  • Marquez Valdes-Scantling Unable To Practice Wednesday

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling (back) was a non-participant during Wednesday's practice due to a back injury that kept him limited Tuesday. Valdes-Scantling sustained the ailment during Week 18, but like his teammates, he received a week of rest during the Wild Card Round. With the announcement that Randall Cobb (groin) will be back in the mix for Saturday's game vs. San Francisco, the Packers' wide receiving corps is getting crowded, with Davante Adams and Allen Lazard still serving as Aaron Rodgers' premier pass-catching options. Fantasy managers deploying DFS lineups will want to check back on Valdes-Scantling's status as the week progresses, as the 27-year-old logged at least 65% of the team's offensive snaps in each game that he appeared from Weeks 10-17.

  • Marquez Valdes-Scantling Limited Tuesday

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling (back), who didn't practice during last week's bye, was limited in practice on Tuesday. Valdes-Scantling injured his back in the Week 18 regular season finale against the Detroit Lions and was rested last week. But the 27-year-old is back on the practice field to begin the week ahead of Saturday's Divisional Round clash against the San Francisco 49ers. MVS will be a boom-or-bust DFS sleeper this week against San Francisco. He had just one game with over 100 receiving yards in 2021 and scored only three times in 11 games, but one of those scores came in Week 3 against the 49ers, when he went for 59 yards on three catches. Valdes-Scantling can disappear for large stretches, though, and he averaged only 2.4 receptions and 39.1 receiving yards per game this season.

  • Marquez Valdes-Scantling Injured In Week 18

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling (back) injured his back in the Week 18 regular season finale against the Detroit Lions on Sunday. Valdes-Scantling played only 15 offensive snaps before leaving the game and wasn't able to haul in his only target in the loss to Detroit. It's unclear exactly how serious his injury is, but the good news is he'll have an extra week to rest before the Packers play their first playoff game. Valdes-Scantling has been a boom-or-bust fantasy receiver this year, averaging 2.4 catches and 39.1 receiving yards in 11 games while finding the end zone three times. If MVS cannot play in two weeks, Allen Lazard, who had two touchdowns against Detroit, would become much more attractive as a low-cost DFS play.

  • Marquez Valdes-Scantling Catches One Pass In Return

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling caught one of three targets for three yards in Sunday's 34-10 win over the Minnesota Vikings. Last Wednesday, he was activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list ahead of Sunday Night's contest against Minnesota. The 27-year-old returned to action but took a backseat as the Packers WR2 to Allen Lazard, who caught six passes for 72 yards and a score. "MVS" has caught 26 passes for 430 yards and three touchdowns over 10 games in 2021. Green Bay has nothing to play for against the Detroit Lions with the No.1 seed locked up; it remains unclear how much playing time Valdes-Scantling will see in Week 18.

  • Packers Activate Marquez Valdes-Scantling From COVID-19 List

The Green Bay Packers activated wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling from the Reserve/COVID-19 list on Wednesday. Valdes-Scantling did not play in last week's win over the Cleveland Browns on Christmas Day, but he will return to action on Sunday night against the division-rival Minnesota Vikings. With MVS out in Week 16, Allen Lazard took advantage with two catches (five targets) for 45 yards and his fifth touchdown of the season. Valdes-Scantling had his best game of the season in Week 11 against the Vikings, catching four passes (10 targets) for 123 yards and a touchdown, and he posted 98 yards and his third TD of the year in his last game in Week 15. MVS will return to being a boom/bust WR4/flex for fantasy managers.

  • Packers Put Marquez Valdes-Scantling On COVID-19 List

The Green Bay Packers placed wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling on the Reserve/COVID-19 list on Tuesday. If Valdes-Scantling tested positive for the virus and is vaccinated, he'll need to be asymptomatic and return a negative test in order to play on Christmas Day against the Cleveland Browns in Week 16. Because of the short week, he'll have one fewer day to get cleared. The 27-year-old caught five of his seven targets for 98 yards and a touchdown in the Week 15 win over the Baltimore Ravens and has weekly boom/bust appeal as a WR4/flex when he's healthy. If MVS doesn't play this week, Allen Lazard will be the No. 2 wideout behind stud Davante Adams. Lazard is worth a speculative addition off the waiver wire.

