1 Christian McCaffrey, CAR 13 25.4 1.01 30.0

Mike's Thoughts: It is rare for me to put a single player into the top tier by himself. McCaffrey's historical per game output is so far ahead of his peers, he would normally qualify, but coming off a season-ending injury, playing with a new QB, and the high turnover position itself - RB - I'll rank him 1 but in a group of similar high reward backs.

2 Dalvin Cook, MIN 7 26.3 1.03 24.1

Mike's Thoughts: He's missed games every season, which is to be expected for any RB with this many projected carries, really. However, there is a higher perceived injury risk with Cook going back to his 4-game rookie season. Double-digit TD and high catch numbers, thanks to limited receiving options on the Vikings, support Cook at 2. There are additional red flags such as Gary Kubiak no longer the OC, and Rick Dennison possibly out as the OL coach, which may warrant a fade on Cook.

  • Christian McCaffrey Struggles Against Dolphins

Carolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey finished with 10 carries for 35 yards in Sunday's loss to Miami. The RB rolled his ankle in the first half of the contest which led to him playing less afterward. McCaffrey has been dealing with injuries all throughout the season and this has affected his availability for games and production in a couple of contests he has played. Managers should monitor the 25-year-old's status going forward but Carolina luckily doesn't have another game until Week 14, meaning the RB has time to rest and recover.

  • Christian McCaffrey In A Walking Boot

Carolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey (ankle) rolled his ankle and later appeared in a walking boot. For the past two years, McCaffrey has dealt with several lower-body injuries and this boot is obviously not a good sign. It's still unforeseen as to how long McCaffrey's absence will be (if any at all), but fantasy owners should be concerned. His backup Chuba Hubbard must be picked up in all leagues once waivers run and would be a decent start if McCaffrey misses time. In Dynasty leagues, at this point, McCaffrey appears deserving of the "injury-prone" tag and his value has drastically decreased. If he returns and has a nice game, managers should consider selling high.

  • Christian McCaffrey - Week 12 Outlook for Fantasy Football

Carolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey is a solid RB1 against Miami. The RB has accumulated at least 52 rushing yards and 54 receiving yards in the last three games and always has a high chance to get over 100 yards of scrimmage in any contest given his large role. Miami is somewhat stingy to fantasy backs, but McCaffrey's rich volume still makes him an elite play.

  • Christian McCaffrey Posts Receiving Touchdown In Week 11

Carolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey finished with 10 rushes for 59 yards and seven receptions for 60 yards and a score on eight targets in Sunday's loss to Washington. McCaffrey once again stuffed the stat sheet and continues to be a dominant force on this offense. The RB has at least 52 rushing yards and 54 receiving yards in the last three games and he remains in the RB1 tier going forward.

  • Christian McCaffrey - Week 11 Outlook for Fantasy Football

Carolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey is an RB1 option against Washington in Week 11. McCaffrey dealt with a minor setback to his hamstring last week during the game against Arizona, but luckily it seems it hasn't bothered him enough to affect his status for Week 11. The RB looked sharp last week when he was in the game, posting 13 carries for 95 yards and 10 receptions for 66 yards on 10 targets. As the focal point of this offense, McCaffrey will see the volume and he's one of the best plays of the week against a Washington squad that's average against fantasy RBs.

  • Christian McCaffrey Absent From The Injury Report

Carolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey was not on the team's Week 11 injury report and was able to get in a full practice on Wednesday. Yeah, we had to do a double take, too. It looked like his troublesome hamstring was giving him issues in the Week 10 win over the Arizona Cardinals, but the fact that McCaffrey isn't on the injury report at all is excellent news heading into a Week 11 date with the Washington Football Team. In two games since returning from an extended absence, CMC has 27 carries for 147 yards and 14 catches on 15 targets for 120 yards. Quarterback Cam Newton could take away valuable goal-line touches if he takes over the starting QB job this weekend, but McCaffrey will still be a must-start, high-end RB1.

  • Christian McCaffrey Rushes For 95 Yards Against Arizona

Carolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey finished with 13 carries for 95 yards and 10 receptions for 66 yards on 10 targets in Sunday's win over Arizona. McCaffrey produced well on Sunday but it's worth noting his hamstring acted up in the game and he wasn't much of a factor in the second half. The RB missed time this season already due to a hamstring injury, so the only hope is he didn't reaggravate the injury. It's worth monitoring the RB's status this week as Chuba Hubbard could see more playing time once again if McCaffrey can't play in a game.

