  • Saints, Jamaal Williams Agree To Three-Year Deal

The New Orleans Saints and former Detroit Lions running back Jamaal Williams agreed to a three-year deal on Wednesday, according to a source. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Williams led the NFL with 17 rushing touchdowns last year in Detroit, adding his first 1,000-yard season on a career-high 262 carries. He also added 12 catches for an additional 73 yards. The addition of Williams is very bad news for Alvin Kamara, whose fantasy stock was already shaky with a potential suspension looming in 2023 for off-the-field conduct. Kamara could still be useful in PPR leagues, but he's surely no longer an outright RB1 for fantasy managers. Williams should also be expected to see plenty of regression with his new club, especially in the TD department.

  • Jamaal Williams Generating Plenty Of Interest

There is mutual interest in the Detroit Lions re-signing Jamaal Williams, but the Buffalo Bills, Cincinnati Bengals and New York Jets are all very interested in him as well, according to a source. It's obvious as to why there is a lot of interest in Williams in free agency. The 27-year-old led the NFL with 17 rushing touchdowns in 2022 and also had a career-high 1,066 rushing yards in 17 games for Detroit. The Lions are the favorites to retain him, where he'll arguably have the most fantasy value with D'Andre Swift unable to stay healthy. Fantasy managers can't expect Williams to go off in the touchdown department in 2023, but he should continue to have a big role if he remains in Motown.

  • Bills, Bengals, Jets Interested In RB Jamaal Williams

Running back Jamaal Williams would like to return to the Lions, and the team would like to have him back. However, it appears that Detroit will have competition for Williams’ services. Per Tyler Dunne of GoLongTD.com, the Bills, Bengals, and Jets are all interested in Williams, who will turn 28 in April and who is […]

  • Lions, Jamaal Williams Have Mutual Interest In Reunion

Detroit Lions general manager Brad Holmes said there is mutual interest between the team and impending free-agent running back Jamaal Williams in a reunion this offseason, and the two sides have had ongoing discussions. Williams will become an unrestricted free agent on March 15, and the Lions would like him back after he led the NFL with 17 rushing touchdowns in 2022. He also contributed a career-high 1,066 yards on 262 carries over 17 games in his second year in Detroit. The 27-year-old really stepped up for the Lions with D'Andre Swift missing more time with injury. There will be no shortage of suitors for Williams on the open market, and a return to Detroit in 2023 would be more bad news for Swift's falling fantasy stock.

  • Jamaal Williams Wants To Stay In Detroit

Detroit Lions running back Jamaal Williams is set to enter unrestricted free agency in March after enjoying a career-best season in which he led the NFL in rushing touchdowns. Following a Week 18 win over the Green Bay Packers, Williams insinuated that he would like to return to the team next season, and he reiterated this sentiment on Wednesday. "I really just want to stay with Detroit, if I can," the 27-year-old told the team's website. He also expressed a desire to play out the rest of his career as a Lion. Of course, Detroit has another talented back in D'Andre Swift under contract, but it should not come as a surprise if Williams returns on a team-friendly deal this offseason.

  • Jamaal Williams Rushes For Two Touchdowns In Win

Detroit Lions running back Jamaal Williams rushed 16 times for 72 yards and two rushing touchdowns in the 20-16 win over the Green Bay Packers in Week 18. Williams broke Barry Sanders' Lions' record for rushing touchdowns in a season, totaling 17 rushing scores on the season. Williams slowed down in the late part of the season but bounced back in the last two games when it mattered most. Williams is a free agent this off-season so it'll be interesting to see if the Lions bring him back in 2023. It might seem like a no-brainer, but Williams will be 28 years old when the season begins, and the Lions are in the midst of a youth movement.

  • Jamaal Williams Carries Risk Into Week 18

Detroit Lions running back Jamaal Williams finished outside the top 25 weekly fantasy running backs (half-PPR) from Week 12 to Week 16 and became an unplayable fantasy option. However, he bounced back in Week 17 against the Chicago Bears, rushing 22 times for 144 yards and his 15th rushing touchdown of the season. However, the Lions were solidly in control of the game and Chicago has one of the worst defenses against fantasy running backs. That said, Williams is game-script-dependent and touchdown-dependent at this point in the year. The Lions are unlikely to blow out the Green Bay Packers, so Williams has a low floor in this contest. Additionally, If the Seattle Seahawks beat the Los Angeles Rams before this game kicks off, Detroit will already be eliminated from playoff contention, so there's also a risk the motivation could be lacking for this one.

  • Jamaal Williams Totals 157 Yards Versus Bears

Detroit Lions running back Jamaal Williams rushed 22 times for 144 yards and a touchdown and caught one pass for 13 yards in the blowout win over the Chicago Bears. It was Williams' first game with double-digit fantasy points since Week 12, so he delivered for fantasy managers who started him in their championship game. Williams now has 15 rushing touchdowns on the season and remains a boom-or-bust flex play next week against the Green Bay Packers.