  • Marquez Valdes-Scantling Comes Up Big In Win Over Ravens

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling caught five of seven targets for 98 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 31-30 win over the Baltimore Ravens. Packers QB Aaron Rodgers connected with "MVS" for an 11-yard touchdown strike in the fourth quarter to give Green Bay a 28-17 lead. The 27-year-old led the Packers in receiving yards and tied Davante Adams with seven targets in the Week 15 win. Despite his impressive performance in Sunday's win, Valdes-Scantling is a boom-or-bust flex for the Christmas Day Game against the Cleveland Browns.

  • Marquez Valdes-Scantling Active Against Ravens

Green Bay Packers wide receivers Marquez Valdes-Scantling (back) and Malik Taylor (abdomen) are both active for the Week 15 contest against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday. Meanwhile, Equanimeous St. Brown (concussion) is out. Valdes-Scantling and Taylor were both considered questionable to play. It's always a bit of a crapshoot when trying to figure out which receiver will be most productive behind target-hot receiver Davante Adams in the Green Bay offense, but MVS does provide some intriguing boom/bust WR4/flex appeal this weekend against an extremely thin Ravens secondary. Veteran cornerback Jimmy Smith landed on the COVID list Sunday, the latest loss for this Ravens defense. The Baltimore D has allowed the second-most passing yards per game (266.1) this year.

  • Marquez Valdes-Scantling Questionable For Week 15

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling (back) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Baltimore Ravens after being limited in practice all week. Receiver Malik Taylor (abdomen) is also questionable, while Equanimeous St. Brown (concussion) is doubtful to play. Valdes-Scantling should be able to suit up and is an intriguing boom/bust WR4/flex in a matchup against a Baltimore secondary that is down to third-string cornerbacks and backup safeties in their secondary. The 27-year-old has seen at least five targets in each of the last three games, including 10 and nine targets in Weeks 11-12, respectively. MVS can disappear for long stretches, but quarterback Aaron Rodgers should have his way with Baltimore's secondary in this one.

  • Marquez Valdes-Scantling Limited Wednesday

Green Bay Packers wide receivers Marquez Valdes-Scantling (back) and Malik Taylor (abdomen) were both limited in Wednesday's practice. Wideout Equanimeous St. Brown (concussion) didn't take part in the practice. As long as Valdes-Scantling and Taylor don't suffer any setbacks in practice later this week, they should be good to go to suit up in Week 15 against the Baltimore Ravens. Valdes-Scantling continues to battle with Allen Lazard as the No. 2 receiver behind star pass-catcher Davante Adams. MVS does have 24 targets in the last three games and had a 100-yard performance (his only one of the season) in Week 11, but he's combined for 70 receiving yards in the last two games and has just two scores in eight games in 2021. He's a boom/bust WR4/flex that could very well boom against a Baltimore secondary that has allowed their fair share of big plays this season.

  • Marquez Valdes-Scantling - Week 14 Outlook for Fantasy Football

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling has been targeted 19 times over his last two games and should continue to see an expanded role with Randall Cobb placed on injured reserve. The 27-year-old has caught 17 passes for 309 yards and two touchdowns over seven games in 2021. Green Bay faces the Chicago Bears in Sunday Night's showdown. Chicago's defense ranks 16th in DVOA against WR2s and allows 10th most fantasy points to wideouts this season. "MVS" averages 19.4 air yards per target, ranks second among all wideouts. Valdes-Scantling is a high-end WR3 and is a boom-or-bust option in Week 14 against the Bears.

