  • Deshaun Watson Says He'll Play Sunday

    Headshot for Deshaun Watson

Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson (shoulder) is listed as questionable for the Week 4 game on Sunday against the division-rival Baltimore Ravens, but he said after practice on Friday that "I'm OK, I'll play." Watson said his right shoulder is sore and that there's no structural damage and that he expects to be fine moving forward. The injury occurred on one of the hard shots he took in the Week 3 win over the Tennessee Titans, but he wasn't sure which one. Head coach Kevin Stefanski said he can mostly run the same offense with rookie Dorian Thompson-Robinson if Watson can't go. Cleveland has a bye in Week 5, which will give Watson more time to rest his shoulder. The 28-year-old will look to keep things going after a strong game last Sunday. Watson should be considered a high-end QB2 against Baltimore.

  • Deshaun Watson Listed As Questionable For Sunday

    Headshot for Deshaun Watson

Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson (shoulder) is questionable to play in Week 4 on Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens. Watson was limited in practice all week and did some more light throwing in Friday's practice. The Browns were seemingly just managing the 28-year-old's repetitions this week and the team is hopeful that he'll suit up this weekend after having his best performance in a Browns uniform in a blowout win over the Tennessee Titans in Week 3. Fantasy managers that have been rolling with Watson will need to check Sunday morning inactives before locking him in. If he's surprisingly ruled out, rookie Dorian Thompson-Robinson would make his first career start.

  • Deshaun Watson Limited Again Thursday

    Headshot for Deshaun Watson

Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson (shoulder) had his practice repetitions limited on Thursday for the second straight day as he deals with a sore right throwing shoulder. Watson was able to do some throwing on Thursday and should do more in the final practice of the week on Friday before suiting up on Sunday for a Week 4 tilt with the division-rival Baltimore Ravens. The 28-year-old is mostly just being rested this week after his best performance as a member of the Browns in last week's blowout win over the Tennessee Titans. Watson appears to be getting more comfortable in this offense and will be a low-end QB1/high-end QB2 this weekend in a more difficult matchup against Baltimore.

  • Deshaun Watson Resting His Shoulder

    Headshot for Deshaun Watson

Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson (shoulder) was on the field for the team's practice on Wednesday but didn't throw at all in the portion open to the media in order to rest his right shoulder. It's not expected to keep him from playing in Week 4 against the division-rival Baltimore Ravens. Watson, who is coming off arguably his best game in a Browns uniform in the convincing win over the Tennessee Titans in Week 3, should return to the practice field later this week and will be looking to keep things rolling this Sunday. He's developed some nice chemistry with top wideout Amari Cooper and should continue feeding him with running back Nick Chubb (knee) out for the rest of the year.

    Headshot for Deshaun Watson

Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson completed 27 of his 33 passes for 289 yards and two touchdowns while adding 16 yards on the ground in a 27-3 win over the Tennessee Titans in Week 3. Watson bounced back from a rough Week 2 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers to shred the Titans on Sunday. He found Amari Cooper and Jerome Ford for his two touchdown tosses in the easy win over Tennessee. Watson now has thrown for 678 yards, four touchdowns, and two interceptions through three games. Now trending upwards, Watson will next take on the Baltimore Ravens at home.

  • Deshaun Watson A High-End QB2 Vs. Titans

    Headshot for Deshaun Watson

Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson struggled in a 26-22 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 2, throwing a pick-six and losing a fumble that was returned 17 yards for a touchdown. He will look to bounce back at home against the Tennessee Titans in Week 3. Watson has a few things going for him this week as the Titans have been stout against the run but struggle to defend the pass. The Browns could use that, plus the fact that they lost Nick Chubb for the season, to dial up more passing plays for Watson and his receivers. Watson has not played well since taking over as QB for the Browns last season but he has enough working in his favor to treat as a high-end QB2 in fantasy for Week 3.

  • Deshaun Watson Won't Face Discipline For Contacting Official

    Headshot for Deshaun Watson

Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson drew two facemask penalties in the Monday Night Football loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, but will not face disciplinary action from the NFL for making contact with an official. Watson pulled a referee to the side on Monday night while talking to members of the Steelers sideline. The 28-year-old could be fined for his facemask penalties but is in no danger of facing a suspension, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.

  • Deshaun Watson Facing Suspension?

    Headshot for Deshaun Watson

When asked about the possibility of Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson facing a potential suspension after two blatant face-mask fouls and his shove of an official in Monday night's loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, a source said, "All plays will be evaluated and assessed today." Watson looked bad for the second straight week to open the season in the Week 2 loss, going 22-for-40 for 235 yards with a touchdown and an interception while losing two fumbles and running in a two-point conversion. The 28-year-old just doesn't look comfortable in Cleveland's offense yet after playing in only eight games in 2022 following a lengthy suspension. And now the Browns have lost star running back Nick Chubb (knee) for the year. Any suspension for Watson would force rookie Dorian Thompson-Robinson into his first career start.

  • Deshaun Watson Struggles In MNF Defeat

    Headshot for Deshaun Watson

Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson had a rough night in a 26-22 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 2. Watson completed 22 of his 40 passes for 235 yards, one touchdown, and one interception in the disappointing loss to his team's division rivals, while adding six rushes for 22 yards. He threw a pick-six on his very first play from scrimmage on a deflected pass. Later, in the fourth quarter with the Browns clinging to a 19-16 lead, he lost a fumble that was scooped up and returned 17 yards for a touchdown by T.J. Watt. Watson's lone touchdown pass went to Jerome Ford. He will look to regroup ahead of a Week 3 matchup against the Tennessee Titans.

