  • Chase Edmonds Poised To Lead Miami Backfield

Miami Dolphins running back Chase Edmonds looks like the favorite to lead the backfield this season, according to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald. Edmonds has adapted well to the Dolphins' new offensive scheme, which is something that tailors well to his speed and explosiveness as a ball carrier. The backfield is crowded as of now, with Raheem Mostert, Sony Michel, as well as Myles Gaskin, who is on the roster bubble, in the mix. Still, Edmonds could return fantasy managers RB3/flex value as he should see a significant workload early on. If Mostert or Michel, who have missed their fair share of action in the past, miss any time this season, Edmonds could vault into RB2 territory.

  • Chase Edmonds, Raheem Mostert Listed As Starting RBs

Miami Dolphins running backs Chase Edmonds and Raheem Mostert (knee) are listed as the team's starting running backs on Miami's first official depth chart of training camp. While Edmonds is the presumed lead back in new head coach Mike McDaniel's offense, there remains a strong competition in training camp that involves Mostert, Sony Michel and Myles Gaskin. Mostert is coming off another lost season due to a knee injury, but he has familiarity with McDaniel from their time in San Francisco. Edmonds, 26, has three-down versatility and is the most attractive fantasy back in Miami, but his ceiling will likely be limited in this crowded backfield. As of right now, fantasy managers should be targeting him as an RB3/flex with upside.

  • Dolphins RB Raheem Mostert Cleared To Practice

The Dolphins have made a number of changes to their running game this offseason, including the addition of Raheem Mostert. The veteran’s health has been the cause of some speculation leading up to his debut season in Miami, but he provided an encouraging update on the subject today.  Mostert tweeted that he has been medically cleared […]

  • Chase Edmonds Lined Up To Be Lead Back

Miami Dolphins running back Chase Edmonds signed a two-year, $12.6 million deal this offseason after spending his first four seasons with the Arizona Cardinals, and it seems like he's going to enter the year as Miami's lead back. Edmonds has plenty of versatility and should see the majority of the opportunities, but he'll also be splitting touches with Sony Michel and Raheem Mostert (if healthy). Mostert has averaged 5.7 yards per attempt in his career, but he's only played in 59 games in seven seasons due to injuries. Michel can be a successful change-of-pace back with a winning pedigree. Myles Gaskin is expected to drop to fourth on the depth chart and will be fighting for a roster spot in training camp. Fantasy managers probably shouldn't consider Edmonds as much more than an RB3/flex play on draft day, but he could wind up being a great value pick if he keeps the lead-back role and Mostert doesn't stay healthy.
