Jones II carried the ball nine times for 66 rushing yards and caught one pass for 37 receiving yards and a touchdown. The Buccaneers were playing from behind for much of their loss to Kansas City, which explains why Jones only saw 10 touches. Still, he showcased some serious explosive ability, ripping off a 34-yard run and a 37-yard, catch-and-run touchdown up the sidelines. The 23-year-old has out-touched fellow back Leonard Fournette 44-24 over the last three weeks, though he proved in this game that he doesn't necessarily need the touches to produce. Jones will get a Week 13 bye before a favorable matchup against the Vikings.

  • Ronald Jones II An Upside Flex In Week 12

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Ronald Jones II has a good matchup on tap against the Chiefs in Week 12. Kansas City has allowed the seventh-most rushing yards and the eighth-most receiving yards per game to opposing running backs this year. Jones' snap percentages have been maddening over the last five weeks- 43, 24, 32, 59, and 36 percent. It's quite clear the coaching staff likes what they have with Jones and Leonard Fournette, though there could be enough room for both to have good fantasy days this week in what projects as a high-scoring contest. Jones is best utilized as a high-upside flex play this week.

  • Ronald Jones II Struggles In Week 11

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Ronald Jones II finished with 10 carries for 24 yards in the loss to the Rams on Monday. Jones fell flat after a 192-yard performance last week but ended up with more carries than Leonard Fournette on the bright side. It seems Jones will remain the workhorse back going forward, which makes him the safer option to start. The only problem seems to be consistency, as Jones cannot put together a long string of decent games. He has now rushed for less than 35 yards in four of the past five games, so the RB should be considered a low-end RB2/high-end RB3/flex going forward.

  • Ronald Jones II A Flex Play Against Panthers

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Ronald Jones II gets a favorable matchup in Week 10 against Carolina. After rattling off three straight games with at least 100 yards rushing, Jones II has been held under 50 yards on the ground in three straight contests with a snap count percentage under 50 percent in each. While he is trending in the wrong direction, this is the matchup to get him back on track. The Panthers have allowed the fifth-most fantasy points per game and 11 touchdowns to opposing running backs this year. While Jones II may be out-carried by Leonard Fournette, he should still have a good chance of finding the end zone and being able to do some damage with the touches he does receive. He's a high-end RB3 this week.

Nov 13 · Source via Buccaneers Ronald Jones
  • Ronald Jones II Has Only Three Carries

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Ronald Jones II had only three carries for nine yards along with three receptions for nine yards on four targets in Week 9. The Bucs had to ditch the run game as they fell behind quickly and Jones never had many opportunities in this game. With Leonard Fournette in the mix, both RBs' value takes a bit of a hit going forward.

Nov 8 · Source via Buccaneers Ronald Jones
  • Ronald Jones II A Low-End RB2 For Week 9

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Ronald Jones II is an RB2 this week against the Saints. After having a three-game stretch with over 100 yards, the RB has dropped back down to earth and has only gotten 34 and 23 rushing yards the past two weeks as a result of Leonard Fournette cutting into his production. Because of the committee approach and the Saints allowing the fifth-fewest points to fantasy RBs, only consider Jones a low-end RB2 for this contest.

  • Ronald Jones II Fumbles, Held To 46 Scrimmage Yards

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Ronald Jones II carried the ball seven times for 23 rushing yards and caught four passes for 23 receiving yards in a 25-23 win over the Giants. Jones II had a bad fumble inside his team's 20-yard line, which set up the Giants for a touchdown. This seemed to earn him no favors from head coach Bruce Arians, as fellow back Leonard Fournette out-touched Jones II 18 to 11. Unfortunately for Jones II's fantasy managers, this is a split backfield again that seems to favor Fournette at the moment. To make matters worse, Jones II will face a tough Saints run defense in Week 9.

Nov 3 · Source via Buccaneers Ronald Jones
  • Ronald Jones II A Good Play In Week 8

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Ronald Jones II gets a good matchup against the Giants on Monday Night Football. Jones II ran wild in the absence of Leonard Fournette, picking up over 100 yards rushing in three consecutive games while handling at least 20 touches in each contest. However, Fournette returned healthy last week and out-touched Jones II 17-14, as the latter saw a huge dip in his snap percentage. Still, it appears that the 23-year-old will retain his early-down role for the time being, with head coach Bruce Arians referring to Fournette as more of his "nickel" back. With Tampa Bay projected to be in the lead against the Giants, Jones II will likely get his chances on the ground, making him a low-to-mid RB2.
