  • David Njoku Quiet In Week 13

    Headshot for David Njoku

Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku caught two of his six targets for 17 yards in a 36-19 loss to the Los Angeles Rams in Week 13. Njoku came back to Earth after he caught 13 passes in his previous two contests. The veteran played his normal amount of snaps in the loss but it appeared that he and Joe Flacco weren't able to get on the same page in the quarterback's first game with Cleveland. Look for Njoku to bounce back in a Week 14 matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

  • David Njoku A TE1 In Week 13 Vs. Rams

    Headshot for David Njoku

Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku has been on a roll of late as he's caught 19 of 33 targets over his past three games. He will look to keep it going in a Week 13 road matchup against the Los Angeles Rams. The Rams have a solid defense but their weak spot has been against tight ends as they are allowing the fourth-most fantasy points per game to the position this year. The only concern here is that it remains to be seen just how frequently new Cleveland quarterback Joe Flacco targets Njoku in their first game playing together. That being said, the tight-end landscape in fantasy is such that Njoku is a shoo-in TE1 this weekend.

  • David Njoku Hauls In Six Passes In Week 12

    Headshot for David Njoku

Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku caught six of his nine targets for 59 yards in a 29-12 loss to the Denver Broncos in Week 12. Njoku led the team in catches and receiving yards in the loss, continuing a recent uptick in usage for the explosive tight end. The veteran has now caught 19 of his 33 targets over the past three games as rookie Dorian Thompson-Robinson has leaned heavily on his tight end. That being said, Thompson-Robinson's status for Week 13 against the Los Angeles Rams could be in jeopardy as he suffered a concussion in the second half of Week 12. Either way, Njoku has earned every-week TE1 treatment in fantasy moving forward no matter who is under center for the Browns.

  • David Njoku A TE1 In Week 12

    Headshot for David Njoku

Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku set a season-high with 15 targets in a Week 11 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. Njoku has quickly emerged as rookie quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson's favorite target as he's had 22 passes thrown his way in DTR's two starts this season. The explosive tight end will look to keep it going in Week 12's road game against a Denver Broncos defense that is allowing the most fantasy points per game to the position in 2023. Add in the fact that Denver has been tough on enemy wide receivers and it looks like plenty of targets will get funneled toward Njoku on Sunday. Njoku missed practice on Wednesday with a "not injury related-knee, rest" tag but he was upgraded to limited on Thursday and a full session on Friday, so he is looking likely to suit up against Denver. Fantasy managers can lock Njoku in as a top-10 fantasy option in Week 12.

  • David Njoku Limited In Practice Thursday

    Headshot for David Njoku

Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku (rest, knee) upgraded to a limited participant in practice on Thursday. He has emerged as a solid weapon in the Cleveland offense, commanding a whopping 15 targets last Sunday. Over the last five weeks, he's averaging 5.2 catches, 54.2 yards, and 0.4 touchdowns per game. It's clear that he has become one of Dorian Thompson-Robinson's favorite targets, vaulting him into the low-end TE1 tier versus Denver this week.

  • David Njoku Targeted 15 Times In Week 11 Win

    Headshot for David Njoku

Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku caught seven of his 15 targets for 56 yards in a 13-10 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 11. Njoku wound up leading the Browns in targets and catches while finishing second in receiving yards behind only Elijah Moore. The veteran tight end was easily the favorite target of rookie quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson, who leaned heavily on Njoku as a safety blanket in the middle of the field. In Thompson-Robinson's two starts this season, Njoku has caught 15 of 22 targets for 102 yards. Njoku will emerge as a must-start option at tight end in fantasy for as long as Thompson-Robinson is the team's starter. Cleveland will head on the road to take on the Denver Broncos in Week 12.

