  • Teams Calling About Deshaun Watson

Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson is not happy with the team after they did not include him in the search for new general manager Nick Caserio. As a result, teams have started calling the Texans to find out if Watson is available in a trade. Owner Cal McNair and the front office haven't said that they are looking to trade Watson, and Watson himself has not asked for a trade. There is plenty of speculation out there as to where Watson might land if he is traded, with the Jaguars, Jets and Dolphins as potential landing spots. The Panthers could also be another team in the mix if Watson actually becomes available. Right now it's all speculation, but it's interesting to imagine the 25-year-old dual-threat QB playing elsewhere. If Watson really wants to leave, he also has a no-trade clause, so he could dictate where he goes next. A trade could increase Watson's outlook heading into the 2021 season, but he'll likely remain a top-five fantasy QB regardless.

  • Houston Interviews Leslie Frazier For Head Coach Gig

The Houston Texans are meeting with Buffalo Bills defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier on Sunday as the team continues it's search for its next head coach. Frazier advanced to the AFC Championship Game on Saturday, with his defense holding Lamar Jackson and the Ravens without a touchdown. Frazier's only prior head coaching gig came with the Vikings from 2010-13, where he led the team to one playoff appearance and a combined 21-32-1 regular-season record. The decision to hire a defensive-minded coach would be a pivot from where many have expected Houston to focus with quarterback Deshaun Watson apparently being consulted in the decision-making process. Stay tuned for updates on the organization's decision in the coming days.

  • Deshaun Watson, Texans Divide Continues

Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson wants out of Houston, according to an explosive Sports Illustrated story from Greg Bishop and Jenny Vrentas that highlights some of the issues Houston has faced over the past year. It sounds like the team's decision to give Jack Easterby an increasingly large voice in the direction of the franchise as well as the team ignoring Watson's preference for the team's GM position has led to issues. There's still a long time to go before we know what's going to happen with this situation.

  • Deshaun Watson Unhappy With Organization

Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson is extremely unhappy with the organization after owner Cal McNair told him he would be involved in the next general manager and head coach hiring process to provide feedback, but then did neither in their hire of Nick Caserio as the next GM, according to sources. The league's passing leader in 2020 was disappointed with his lack of involvement in the hiring process. Watson hasn't spoken with the team's brass in recent days, but they have tried to call him. The 25-year-old remains under contract until 2025 and proved he is still an elite fantasy quarterback without All-Pro receiver DeAndre Hopkins. Houston's porous defense played a part in that, but Watson should remain a top-five fantasy QB heading into 2021 fantasy drafts. He finished the 2020 season with 4,826 passing yards and 33 touchdowns while also rushing for 444 yards and three touchdowns.

  • Deshaun Watson's Heroic Effort Falls Just Short

Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson completed 28 of 39 passes for 365 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception in a 41-38 loss to the Titans. Down 24-9, Watson proceeded to lead his team to three scoring drives, two of which ended with touchdown passes to Brandin Cooks. The Texans may have gone 4-12, but it was no fault of their star quarterback, whose numbers are incredible- career-highs in yards, 4,823 and touchdowns, 33, as well as completion percentage and yards per attempt. Watson is a superstar- and we can only hope the Texans figure things out this offseason for his sake. As for fantasy, the 25-year-old combines a rocket arm with sneaky-good rushing ability and deserves to be one of the first five signal-callers off the board in 2021.

  • Deshaun Watson Should End Season On High Note

Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson won't be heading to the playoffs, but it looks like he's set to start in Houston's season finale against a Titans Defense that has struggled at times this season. He threw four touchdowns in the first meeting between these teams and should be considered a high-end QB1 play barring some sudden change to his availability before kickoff.

  • Deshaun Watson's Elbow Injury Not Serious

Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson (elbow) plans to play in Week 17. Watson was taken off the field and looked at by the medical staff late in Sunday's loss to the Bengals, though he has since said he's healthy. The star quarterback has put together his best season as a pro, setting career-highs in yards, completion percentage, and touchdown passes, breaking a franchise record with 30 scores. In all likelihood, Watson will be out there for the team's final game against the Titans' poor pass defense.

  • Deshaun Watson Throws For 324 Yards And Three Touchdowns

Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson completed 24 of 33 passes for 324 yards and three touchdowns in a 37-31 loss to the Bengals. Watson added 38 yards on the ground for his eighth game with at least 300 passing yards and two touchdowns this season. The star signal-caller uncorked a beautiful, 25-yard touchdown pass to Brandin Cooks after escaping the rush to tie the game at the end of the first half. Watson owns 30 touchdown passes to just six interceptions heading into the season finale against the Titans, who allowed 335 yards and four scores to Watson earlier in the year.

