  • Ronald Jones II Doesn't Practice On Thursday

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Ronald Jones II (ankle) did not suit up for Thursday's practice. There was some confusion earlier because Jones was at practice without a walking boot. However, he didn't practice with the team and was likely limited to rehab duties. Despite that, it's nice to see Jones out of the walking boot finally. However, it's uncertain if Jones will be able to suit up for Sunday's playoff matchup with the Los Angeles Rams. Fellow running back Leonard Fournette (hamstring) is questionable to play after missing last week's matchup with the Philadelphia Eagles. That means, the Bucs could once again use the combination of Ke'Shawn Vaughn and Giovani Bernard. Neither of them carry high value in terms of streaming, but Bernard is the slightly better DFS option. However, the return of Fournette or Jones would likely end both of their values. Fantasy managers are going to need to stay tuned over the next few days.

  • Ronald Jones II Ditches His Walking Boot

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Ronald Jones II (ankle) was back at practice on Thursday and wasn't in his walking boot as he worked with a trainer. Jones appears to be making progress after sitting out of the wild-card win over the Philadelphia Eagles, but he's fighting an uphill battle to be ready on Sunday to face the Los Angeles Rams in the Divisional Round. Leonard Fournette (hamstring) is making progress and could come off Injured Reserve to play this weekend, while Ke'Shawn Vaughn and Giovani Bernard wait for their opportunity after splitting the backfield touches last weekend. Even if Jones somehow was able to play on Sunday and Fournette missed another game, Vaughn and Bernard would likely still be involved, which would make Jones tough to recommend in DFS contests.

  • Ronald Jones II Would Have Missed Practice Wednesday

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Ronald Jones II (ankle) would not have taken the field for Wednesday's practice as he continues to work his way back from an ankle injury that kept him sidelined during the Divisional Round. When healthy, Jones stands to serve as Tampa's RB1, although Ke'Shawn Vaughn and Giovani Bernard were both able to log rushing touchdowns during the victory over Philadelphia last week. Jones notched double-digit carries in each of his final two regular-season appearances, the first time he did that in back-to-back weeks all year. Fantasy managers firing up DFS lineups will want to check back over the coming days for updates to Jones' status as they become available.

  • Leonard Fournette, Ronald Jones II Remain Question Marks

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running backs Leonard Fournette (hamstring) and Ronald Jones II (ankle) both remain question marks heading into the Divisional Round game against either the Arizona Cardinals or Los Angeles Rams next weekend. Head coach Bruce Arians said the team will have to see if Fournette can go full speed on his hamstring, while Jones isn't cutting yet on his injured ankle. Neither RB played in the wild-card win over the Philadelphia Eagles, and Fournette remains on Injured Reserve. Ke'Shawn Vaughn led the backfield with 17 carries for 53 yards and a touchdown, but Giovani Bernard also had 13 carries for 44 yards and a TD while catching five of seven targets for 39 yards. It's uncertain how the touch and snap share will unfold if Fournette and/or Jones return this week, but it's fair to expect Fournette to see a reduction in workload if he's active.

  • Ronald Jones II Officially Ruled Out For Wild-Card Game

Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians said that running back Ronald Jones II (ankle) has been ruled out for the wild-card game against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday. Meanwhile, Leonard Fournette (hamstring) remains on Injured Reserve and will be a game-time decision if he's activated on Saturday evening. That leaves Ke'Shawn Vaughn and Le'Veon Bell to soak up backfield touches against the Eagles if Fournette isn't activated and given the green light. There's also Giovani Bernard (hip, knee), who could be activated from IR for Sunday's game as well. The bottom line is that we won't really know what Tampa's backfield will look like on Sunday until an hour and a half before the game. The only thing we know for certain is that Jones will be out.

  • Ronald Jones II Misses Another Practice

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Ronald Jones II (ankle) wasn't seen at the portion of practice open to reporters on Thursday, marking his second straight day on the sidelines. Head coach Bruce Arians said on Wednesday that Jones is doubtful to play in Sunday's wild-card game against the Philadelphia Eagles, so fantasy managers should plan to be without him this weekend. Leonard Fournette (hamstring) is back at practice and is expected to be activated from Injured Reserve in order to play on Sunday. If he's active, Fournette should be the Bucs featured back against Philadelphia, but Giovani Bernard (hip, knee), Ke'Shawn Vaughn and Le'Veon Bell could be mixed in a bit more if Fournette needs more breathers. Fournette could be a bargain at DraftKings ($5,600) if he returns to his usual workhorse role on the ground and as a pass-catcher.

