  • Baker Mayfield Undergoing Surgery Wednesday

Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield (shoulder) is finally undergoing surgery on Wednesday to fix a torn labrum in his left shoulder that he suffered way back in Week 2. Mayfield also dealt with foot and knee injuries along the way, and his injuries clearly affected his play all season long. With the Browns eliminated from playoff contention, Mayfield sat out the Week 18 regular season finale. He's expected to need four months to recover from this surgery, so he won't be available for spring workouts, but Cleveland expects him to be their starting QB heading into the 2022 season. Mayfield will be playing next season on his fifth-year option, and it's unclear if they'll consider an extension for the 26-year-old. He completed only 60.5% of his 418 pass attempts for a career-low 3,010 yards, 17 touchdowns and 13 interceptions.

  • Baker Mayfield Should Regain Pre-Injury Form

Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield (shoulder), who will have surgery on Jan. 19 to fix a completely torn labrum and fraying in his left shoulder, is expected to regain his pre-injury form, even if the fracture of his humerus bone requires repair. "The odds are in his favor in terms of getting back to playing, of getting back to the same level," Dr. Theodore Blaine said. Whether the surgery is done arthroscopically or not, Mayfield's recovery should be four to six months. Mayfield suffered his shoulder injury back in Week 2 and played through the injury all year, which led to an extremely underwhelming season statistically speaking. The 26-year-old will be playing on his option in 2022 and is expected to enter the year as the starter if he's healthy. Mayfield will need to impress if he hopes to stick around longer in Cleveland.

  • Browns Expect Baker Mayfield To Be Their Starter In 2022

Cleveland Browns general manager Andrew Berry said that the team fully expects quarterback Baker Mayfield "to be our starter and bounce back" in 2022. Mayfield missed the Week 18 season finale and will have surgery next week to repair a torn labrum in his left shoulder that he suffered in Week 2. The 26-year-old, who also dealt with knee and foot injuries in 2021, will likely be playing in his final season with the Browns next year unless he drastically turns things around. Mayfield completed 60.5 percent of his passes for just 7.2 yards per attempt, 17 touchdowns and 13 interceptions in 14 games. If Mayfield were to turn things around in 2022, the Browns could place the franchise tag on him for 2023 in order to buy them more time to work out a contract extension. Heading into next season, Mayfield will likely be ignored in most fantasy leagues.

  • Baker Mayfield Likely To Be Retained By The Browns

Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield is expected to remain under center next season. The former Oklahoma Sooner had the worst year as a professional during the 2020-21 campaign, and he had a career-low 17 touchdowns for 3,010 yards. While the signal-caller can't take all of the blame, primarily with injuries and COVID-19 designations on the offensive end along with the mid-season departure of Odell Beckham Jr., he may have one more shot to prove his worth. Nonetheless, It's far too early to tell what his outlook will be next season, especially since he will undergo left shoulder surgery within the next few weeks. However, if Mayfield can get some reliable receivers and stay healthy, he has the potential to exceed expectations.

  • Browns Looking To Upgrade Over Baker Mayfield?

The Cleveland Plain Dealer's Mary Kay Cabot says it's likely that the Cleveland Browns will decide to upgrade over quarterback Baker Mayfield this offseason, even if the QB resolves his differences with head coach Kevin Stefanski. According to sources, Mayfield felt like Stefanski's play-calling didn't always put him in a position to succeed or play to his strengths. Mayfield certainly didn't play well this year, but it didn't help that he suffered a torn labrum in his left shoulder in Week 2 and dealt with several other injuries throughout the season. He's under contract for $18.858 million in his fifth-year option in 2022, but it's uncertain if the Browns even view him as their starter for next season. Mayfield ranks 27th with an 83.1 QB rating, and his 60.5 completion percentage ranks 28th in the NFL. If Mayfield is Cleveland's starter in 2022, he'll be passed over in most standard-sized fantasy leagues.

