  • David Njoku Wants To Stay In Cleveland

Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku wants to sign a contract extension that will keep him with the team for the long term. "I love it here. I love it here to the core," Njoku said. "I honestly want to be here for the rest of my career, so my agent and the Browns are still in talks, we're still negotiating, figuring out what we can do, and we'll go from there." The 25-year-old will be an unrestricted free agent this offseason after catching 36 passes on 53 targets for 475 yards and a team-high four touchdowns in 16 games. Pro Football Focus ranked him 15th among 75 qualifying tight ends. Njoku would probably be a TE1 on a weekly basis if he weren't in Cleveland, where he shares snaps with both Austin Hooper and Harrison Bryant.

  • David Njoku Active For Season Finale

Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku (shoulder) is officially active for the Week 18 regular season finale against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday after he was listed as questionable to play. Njoku missed two practices this week, but he returned to the practice field on Friday and will finish out the regular season after catching a touchdown last Monday night on four receptions and 28 yards. With the Browns running a committee approach at the tight end position among Njoku, Austin Hooper and Harrison Bryant, none of the three have been particularly attractive in fantasy as touchdown-dependent TE2s. Njoku is averaging 2.3 receptions and 30.9 receiving yards while scoring four touchdowns in 15 games this year.

  • Questionable Tag For David Njoku In Week 18

Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku (shoulder) is listed as questionable to play in the Week 18 regular season finale on Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals. Njoku caught his fourth touchdown of the year on Monday night, but it came on four receptions for only 28 yards, and he's averaging a mere 2.3 receptions and 30.9 receiving yards in 15 games played this year. If he doesn't get the green light to play, Austin Hooper and Harrison Bryant will battle for targets from backup quarterback Case Keenum in a meaningless game. The Browns tight end position hasn't been very profitable for fantasy managers this year, and that shouldn't change to close out the season.

  • David Njoku Misses Another Practice

Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku (shoulder) missed his second straight practice of the week on Thursday. Njoku should be considered very questionable to play in the Week 18 regular season finale on Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals. He'll likely need to practice in some capacity on Friday in order to play. The 25-year-old caught all four targets for 28 yards and a touchdown on Monday night against the Pittsburgh Steelers, but he shouldn't be on the fantasy radar to close out the season. If Njoku is inactive this weekend, Austin Hooper and Harrison Bryant would split the workload, with Hooper being the more attractive touchdown-dependent TE2 with backup quarterback Case Keenum in line to start.

  • David Njoku Finds The End Zone In Week 17

Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku caught all four of his targets for 28 yards and a touchdown in a 26-14 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 17. Njoku caught Cleveland's first touchdown of the evening, a three-yard grab in the third quarter. The veteran tight end has been up-and-down this season but he still possesses decent upside, albeit in a broken Cleveland offense. He will be a low-end TE2 in Week 18 against the Cincinnati Bengals.

  • David Njoku - Week 17 Outlook for Fantasy Football

Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku will face off against the Pittsburgh Steelers on the road in Week 17's Monday Night game. Njoku was quiet in Week 16's loss to the Green Bay Packers, failing to catch either of his two targets. The Steelers have been a difficult matchup for opposing tight ends, allowing the seventh-fewest fantasy points per game to the position in 2021. Njoku's boom/bust game simply is not reliable enough to trust him during the fantasy championship round this week.

  • David Njoku - Week 16 Outlook for Fantasy Football

Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku (knee) got in two limited practices this week and is listed without an injury designation for his team's Christmas Day showdown against the Green Bay Packers in Week 16. Njoku turned in a pedestrian outing in a Week 15 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders but he did come close to scoring a touchdown if it weren't for his foot barely landing out of bounds in the end zone. The Packers are allowing the 13th-most fantasy points per game to tight ends, but Njoku will have to contend with the return of Austin Hooper, who was not active last week due to a stint on the reserve/COVID-19 list. Treat Njoku as a boom/bust TE2 for Week 16.

