  • Browns Notes: Clowney, Stefanski, Watson, Johnson

Jadeveon Clowney made plenty of headlines recently with his remarks suggesting the Browns made a concerted effort on multiple occasions to give fellow edge rusher Myles Garrett favorable one-on-one matchups this season. The incident led to the 29-year-old being sent home for the season finale, and provided a further sign that he will be playing elsewhere […]

  • Deshaun Watson Struggles In Season Finale

Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson struggled in a 28-14 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 18. Watson completed 19 of his 29 passes for 230 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions while adding 44 yards on six carries in the loss. The veteran quarterback was not at his best in the season finale, throwing two ugly interceptions which led to 10 points for the Steelers. Watson wraps up his first season in Cleveland with 1,102 passing yards, seven touchdowns, and five interceptions across six contests. With a full offseason in Cleveland ahead of him, Watson will be an upside QB2 heading into the 2023 season.

  • Deshaun Watson A QB2 In Week 18

Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson will wrap up his 2022 season with a road matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Watson had his best game as a member of the Browns last week, throwing for three second-half touchdowns to help down the Washington Commanders. Pittsburgh represents a neutral matchup for Watson as they are allowing the 15th-most fantasy points per game to the quarterback position. Watson is in play as a QB2 in fantasy and is interesting as a potentially low-rostered option in DFS tournaments in Week 18.

  • Browns, DE Jadeveon Clowney Interested In Continuing Relationship; Latest On Coaching Staff

Browns defensive end Jadeveon Clowney joined Cleveland on a one-year contract in 2021, and he signed another one-year deal to remain with the team last offseason. Per Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com, player and team are interested in continuing their relationship in 2023, and perhaps beyond. Clowney never landed the massive, $20MM/year contract he was […]

  • Deshaun Watson A QB2 Vs. Washington

Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson will go on the road to face off against the Washington Commanders in Week 17. Watson has thrown just two touchdowns compared to three interceptions in his four games with the Browns in 2022, although he did add a rushing score last week. This week, the veteran quarterback draws a neutral matchup against a Washington secondary that is allowing the 16th-fewest fantasy points per game to quarterbacks while ranking 16th in pass-defense DVOA. Watson has yet to show the form that got him selected to Pro Bowls when he was on the Houston Texans, so fantasy managers should continue to treat him as a QB2 until he proves otherwise.

  • Deshaun Watson Runs For A TD In Week 16

Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson completed 15 of his 31 passes for 135 yards and an interception while adding 24 yards and a touchdown on three carries in a 17-10 loss to the New Orleans Saints in Week 16. Watson found the end zone on a 12-yard run early in the second quarter but the offense mostly struggled after that. His interception gave the Saints excellent field position at the Cleveland 15-yard line, a possession that they turned into an Alvin Kamara touchdown run. Watson should have had a touchdown pass in the contest but a wide-open Amari Cooper slipped in the end zone and couldn't secure the ball. Watson has yet to score more than one touchdown in any of his four games as Cleveland's starting quarterback. He will be a QB2 in Week 17 against the Washington Commanders.

  • Deshaun Watson A QB2 Vs. Saints

Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson has now thrown two touchdowns and two interceptions in his three games since being reinstated from an 11-game suspension. He will face off against the New Orleans Saints at home in Week 16. The Saints have been solid against the pass this season, allowing the 11th-fewest fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks while their pass defense ranks 12th in DVOA. With snow, wind, and extremely cold weather in the forecast in Cleveland on Saturday, this sets up as a game where the Browns could lean on Nick Chubb and the running game instead of asking Watson to win it with his arm. Treat Watson as a low-end QB2 for Week 16.

  • Deshaun Watson Throws TD In Week 15

Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson completed 18 of his 28 passes for 161 yards and a touchdown while adding 22 yards on six carries in a 13-3 win over the Baltimore Ravens in Week 15. Watson didn't post huge stats but he played well in the contest, especially in the first half where he completed 13 of his 18 pass attempts. He took care of the ball and found Donovan Peoples-Jones for a three-yard touchdown in the third quarter to put the game out of reach for Baltimore. Watson now has two touchdowns and two interceptions through three games for the Browns. He will be a QB2 in Week 16 against the New Orleans Saints.

  • Deshaun Watson Should Start Going Deep More Often

Cleveland Browns offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt said that deep attempts from quarterback Deshaun Watson should start to come more as he gets more comfortable with the offense. Watson was suspended for the first 11 games of the season and just finished his second game of the year in the Week 14 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals, where he went 26-for-42 for 276 yards, his first touchdown of the year and an interception. He also had six carries for 33 yards on the ground. The 27-year-old looked better than he did in his season debut the previous week, but he's averaging just 5.27 air yards per attempt in his first two games. Watson should continue to get more comfortable to close out the year, but he should still be considered a QB2 for another divisional matchup against the Baltimore Ravens on Saturday.

  • Deshaun Watson A QB2 In Week 15

Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson has struggled a bit in his first two games back from an 11-game suspension. Over that span, Watson has completed 38 of his 64 passes for 407 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions. He will look to turn that around in Week 15 against the Baltimore Ravens at home. The Ravens have been a decent matchup for quarterbacks in 2022, allowing the 11th-most fantasy points per game to the position thus far. That being said, it is the first week of the fantasy playoffs and managers looking to move into the second round will want to tab a safer play at the quarterback position in Week 15. Treat Watson as a low-end QB2 this week.