  • Baker Mayfield To Have Surgery Jan. 19

Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield (shoulder) will have surgery to fix the torn labrum in his left shoulder on Jan. 19 in Los Angeles, according to a source. With Mayfield shutting it down with one game remaining in the regular season and electing to undergo surgery as soon as possible, he will have plenty of time to make a full recovery for what will be his option season in 2022. The 26-year-old tore his labrum all the way back in Week 2 and also dealt with foot and knee injuries along the way. It showed in the numbers, as Mayfield went 253-for-418 (60.5 completion percentage) for a career-low 3,010 passing yards, 17 touchdowns, 13 interceptions and a career-low 35.3 QBR. Even if he's fully healthy going into next season, he won't be anything more than a low-end QB2 for fantasy purposes.

  • Baker Mayfield Won't Play In Week 18

Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield (shoulder) won't play in the Week 18 regular season finale against the Cincinnati Bengals, head coach Kevin Stefanski confirmed on Tuesday. Mayfield will undergo surgery as soon as possible on his injured left shoulder. The 26-year-old has been playing hurt nearly all year after he suffered a labrum tear in his shoulder way back in Week 2. Along with the shoulder injury, he's fought through foot and knee injuries as well. All in all, it was a rough season for Mayfield, as he'll finish with a career-low 3,010 passing yards on 418 attempts (60.5 completion percentage), 17 touchdowns and 13 interceptions. His struggles were on display in Monday night's loss to Pittsburgh in which he tossed two more interceptions and took nine sacks. Mayfield will be playing on his option in 2022 and will be trying to convince the team he deserves a long-term extension.

  • Baker Mayfield Will Undergo Surgery, Undecided For Week 18

Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield (shoulder) will undergo surgery to repair a torn labrum in his left shoulder but is undecided if he will play in the regular-season finale against the Cincinnati Bengals. "I'm going to get my shoulder fixed," Mayfield said via the Associated Press. "I want to be able to come back next year at 100%. That's been decided. When it's happening has not been decided. I don't have an answer regarding (playing) next week." The former No.1 overall pick had a rough performance in Monday's 26-14 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. He completed 16 of 38 passes for 185 yards, two touchdowns, two interceptions, and was sacked nine times. Case Keenum will draw the start if Mayfield is ruled out for Week 18. Fantasy managers still playing something can consider Keenum a low-end QB2 against the Bengals.

  • Baker Mayfield Dismal In Loss To Steelers

Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield struggled in a 26-14 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 17. Mayfield completed just 16 of 38 passes for 185 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions in the disappointing loss. The veteran quarterback had an extremely difficult time in the pocket against Pittsburgh as he took a whopping nine sacks while struggling to move the Cleveland offense for much of the evening. Mayfield had four passes deflected at the line of scrimmage in the first half alone in what was easily one of the worst performances of his NFL career. His first touchdown pass was a three-yard toss to David Njoku in the third quarter and he followed that up with a one-yard TD pass to Harrison Bryant in garbage time. Mayfield will finish off the regular season against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 18 if Cleveland decides to stick with him under center. As has been the case for much of the second half of the season, he should be nowhere near fantasy lineups for that contest.

  • Baker Mayfield - Week 17 Outlook for Fantasy Football

Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield will take on the Pittsburgh Steelers on the road in Week 17. Mayfield is coming off a rough four-interception, two-touchdown game in a loss to the Green Bay Packers in Week 16. This week, Mayfield will get a rematch against a Pittsburgh defense that he was unable to post a touchdown against back in a Week 8 loss. The Cleveland signal-caller has been a low-upside fantasy option this season, throwing for just 15 touchdowns all year while failing to toss more than two scores in any one contest. Fantasy gamers should not be relying on Mayfield in the fantasy finals, even in two-quarterback formats.