  • David Njoku Listed As Limited Wednesday

Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku (knee) was added to the Week 16 injury report on Wednesday. The Browns didn't practice on Wednesday, but Njoku was estimated as a limited participant. The 25-year-old should be fine to play on Christmas Day this Saturday against the Green Bay Packers, but Austin Hooper's return from the COVID-19 list pretty much takes away what little TE2 appeal Njoku might've had entering the week. Njoku has exactly three catches in each of his last two games and won't be attractive from a fantasy perspective with Hooper and Harrison Bryant both splitting snaps with him in Cleveland's run-first offense.

  • David Njoku Catches Three Passes In Week 15

Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku caught three of five targets for 29 yards in a 16-14 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 15. Njoku appeared to have a touchdown in the third quarter when he high-pointed a ball in the back of the end zone but he was not able to get both feet down inbounds. It goes down as a disappointing outing for Njoku, who was expected to be a focal point in the passing offense with several starters out due to COVID-19, including Jarvis Landry and Austin Hooper. Njoku will take on the Green Bay Packers on Christmas Day in Week 16.

  • David Njoku - Week 15 Outlook for Fantasy Football

Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku will return to the field in Week 15 after missing last week's contest while on the reserve/COVID-19 list. Njoku could see an increased role in Week 15 against the Las Vegas Raiders as Cleveland could be down several key pieces in the passing game, including Jarvis Landry and Austin Hooper, who both landed on the reserve/COVID-19 list this week. The Raiders have struggled to contain opposing tight ends this season, allowing the second-most fantasy points per game to the position. Thanks to the plus matchup and the lack of target competition this week, fantasy gamers can treat Njoku as a high-end TE2 in Week 15.

  • David Njoku Activated From COVID-19 List

Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku has officially been activated from the Reserve/COVID-19 list and is back at practice on Thursday. It's good timing for the Browns, as Austin Hooper and Stephen Carlson are currently on the COVID list, as well as top receiver Jarvis Landry. Njoku could share tight end duties on Saturday against the Las Vegas Raiders with Harrison Bryant if he's able to return from his ankle injury and Hooper and Carlson remain sidelined. The Browns are likely to be without quarterback Baker Mayfield, too, but Njoku could be a sneaky TE streamer in Week 15 if he's the team's starting tight end. Njoku hasn't played since Week 12, but he does have 407 receiving yards on the season and has found the end zone three times, including once in his last game.

  • David Njoku Likely Back For Saturday's Game

Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku appears to be returned from the COVID-19 list. Njoku tested positive for COVID-19 on Dec. 7 but took to his Instagram page on Wednesday to say, "It's Good to be Back." Njoku would be eligible to come off of the COVID list with two subsequent negative tests, so his return is entirely possible. If Njoku does play on Saturday, he could be in for a large target share with all of the other tight ends, as well as leading receiver Jarvis Landry, all on the COVID list. The Browns would still likely have a run-heavy game plan with backup quarterback Case Keenum in, but Keenum isn't a massive downgrade from Baker Mayfield, so Njoku could be looked at as a TE2 and possible DFS punt play.

  • David Njoku Trending In Wrong Direction

Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku (COVID-19) is "not trending in the right direction" in regards to his status for Week 14 against Baltimore. The 25-year-old is asymptomatic but would need to be activated by Saturday at 4 p.m. in order to play this Sunday. Of course, he can't be activated unless he remains asymptomatic and registers two negative test results 24 hours apart from each other. He'd need his first negative test to come back sometime today if he has any shot at playing. With Njoku's status looking pessimistic and Harrison Bryant (ankle) already ruled out, starting tight end Austin Hooper could be in for a solid showing against a Ravens team that has struggled to defend tight ends. Hooper ranks as a high-end TE2 this week.

  • David Njoku Placed On COVID-19 List

Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku will be placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list on Tuesday, according to a source. It's unclear if Njoku tested positive for the virus or if he's vaccinated, but his status for the Week 14 game against the Baltimore Ravens is now up in the air. If Njoku tested positive for COVID-19 and is vaccinated, he'll need to be asymptomatic and return two negative tests 24 hours apart in order to be cleared to play on Sunday. Njoku was seeing a slightly bigger workload before the team's Week 13 bye and scored a touchdown in Week 12, but he still had only six receptions for 66 yards on 13 targets in the previous three games while sharing snaps with Austin Hooper and Harrison Bryant. If Njoku isn't cleared in time for this weekend's game, Hooper would be a more attractive TE2, touchdown-dependent streamer.