  • Deshaun Watson A Strong Play In Week 16

Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson will take on the Bengals' 20th-ranked pass defense in Week 16. Cincinnati has been more of a run-funnel defense, as they rank 26th against the ground game, though this is still an exploitable matchup by air or by land. Watson has thrown for at least 250 passing yards and two touchdowns in nine games this year, as the 25-year-old has been one of the most consistent options at his position. The one downside here is if Houston jumps out to a lead, meaning Watson's arm would no longer be needed. Still, the star signal-caller should be able to dissect this defense enough to warrant starting him as a top-eight option this week.

  • Deshaun Watson A Low-End QB1 Against Colts

Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson faces the Colts in a Week 15 divisional battle. Watson has cooled off ever-so-slightly as a passer, with just one passing touchdown in his last two games after tossing seven in the three contests prior. However, he'll have a chance for a bounce-back performance against a Colts' secondary that has surrendered the third-most passing yards over the last four weeks, in addition to three rushing scores allowed. Fantasy managers should expect a bounce-back from Watson, who should also have a safe floor thanks to his running ability. Start him as a low-end QB1 in Week 15.

  • Texans Won't Shut Down Deshaun Watson

Houston Texans interim head coach Romeo Crennel said that the team won't shut down quarterback Deshaun Watson for the final three games of the season after the club was eliminated from postseason contention last weekend. Watson is on pace to set career highs in completion percentage (68.9), passing yards per game (289.3), touchdown-to-interception ratio (25-6) and passer rating (109.4). However, he's also been sacked 39 times, third-most in the league. His 164 sacks in four years are the fourth-most in a player's first 51 games since 1970. Watson is facing a Colts Defense in Week 15 that sacked him five times in Week 13. He threw for 341 yards against them that week, though, and he will be getting running back David Johnson back from the COVID-19 list. Watson won't be as bad as he was last week in the blowout loss to Chicago, but he'll be more of a low-end QB1 in another tough draw.

  • Deshaun Watson Tosses Touchdown Against Bears

Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson threw for 219 yards and a touchdown in Sunday;s 36-7 loss to the Chicago Bears. He was 21-for-30 throwing the ball and also added 38 rushing yards on seven carries. It was a nightmare game for an injured Texans team, who only managed to score one touchdown during the entire game. Watson's a talented quarterback and a QB1 play in season-long leagues, but if Houston doesn't get healthy in a hurry, he'll be someone to avoid in DFS contests next week.

  • Deshaun Watson Returns To Game Late In The Third

Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson (undisclosed) was taken out of Sunday's game against the Chicago Bears late in the third quarter, but he returned shortly after. Watson was shaken up on a play and went to the sidelines, where he was attended to by trainers. AJ McCarron took over for a few plays before Watson returned. The Bears are up several scores in the game so it's somewhat surprising that Watson came back in so soon, but it's good news for Watson's fantasy owners to see him back on the field regardless.

  • Deshaun Watson A Top-12 Option Against Bears

Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson gets a favorable matchup against the Bears Defense in Week 14. Chicago has allowed at least two touchdown passes to opposing signal-callers in each of their last six games and has been particularly giving lately, with 613 passing yards and seven scores allowed since their Week 11 bye. Enter Watson, who has finished as a QB1 or better seven times this year, with a few QB2 finishes sprinkled in. The former Clemson star has been as steady a fantasy option as they come with a stable floor. Watson should be able to produce a top-12 fantasy finish against the Bears.

  • Deshaun Watson Accounts For 379 Total Yards, One Score

Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson completed 26 of 38 passes for 341 yards and an interception in the 26-20 loss to the Colts. Watson added 38 rushing yards, two fumbles, and a score, as he kept the Texans in the game throughout. The star signal-caller was scrambling around all day- his day could be summed up on one first-quarter play where he was under duress and proceeded to launch the ball downfield to Keke Coutee for a big play. While this was far from Watson's best statistical output, it was nice to see him have some success in the passing game sans Will Fuller V (suspension). He'll look to limit the turnovers in a contest with the struggling Bears in Week 14.

  • Deshaun Watson Remains A QB1 Despite Matchup

Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson will be facing off with the tough Colts' defense for the first time this season in Week 13. Watson will be doing so without the services of his favorite target, Will Fuller V (suspension), who will miss the rest of the season after being suspended for PEDs. While the loss of Fuller certainly hurts, it's not enough to completely downgrade Watson, who has averaged 291 passing yards and 2.5 passing touchdowns per game over his last six contests. Houston has also struggled to run the ball this year and could struggle to do so against Indianapolis, meaning they'll need Watson's arm. Start him as a solid QB1 in Week 13.

