Another Lawsuit Filed Against Deshaun Watson
Another lawsuit has been filed against Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson, this one alleging that he assaulted a licensed aesthetician. The lawsuit said "Watson's behavior is part of a disturbing and escalating pattern" and was the 22nd lawsuit filed by Houston attorney Tony Buzbee against Watson since March 16. Eighteen women released statements through Watson's lawyer, saying they have worked with the quarterback and that he "never made them feel uncomfortable or demanded anything outside the scope of a professional massage." The 25-year-old publicly demanded a trade before these sexual-assault allegations surfaced, and while a trade is still expected, it may not come until the trade deadline or next year's draft. Teams are still interested in trading for Watson, but there's now a real possibility that he'll be suspended in 2021 or 2022.

Apr 2 · Pro Football Rumors Texans Alex Smith Deshaun WatsonTeams Still Interested In Trading For Deshaun Watson
There are still four to five teams that would like to trade for Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson despite off-the-field issues that have come up regarding some sexual-misconduct allegations that have turned into lawsuits. Watson hasn't been formally charged with any crime and the NFL will continue to investigate his legal matters as that situation develops. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport has not heard that the New England Patriots are one of the teams with interest in acquiring Watson. Rapoport will not rule out the Miami Dolphins or Chicago Bears. But the Texans continue to hold firm in their stance of not wanting to trade the 25-year-old signal-caller. If the were to trade him, it might not come until the trade deadline or until next year's draft. Watson's trade value has taken a hit no doubt, but unless he's formally charged with a crime and/or faces a potential suspension, there will be teams interested in his services.

Deshaun Watson Accused Of Sexual Assault
A third civil lawsuit filed against Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson accuses him of sexually assaulting a massage therapist by forcing her to have oral sex with him in December of last year. Houston attorney Tony Buzbee said there are nine total cases against Watson, but so far, only three civil lawsuits have been filed. NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy said "the matter is under review" of the league's personal-conduct policy. "Watson's behavior is part of a disturbing pattern of preying on vulnerable women," the third lawsuit reads. Watson responded on Twitter to say that this is "about clearing my name..." It's unclear if Watson will face some sort of suspension from the NFL after they investigate the matter, but this off-the-field issue could also have a huge impact on whether he gets his wish and is traded out of Houston. It's another storyline to watch surround Watson this offseason.

Deshaun Watson Remains Texans Quarterback
Houston Texans new head coach David Culley continued to say on Thursday that quarterback Deshaun Watson, who has publicly demanded a trade, "is our starting quarterback as of right now." Culley expanded on his comments and said that "hopefully in the future" Watson will also remain as the team's starting QB. The new head coach also added that the team is "very committed to Deshaun as our quarterback. He's our quarterback." "There is no contingency plan," Culley told reporters. Neither side has budged yet, but the Texans may be forced to give in and trade the 25-year-old if he remains steadfast in his trade demands. A top-five fantasy quarterback, Watson could become slightly more attractive if he's traded and winds up in a more favorable situation. It is the biggest NFL story to watch with free agency approaching next week.

Jalen Ramsey Doubts Deshaun Watson Will Return To Houston
Los Angeles Rams cornerback Jalen Ramsey, who shares the same agent as Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson, said on the Huddle and Flow podcast that, "I highly doubt (Deshaun Watson) will suit up in a Texans uniform again. He's extremely serious." The Texans and Watson are in a standoff, with Houston saying they will not trade the 25-year-old signal-caller. But Watson remains steadfast in his trade demands and wants out of Houston. Eventually, something has to give. If this continues to play out, the Texans may have no choice but to find the best available offer for the star quarterback. Watson was still a top-five fantasy QB without All-Pro wideout DeAndre Hopkins in 2020, so he should be drafted as an elite quarterback again in 2021. A trade out of Houston could make him even more attractive.

Texans Still Unwilling To Talk Deshaun Watson Trade
The Houston Texans remain unwilling to talk about quarterback Deshaun Watson with other teams, with some clubs resorting to leaving voicemails with their trade offers, according to sources. Watson spoke with head coach David Culley recently, but the two have yet to meet in person. The 25-year-old franchise signal-caller hasn't backed off his demands to be dealt, but the Texans aren't budging. This situation will continue to be the biggest offseason storyline as we head into the new league year next month. Even without All-Pro wideout DeAndre Hopkins as his top receiver in 2020, Watson finished as the No. 4 fantasy QB behind Josh Allen, Kyler Murray and Aaron Rodgers. He could land in a better situation if he's ultimately traded, but even if he stays in Houston, Watson will be a top-tier, dual-threat fantasy quarterback.