  • Baker Mayfield Throws Four INTs

Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield turned in a disappointing outing in a 24-22 loss to the Green Bay Packers in Week 16. Mayfield completed 21 of 36 passes for 222 yards, two touchdowns, and four interceptions in the loss. The veteran quarterback completed a one-yard touchdown to Harrison Bryant and a five-yarder to Anthony Schwartz during the contest. The first three of his interceptions led directly to Green Bay touchdowns while the fourth, and final interception, was hard to blame on Mayfield as the defender committed a blatant hold on Donovan Peoples-Jones before the pick. Playing progressively worse as the season winds down, Mayfield will not be a recommended fantasy option in Week 17's matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

  • Baker Mayfield - Week 16 Outlook for Fantasy Football

Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield was activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list on Friday and will play against the Green Bay Packers on Christmas Day in Week 16. Mayfield draws a plus matchup against a Green Bay defense that is allowing the fifth-most fantasy points per game to quarterbacks in 2021. The veteran signal-caller has not been a strong fantasy option this season and that is unlikely to change in Week 16 despite the nice matchup against Green Bay. Treat Mayfield as a low-end QB2 for the fantasy semifinals.

  • Browns Activate Baker Mayfield, Case Keenum

The Cleveland Browns activated quarterback Baker Mayfield and Case Keenum from the Reserve/COVID-19 list on Friday, as expected. Mayfield and Keenum were both unavailable for the Week 15 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders, which was moved to Monday. Browns fans can rest easy knowing that third-stringer Nick Mullens won't have to run the offense on Christmas Day against the Green Bay Packers. The Browns will also get top receiver Jarvis Landry back from the COVID list, so Mayfield will have his top receiver available. Still, Mayfield has been a low-end QB2 play all year in Cleveland's run first offense, and he's not worth streaming against a much-improved Packers defense on the road.

  • Browns Plan To Start Baker Mayfield On Saturday

Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski said the plan is for quarterback Baker Mayfield to start on Saturday against the Green Bay Packers. Mayfield remains on the Reserve/COVID-19 list, but because of the 10-day rule, he'll be eligible to come off the list on Friday, regardless of testing. The Browns will be getting wide receiver Jarvis Landry back as well, so they'll be getting some starting weapons back on offense, minus running back Kareem Hunt (ankle). Cleveland might not be able to rely on the ground game as much as they'd like in this matchup, but Mayfield, who hasn't played since Dec. 12, will be a low-end QB2 against a solid Packers defense on the road. Mayfield has gone over 300 yards passing twice this year and not since Week 5.

Dec 23 · Source via Browns Baker Mayfield
  • Baker Mayfield, Case Keenum Won't Play In Week 15

Cleveland Browns quarterbacks Baker Mayfield and Case Keenum did not test out of the NFL's COVID-19 protocols on Monday, according to league sources, meaning it will be Nick Mullens under center against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 15. The team had been holding out hope that they would get a negative test back from Mayfield in time, but instead Mullens will make his first NFL appearance since Week 14 of the 2020 season. There's a good chance that Mayfield will be back under center for Cleveland's Christmas Day game against the Green Bay Packers in Week 16. Mullens under center downgrades Cleveland's passing offense, especially considering he was just signed to the team's active roster from the practice squad earlier in the week. Running back Nick Chubb is the only safe fantasy option on the Browns this week.

  • Baker Mayfield Tests Positive For COVID-19

Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday, adding to Cleveland's long list of positive tests. Cleveland could be without Mayfield, Jarvis Landry, Austin Hooper, Kareem Hunt, Wyatt Teller, Jedrick Willis, and Ross Travis for Saturday's game against the Las Vegas Raiders. The former No.1 overall pick completed 22-of-32 passes for 190 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception in a 24-22 win over the Baltimore Ravens in Week 14. According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Mayfield said he felt completely normal but still tested positive for COVID. Case Keenum would draw the start against the Raiders, with Mayfield expected to be out. With the lack of offensive weapons, Keenum is mainly an option in Superflex leagues for the fantasy playoffs in Week 15.

  • Baker Mayfield Throws Two TDs Vs. Ravens

Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield completed 22 of 32 passes for 190 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception in a 24-22 win over the Baltimore Ravens in Week 14. Mayfield also tacked on 14 rushing yards on six carries. After a slow stretch of late, the veteran quarterback was able to notch his first multi-touchdown game since Week 9 against the Cincinnati Bengals. Mayfield's touchdown passes went to Jarvis Landry and Austin Hooper. He also survived an injury scare as he went into the blue tent during the second half but cleared the league's concussion protocol and returned without missing a play. Mayfield will remain a low-upside QB2 in Week 15 against the Las Vegas Raiders.

