Mike's Thoughts: Very low projected rushing TD, but very high projected receptions, so obviously, a better choice in PPR leagues. The rest of the Chargers RB depth chart is pretty uninspiring, so Ekeler should have a heavy workload. Drafted Ekeler 1.11 (11) in a 1QB 12-team best ball on 8/16.

Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb (calf) missed practice all week and has officially been ruled out for Week 6 against the Arizona Cardinals. Kareem Hunt (wrist) missed two practices this week before returning on Friday, but he may draw a questionable tag for this weekend. Cleveland's backfield is clearly hurting, but Hunt would have clear RB1 upside against Arizona if he's active. If Hunt is out or limited at all, the Browns would be left with some combination of D'Ernest Johnson and rookie Demetric Felton in their backfield. It wouldn't be the ideal situation for a run-first Browns offense trying to knock off the lone undefeated team in the NFL. Stay tuned for Hunt's official status.Oct 15 · Source via Browns Nick Chubb
Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb (calf) wasn't spotted at Friday's practice. Chubb has yet to practice this week, and it sounds like he'll be going down on Friday's report as a 'DNP' as well. There's still a chance he plays after a week of no practice, but that scenario should be considered a longshot. Kareem Hunt (wrist, knee) returned to practice Friday- a good sign for his availability Sunday against the Cardinals. If Chubb is inactive, Hunt would immediately enter the RB1 discussion against an Arizona defense that has ceded the 12th-most rushing yards to the position.Oct 15 · Source via Browns Nick Chubb
Cleveland Browns running backs Kareem Hunt (wrist, knee) and Nick Chubb (calf) both missed practice on Thursday, making it two days in a row that the star runners have not been able to take the field. Hunt was spotted working off to the side while Chubb was not seen at all on Thursday. The Browns have yet to shed much light on the situation, although a second consecutive missed practice indicates that Wednesday's absence was likely more than just a veteran maintenance day for Hunt and Chubb. A return to at least a limited session on Friday would be a step in the right direction for both running backs, so stay tuned to Cleveland's final injury report of the week. If neither can play on Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals, both D'Ernest Johnson and Demetric Felton would be in the mix for backfield carries.Oct 14 · Source via Browns Kareem Hunt Nick Chubb
Cleveland Browns running backs Nick Chubb (calf) and Kareem Hunt (knee, wrist) both sat out of practice on Wednesday. It's unknown if either Chubb or Hunt are in danger of missing Week 6 against the Arizona Cardinals, but we'll continue to monitor their status throughout the week. Chubb had a monster day in the Week 5 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers, carrying the ball 21 times for 161 yards and a touchdown. Hunt still got his, rushing 12 times for 61 yards and two touchdowns while adding five catches for 28 yards. In this run-first offense, both Chubb and Hunt can co-exist and maintain standalone fantasy value. If one or both are unable to play this weekend, D'Ernest Johnson and rookie Demetric Felton would have larger roles against Arizona.Oct 13 · Source via Browns Kareem Hunt Nick Chubb
Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb broke a two-game slump with a big outing against the Los Angeles Chargers in a 47-42 loss in Week 5. After slow outings in Weeks 3 and 4, Chubb carried the ball 21 times for 161 yards and a touchdown while adding a nine-yard reception in the loss. The veteran running back's touchdown was an impressive 52-yard run where he outraced the Los Angeles defense down the right sideline after breaking a couple of tackles. Chubb now has four rushing touchdowns through five games this season and has logged 64 carries over his past three games. He will be a solid fantasy running back in Week 6's home matchup against the Arizona Cardinals.Oct 10 · Source via Browns Nick Chubb
Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb has been overshadowed by backup running back Kareem Hunt in two straight games now. Hunt has scored two touchdowns over that span while Chubb has gone scoreless. The veteran running back will look to find the end zone for the first time since Week 2 on the road against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 5. The Chargers have been middle of the road against opposing running backs this season, allowing the 14th-fewest fantasy points per game to the position through four contests. Chubb should see his normal workload this weekend, but with just four catches this year, he has become an increasingly touchdown-dependent fantasy option. He can be treated as a high-end RB2 for Week 5.Oct 7 · Source via Browns Nick Chubb
Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb was held out of the end zone for the first time all season in Week 3's win over the Chicago Bears. Chubb will look to score his fourth touchdown and start a new streak in a Week 4 road matchup against the Minnesota Vikings. The Vikings have been average against the run thus far, permitting opposing running backs to score the 17th-most fantasy points per game. Chubb should be a big part of the game plan and should hear the team call his number plenty in Week 4. Treat him as a low-end RB1 for Week 4's showdown this Sunday.Sep 30 · Source via Browns Nick Chubb
Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb carried the ball 22 times for 84 yards in a 26-6 win over the Chicago Bears in Week 3. Chubb was not targeted in the passing game in the win. While Chubb's 22 carries were a season-high, the star running back was not able to find the end zone, although he did watch while backup running back Kareem Hunt scored. Chubb is going to have games like this but he remains a high-end fantasy running back thanks to the multiple-touchdown upside he brings whenever he's on the field. Chubb will take on the Minnesota Vikings on the road in Week 4.Sep 26 · Source via Browns Nick Chubb
Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb is off to a fast start this season, posting three rushing touchdowns through two games. He will look to stay hot in Week 3 in a home game against the Chicago Bears. Chicago has been tough on opposing running backs in 2021, holding Joe Mixon to 69 scoreless rushing yards in Week 2 and allowing the fifth-fewest fantasy points per game to opposing running backs through two games. That being said, running the ball is Cleveland's strength and Chubb should see enough touches to finish as an RB1 in fantasy this weekend.Sep 23 · Source via Browns Nick Chubb
Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb got his 2021 season off to a fast start as he scored twice in his team's season opener against the Kansas City Chiefs. The veteran running back should be in line for another excellent performance as he gets set to take on the Houston Texans at home in Week 2. The Browns are installed as 12.5-point home favorites, so the running game should be a primary component of their game plan. Fire Chubb up as a high-end RB1 for his Week 2 matchup against the Texans.Sep 15 · Source via Browns Nick Chubb
Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb draws a favorable matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs for the season opener in Week 1. The last time Chubb saw this Chiefs defense he was quiet, rushing for 69 yards on 13 carries and adding two catches for four yards. That being said, the Chiefs were rather generous to running backs in 2020, allowing the 11th-most fantasy points per game to the position. While Chubb is unlikely to see much work in the passing game, look for Cleveland to lean on him early in the game, especially if they can get a lead. Treat Chubb as a low-end RB1 for Week 1.Sep 8 · Source via Browns Nick Chubb
The Cleveland Browns and running back Nick Chubb have agreed upon a contract extension. The three-year, $36.6 million extension comes with $20 million fully guaranteed and will keep Chubb in Cleveland through the 2024 season. Chubb was the No. 35 pick in the 2018 draft and has been selected to the Pro Bowl twice over his three years in the league. One of the best pure runners in the league, Chubb will continue to form a formidable one-two backfield punch with teammate Kareem Hunt, who was lobbying for the Browns to extend Chubb earlier in the offseason. Chubb can be trusted as a rock-solid RB1 in fantasy drafts for the 2021 season.Jul 31 · Source via Browns Nick Chubb