  • David Njoku A TE2 In Week 11

    Headshot for David Njoku

Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku will take on the Pittsburgh Steelers at home in Week 11. Njoku has been coming on strong of late as he's gotten to at least 54 receiving yards in three of his past four games with two touchdowns over that span. The Steelers have been tough on opposing tight ends this season as they are allowing the fifth-fewest fantasy points per game to the position in 2023. The Browns announced that Deshaun Watson (shoulder) will miss the remainder of the season and they will turn to rookie Dorian Thompson-Robinson under center for Week 11. Thompson-Robinson leaned on Njoku back in his only other start of the season, with Njoku catching six passes for 46 yards. Njoku got in a limited practice on Wednesday with a "not injury related-rest, knee) tag but was upgraded to full sessions on Thursday and Friday. He is listed without an injury designation on the team's final injury report of the week and will be good to go against Pittsburgh on Sunday. Fantasy gamers can treat him as a high-end TE2 in Week 11.

  • David Njoku A Low-End TE1 In Week 10 Vs. Baltimore

    Headshot for David Njoku

Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku is listed without an injury designation heading into a Week 10 matchup against the Baltimore Ravens. Njoku missed Wednesday's practice with a knee injury but practiced on a limited basis on Thursday and fully on Friday. The veteran tight end got off to a slow start this season but has come on strong of late, having caught a touchdown pass in each of his past two games. Njoku will have his work cut out for him this week, however, as the Ravens are allowing the second-fewest fantasy points per game to tight ends in 2023. Njoku was productive back when these two teams met in Week 4, catching six of his seven targets for 46 yards. Treat Njoku as a low-end TE1 heading into Week 10.

    Headshot for David Njoku

Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku (knee) upgraded to a full participant in practice on Friday. He has been removed from the final injury report and will play versus the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday afternoon. After a relatively quiet start to the season, Njoku has come on strong over the last three weeks, catching 13 passes for 157 yards and two touchdowns during that span. While his fantasy value has become somewhat dependent on finding the end zone, he's still a high-end TE2 option given his prominent role in the Cleveland offense.

  • David Njoku Returns To Thursday's Practice

    Headshot for David Njoku

Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku (knee) was limited in Thursday's practice, per The Athletic's Zac Jackson. It's an upgrade for Njoku after not being seen at Wednesday's practice, which bodes well for his ability to be active in Week 10's divisional clash with the Baltimore Ravens. The 27-year-old former first-rounder has rebounded a bit from a lackluster start to the campaign of late, recording 4.3 receptions for 52.3 yards per game along with two visits to the end zone across his past three contests. Njoku should be good to go for Sunday's game if all goes well in Friday's session, but we'll see if he takes an injury designation into Sunday's tilt. Deshaun Watson's presence under center gives a boost to Cleveland's surrounding skill positions, and Njoku may need every bit of that in a rigid matchup. Baltimore is shutting down enemy tight ends for the second-fewest average half-PPR fantasy points this year.

  • David Njoku Not Practicing Wednesday

    Headshot for David Njoku

Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku (knee) is not practicing with the team on Wednesday. It was an ankle injury that kept Njoku out of practice early last week, but he ultimately played in the Week 9 win over the Arizona Cardinals and caught four of six targets for 26 yards and had his second straight game with a touchdown. Nevertheless, the 27-year-old's status is worth watching this week with a new injury listed, but it's more likely that the Browns are just resting him ahead of a Week 10 date with the division-rival Baltimore Ravens. Njoku should be able to play this Sunday as long as he returns to practice later this week. If for some reason he's out or limited against Baltimore, Harrison Bryant would see a boost in playing time for the Browns. Njoku has been a touchdown-dependent, low-end TE1 in fantasy.

Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku caught four of his six targets for 26 yards and a touchdown in a 27-0 win over the Arizona Cardinals in Week 9. Njoku found the end zone on a five-yard touchdown pass from Deshaun Watson in the third quarter. The veteran tight end has come on strong in recent weeks as he has caught a touchdown in consecutive games while catching at least four passes in each of his past three games. Now back in the TE1 conversation in fantasy, Njoku will look to stay hot in Week 10 against the Baltimore Ravens.

    Headshot for David Njoku

Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku (ankle) practiced fully on Friday and is listed without an injury status for his team's Week 9 matchup against the Arizona Cardinals. Njoku missed Wednesday's practice before getting in a limited session on Thursday as Cleveland prepares to take on the Cardinals at home. Njoku got off to a slow start this season but he's starting to show some life of late as he's caught nine passes for 131 yards and a touchdown over his past two games. Fantasy managers can trust Njoku as a low-end TE1 in Week 9.