  • Baker Mayfield - Week 14 Outlook for Fantasy Football

Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield got in full practices all week and is listed without an injury designation as he gears up for a home matchup against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 14. That is good news as Mayfield has been dealing with injuries to his left shoulder and his foot, but he should be relatively fresh coming off a bye in Week 13. The Ravens represent a plus matchup for Mayfield as they are allowing the ninth-most fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks this year. It remains to be seen whether Mayfield is able to take advantage of this plus matchup as he has been a very average fantasy quarterback this season and only mustered one touchdown pass when these two teams met back in Week 12. Treat him as a low-end QB2 in Week 14.

  • Jack Conklin Out For Rest Of The Year

Tests on Monday confirmed that Cleveland Browns right tackle Jack Conklin (knee) tore his patella tendon in the Sunday night loss to the Baltimore Ravens, and he will miss the rest of the season, according to a source. Conklin had just returned from an elbow injury that had him on Injured Reserve. The 27-year-old will need to undergo surgery and might not be ready for training camp next summer. The Browns offensive line is one of the best units in the NFL, but losing Conklin on the right side is a big loss. Blake Hance filled in for Conklin after he was injured on Sunday night and struggled in pass protection against the Ravens defense. Conklin's season-ending injury is a downgrade for quarterback Baker Mayfield and Cleveland's ground game the rest of the way.

  • Browns Won't Be Benching Baker Mayfield

Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski said the team isn't considering benching quarterback Baker Mayfield when the team returns from their Week 13 bye. "We're not doing that," Stefanski said. Mayfield has been playing through shoulder, foot, knee and groin injuries for almost two months and completed less than 50% of his passes in the Sunday night loss to the Baltimore Ravens in Week 12. Backup Case Keenum isn't better than a healthy Mayfield, but he could be just as good as an injured Mayfield. The Week 13 bye will allow Mayfield to rest his injuries a bit, but he'll be facing the same Ravens team in Week 14 and will be a low-end QB2 to avoid in fantasy. The 26-year-old is the No. 25 fantasy QB through 12 weeks, and he has only 10 touchdowns and six interceptions in 10 games played.

  • Baker Mayfield Throws One TD In Loss To Ravens

Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield completed 18 of 37 passes for 247 yards and one touchdown in a 16-10 loss to the Baltimore Ravens in Week 12. Mayfield also lost a fumble in the mistake-filled contest on Sunday night. While the 247 passing yards were Mayfield's most since October 10 against the Los Angeles Chargers, the Cleveland offense continues to struggle to move the ball and score points. Mayfield will welcome a Week 13 bye as he has been dealing with foot, shoulder, and groin injuries for much of the season. After his bye, he will face off against the Baltimore Ravens again in Week 14, this time in Cleveland.

  • Baker Mayfield Ready To Make Plays With His Legs

Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield (shoulder, foot, groin), who has been struggling with injuries in recent weeks, is finally able to make plays with his legs again and is showing signs of looking like himself, according to those who see him every day. His injuries are starting to heal, and one source said he's feeling as good as he has in a month. Another source described Mayfield as having no limitations. The last time Mayfield faced the Baltimore Ravens, his Week 12 opponent on Sunday night, he averaged more than six yards per rush and scored a touchdown. Mayfield will be getting pass-catching back Kareem Hunt (calf) back in Week 12 and will face a porous Ravens secondary, but he'll still be on the low end of the QB2 spectrum in Cleveland's run-first offense.

  • Baker Mayfield - Week 12 Outlook for Fantasy Football

Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield (groin, shoulder, foot) got in full practices on Thursday and Friday and is listed without an injury designation as he gears up to take on the Baltimore Ravens on the road in Week 12. Mayfield is playing through an assortment of injuries that have affected him on the field, but he continues to suit up and play through a variety of ailments. Baltimore sets up as a plus matchup for Mayfield in Week 12 as they are allowing the ninth-most fantasy points per game to the quarterback position in 2021. That being said, Mayfield has not played well over the past month and will be tough to trust against Baltimore. Treat him as a low-end QB2 for Week 12.