  • Marquez Valdes-Scantling Targeted Nine Times In Week 12 Win

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling recorded four receptions on nine targets for 50 yards in Sunday's 36-28 win over the Los Angeles Rams. He tied Davante Adams with nine targets in Week 12. The 27-year-old now has 19 targets over his last two games. Packers wide receiver Randall Cobb (groin) exited in the second half and did not return, "MVS" should continue to see a high volume of targets if Cobb misses time. Valdes-Scantling has caught 17 passes for 309 yards and two touchdowns over seven games in 2021. He's a high-upside stash due to his recent spike in usage and is a WR4/flex against the Chicago Bears in Week 14, following the team's bye in Week 13.

  • Marquez Valdes-Scantling - Week 12 Outlook for Fantasy Football

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling is coming off a monster performance in the Week 11 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. He caught four passes for 123 yards, including a 75-yard touchdown in last Sunday's loss. The 27-year-old led the Packers in targets and owned a whopping 32.3% percent of the team's target shares in Week 11. Teammate WR Allen Lazard (shoulder) is questionable for Sunday's contest against the Los Angeles Rams. The player known as "MVS" is the Packers WR2 and is a boom-or-bust option against a Rams defense that ranks eighth in DVOA against the opposing team's secondary target.

  • Marquez Valdes-Scantling Reels In 75-Yard TD In Week 11 Loss

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling caught 4-of-10 targets for 123 yards and a touchdown during Sunday's 34-31 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. The 27-year-old led the team in targets and receiving yards in the Week 11 loss. Teammate WR Allen Lazard (shoulder) was inactive for Sunday's game, "MVS" saw an uptick in snaps and usage. Valdes-Scantling is Green Bay's biggest home run threat, and Packers QB Aaron Rodgers connected with MVS for a 75-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter to tie the game 31-31. Valdes-Scantling had his best game of the season and topped 100 yards for the first time all year. He will look to build on Sunday's performance in Week 12 against the Los Angeles Rams.

  • Marquez Valdes-Scantling Doesn't Carry An Injury Designation

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling (hip) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Minnesota Vikings. The 27-year-old was a limited participant in Friday's practice, but the shoulder injury wasn't severe enough to keep MVS out for Week 11. Allen Lazard (shoulder) is considered doubtful for Sunday's game; Valdes-Scantling should see an uptick in targets. The South Florida product has caught nine passes for 136 yards and one touchdown over five games this season. Valdes-Scantling is on the flex radar in deep-league formats in Week 11.

Nov 19 · Source via Packers Marquez Valdes-Scantling
  • Marquez Valdes-Scantling Limited On Thursday

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling (hip) was limited in Thursday's practice with a hip injury. The speedy pass-catcher has had a quiet season with nine receptions for 136 yards and one touchdown in just five games this season. Wide receiver Allen Lazard (shoulder) missed his second straight practice on Thursday and the loss of Valdes-Scantling would be big for the Packers. It's good sign that MVS was limited, but managers should keep an eye on his status for Friday's practice. If Lazard and MVS were to miss Week 11, Randall Cobb would see increased snaps with Equanimeous St. Brown and Amari Rodgers also likely to get in the picture. Of those three, Cobb offers the most upside and should be the only receiver that managers consider of the bunch.

  • Marquez Valdes-Scantling Catches One Pass In Week 10 Win

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling caught one of two targets for 41 yards in Sunday's 17-0 win over the Seattle Seahawks. His only reception came in the first quarter when he hauled in a 41 yard-pass to put the Packers in a scoring position. The 27-year-old is the Packers' main downfield threat but has failed to catch more than three passes in any single game this season. "MVS" has caught nine passes for 137 yards and one touchdown over five games in 2021. Valdes-Scantling is a boom-or-bust flex against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 11.

  • Marquez Valdes-Scantling - Week 10 Outlook for Fantasy Football

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling (hamstring) caught two passes for 19 yards in a Week 9 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. The 27-year-old returned last Sunday after missing five weeks due to a hamstring injury. He logged 54% of the offensive snaps, third behind Packers wide receivers Allen Lazard (84%) and Davante Adams (92%), only out snapping Randall Cobb (52%). The Packers will get back star quarterback Aaron Rodgers (COVID-19) in Week 10 against the Seattle Seahawks. Valdes-Scantling caught eight passes for 95 yards and a touchdown over our games this season. Despite Rodgers returning, "MVS" is a boom-or-bust flex in Week 10.