  • David Njoku Gets In Full Practice Session

    Headshot for David Njoku

Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku (ankle) was a full participant during Friday's practice session. This is great to see after Njoku sat out practice to begin the week. Now, it appears Njoku will play in Week 9, barring any setbacks. He has posted back-to-back 50-plus receiving yard performances. However, those were with P.J. Walker under center, so we'll see if his workload changes with Deshaun Watson starting again. Fantasy managers should have Njoku on the TE2 radar for this game.

  • David Njoku Practices On Thursday

    Headshot for David Njoku

Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku (ankle) was able to participate during Thursday's practice. This is good news after Njoku missed Wednesday's session due to an ankle issue. He was a limited participant on Thursday, but the fact he practiced at all is a good sign. It seems like the ankle issue is minor, so he should be able to suit up for the Week 9 matchup versus the Arizona Cardinals. He'll be on the TE2 radar, assuming he's able to suit up for this game.

  • David Njoku Misses Practice With Ankle Injury

    Headshot for David Njoku

Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku (ankle) missed Wednesday's practice due to an ankle injury he apparently picked up in the Week 8 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. Njoku played 77 percent of the offensive snaps on Sunday and broke out with his best game of the year, catching four passes for 77 yards and a touchdown on his eight targets. The 27-year-old was seen working on the side at practice, so it's a good bet he's just being rest ahead of the team's Week 9 meeting with the Arizona Cardinals. We'll continue to monitor the tight end's status ahead of this Sunday's game. Njoku was a popular waiver-wire pickup this week in league's where he was still available. If he's active in Week 9, he'll be on the TE1 streaming radar, regardless of whether quarterback Deshaun Watson (shoulder) returns.

Njoku wound up posting his best game of the season in the loss. The touchdown was his first of the year and came on an 18-yard pass from P.J. Walker in the first quarter. Njoku got off to a slow start this season but he's trending up of late, having 18 passes for 201 yards over his past four games. He will be on the TE1/TE2 borderline heading into a Week 9 showdown against the Arizona Cardinals.

Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku (knee) was removed from the team's final injury report and he will play on Sunday in Week 8 against the Seattle Seahawks. Njoku, who has been battling injuries practically all season, missed Wednesday's practice before getting in a pair of limited sessions on Thursday and Friday, respectively. • David Njoku Back At Practice Thursday

    Headshot for David Njoku

Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku (knee) was a limited practice participant on Thursday, per Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram. Njoku is dealing with a knee injury that cost him Wednesday's session, but a return to limited participation Thursday puts him tentatively on track to play Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks. The former first-round pick has been a big fantasy disappointment in 2023, amassing 24 receptions on 31 targets for 216 scoreless yards. Njoku looks like a bit of a Week 8 fade without starting quarterback Deshaun Watson (shoulder) against a Seahawks defense giving up the fifth-least half-PPR fantasy points to his position and with no teams on bye. Though, the 27-year-old tallied season highs in targets (nine) and yards (54) last Sunday. Harrison Bryant would take over as Cleveland's featured tight end if Njoku cannot go.

  • David Njoku Misses Practice On Wednesday

    Headshot for David Njoku

Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku (knee) did not participate in the team's practice on Wednesday. Njoku didn't seem bothered by his knee issue in the Browns' 39-38 win over the Indianapolis Colts after logging 72-of-75 snaps. The high snap count could be a large reason why Cleveland decided to hold the tight end out of practice to begin the week. Thursday's practice status will be a big sign for Njoku and his availability for Week 8. His season-high nine targets in Week 7 is a plus moving forward, and he will be a low-end TE1 against the Seattle Seahawks.

Njoku has been quiet this season as he has zero touchdowns and his best yardage game is just 48 yards back in Week 3. He still has some upside but Njoku is best treated as a fantasy TE2 in Week 7.

