Fantasy Advice

Ranking Lamar Jackson at QB5, I mention how bullish I am on Lamar and the whole Ravens offense. Ah, but here is the rub. I also question whether Andrews should be the clear-cut TE2 as the ADP would have us believe. Why? The Ravens finally have good depth at receiver. This removes the narrow tree Andrews enjoyed to rise to prominence. My recommendation is pass on Andrews at or around his current draft cost.

  • Mark Andrews Quiet In Return To The Field

    Headshot for Mark Andrews

Baltimore Ravens tight end Mark Andrews made his long-awaited return in the AFC Championship game after being sidelined since Week 11. He was on a snap count, so it was going to be difficult to post a big game. Andrews ended the game with two catches for 15 yards on two targets. He only posted one other game with fewer than four targets, and that was the game he was injured in against the Cincinnati Bengals. The former All-Pro played in the fewest games of his career this season so that translated to career lows in a lot of the receiving categories. Two years still remain on his contract, so he'll have an off-season to get his ankle stronger and get back to All-Pro form. He'll remain a higher-end draft target next season as well.

  • Ravens Activate TE Mark Andrews From IR

    Headshot for Mark Andrews

As expected, the Ravens will have Mark Andrews available for this weekend’s AFC title game. The All-Pro tight end was activated from injured reserve on Friday, per a team announcement. Andrews returned to practice two weeks ago, leaving open the possibility that he could suit up for Baltimore’s divisional round contest. To little surprise, however, he was […]

  • Mark Andrews Removed From Final Injury Report

    Headshot for Mark Andrews

Baltimore Ravens tight end Mark Andrews (ankle) was a full practice participant all week and was removed from the team's final injury report for the AFC Championship game on Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs. Andrews was officially activated from Injured Reserve on Friday as well and will play this weekend for the first time since fracturing his fibula and suffering ligament damage in his left ankle in Week 11. The 28-year-old has been quarterback Lamar Jackson's favorite target when healthy, but there's a good chance Andrews will be on a snap count after such a long layoff, making him pretty risky for DFS lineups at his $5,000 DraftKings price tag. Isaiah Likely, who broke out with Andrews sidelined, is the better play at a slightly cheaper cost ($4,300).

  • Mark Andrews Activated From IR, Likely To Be On Pitch Count

    Headshot for Mark Andrews

The Baltimore Ravens officially activated tight end Mark Andrews (ankle) from Injured Reserve on Friday, meaning he will be active for Sunday's AFC Championship game against the Kansas City Chiefs. Andrews hasn't played since he fractured his fibula and suffered ligament damage in his left ankle on Nov. 16 against the Cincinnati Bengals, but the 28-year-old Pro Bowl tight returned to practice last week and has been practicing in full. In Andrews' place, Isaiah Likely has broken out as one of quarterback Lamar Jackson's go-to targets, catching 23 passes for 356 yards and six touchdowns in seven games. There's no pass-catcher that Jackson trusts more than Andrews, though, but he'll probably be on a pitch count of some sort against KC, making him hard to trust for DFS fantasy lineups. Baltimore's offense isn't as dependent on Andrews as they've been in the past.

  • Mark Andrews Puts In Full Practice

    Headshot for Mark Andrews

Baltimore Ravens tight end Mark Andrews (ankle) was a full participant in the team's first practice of the week on Wednesday. Andrews hasn't played since Week 11, when he fractured his fibula and suffered ligament damage to his ankle. The 28-year-old was close to playing in the Divisional Round against the Houston Texans, but the Ravens ultimately decided to hold him out for one more week. As long as he doesn't have a setback later this week, Andrews is fully expected to be activated from Injured Reserve and play in the AFC Championship on Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs. Andrews has been quarterback Lamar Jackson's top aerial target when healthy, but it's unclear how often Andrews will be on the field. There's a good chance he's rather limited, and the possibility of Isaiah Likely taking valuable targets away will make him a big gamble in DFS lineups.

  • Mark Andrews Expected To Play In AFC Title Game

    Headshot for Mark Andrews

Baltimore Ravens Pro Bowl tight end Mark Andrews (ankle) remains on Injured Reserve, has not played since Week 11, and didn't play in the Divisional Round win over the Houston Texans, but he's expected to play this Sunday in the AFC Championship game against the Kansas City Chiefs. Andrews is attempting to make his return after cracking his fibula and suffering ligament damage to his ankle back in Week 11, so it remains to be seen how much he'll actually see the field if he's officially activated from Injured Reserve and cleared to play against the Chiefs later this week. There's a good chance that both Andrews and Isaiah Likely are both involved in the passing attack, making them both more unlikely to pay off for those setting DFS lineups this weekend.

  • Ravens Non-Committal On Mark Andrews' Status

    Headshot for Mark Andrews

Baltimore Ravens tight end Mark Andrews (ankle) was designated to return from Injured Reserve on Friday, January 12, but he did not suit up to face the Houston Texans in the AFC Divisional Round on Saturday. Despite being a full participant at practice on Wednesday and Thursday, the 28-year-old was listed as questionable and was held out. Since it seems he was close to playing, the belief is that he could be back to face the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game on Sunday. However, head coach John Harbaugh was non-committal on his status on Monday. "We'll just see how it goes," Harbaugh said. "If he's ready to play, he'll play." It sounds like DFS gamers will have to wait a little longer to see if the Pro Bowler will hit the playing field for the first time since Week 11. If he's active, he'll be firmly on the fantasy radar, and Isaiah Likely will be a downgraded DFS option.