  • Marquez Valdes-Scantling Active For Week 9

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling (hamstring) is active for Sunday's game against the Chiefs, but with quarterback Jordan Love throwing the ball to him and Davante Adams and Allen Lazard also competing for touches, don't expect a ton of production from MVS in his return from Injured Reserve. The Packers will likely rely on the run against a porous Chiefs rushing defense as long as they don't fall behind by too large of a margin.

  • Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Blake Bortles Active For Sunday

The Green Bay Packers will get back wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling (hamstring) for Sunday's contest against the Chiefs, while quarterback Blake Bortles will also be on the active roster after having been elevated from the practice squad. Valdes-Scantling has been sidelined since Week 3, with his return giving Green Bay roughly a complete version of its wideout corps. Bortles' elevation comes as a means of providing Jordan Love with a backup for his first NFL start due to Aaron Rodgers' (COVID-19 protocols) absence. Even with Rodgers under center, Valdes-Scantling is a touchdown-dependent fantasy option and his value is even more murky with Love slinging from the pocket.

  • Marquez Valdes-Scantling Returning To Practice

The Green Bay Packers designated wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling (hamstring) to return from Injured Reserve on Monday. It will open his practice window leading up to the Week 9 game against the Kansas City Chiefs, but it doesn't mean he'll be activated from IR and be active this weekend. The Packers will be getting Allen Lazard back from the COVID-19 list and should get Davante Adams back as well, so MVS won't be on the fantasy radar as anything more than a dart-throw boom/bust WR4/flex in cavernous leagues in what will be a projected shootout against the Chiefs. The 27-year-old hasn't played since Week 3 and had only six catches on 16 targets for 76 yards and one touchdown before his injury landed him on IR.

  • Packers Not Expected To Activate Marquez Valdes-Scantling

The Green Bay Packers are not expected to activate wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling (hamstring) from Injured Reserve before Thursday night's game against the Arizona Cardinals, according to a source. Green Bay will be also be without Davante Adams and Allen Lazard, who are both on the COVID-19 list. As a result, quarterback Aaron Rodgers will surely have a lower fantasy ceiling as a QB1. The Packers will likely involve running backs Aaron Jones and A.J. Dillon more, as well as tight end Robert Tonyan. At wideout, veteran Randall Cobb, Equanimeous St. Brown and rookie Amari Rodgers should operate in three-receiver sets. Juwann Winfree was called up from the practice squad and will give the team extra depth.

  • Marquez Valdes-Scantling Expected To Play Thursday

The current expectation is that Green Bay Packers wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling (hamstring) will be activated from Injured Reserve and play on Thursday night against the Arizona Cardinals, according to a source. It's good news with both Davante Adams and Allen Lazard, the team's top two receivers, unlikely to play this week after they were placed on the COVID-19 list. However, Valdes-Scantling hasn't played since Week 3 and has only six catches on 16 targets for 76 yards and a touchdown in his three games played this year, so don't expect him to have a huge role on offense despite the Packers being short-handed at the position Thursday night. Randall Cobb, Equanimeous St. Brown and rookie Amari Rodgers figures to play mostly in three-receiver sets.

Oct 27 · Source via Packers Marquez Valdes-Scantling
  • Packers Not Ruling Out Marquez Valdes-Scantling For Thursday

Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur isn't ruling out wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling (hamstring) returning from Injured Reserve and playing on Thursday night in Week 8 against the Arizona Cardinals. Green Bay has a bigger need for MVS to return now that both Davante Adams and Allen Lazard, the team's top two receivers this year, are on the COVID-19 list and are unlikely to play this week. Even if Valdes-Scantling were to return, we'd be surprised if he had a big role, as he's missed the last four weeks after catching just six of 16 targets for 76 yards and a touchdown in the first three weeks. Expect Randall Cobb, Equanimeous St. Brown and rookie Amari Rodgers to be quarterback Aaron Rodgers' top three receivers against Arizona, with tight end Robert Tonyan also being more involved.