The 27-year-old had been listed as questionable after suffering extreme burns during an incident away from the facility back in September. Njoku played in his first game following the incident in Week 4 and had the opportunity to recover during the Browns' Week 5 bye, so his availability in Week 6 is not a major surprise. • David Njoku A TE2 In Week 6

    Headshot for David Njoku

Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku (arm, face) heads into a Week 6 matchup against the San Francisco 49ers with a questionable tag. Njoku didn't practice on Wednesday or Thursday but was upgraded to a limited session on Friday as the team gears up for a home matchup against San Francisco. Njoku suffered burns on his arm and face the day before a Week 4 loss to the Baltimore Ravens but ultimately wound up playing. Now almost two weeks after the injury, Njoku is likely to suit up in Week 6 against a San Francisco defense that is allowing just the 26th-most fantasy points per game to opposing tight ends. Just as concerning is the fact that the Browns will have P.J. Walker, not Deshaun Watson, under center. Njoku settles in as a low-end TE2 for Week 6. If Njoku ends up not playing, look for both Harrison Bryant and Jordan Akins to help cover his absence. Neither player would be a particularly enticing fantasy option in that scenario.

  • David Njoku Questionable For Week 6

    Headshot for David Njoku

Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku (face, hand) is listed as questionable to play in Week 6 against the San Francisco 49ers. Njoku returned to the practice field on Friday after missing practice the previous two days. The 27-year-old suffered serious burns to his face and hand before the Week 4 game but was still able to play. The Browns were on bye last week. Head coach Kevin Stefanski said he feels good about Njoku playing again this weekend, but fantasy managers will want to check his official status on Sunday morning. Quarterback Deshaun Watson (shoulder) will miss his second straight game with a rotator-cuff injury, so Njoku is an easy fade as a low-end TE1 in fantasy lineups against a stingy Niners defense. If Njoku is inactive, Harrison Bryant will have a much bigger role.

  • David Njoku Still Missing From Practice

    Headshot for David Njoku

Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku (face, hand) missed another day of practice on Thursday. Njoku suffered bad burns on his face and hand during an accident at home before the Week 4 loss to the Baltimore Ravens, but he managed to play through the injuries and caught six passes for 46 yards. The Browns had their bye last week. However, the 27-year-old is still dealing with the burns and should be considered questionable to play in Week 6 against the San Francisco 49ers. He will probably need to return to practice on Friday to give himself a shot to play Sunday. Even if Njoku plays, though, he'll be a tight end to fade with quarterback Deshaun Watson (shoulder) missing his second straight game against the best defense in the NFL in the 49ers. If Njoku is inactive, Harrison Bryant would take over No. 1 TE duties.

  • David Njoku Missing From Practice Wednesday

    Headshot for David Njoku

Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku (shoulder) is not practicing on Wednesday. Njoku suffered burns on his face and arm before the Week 4 game against the Baltimore Ravens, but he played in the contest and caught six passes for 46 yards on seven targets. He may be dealing with a new injury to his right shoulder coming out of last week's bye, so his status for the Week 6 game against the San Francisco 49ers should be considered up in the air as of now. Through four games in 2023, Njoku has 16 receptions (18 targets) for 138 yards and no touchdowns. The 27-year-old tight end won't be a particularly attractive TE1 in fantasy if he plays in a tough matchup against the Niners, especially if quarterback Deshaun Watson (shoulder) misses a second straight game.

The 27-year-old was active for that game and caught six of his seven targets for 46 yards, so he should be just fine to play in Week 6 against the San Francisco 49ers. Njoku hasn't really stood out in four games for Cleveland this year, but the good news is he should be getting quarterback Deshaun Watson (shoulder) back this week after the team's bye. • David Njoku A Low-End TE1 In Season Opener

    Headshot for David Njoku

Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku is coming off of a breakout season that saw him catch 58 passes for 628 yards and four touchdowns in just 14 games. Njoku will look to continue last season's success in Week 1 against the Cincinnati Bengals at home. The Bengals were average against opposing tight ends in 2022, allowing the 17th-most fantasy points per game to the position. Njoku is likely to operate as a top-three option in the Cleveland passing attack, making him a solid choice as a top-10 tight end in Week 1.