  • Ronald Jones II Doubtful For Wild-Card Weekend

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Ronald Jones II (ankle) is considered doubtful to play on Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles, according to head coach Bruce Arians. And even if Jones were somehow able to play on wild-card weekend, he'd be looking at a limited role with Leonard Fournette (hamstring) expected to return from Injured Reserve. The Bucs could also be getting back pass-catching specialist Giovani Bernard (hip, knee) from IR. Jones had 20 carries for 65 yards and a touchdown as the lead back in Week 16 before getting injured in Week 17 and missing the Week 18 regular season finale. The Bucs also have Ke'Shawn Vaughn and Le'Veon Bell for RB depth behind Fournette. Don't plan on having Jones for DFS lineups this weekend.

  • Ronald Jones II Will Miss Week 18 Matchup

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Ronald Jones II (ankle) has been ruled out for Sunday's regular-season finale against the Panthers. Jones was trending in the wrong direction throughout the week -- complete with a walking boot -- but the latest news now confirms that the Bucs' backfield options for Week 18 will be Ke'Shawn Vaughn and Le'Veon Bell. Jones filled in as the starting back for the past two weeks with Leonard Fournette (hamstring) sidelined, amassing 91 yards on 30 carries. Tampa Bay will be attempting to piece their new-look offense together Sunday with no Jones, Fournette, Chris Godwin (knee), or Antonio Brown in the mix. Neither Vaughn nor Bell jumps off the page as a reliable season-long fantasy asset for managers during championship week.

  • Ronald Jones II Not At Thursday's Practice

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Ronald Jones II (ankle) was not seen at practice on Thursday for the second straight day. Jones was seen wearing a walking boot after practice on Wednesday, so he's definitely on the wrong side of questionable heading into the Week 18 regular season finale against the Carolina Panthers. If you're still playing for a fantasy title this week and have Jones in your lineup, you should remove him and go with a backup plan for now. Leonard Fournette (hamstring) won't be back until the playoffs, although Giovani Bernard (calf) is an option to be activated from IR to play on Sunday with Tampa's backfield thinned out. The best bet is that Ke'Shawn Vaughn and Le'Veon Bell split the workload this weekend if Jones doesn't play.

  • Ronald Jones II In A Walking Boot

Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians said that running back Ronald Jones II (ankle) was in a walking boot on Wednesday, which is why he missed practice. However, Arians isn't yet ruling Jones out for Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers in the Week 18 regular season finale. The fact that Jones won't try to run until later this week doesn't bode well for his chances of playing this weekend, though. Leonard Fournette won't return until the playoffs, but Ke'Shawn Vaughn (ribs), who is also dealing with an injury, practiced in full on Wednesday and should be available to play against Carolina. If Jones is limited or out against the Panthers, Vaughn and veteran Le'Veon Bell figure to split the workload.

  • Ronald Jones II Not Present At Practice On Wednesday

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Ronald Jones II (ankle) wasn't present at the open portion of practice Wednesday after leaving Sunday's game early with an injury. Wednesday practices are usually light for Tampa, so we don't want to jump to conclusions yet, but this is a situation to monitor, especially since backup Ke'Shawn Vaughn (ribs) was able to practice. The Bucs have clinched a playoff spot but are playing for seeding and Leonard Fournette (hamstring) has already returned to practice and is expected back for the playoffs, which means this could be the last week as a starter for either Jones or Vaughn. At this point in the week, it seems like Vaughn may be in line for the start and a sizable workload, but things could change come Sunday.

  • Ronald Jones II Injured Sunday Against Jets

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Ronald Jones II (ankle) suffered an ankle injury late in the second half of Sunday's game against the New York Jets and is questionable to return to the contest. Before the injury, Jones had 10 carries for 26 yards and caught his lone target for one yard, so this will go down as a very disappointing performance for his fantasy managers in a great matchup. It's unclear if Jones' injury will keep him from playing in Week 18, but either way, Ke'Shawn Vaughn will be a popular waiver-wire pickup next week for those that are still playing for something in fantasy leagues. Leonard Fournette won't return until the playoffs. If Jones cannot play next week, veteran Le'Veon Bell would have a role behind Vaughn.