  • David Njoku Catches Touchdown In Week 12

Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku caught three of five targets for 35 yards and a touchdown in a 16-10 loss to the Baltimore Ravens in Week 12. Njoku's performance was one of the few bright spots in an ugly, sloppy game between these two AFC North rivals as his touchdown catch was Cleveland's only TD of the game. The ball came close to hitting the ground in the end zone but the call on the field was upheld after an official review. Njoku has shown flashes this season but the Browns have not been keen on featuring him in the offense thus far. He will be on bye in Week 13 before he gets a rematch with the Ravens in Week 14.

  • David Njoku - Week 11 Outlook for Fantasy Football

Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku will take on the Detroit Lions at home in Week 11. Njoku struggled with drops in Week 10's loss to the New England Patriots, including a drop on a would-be touchdown in the end zone during the first quarter. The veteran tight end will look to bounce back against a Detroit team that is allowing the 10th-fewest fantasy points per game to the tight end position. Njoku brings some upside to the table but he has been an inconsistent fantasy performer in 2021. Gamers can treat him as a low-end TE2 for Week 11.

  • David Njoku - Week 10 Outlook for Fantasy Football

Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku will head on the road to take on the New England Patriots in Week 10. Njoku has been a boom/bust fantasy tight end this season, cresting 8.8 PPR points in three games while failing to top 3.8 points five times. He draws a difficult matchup against a New England defense that is allowing the fewest fantasy points per game to tight ends on the season. Given the tough matchup, gamers will probably want to look elsewhere for a starting tight end in fantasy or consider streaming the position with a tight end with a better matchup. Treat Njoku as a low-end TE2 in Week 10.

  • David Njoku Scores TD In Week 9

Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku caught an 18-yard touchdown on three targets in a 41-16 win over the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 9. Njoku was held in check for much of the game but he came down with Baker Mayfield's second touchdown pass with 4:27 left in the fourth quarter. The Browns have been reluctant to utilize Njoku in a high-volume role but he has been a useful, and explosive, fantasy performer when his number has been called. The Browns will take on the New England Patriots on the road in Week 10.

  • David Njoku - Week 9 Outlook for Fantasy Football

Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku has looked like one of the most dangerous pass-catchers on the roster this season, averaging an explosive 16.15 yards per reception. Njoku will head on the road to take on the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 9 as a 2.5-point underdog in a game with a 46.5-point over/under. Cincinnati has been tough on opposing tight ends this year, allowing the ninth-fewest fantasy points per game to the position. That being said, the team could lean on Njoku more going forward thanks to the Odell Beckham Jr. situation brewing in Cleveland. It appears that Njoku could be a big-time force in fantasy if Cleveland used him more, but the coaching staff has been hesitant to do so up to this point. For now, fantasy gamers can treat Njoku as a boom/bust TE2 in Week 9 against Cincinnati.

  • David Njoku - Week 8 Outlook for Fantasy Football

Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku has been up-and-down this season. He opened the year with 76 receiving yards in Week 1 and exploded for 149 yards and a touchdown in Week 5. Other than that, he hasn't done much in the run-first Cleveland offense. Njoku will face off against the Pittsburgh Steelers at home in Week 8 in an important divisional clash. The Steelers are allowing the 12th-fewest fantasy points per game to tight ends this year as they have been doing a decent job limiting the position. Njoku is extremely boom/bust but he's worth a look as a mid-range TE2 in fantasy for Week 8.

  • David Njoku Catches Two Passes In Week 7

Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku caught both of his targets for 18 yards in a 17-14 win over the Denver Broncos in Week 7's Thursday Night Football game. Njoku showed his athleticism on a short screen pass on a third-and-nine in which he exploded up the field for a first down on a 12-yard gain, but he was mostly quiet after that. The veteran tight end hasn't done much since going off for 149 yards and a touchdown in Week 5, having corralled just three balls in the two games since. He will look for another big outing in Week 8's important divisional clash against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