  • Deshaun Watson Throws TD, INT In Week 14 Loss

Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson completed 26 of his 42 passes for 276 yards, one touchdown, and one interception in a 23-10 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 14. Watson was productive on the ground, picking up 33 yards on six carries in the loss. While he looked better than he did in his season debut last week, Watson still has a long way to go to reach the All-Pro form he displayed back when he was part of the Houston Texans. Watson's lone touchdown went to David Njoku on a 13-yard pass in the third quarter. His interception came in the fourth quarter when he was targeting Donovan Peoples-Jones while Cleveland was still within striking distance in the game. Next up in Week 15 will be a Saturday night game against the Baltimore Ravens at home. Watson is best left on fantasy benches until he starts to show that the rust has been completely shaken off.

  • Deshaun Watson Still Trying To Get In Sync

Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson missed the first 11 games of the season due to a suspension and returned last Sunday to play in a regular season game for the first time in 700 days. He was rusty and completed just 12 of 22 passes for 131 yards with an interception for a career-low 53.4 passer rating in the win over the Houston Texans. Watson admitted that he was out of sync and acknowledges that he may not return to his previous Pro Bowl form right away. There were clear timing issues on several throws to his receivers, so he still needs to get on the same page with his teammates. Things won't get any easier in his second game of the year this Sunday against the division-rival Cincinnati Bengals. Fantasy managers should continue to treat Watson as a QB2 in fantasy until further notice.

  • Deshaun Watson Remains The Browns Starter

Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski reiterated that quarterback Deshaun Watson will remain the starter under center despite looking extremely rusty in his season debut in the Week 13 win over his former team, the Houston Texans. In his regular season game in 700 days, Watson went 12-for-22 for 131 yards, no touchdowns and one interception for a 53.4 QB rating. He looked pretty bad, but Stefanski is confident that Watson will be better with one game under his belt. Watson looked sharp in practice on Wednesday, and he should be getting tight end David Njoku (knee) back this Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals. Watson should get more comfortable down the stretch, but fantasy managers should consider him a QB2 until further notice.

  • Deshaun Watson A QB2 In Week 14

Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson was rusty in his 2022 debut, throwing for just 131 yards and an interception in Week 13. He will look to continue to shake off the rust in a Week 14 road matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals. The Bengals have been tough on opposing quarterbacks this season, allowing the sixth-fewest fantasy points per game to the position and boasting a pass defense ranked 10th in DVOA. Watson should eventually round into his pre-2021 form but fantasy gamers would be wise to let him prove he's back up to speed on their benches before trusting him in starting lineups. Treat Watson as a mid-range QB2 in Week 14.

  • Deshaun Watson Rusty In Week 13 Return

Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson completed 12 of his 22 passes for 131 yards and an interception while adding 21 yards on seven carries in a 27-14 win over the Houston Texans in Week 13. Watson was predictably rusty in his first NFL game since the end of the 2020 season. He misfired on several makeable throws while tossing a bad interception in the end zone while targeting Amari Cooper. Better days are surely ahead for Watson on the field as he has proven to be a talented quarterback, but it could take some time for him to get reacclimated to the speed of the game. He will be an upside QB2 in Week 14's road matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals.

The 2022 offseason saw a plethora of new head coaching hires around the league, though in some cases teams may very well have come to regret their additions. • Deshaun Watson A Low-End QB1 In Week 13

Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson will make his season debut against the Houston Texans in Week 13. Watson is fresh off of serving an 11-game suspension and will face off against a Houston defense that ranks 24th in pass-defense DVOA. The Texans have been tough on quarterbacks in 2022, allowing the third-fewest fantasy points per game to the position thus far, although some of that may be a result of Houston's offense struggling to keep games competitive. Watson hasn't appeared in a regular-season game since the end of the 2020 season, so some rust is to be expected. That being said, he has plenty of weapons around him in Cleveland and should be motivated to play well against his former squad. Treat Watson as a low-end QB1 heading into Week 13.

  • Deshaun Watson Officially Reinstated

Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson has been officially reinstated following his 11-game suspension. The 27-year-old was suspended for violating the NFL's personal-conduct policy. He's eligible to practice on Monday and is expected to make his season debut against the Houston Texans in Week 13. Watson will take over the starting duties from Jacoby Brissett who did a fine job to start the season. Everyone knows how talented Watson is, but he hasn't played a professional snap since 2020. He might need time to shake off the rust, but luckily he'll have a favorable matchup against the Texans.

  • Deshaun Watson Eligible To Practice Monday

Under the terms of his 11-game suspension by the league for violating the NFL's personal-conduct policy, Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson is eligible to begin practicing with the team, effective on Monday. Watson can make his 2022 season debut in Week 13 at the Houston Texans, his former team. The 27-year-old has been working out at the team's facilities over the last month while taking part in meetings, but now he'll be able to get back out on the practice field. Watson will immediately take over starting duties from Jacoby Brissett in Week 13 and should make this Browns offense much more dynamic, but he will also be shaking off a lot of rust. Remember, Watson hasn't played a competitive regular season game since 2020. He's currently rostered in 37 percent of Yahoo leagues.

  • Deshaun Watson Set To Practice Next Week

Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson is expected to join the team for practice early next week. Watson was suspended for 11 contests before the start of the regular season and will be eligible to return to game action in Week 13 when the Browns face Watson's former team, the Houston Texans. Although Jacoby Brissett has been solid, Cleveland has confirmed that Watson will indeed be the starter when active. The 27-year-old has not taken a snap in the regular season since 2020, so he may be a bit rusty at first, but fantasy managers should expect the Browns' offensive weapons to take a step forward with Watson under center.