  • Mark Andrews Officially Out For Divisional Round

    Headshot for Mark Andrews

The Baltimore Ravens didn't activate tight end Mark Andrews (ankle) from Injured Reserve on Friday in order for him to play in Saturday's Divisional Round playoff game against the Houston Texans. Andrews was designated to return from IR at the end of last week and even put in two full practices this week, but ultimately he will not play after being listed as questionable on Thursday's final injury report. If the Ravens beat Houston and advance to the AFC Championship, Andrews, quarterback Lamar Jackson's favorite target when healthy, will be an option to play next weekend. The 28-year-old has been on IR since fracturing his left fibula and suffering ligament damage in his left ankle in Week 11. Isaiah Likely is a worthwhile DFS option if you're trying to save money at the position. He's scored five times in his last five games.

JANUARY 19: While an initial report indicated the Ravens were planning to activate Andrews for their divisional-round game, NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport indicates the team will hold off on that. • Ravens Not Expected To Activate Mark Andrews

    Headshot for Mark Andrews

The Baltimore Ravens are not expected to activate star tight end Mark Andrews (ankle) from Injured Reserve on Friday in order to play against the Houston Texans in Saturday's Divisional Round playoff game, as he's not quite ready to return from a significant ankle injury that has kept him out since Week 11. If the Ravens beat the Texans and advance to the AFC Championship, perhaps Andrews will be ready then. The 28-year-old put in full practices on Wednesday and Thursday and was listed as questionable for Saturday's game, but the Ravens aren't going to push it and will hold Andrews out. It means that Isaiah Likely, who has scored five touchdowns in his last five games, will once again be the team's top pass-catching tight end and will be a solid DFS play if you're trying to save money at the TE position.

  • Mark Andrews "Still Up In The Air" To Play

    Headshot for Mark Andrews

Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said it's still undecided if tight end Mark Andrews (ankle) will play in Saturday's Divisional Round playoff game against the Houston Texans, and he's officially listed as questionable. Andrews practiced this week for the first time since injuring his left ankle on Nov. 16 before being put on Injured Reserve. The good news is Andrews practiced in full on Wednesday and Thursday, but it doesn't necessarily mean he'll be active on Sunday or even have a big role if he does suit up. Andrews has been quarterback Lamar Jackson's favorite target since they were both selected by the Ravens in the 2018 draft. He ranks in the top three at the TE position with 347 catches (second), 4,305 yards (third) and 37 touchdowns (second) in the last five seasons. Andrews is going to be a risky DFS play if he's active on Saturday.

  • Mark Andrews Upgrades To Full Practice

    Headshot for Mark Andrews

Baltimore Ravens tight end Mark Andrews (ankle), who remains on Injured Reserve, was upgraded to a full practice participant on Wednesday after he was listed as limited on Tuesday. Andrews suffered a major ankle injury in Week 11 and hasn't played since, although it's looking like he might have a good shot to be officially activated from Injured Reserve in order to be available to play this Saturday in the Divisional Round of the playoffs against the Houston Texans. The 28-year-old has been looking good in practices, but if he's activated and plays against Houston, there's a good chance that Isaiah Likely will still operate as the team's primary pass-catching tight end. For that reason, Andrews will be a pretty risk DFS play for Baltimore's first postseason game this year.

  • Mark Andrews Has Looked Good, Listed As "Day-to-Day"

    Headshot for Mark Andrews

Baltimore Ravens offensive coordinator Todd Monken said that tight end Mark Andrews (ankle) has looked good in practice but said Andrews' status is "day-to-day" heading into the Divisional Round of the playoffs this Saturday against the Houston Texans. Andrews was listed as limited in practice on Tuesday after returning to practice last Friday. The 28-year-old remains on Injured Reserve and hasn't played since getting hurt in Week 11, but if he finishes off the week with some strong practices, Baltimore could consider officially activating him to have him available on Saturday against Houston. Given the long layoff and serious nature of Andrews' injury, it's unlikely he'd have a serious role in the Ravens' offensive game play this weekend if he were active against the Texans.

  • Mark Andrews Practicing To Begin Divisional-Round Prep

    Headshot for Mark Andrews

Baltimore Ravens tight end Mark Andrews (ankle) is on the practice field on Tuesday leading up to the AFC Divisional Round game against the Houston Texans. The 28-year-old was designated to return from the Injured Reserve list on Friday and put in a limited practice session, and it appears he did not suffer any setbacks. Andrews was placed on Injured Reserve following the Week 11 win over the Baltimore Ravens with a major ankle injury exactly two months ago. Hopefully, he'll be activated for Saturday's game, but it's too early to tell. Fantasy managers and DFS gamers will need to check back later in the week for further updates. If he suits up, he'll have immediate DFS value, while Isaiah Likely will take a step back. Despite missing seven games, he leads the Ravens with six receiving touchdowns.
