  • Jamaal Williams Finds End Zone Again Versus Bills

Detroit Lions running back Jamaal Williams rushed 18 times for 66 yards and a touchdown in the 28-25 loss to the Buffalo Bills. Once again, Williams paid off in fantasy thanks to the rushing score, but his PPR ceiling proved to be low. In PPR formats, he likely won't finish as a high-end play, but he's constantly found a way to be a solid flex option. Detroit plays the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 13, and a Williams rushing score is expected at this point in the season.

  • Jamaal Williams A Boom-Or-Bust Week 12 Option

Detroit Lions running back Jamaal Williams leads the NFL with 12 touchdowns, but he should still be considered a boom-or-bust option on Thanksgiving day against the Buffalo Bills. Williams has only posted one 100-yard rushing performance on the year and lacks receiving upside, so his fantasy production is very fragile and dependent on touchdowns. However, since he's been the clear goal line touch leader for a good Lions' offense, he's tough to bench. The Bills have allowed the 11th-fewest fantasy points to running backs thus far, so the matchup could mean tough sledding. If the Lions get behind early and are forced to pass, Williams is at high risk for a bust performance. He should be viewed as a low-end RB2.

  • Jamaal Williams Scores Three Touchdowns Against Giants

Detroit Lions running back Jamaal Williams rushed 17 times for 64 yards and three touchdowns in the win over the New York Giants. He rushed for just 3.8 yards per carry, but obviously, the three scores led to a big fantasy day. His outlook remains as a touchdown-or-bust option since he doesn't do much in the passing game, but since he leads in the NFL in touchdowns (12) through 11 weeks, it's nearly impossible to bench him. Detroit will continue to use him as a battering ram near the goal line.

  • Jamaal Williams A Touchdown-Or-Bust Option In Week 11

Detroit Lions running back Jamaal Williams is still likely the primary back in running situations, but his pass-catching upside is almost none with D'Andre Swift finally back to full health. That said, Williams will have to have a monster yardage day or score a few touchdowns to really boom in Week 11. Williams ranks third in the NFL in rushing touchdowns with nine, so he could very well add to his impressive start, but his floor is not as safe with Swift and even Justin Jackson taking some work in the backfield. It's tough to bench Williams since he's the dominant touch-leader in the red zone, but the New York Giants have a top-10 defense against fantasy running backs.

  • D'Andre Swift, Jamaal Williams Fully Practice Thursday

Detroit Lions running backs D'Andre Swift (ankle, shoulder) and Jamaal Williams (illness) were full participants in Thursday's practice. Williams sat out Wednesday's practice with an illness but returned to log a full session Thursday. Swift fully practiced this week and is on track to play Sunday against the New York Giants. Williams continues to lead Detroit's backfield and has out-carried Swift 50-to-13 over the last three games. Both Detroit backs are considered flex plays against a Giants defense that ranks 23rd in rush DVOA this season.

  • Jamaal Williams Totals 59 Yards In Win

Detroit Lions running back Jamaal Williams rushed 16 times for just 59 yards in the win over the Chicago Bears. However, he rushed for one touchdown and paid off for fantasy managers who played him. Williams continues to be a touchdown-or-bust player, but the Lions have one of the best offenses in the NFL, and Williams dominates the goal line carries. He can continue to be played as an RB2 or flex option since D'Andre Swift continues to get limited touches in the Detroit backfield.

  • Jamaal Williams A Great Flex Play Against Bears

Detroit Lions running back Jamaal Williams has tons of upside in a matchup with the Chicago Bears, who have allowed the seventh-most fantasy points per game to running backs thus far. Chicago has also allowed the third-most rushing yards per game this season. Jamaal Williams should remain the primary back in running situations, even with D'Andre Swift (shoulder) off the injury report. Both Detroit running backs could be in for huge days, but it'll be interesting to see if Swift starts to get more touches since he didn't suffer a setback in Week 9.

  • Jamaal Williams Has Chance To Lead Backfield

Detroit Lions running back Jamaal Williams could be the lead back against the Green Bay Packers in Week 9 if D'Andre Swift (ankle, shoulder) is inactive. Swift is officially questionable, but his game-day status could go either way. Even if Swift does play, Williams is a solid flex play since he dominates the goal-line touches in a highly effective offense. If Swift does not play, Williams becomes a must-start as the clear workhorse running back. Green Bay is a bottom-12 defense against fantasy running backs, so he should be in for a big day in that case.

  • Jamaal Williams Finds End Zone Twice

Detroit Lions running back Jamaal Williams handled 13 total touches for 76 yards and two rushing touchdowns in the loss to the Miami Dolphins. D'Andre Swift came back and handled 10 touches, but Williams remained the primary goal line option. Ultimately, Swift's return to health limits Williams' weekly ceiling, but he's still a strong flex play with a ton of touchdown upside in what looks like a good offense again. Some of his receiving work will be outsourced to Swift, but his workload keeps him on the fantasy radar in Week 9 against the Packers.

  • Jamaal Williams Back To A Flex Play In Week 8

Detroit Lions running back Jamaal Williams will be rejoined by D'Andre Swift in the backfield, so his ceiling is capped, and he might return to being just a touchdown-or-bust flex play. That said, Detroit's offense should get back on track in a favorable matchup, so Williams has touchdown upside. There's also a chance Swift's touches are heavily limited, so it's tough to bench Williams this week, except for in the shallowest of leagues. Until Swift dominates touches, Williams will still have plenty of fantasy relevance.