The Houston Texans are reportedly standing firm in their goal to not trade quarterback Deshaun Watson, with the hopes that he'll play for the team in 2021. But considering Watson still hasn't spoken with head coach David Culley, things are still not looking great. Adding to the issues is that the quarterback trade market appears to be heating up, and if the Texans want to get the most value they can for Watson, they'd ideally need to get on the phone and get a trade done in the next few weeks. If they miss out on that window and Watson still won't report to the team once we get close to the season, this issue will be even bigger.

Jan 31 · ESPN 49ers Texans Patriots Jimmy Garoppolo Deshaun WatsonTexans Have Zero Interest In Trading Deshaun Watson
Houston Texans general manager Nick Caserio said that the team has "zero" interest in trading quarterback Deshaun Watson, despite the fact that the quarterback formally requested a trade on Thursday. "Organizationally, I just want to reiterate our commitment to Deshaun Watson," Caserio said on Friday. Caserio and new head coach David Culley are saying that Watson remains part of the future of the organization, but only time will tell if that's the case. The futures of Caserio and Culley will likely be tied to whether Watson remains with the organization, but the signal-caller is unhappy and has leverage with a full no-trade clause. Watson is an explosive and athletic dual-threat quarterback and should remain a top-five fantasy quarterback no matter where he is playing in 2021, but his future will be the top offseason storyline to follow.

Panthers To Be Aggressive In Pursuit Of Deshaun Watson
The Carolina Panthers will be aggressive in their pursuit of Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson, who officially requested a trade on Thursday. "Don't sleep on the Carolina Panthers," NFL Network's Ian Rapoport said. "They are a team that I'm told is going to be aggressive in potentially acquiring Deshaun Watson." Adding the 25-year-old signal-caller to a roster that already includes All-Pro running back Christian McCaffrey would be very exciting. Carolina has sent strong signals already this offseason that they want to upgrade on Teddy Bridgewater after he was inconsistent in 2020. And with the eighth overall pick in the draft, the Panthers could offer a decent package to the Texans. The Jets, Dolphins, Bears and Colts, among others, could come calling for Watson, who is a top-five QB in the league.

Deshaun Watson Officially Requests Trade
Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson officially requested a trade from the team, according to league sources. Watson actually requested a trade weeks ago. The Texans hired a new head coach in David Culley on Thursday, but it will not change Watson's mind. The star signal-caller signed a four-year, $156 million extension with the team in September. Houston has insisted that they have no interest in trading him, but Watson owns the leverage and can force the team's hand by withholding his services. The 25-year-old also has a no-trade clause, so he can essentially pick where he wants to go. Watson is a top-five QB, so any trade to land him would require quite a massive package. This will be the top storyline of the NFL offseason, with Watson potentially becoming even more attractive as a top-five fantasy QB, depending on where he ends up.

Texans To Hire David Culley As Head Coach
The Houston Texans are working toward a deal for Baltimore Ravens assistant head coach David Culley to become their next head coach. The Texans offered Culley the job on Wednesday night, and he will accept it. The Ravens will receive two third-round compensatory draft picks for the hiring of a minority coach. Although Culley is an offensive-minded coach, Houston offensive coordinator Tim Kelly will remain in his position. The Texans are also targeting Josh McCown and Lovie Smith for spots on the coaching staff. The 65-year-old Culley will become the third active black head coach and the fifth minority head coach. He's a veteran of 27 seasons coaching in the NFL and was Baltimore's assistant head coach/passing coordinator/wide receivers coach the last two years. Culley will look to navigate a Texans organization that is having a tumultuous offseason, as their franchise quarterback, Deshaun Watson, has requested a trade.

New Head Coach Won't Alter Deshaun Watson's Thinking
The Houston Texans head-coaching hire is not expected to change quarterback Deshaun Watson's thinking and he is still expected to want out of Houston, according to sources. The rift started last year when Houston dealt All-Pro wideout DeAndre Hopkins to the Cardinals for running back David Johnson, and the gap widened early this offseason when the Texans didn't consult Watson before hiring general manager Nick Caserio, as they said they would. The 25-year-old signal-caller has a full no-trade clause in his contract and is reportedly interested in playing for the Dolphins, but it's unclear if Houston as any interest in actually dealing him. This storyline surrounding Watson will be one to watch this offseason, as the top-five fantasy QB could even increase in value heading into 2021 if he lands in a better situation.
