  • Chase Edmonds Goes On Injured Reserve

    Headshot for Chase Edmonds

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers placed running back Chase Edmonds (knee) on Injured Reserve on Wednesday. Edmonds suffered a knee injury in the Week 2 win over the Chicago Bears and will now be forced to miss at least the next four games due to an MCL injury. Rachaad White will continue to serve as the team's unquestioned lead back heading into Week 3 against the visiting Philadelphia Eagles on Monday Night Football, with rookie Sean Tucker serving as his primary backup. Ke'Shawn Vaughn will likely now be active on game days with Edmonds sidelined. In the first two games for the Bucs, Edmonds was sparsely used, carrying the ball four times for 20 yards while not being targeted in the passing game. He's well off the fantasy radar for now.

  • Buccaneers RB Chase Edmonds Facing Multi-Week Absence

    Headshot for Chase Edmonds

The Buccaneers improved to 2-0 on Sunday, but their running backs room was dealt a blow in the process. Chase Edmonds suffered an MCL sprain, reports NFL insider Jordan Schultz. Schultz notes that Edmonds suffered a grade 2 sprain, and will miss between four and six weeks as a result. That timeline would open the door to […]

  • Chase Edmonds Going For MRI Exam

    Headshot for Chase Edmonds

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Chase Edmonds (knee), who left the Week 2 win over the Chicago Bears on Sunday with a knee injury, is going for an MRI exam on Monday, according to a source. The focus of the tests will be on Edmonds' MCL. Depending on the results of the MRI, Edmonds could need to miss multiple weeks. The 27-year-old has just four carries for 20 yards in the Bucs' first two games of the season, so he hasn't been on the fantasy radar at all. If he's forced to miss time moving forward, it would open up a bigger role for rookie Sean Tucker as the backup to starter Rachaad White. Ke'Shawn Vaughn would also move up the depth chart as the team's No. 3 RB.

  • Chase Edmonds Done For The Day

    Headshot for Chase Edmonds

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Chase Edmonds (knee) has been downgraded to out for the remainder of the game against the Chicago Bears. The veteran running back suffered a knee injury in the second quarter of the game and was questionable to return. Already not on the fantasy radar, this further hurts the stock of Edmonds, who was seen as a sneaky free-agent pickup by the Bucs this offseason. He had two rushes for 12 yards in the first half before being ruled out. Rachaad White is already the bell cow in this offense and may even see more opportunities with the injury to Edmonds. Backup Sean Tucker should also get some added work.

  • Offseason In Review: Tampa Bay Buccaneers

    Headshot for Shaquil Barrett

Sticking with their all-in approach around Tom Brady a year too long, the Buccaneers still benefited considerably from their 2020 free agency coup. The franchise added a second Super Bowl title and saw Brady display better form in 2021. Brady’s unretirement helped the Bucs stay atop the NFC South, but it took a historically terrible […]

  • Sean Tucker Wins No. 2 Job Over Chase Edmonds, Ke'Shawn Vaughn

    Headshot for Sean Tucker

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Sean Tucker will occupy the No. 2 role behind Rachaad White in Week 1, according to JC Allen of Sports Illustrated. The undrafted rookie's rise to prominence has earned him the backup job over Chase Edmonds and Ke'Shawn Vaughn, who will instead round out the bottom of the depth chart. Tucker opens 2023 as a high-end RB5 in redraft leagues and should be rostered in all dynasty formats.

  • Chase Edmonds Challenging Ke'Shawn Vaughn For RB2 Role?

    Headshot for Chase Edmonds

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running backs Chase Edmonds and Ke'Shawn Vaughn are competing to be Rachaad White's backup in 2023. The Buccaneers coaching staff said Vaughn began training camp as the primary backup, but Scott Reynolds of PewterReport.com reports that Edmonds could be closing the gap on the competition. "Ke'Shawn Vaughn is the current No. 2 running back. But Chase Edmonds is coming on strong in camp," Reynolds wrote. "He's fast and has good burst and acceleration along with some nifty hands as a receiver. The Bucs want to take a long hard look at both Vaughn, who is entering a contract year, and Edmonds in the preseason games." Edmonds struggled last season, rushing 42 times for just 120 yards with the Miami Dolphins before being released. He then signed with the Denver Broncos and racked up 125 yards on 26 carries. His best days were in Arizona as an explosive rusher and receiver, so he could be on the fantasy radar if he can return to form and beat out Vaughn before the regular season begins.

  • Chase Edmonds Is The Third-Down Back

    Headshot for Chase Edmonds

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Chase Edmonds is the team's third-down running back. Head coach Todd Bowles called Edmonds a "jack of all trades" in that he can run, catch, pass block and play special teams, and he said Edmonds "understands the game completely." He has a 78.9% pass-block win rate since 2018 and has allowed just five sacks. "He is lightning in a bottle. He is shot out of a cannon. He can do as much as a lot of our slot receivers can too, so he is a really dangerous asset for us," offensive coordinator Dave Canales said. The 27-year-old can do plenty, but he's unlikely to see many opportunities as long as Rachaad White and Ke'Shawn Vaughn stay healthy in 2023. Edmonds will likely go undrafted in standard-sized fantasy leagues.