  • Deshaun Watson - Week 2 Outlook for Fantasy Football

    Headshot for Deshaun Watson

Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson turned in a solid performance in a Week 1 win over the Cincinnati Bengals, accounting for two touchdowns. He will look to keep it going in Week 2's Monday night game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Steelers struggled against Brock Purdy and the 49ers offense in Week 1, allowing two passing touchdowns and a total of 30 points. Watson has been providing a solid floor from a rushing perspective since joining the Browns, which keeps him in the conversation as a high-end QB2 in Week 2.

  • Jack Conklin Suffers Torn ACL, MCL

    Headshot for Nick Chubb

Cleveland Browns right tackle Jack Conklin (knee) suffered a torn ACL and MCL in the team's Week 1 win over the Cincinnati Bengals, effectively ending his 2023 season. The two-time first-team All-Pro selection suffered a torn ACL in 2017, so a second major knee injury is disappointing. Rookie fourth-round pick Dawand Jones is slated to start at right tackle moving forward. Running back Nick Chubb and quarterback Deshaun Watson could be slightly affected by a downgraded overall offensive line.

  • Deshaun Watson Accounts For Two TDs In Week 1 Win

    Headshot for Deshaun Watson

Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson completed 16 of his 29 passes for 154 yards, one touchdown, and one interception in a 24-3 win over the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 1. Watson added five rushes for 45 yards, a touchdown, and a two-point conversion on the ground in the win. The veteran quarterback supplemented his modest passing numbers with solid numbers on the ground in a game where the Browns led the entire way and were able to lean on the ground attack. While he turned in a productive fantasy afternoon, the jury is still out on whether Watson can regain his Houston Texans form, leaving him as a QB2 in Week 2's road matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

  • Deshaun Watson A Mid-Range QB2 In Week 1

    Headshot for Deshaun Watson

Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson will open up his 2023 season with a home matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals. Watson struggled over his six games last season and draws a tough matchup against a Cincy defense that allowed the third-fewest fantasy points per game to the QB position in 2022. The reports out of this past training camp regarding Watson were also slightly concerning, making it hard to have full faith in Watson as a fantasy QB1 in the season opener. He is best deployed as a mid-range QB2 heading into Week 1.

  • Deshaun Watson, Browns Passing Game Haven't Been Impressive

    Headshot for Deshaun Watson

The Athletic's Zac Jackson writes that the Cleveland Browns' passing game in training camp to this point has been completely unimpressive. Quarterback Deshaun Watson has been an adventure in the pocket, and he hasn't had a string of consecutive completions in 11-on-11 team drills since early in camp. There hasn't been much consistency, although that could change when wide receivers Amari Cooper and Elijah Moore (ribs) start playing fully. Watson threw bad interceptions after getting caught locking in on one receiver in each day of joint practices this week. The 27-year-old looked very rusty in his return in 2022 after a long layoff due to suspension, but most fantasy managers are expecting him to bounce back to a QB1 level in 2023. Watson and the Browns offense have work to do if that's going to come to fruition.

Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson started and played in the first offensive series in a 17-15 loss to the Washington Commanders in his team's second preseason game on Friday. Watson completed all three of his passes for 12 yards while adding 20 yards on three carries in the contest. In his lone series, Watson led Cleveland all the way down to the Washington one-yard line but they were unable to score, with running back John Kelly Jr. getting stuffed on a rushing attempt on fourth-and-goal. Watson is locked in as Cleveland's starting quarterback and this may be all we see of him on the field in preseason action.

  • Deshaun Watson To Start Friday's Preseason Game

    Headshot for Deshaun Watson

Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson confirmed on Wednesday that he will start the team's preseason contest on Friday against the Washington Commanders. Watson was held out of last Thursday's Hall of Fame game against the New York Jets, and he's unlikely to play a ton in his first preseason action on Friday. The 27-year-old signal-caller was understandably rusty after making his Browns debut in 2022 following a lengthy suspension. Now the question is can he get back to his pre-suspension form? Watson will need to improve his efficiency, especially when going deep, but he has the weapons to do it as long as he's healthy. The smart money is on Watson returning to being a top-10 fantasy QB in 2023.

Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson put together a strong offseason after struggling mightily in his six starts in 2022 after missing the first 11 games due to a suspension, according to a source with knowledge of the situation. Watson showed better command of the offensive scheme and accuracy this offseason, both areas where he struggled last year. Cleveland also added weapons for Watson in Elijah Moore, Marquise Goodwin and third-round rookie Cedric Tillman. The 27-year-old should be much better in his first full season as the Browns' starting QB, and he has the weapons to return to being a top-10 signal-caller for fantasy managers.

Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson is looking more comfortable in his second year in Cleveland, and he's also expecting to have more chemistry with top receiver Amari Cooper in 2023. He's also learning the team's playbook, which has a lot of new elements to it. Throughout organized team activities, Watson connected with his wideouts on more vertical passes and explosive plays down the field. The 27-year-old has made it a point to connect with his offensive teammates, specifically Cooper. Watson has posted videos of the two making plenty of explosive plays while training with Cooper and his personal QB coach Quincy Avery. "Amari's going to be good," Watson said.