  • Baker Mayfield Not On The Final Injury Report

Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield (shoulder, foot, groin) was removed from the final injury report for Week 12 and will play on Sunday night against the Baltimore Ravens. Mayfield has been gutting multiple injuries out and managed to practice in full the last two days. It doesn't mean the 26-year-old will be effective, though, even against a Ravens defense that has allowed the second-most passing yards per game (281.1) this year. The Browns will likely continue to rely on their ground game against Baltimore as long as they don't fall behind by multiple scores, and Cleveland is expected to get running back Kareem Hunt (calf) back from Injured Reserve. Mayfield hasn't gone over 200 yards passing since Week 9 and has completed only 26 passes in the last two games combined. He's a low-end QB2.

  • Baker Mayfield Practices In Full Thursday

Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield (shoulder/foot/groin) practiced in full on Thursday. This was an upgrade after he did not practice on Wednesday. It's been no secret that Mayfield is dealing with three injuries, but the expectation all along is that he'll play through them. The Browns' bye is conveniently positioned in Week 13.

  • Baker Mayfield Doesn't Practice Wednesday

Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield (shoulder, knee, foot) did not practice on Wednesday despite going through the morning walkthrough. Mayfield is the most beat up he's been in his career, but he still plans to play through his injuries on Sunday night against the Baltimore Ravens. Nobody can question the 26-year-old's toughness, but Mayfield just cannot be relied on in fantasy, even in two-QB leagues. He completed only 15 passes on 29 attempts and threw for under 200 yards with a touchdown and two picks against the winless Detroit Lions last week. An already run-heavy offense will continue to protect an ailing Mayfield as much as they can. The Ravens D has allowed the second-most passing yards per game (281.1), but Mayfield might not be able to take advantage of that.

  • Baker Mayfield To Practice Wednesday, Play Sunday Night

Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield (shoulder, knee, foot) said he will practice on Wednesday and still plans to start on Sunday night against the Baltimore Ravens. Mayfield said that he hasn't had any setbacks with any of his injuries. The Ravens secondary has allowed a lot of big plays through the air this year -- they've given up the second-most passing yards per game (281.1) -- but Mayfield will remain a low-end QB2 in a run-first offense while playing at far less than 100% health. The 26-year-old completed just 15 passes, threw for under 200 yards and tossed two interceptions against the winless Detroit Lions in a narrow win last weekend. You can't knock Mayfield's toughness, but he's just not a fantasy option at this time.

  • Baker Mayfield Playing Through Multiple Injuries

Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield (shoulder, foot, knee) will play on Sunday, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. However, Mayfield is certainly not at 100 percent heading into Week 11. The quarterback is dealing with a torn labrum in his shoulder, a bruised heel, and a bone bruise in his knee that left his leg numb for several days. "That numbness where you can't feel your leg is pretty scary," Mayfield told the media. "I had not had that before, but another new thing for me." The numbness has dissipated, but Mayfield is still very much banged up heading into Sunday's game against the Lions. Mayfield intends to play through the injuries and make it to Week 13, when the team's bye will allow him to heal up just in time for a playoff push.

  • Baker Mayfield - Week 11 Outlook for Fantasy Football

Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield was announced on Friday as the team's starter for Week 11 against the Detroit Lions. Mayfield has been playing through an assortment of injuries this season but they will not be enough to keep him from taking the field against Detroit at home. Detroit's defense is allowing the 14th-most fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks this season but the Browns will most likely be able to control this game by leaning on the run game, which would limit Mayfield's upside. Treat him as a low-end QB2 for Week 11.

  • Baker Mayfield Will Start Against Lions

Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski said that quarterback Baker Mayfield (shoulder, knee, foot) will start in Week 11 against the Detroit Lions. Mayfield admitted that he's the most beat up he's probably ever been in his career, but he will tough it out and play this Sunday after suffering a bruised knee in the Week 10 blowout loss to the New England Patriots. Fantasy managers shouldn't expect some kind of dominating performance this weekend just because he's facing the winless Lions. In a game that the Browns can win without relying much on Mayfield's arm, we wouldn't expect Cleveland to put the injured QB in more harm's way. Through nine games, Mayfield ranks 25th in the NFL with only 246 passing attempts in this low-volume passing offense.

Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield (shoulder, knee, foot) returned to practice on Thursday after missing Wednesday's session. Mayfield said he's the most beat up he's ever been in his career after suffering a knee injury last Sunday, but the team fully expects him to tough it out and play in Week 11 against the winless Detroit Lions. The Browns, already a run-heavy team expected to get running back Nick Chubb back from the COVID-19 list this weekend, are unlikely to need to throw the ball much on Sunday to have a shot at beating the Lions. Mayfield will continue to be more of a game manager for the Browns offense and won't be a very attractive low-end QB2, especially while he's nursing a trio of injuries.

  • Baker Mayfield Plans To Play Sunday

Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield (knee, foot, shoulder) plans to play in Week 11 against the winless Detroit Lions despite being "probably the most beat up" he's ever been. He's dealing with a torn labrum and broken bone in his left shoulder, a sore left foot and a bruised right knee. Mayfield suffered the knee injury last weekend and was still limping on Wednesday when he missed practice. Head coach Kevin Stefanski said he's "confident" Mayfield will play against Detroit. The matchup is a nice one, but with Mayfield beat up in this run-first offense, he still won't be attractive as a QB2 play in superflex leagues. While battling through multiple injuries, don't expect Mayfield to be all that productive. He was 11-for-21 for a career-low 73 yards with a touchdown and interception in the Week 10 blowout loss to the New England Patriots.

Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield (knee) exited Sunday's loss early with a knee injury in Sunday's loss to the New England Patriots but is expected to play in Week 11 against the Detroit Lions. He left in the third quarter with a knee contusion and did not return. According to Ian Rapoport, Mayfield's absence mid-way through the third quarter was more score-related than injury-related, as Cleveland was down 38-7 heading into the fourth quarter. The former No.1 overall is playing through a torn labrum in his left shoulder and now battling a knee injury. Mayfield is considered day-to-day. Case Keenum would be the Browns starting quarterback against the Lions in Week 11 if Mayfield cannot suit up; stay tuned for further updates.

  • Baker Mayfield Throws One TD, Departs Early With Injury

Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield (knee) completed 11 of 21 passes for 73 yards, one touchdown, and one interception in a 45-7 loss to the New England Patriots in Week 10. Mayfield struggled to move the offense during the loss before departing during the third quarter after taking a big hit from Matt Judon. He apparently suffered a knee injury on the hit, which head coach Kevin Stefanski called a knee contusion after the game. Mayfield's lone interception was a costly one as Kyle Dugger caught his pass and returned it 37 yards to the Cleveland five-yard line, leading to New England's second touchdown of the afternoon. Sunday's outing marks the first time in Mayfield's NFL career that he passed for fewer than 100 yards in a start. Cleveland will take on the Detroit Lions at home in Week 11. If Mayfield is unable to play, Case Keenum would presumably get the start. Neither player will be a particularly enticing fantasy option in that matchup.

Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield (shoulder, foot) will take on the New England Patriots on the road in Week 10. Mayfield shook off an early-week foot injury to get in a full practice on Thursday, setting him up to suit up against the Patriots on Sunday. New England represents a tough matchup for Mayfield as they are allowing the fifth-fewest fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks in 2021. Mayfield has been trending upwards of late, throwing for two touchdowns in three of his past four games. That being said, he will be tough to trust as anything more than a low-end QB2 against New England in Week 10.

Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield (foot, shoulder) was a full practice participant on Thursday after he was limited on Wednesday. Mayfield said his foot injury was not a major injury at all, so it will not keep him from playing in Week 10 against the New England Patriots. The 26-year-old's left shoulder injury is the much bigger concern, but he's hoping to put off surgery until the offseason. But the Browns would prefer that he throw as little as possible in this run-first offense. Mayfield attempted only 21 pass attempts and completed a season-low 14 passes in the Week 9 win over the Cincinnati Bengals. He is a low-end QB2 and could be without top running back Nick Chubb due to COVID-19.

Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield (foot, shoulder) was listed as a limited practice participant on Wednesday, but he said his foot injury "is nothing major by any means." It appears the Browns were just giving Mayfield a little bit of a rest day on Wednesday to start the practice week. The 26-year-old's left shoulder injury remains the much bigger concern, and he completed a season-low 14 passes on a season-low-tying 21 attempts in the Week 9 blowout win over the Cincinnati Bengals. Mayfield has barely topped 200 yards passing in the last two weeks and has only two 300-yard games and eight touchdown passes in eight games in this low-volume passing attack. He'll remain a low-upside, low-end QB2 against the New England Patriots this Sunday and will likely be without starting running back Nick Chubb due to COVID-19.

  • Baker Mayfield Throws Two TDs In Week 9 Win

Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield completed 14 of 21 passes for 218 yards and two touchdowns in a 41-16 win over the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 9. Mayfield found Donovan Peoples-Jones for a 60-yard touchdown down the middle of the field in the second quarter and followed that up with an 18-yard touchdown pass to David Njoku in the fourth quarter. The veteran quarterback wasn't asked to do much else in a game that saw the Browns score a defensive touchdown on a pick-six and Nick Chubb score two rushing touchdowns. Mayfield will look for another multi-touchdown game in Week 10's road matchup against the New England Patriots.

  • Baker Mayfield - Week 9 Outlook for Fantasy Football

Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield will take on a familiar foe when he goes up against the Cincinnati Bengals on the road in Week 9. Mayfield will most likely be playing without Odell Beckham Jr., who is away from the team and may have played his last game in a Cleveland uniform after his father posted a video disparaging Mayfield earlier in the week. The Bengals represent a neutral matchup for Mayfield as they are allowing the 16th-fewest fantasy points per game to the quarterback position. Mayfield has not been a good fantasy quarterback this season but Cincinnati's explosive offense could push this game into shootout territory, which would benefit Mayfield. Treat him as a low-end QB2 with slightly more upside than usual in Week 9.

  • Baker Mayfield - Week 8 Outlook for Fantasy Football

Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield (shoulder) is expected to get the start against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 8. Mayfield missed his team's last game, the Thursday night contest in Week 7, thanks to a left shoulder injury. After getting in a full practice on Friday, he appears to be feeling well enough to suit up in an important divisional matchup against the Steelers on Sunday. Pittsburgh has been a neutral matchup for opposing signal-callers in 2021, allowing the 14th fewest fantasy points per game to the position through six games. Even without the injury to his non-throwing shoulder, Mayfield's fantasy upside has been capped by a run-first offense in Cleveland. Fantasy gamers should treat him as a low-end QB2 for Week 8 against Pittsburgh.

  • Baker Mayfield Gains Clearance, Expected To Start

Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield (shoulder) received medical clearance on Thursday night and is expected to start on Sunday in a big divisional matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers despite a torn left labrum and shoulder fracture, according to a source. Mayfield has full range of motion and strength back in his shoulder, and his fracture his healing. The 26-year-old is practicing again on Friday, and he's hoping to put off surgery on his injured shoulder until the offseason. It's good news for the rest of the Browns offensive weapons, namely receivers Jarvis Landry and Odell Beckham Jr., but Mayfield will remain a low-end QB2 in this run-first offense against a tough Steelers defense in Week 8.

  • Baker Mayfield Has A Chance to Play In Week 8

Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield (shoulder) has a "chance" to play in Sunday's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. He missed last Thursday's win over the Denver Broncos with a fully torn labrum and fractured humerus bone in his left, non-throwing shoulder. Fantasy managers should know if Mayfield will suit up on Sunday once the Browns release the injury report on Friday. The former No.1 overall pick has thrown for 1,474 yards and a 6:3 TD: INT ratio over six games in 2021. If active, Mayfield is a borderline QB2 against the Steelers in Week 8. Case Keenum would be the Browns starting quarterback if Mayfield is ruled out. Stay tuned.