  • Deshaun Watson Wants Texans To Re-Sign Will Fuller V

Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson thinks it's "very important" that the team re-signs wide receiver Will Fuller V, who will be a free agent after this season. Fuller, who was suspended for six games for violating the league's performance-enhancing drug policy, is playing this season on his fifth-year option. Houston took trade offers for Fuller before the Nov. 3 deadline, but they ultimately decided to keep him. In 11 games in 2020, the team's top wideout had 53 catches for 879 yards and eight touchdowns. His absence the rest of the season is a huge loss for the Texans and fantasy managers, as Fuller was a top-five fantasy receiver through 12 weeks. Brandin Cooks and Keke Coutee will be the club's top two wideouts in Week 13 with Randall Cobb still nursing an injury. Rookie Isaiah Coulter will also see a boost in playing time in three-receiver sets this weekend against a tough Colts Defense.

  • Deshaun Watson Feasts on Thanksgiving Against Lions

Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson completed 17 of 25 passes for 318 passing yards with four scores and added 24 rushing yards in a 41-25 win over the Lions on Thanksgiving. Watson had it all working today, though his deep-ball connection with Will Fuller V stole the show, as the two hooked up for two touchdowns of 30 yards or more. The 25-year-old is playing on another level right now, with 16 total touchdowns and no interceptions in his last six games. No one is benching Watson next week, though expectations should be tempered a bit when he faces off with the Colts' 4th-ranked pass defense.

  • Deshaun Watson A Top-Five Option In Week 12

Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson has been an excellent fantasy signal-caller this season. Watson currently sits as the QB6 and aside from a windy, messy game against Cleveland, he's finished as a QB1 in five of his last six games. On the table for Watson is a Thanksgiving matchup with the Lions' 25th-ranked pass defense that has surrendered the ninth-most plays through the air of 20 yards or more. The former Clemson star is as consistent as they come and should be started as an elite QB1 in Week 12. He has the upside to finish as the overall QB1 this week.

  • Deshaun Watson Bounces Back In Win Over Patriots

Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson completed 28 of 37 passes for 344 yards, two passing touchdowns, and a rushing score in a 27-20 victory over New England. Watson had virtually no running game all day- he led the team in rushing yards- and was forced to make something happen. Make something happen, he did, as he answered both the Patriots' first couple of scoring drives with touchdown drives of his own to give Houston a 14-10 lead. It's Watson's fifth 300-yard game this season and his seventh multi-touchdown pass game. He'll have a great chance to stay hot next week against the Lions' poor defense.

  • Deshaun Watson Gets Bounce-Back Spot In Week 11

Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson gets a great chance to redeem himself against the Patriots in Week 11 after last week's dud. Week 10 was the first time Watson has failed to throw for at least 250 yards this year and just the third time that he's been held to one touchdown pass- that's how good he's been this season. The Texans will likely need to rely on Watson's arm against New England's 10th-ranked pass defense that has shown some leaks at times this year. If you have Watson, start him again this week, as he's been too consistent to turn away from after one bad game.

  • Deshaun Watson Struggles In Loss

Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson completed 20 of 30 passes for 163 yards and a touchdown in a 10-7 loss. Watson struggled in the windy and rainy conditions, which weren't ideal for chucking the ball down the field. That largely contributed to his season-low 5.4 yards per attempt, though it didn't help that he was under duress on several plays. Watson gets a good chance to redeem himself in Week 11 against a struggling Patriots' defense. He'll be a solid QB1 for that contest.

  • Deshaun Watson A Top-Tier Option In Week 10

Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson gets a great matchup in Week 10 against the Browns. Watson is coming into the week hot, having thrown for at least 300 yards and two scores in four of his last five contests. He's also finished as a QB1 in each of his last four games. The Browns' defense has surrendered the 11th-most passing yards and the seventh-most passing touchdowns to opposing signal-callers this season, making this an exploitable matchup for Watson. Watson has a safe floor this week and also possesses top-five upside at the quarterback position. He's a must-start against Cleveland.

  • Deshaun Watson Throws For 281 Yards, Two Scores

Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson completed 19 of 32 passes for 281 yards and two scores. Watson averaged a healthy 8.8 yards per attempt and even added 50 yards on the ground in another strong showing against the Jaguars. The 25-year-old has been about as steady as they come this year- he has at least 250 passing yards and two touchdowns in each of his last six games while averaging a career-high 8.8 yards per attempt. Watson will look to stay hot in Week 10 against the Browns, who will be coming off their bye week.

  • Deshaun Watson An Elite Play Against Jaguars

Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson has been red-hot in his last several games. Watson has thrown for at least 300 yards and two scores in each of his last four games with a matchup against the Jaguars on tap for Week 9. Jacksonville has allowed the fourth-most fantasy points per game to opposing signal-callers and has already surrendered 359 yards and three touchdowns to Watson this year in their first meeting, which was Houston's only win over the season so far. The only worry managers should have with this matchup is if Houston builds a big lead early and takes the air out of the ball in the second half. Either way, Watson should have his way with this defense and put up strong QB1 numbers.