  • Ronald Jones II Receives Full Workload

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Ronald Jones II had 20 carries for 65 yards and a touchdown as well as two receptions for 16 yards against the Carolina Panthers. The Buccaneers primarily ran in this game as they took a quick lead and didn't push their depleted passing game, so the former second round pick benefited in the form of massive volume. Moreover, Jones did a decent job with this workload. He's a strong runner and perfectly capable so long starter Leonard Fournette (hamstring) remains sidelined. Furthermore, the former USC Trojan may find himself in a similar game script in his Week 17 matchup against the New York Jets. Going forward, Jones will retain his status as a fringy RB1/2, especially in such a favorable matchup.

  • Ronald Jones II Accumulates 71 Total Yards In Relief

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Ronald Jones II rushed eight times for 63 yards and caught both of his targets for eight yards in Sunday's 9-0 loss to the New Orleans Saints. Buccaneers starting RB Leonard Fournette (hamstring) exited Sunday's defeat in the first half and did not return. Jones took over Tampa Bay's backfield and looked explosive, averaging 7.9 yards per carry in the Week 15 loss. The 24-year-old could have an expanded role and is a mid-range RB2 against the Carolina Panthers in Week 16 if Fournette cannot suit up. Stay tuned.

  • Ronald Jones II - Week 10 Outlook for Fantasy Football

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Ronald Jones II faces a tricky matchup in Week 10 against Washington. Jones has seen 10-plus carries just once this season, with most of his work in that contest coming during the end of a blowout win. Leonard Fournette is the team's preferred choice as the lead back, unless an injury occurs, meaning Jones' best hope is to find the end zone- or receive more rushing attempts if the Buccaneers jump out to a lead. Jones can't be started right now but should still be rostered, given his upside if he were to be the lead back.

  • Bucs Need "Extraordinary Amount" to Move Ronald Jones II

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers would need an "extraordinary amount" to move running back Ronald Jones II, said head coach Bruce Arians. "It would have to be something really, really special because I love the way he's running, and it's just one nick on Leonard (Fournette), and RoJo is the guy again," Arians said. "It's still a great 1-2 punch. It would have to be something extraordinary." Jones has rushed for 194 yards on 44 attempts and a score over eight games in 2021. Leonard Fournette has taken over Tampa Bay's backfield, and with Jones' lack of usage, there were rumors swirling around that the Bucs would move on from the 24-year-old. A change of scenery would only bump Jones' fantasy value, and it remains to be seen if Tampa does deal him by Tuesday's trade deadline. Stay tuned.

  • Ronald Jones II Struggles Against New Orleans

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Ronald Jones II struggled to find running room in Sunday's loss to the Saints. Jones managed to total just 19 scrimmage yards on four touches- as he continues to take a backseat to Leonard Fournette. The 24-year-old is on pace for a career-low total in rushing yards and seemingly isn't close to seizing control of the backfield. Jones' fantasy managers are likely hoping the team reassesses his usage during the upcoming Week 9 bye.

  • Ronald Jones II - Week 8 Outlook for Fantasy Football

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Ronald Jones II will face a tough Saints' defense in Week 8. Jones recorded season-highs in both carries and rushing yards in a lopsided win over the Bears last week. However, the 35-point lead built up by Tampa Bay ensured that they could run out the clock, resulting in more work for Jones. Even if the 24-year-old back sees more volume, a matchup with the Saints isn't one to take advantage of, as they have allowed the fourth-fewest fantasy points per game to running backs. Leave Jones on the bench in Week 8.

  • Ronald Jones II Rushes For Season-High 63 Yards

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Ronald Jones II rushed for a season-high 63 yards on 10 carries in Sunday's blowout win over the Bears. The back hadn't rushed for more than 27 yards in a single contest this season but saw a few more carries than usual against Chicago, which led to his best output. Nevertheless, Leonard Fournette is now the established RB1 on the team, so this performance was likely more of an outlier for Jones than anything. It's best to avoid Jones in fantasy.