  • Jamaal Williams A Solid Flex Play Against Cowboys

Detroit Lions running back Jamaal Williams is a high-end flex play even if D'Andre Swift (ankle/shoulder) returns to the lineup. If Swift is out, Williams has a high-end RB1 upside as the workhorse running back in one of the league's top offenses. The Dallas Cowboys are a top-six defense against fantasy running backs, but Williams gets valuable touches near the goalline and enough overall touches to be in play in a shared backfield. Until the Lions employ Swift as a full-time running back, Williams has plenty of value.

  • Jamaal Williams Held To 56 Yards

Detroit Lions running back Jamaal Williams handled 15 touches but was held to just 56 yards and zero touchdowns. The Lions were shut out, so nearly all of the Detroit skill players were busts in Week 5. Williams' rest-of-season outlook will be affected by how quickly D'Andre Swift (ankle, shoulder) comes back. Detroit is on a bye next week, so Swift could return in Week 7. Williams will still be a fantasy-relevant flex option when Swift returns, but his floor and workload will be diminished.

  • Jamaal Williams Has RB2 Floor In Week 5

Detroit Lions running back Jamaal Williams will once again be the workhorse back against the New England Patriots with D'Andre Swift (shoulder, ankle) out of action. The Patriots are the sixth-toughest defense against fantasy running backs through four weeks, but Williams' workload gives him an RB2 floor. With a ton of Lions' pass-catchers banged up, Williams could also see more work through the air. Ultimately, he's a must-start option since his workload is currently among the busiest in the NFL while Swift remains out.

  • Jamaal Williams Scores Twice In Loss

Detroit Lions running back Jamaal Williams scored two touchdowns for the third time in four games this season. Williams is a solid flex play no matter what, but while D'Andre Swift (ankle, shoulder) is out, he's a must-start option. James Conner finished as an RB1 last season thanks to a high number of TDs, and Williams is on that track in 2022. Despite a tough matchup with New England in Week 5, Williams should be started if Swift is out after three strong fantasy performances.

  • Jamaal Williams Has RB2 Floor In Week 4

Detroit Lions running back Jamaal Williams is expected to handle a hefty workload if D'Andre Swift (shoulder, ankle) is out, which is likely going to be the case. The Seahawks have allowed the 10th-most fantasy points to running backs thus far, and Williams already has two multiple-touchdown weeks on his 2022 resume. A 20-plus touch workload is likely in the absence of Swift, so that alone makes him a virtual must-start. Craig Reynolds will likely have somewhat of a role, too, but this is clearly Williams' backfield in Week 4. Detroit could opt to lean on the run game with Amon-Ra St. Brown (ankle) out.

  • Jamaal Williams A Low-End Flex Play

Detroit Lions running back Jamaal Williams produced just seven fantasy points in Week 2, confirming he's a mere touchdown-or-bust deep league flex play. Despite out-touching D'Andre Swift 13 to seven, his touches weren't valuable, so he didn't pay off for fantasy managers. Williams doesn't get enough receiving work to have a ton of consistent standalone value, so expect plenty of bust weeks moving forward. In standard leagues, he's a little bit more attractive since touchdowns and rushing yards are more valuable than in PPR leagues, but he's still far from as sure that. All that said, he's a great option if Swift (ankle) misses this contest.

  • Jamaal Williams Fails To Score In Win

Detroit Lions running back Jamaal Williams failed to reach the end zone in the win against the Washington Commanders, so he failed to deliver a solid fantasy performance. He's a touchdown-or-bust flex option in deep leagues, so there will be plenty of times he won't produce a ton of fantasy points. Williams saw 13 touches to D'Andre Swift's seven, but Swift got the loan touchdown from the running back position. Williams' fantasy outlook will be the same all year as long as Swift is active -- risky flex play with decent upside. Unless Swift is inactive at some point this year, there are likely better options in the flex spot at wide receiver.

  • Jamaal Williams Has Flex Appeal In Week 2

Detroit Lions running back Jamaal Williams scored two touchdowns against the Philadelphia Eagles but wasn't an efficient runner or receiver in the contest. He could be a touchdown-or-bust guy, meaning his attractiveness as a flex play is dependent on the size of the fantasy league. However, if D'Andre Swift (ankle) is inactive against the Washington Commanders, he is a must-start option as the workhorse back for Detroit. The Lions' offense looks to have enough firepower to score fantasy points, so the featured back in the offense should always be considered. If Swift does play, Williams is a boom-or-bust option.

  • Jamaal Williams A Deep-League Flex Option

Detroit Lions running back Jamaal Williams doesn't warrant consideration in shallow leagues, but for fantasy managers in a pinch at flex in deep leagues, he might be a solid option. D'Andre Swift is expected to be the lead back in the Lions offense, with Williams potentially getting some work in the red zone. His PPR upside is capped by a lack of a receiver role, but he might be a touchdown vulture to Swift. Don't expect a huge day from Williams as a touchdown-dependent running back, but again, he's a fine deep-league flex play for those in desperation. The Eagles gave up the sixth-most fantasy points to running backs last season.