  • Baker Mayfield Making Good Progress

Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield (shoulder) looked good on short and intermediate routes again in practice on Thursday and is making progress towards starting in Week 8 against the division-rival Pittsburgh Steelers. Mayfield missed last Thursday's win over the Denver Broncos with a fully torn labrum and fractured humerus bone in his left, non-throwing shoulder. He's hoping to put off surgery until after the season, but that will depend on if he can avoid any more big hits that could dislocate his shoulder again and cause further damage. Mayfield is trending towards a return this weekend, but he'll be just a low-end QB2 if that happens, as he's thrown for only six touchdowns and 1,474 yards in six games played in 2021.

  • Baker Mayfield, Odell Beckham Jr. Limited Wednesday

Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield (shoulder) and wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. (shoulders) were both limited in practice on Wednesday. Mayfield looked fine during a limited session and is on track to return this Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers after missing last Thursday's game with a fully torn labrum in his left shoulder and a fracture in his humerus bone. The 26-year-old is hoping to make it through the season before getting offseason surgery on his non-throwing shoulder. Against a tough Steelers D, he'll be a low-end QB2 for fantasy managers. Beckham played through injuries to both shoulders last week but caught just two of six targets for 23 yards. OBJ has yet to find the end zone this year and hasn't caught more than five passes for 79 yards in a single game. Even if Jarvis Landry (knee) doesn't play and Mayfield returns, it's hard to trust him as anything more than a WR4/flex at this point in this run-first offense.

  • Baker Mayfield Says He Could Play Against Steelers

Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield (shoulder) said that playing in Week 8 against the Pittsburgh Steelers is a possibility. It's not a ringing endorsement for his return, but the good news is that he has been practicing this week after missing last Thursday's win over the Denver Broncos with a fully torn labrum in his left shoulder and a fractured humerus bone. Mayfield and the Browns are hoping that he can play through the injury and have surgery on his non-throwing shoulder after the season, but any further dislocations to his arm could cause more damage and a longer recovery timetable when he eventually has surgery. Mayfield will be tough to get behind as a QB2 if he plays against a strong Steelers defense, and if he can't go, backup Case Keenum would make his second straight start.

  • Baker Mayfield Expected To Practice Wednesday

According to ESPN's Josina Anderson, Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield (shoulder) is expected to practice on Wednesday, barring setbacks. Mayfield has been dealing with a torn labrum and a fracture in his left shoulder for the past several weeks, an injury that kept him out of his team's Week 7 win over the Denver Broncos. There are some camps that feel that Mayfield would benefit from a short stay on injured reserve, but it's apparent that the quarterback wants to play through the injury, which is expected to eventually require surgery. If Keenum can't take the field against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 8, look for veteran Case Keenum to draw another start. Fantasy gamers counting on Mayfield will want to monitor Cleveland's practice reports once they start rolling in on Wednesday.

  • Baker Mayfield Misses Practice Monday

Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield (shoulder) was not spotted at the portion of practice open to the media on Monday. Mayfield missed last Thursday's win over the Denver Broncos after being diagnosed with a complete labrum tear and a broken humerus bone in his left, non-throwing shoulder. The 26-year-old signal-caller will eventually require surgery that will sideline him anywhere from four to six months, but Mayfield and the team are hoping that can wait until after the season. It will depend on whether he can avoid any further dislocations, which could cause further structural damage to his shoulder. If Mayfield can't return in Week 8 against the Pittsburgh Steelers, backup Case Keenum would get another start. All of Cleveland's pass-catchers would need to be downgraded if Mayfield misses yet another game.

  • Baker Mayfield Will Face Long Recovery For Eventual Surgery

Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield (shoulder) will need four to six months of recovery time from eventual surgery to fix the torn labrum in his left shoulder, providing he doesn't need his fractured humerus bone or other bones fixed. His current fracture is non-displaced and will heal on its own, according to a league source, but the break could get worse with more dislocations. Mayfield has three shoulder dislocations since Week 2 and didn't play in Thursday's win over the Broncos, although there's hope he can play in Week 8 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Browns said they will listen to their medical staff when it comes to Mayfield's status for the Halloween game. His fracture won't be fully healed by next Sunday, but Mayfield could have enough strength to give it a go. If Mayfield doesn't make it back, Case Keenum would be making his second straight start.
