  • Hayden Hurst A TE2 In Week 3

    Headshot for Hayden Hurst

Carolina Panthers tight end Hayden Hurst turned in a slow outing in a Week 2 loss to the New Orleans Saints, catching three passes for 20 yards. He will look to bounce back in Week 3's road matchup against the Seattle Seahawks. Seattle has been average against tight ends through two games, allowing the 13th-most fantasy points per game to the position. Hurst is not a focal point in the Carolina offense but he has drawn 10 targets through two games. He sets up as a mid-tier TE2 in Week 3.

  • Hayden Hurst Held To 20 Yards In Week 2

    Headshot for Hayden Hurst

Carolina Panthers tight end Hayden Hurst caught all three of his targets for 20 yards in a 20-17 loss to the New Orleans Saints in Week 2. Hurst was quiet for much of the game, with most of his production coming via a nine-yard catch on his team's final drive of the contest. Hurst had a big Week 1 with 41 yards and a touchdown but he came back down to earth in Week 2. He will be a TE2 in Week 3 when he takes on the Seattle Seahawks.

  • Hayden Hurst - Week 2 Outlook for Fantasy Football

    Headshot for Hayden Hurst

Carolina Panthers tight end Hayden Hurst turned in a solid effort in his team's Week 1 loss to the Atlanta Falcons, catching five passes for 41 yards and a touchdown in a 24-10 loss. Despite the Panthers losing, Hurst's performance was a bright spot as he led the team in all receiving categories and scored the only Carolina touchdown. Hurst will look to stay hot in Week 2 against the New Orleans Saints. The Saints represent a tough matchup for Hurst as they allowed the fewest fantasy points per game to tight ends back in 2022. That should be reason enough for fantasy gamers to temper expectations for Hurst in Week 2.

  • Hayden Hurst Hauls In Touchdown In Week 1

    Headshot for Hayden Hurst

Carolina Panthers tight end Hayden Hurst caught five of his seven targets for 41 yards and a touchdown in a 24-10 loss to the Atlanta Falcons in Week 1. Hurst wound up leading the Panthers in all receiving categories in his debut game with the team. He hauled in the first touchdown pass of Bryce Young's career on a four-yard pass from the rookie signal-caller in the second quarter. Hurst is unlikely to finish as the Panthers' top receiver in most weeks but he showed on Sunday that he can be a serviceable fantasy tight end moving forward.

  • Hayden Hurst A TE2 For Season Opener

    Headshot for Hayden Hurst

Carolina Panthers tight end Hayden Hurst will take on the Atlanta Falcons on the road in Week 1. Hurst is making his debut for the Panthers after spending the 2022 season with the Cincinnati Bengals. The veteran tight end draws a great matchup as the Atlanta defense allowed the third-most fantasy points per game to opposing tight ends in 2022. Hurst may have trouble capitalizing on that matchup, however, as the Panthers' passing attack is an early-season question mark. Treat Hurst as a low-end TE2 in fantasy for Week 1.

  • Offseason In Review: Carolina Panthers

    Headshot for Henry Anderson

After expressing quick regret on his initial hire as Panthers owner, David Tepper reversed course and prioritized NFL experience. Carolina bailed midway through Year 3 on Matt Rhule‘s seven-year contract, and despite Steve Wilks‘ admirable job moving the team back into the mix for a division title (albeit in a historically bad NFC South), Frank […]

  • Hayden Hurst Catches One Ball In Preseason Opener

    Headshot for Hayden Hurst

Carolina Panthers tight end Hayden Hurst caught his lone target for a five-yard gain in a 27-0 loss to the New York Jets in preseason action on Saturday. Hurst started and dominated the snaps at TE for the Panthers on the first team, an encouraging sign for his involvement with the Carolina offense once the regular season starts. The veteran tight end had a solid season with the Cincinnati Bengals last year and signed a three-year deal to join the Panthers this past offseason. Hurst has some fantasy value as a backup tight end or as a streamer for fantasy managers who choose to wait on the position in drafts.

  • Hayden Hurst To Be Featured In Panthers Offense

    Headshot for Hayden Hurst

Carolina Panthers tight end Hayden Hurst said he is happy with the team's offense under Frank Reich which is expected to feature tight ends heavily. "I love it. This is the opportunity that I've always asked for," Hurst said. "I prepared this offseason like the ball's gonna come my way a lot. So I'm in the best shape of my life." Reich spoke about creating mismatches with tight ends. "I just think you get good matchups there. The philosophy is matchup football and how do you get guys in a good position to make plays," said Reich. "So you're getting tight ends on linebackers and safeties. There's a lot of really good linebackers and really good safeties, and some of them can cover, but from an offensive perspective, you just always think if you have even a halfway decent tight end, that's a winning matchup for the offense." With a limited receiving corps of Adam Thielen, D.J. Chark, Terrace Marshall Jr., and Jonathan Mingo, it sounds like Hurst could be in line for a healthy target share fit for PPR fantasy football formats.