  • Christian McCaffrey - Week 10 Outlook for Fantasy Football

Carolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey is a solid start in Week 10 given the team will be starting an inexperienced QB in P.J. Walker. The expectation is the back will shoulder most of the offensive workload. The 25-year-old returned last week after missing time due to a hamstring injury sustained in Week 3. He posted 52 rushing yards and 54 receiving yards. Though Arizona is stingy against fantasy backs, McCaffrey's rich workload keeps him in the RB1 tier.

  • Christian McCaffrey Not Carrying An Injury Designation

Carolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey, who made his return from a hamstring injury in Week 9, wasn't on the injury report all week and won't carry an injury designation into the Week 10 contest against the Arizona Cardinals. It was uncertain how much of a role CMC would have in his first game action since Week 3, but he ended up playing just under half of the offensive snaps, with rookie Chuba Hubbard on the field 16.9% of the time. McCaffrey went over 100 yards from scrimmage on 14 carries and four receptions on five targets. It was an encouraging first game back, and he could be relied on even more this Sunday with P.J. Walker starting at quarterback for the injured Sam Darnold (shoulder). We shouldn't have to say this, but McCaffrey is a must-start RB1.

  • Matt Paradis Suffers ACL Tear, Done For The Year

Carolina Panthers center Matt Paradis (knee) will miss the rest of the season. During the first quarter of Sunday's loss to the New England Patriots, the veteran injured his knee and needed to be carted off the field. The official diagnosis is a torn ACL, which is unfortunate considering the team's struggles since winning its first three games to begin the 2021-22 campaign. Paradis has built a reputation for being one of the best at the position, so without him, the team's offensive line could struggle to keep things in order for Christian McCaffrey and Sam Darnold moving ahead.

  • Christian McCaffrey Goes For 106 Scrimmage Yards In Return

Carolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey carried the ball 14 times for 52 rushing yards, adding 54 receiving yards on four catches in Sunday's loss to the Patriots. McCaffrey made it through his pre-game workout and the contest unscathed, looking good in his return to the field, as he was able to still get his against a Bill Belichick defense that makes a living against taking away its opponent's best player. The dynamic runner has missed much of the season but has exceeded the 100-yard scrimmage mark in three of four games played. McCaffrey saw a season-low 18 touches, but that's plenty for fantasy managers, as it should keep him fresher as the season goes along. He'll be an elite RB1 for a Week 10 matchup with a Cardinals defense that has struggled to contain pass-catchers out of the backfield.

  • Christian McCaffrey Officially Active In Week 9

Carolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey (hamstring), who was activated from Injured Reserve on Saturday, is officially active in Week 9 against the New England Patriots. McCaffrey is returning to the field for the first time since Week 3, but there have been reports that he will be on a snap count in his return. The 25-year-old running back has been a must-start RB1 each and every week he's been active, but injuries the last two seasons have cast doubt on his fantasy value in his return this week. With a chance that the Panthers will use him sparingly alongside rookie Chuba Hubbard on Sunday, we wouldn't blame fantasy managers for being skeptical this week. If you have other solid options, CMC might best be used as a flex play in his return in Week 9.

  • Panthers Activate Christian McCaffrey From Injured Reserve

The Carolina Panthers activated running back Christian McCaffrey (hamstring) from Injured Reserve on Saturday with hopes that he'll play in Week 9 against the New England Patriots. McCaffrey will go through a pre-game workout just to be sure. It's great news that McCaffrey is coming off IR after being out since Week 3, but now the question becomes: How much does he play if the Panthers are comfortable throwing him out there this weekend? McCaffrey just hasn't been able to stay healthy the last two seasons, so it wouldn't be a surprise at all to see them limit his snaps on Sunday against the Patriots, which doesn't necessarily make him a must-start if he's active. Rookie Chuba Hubbard has done a nice job filling in with McCaffrey injured, and he figures to see most of the backfield work as the Panthers ease McCaffrey back in.

  • Christian McCaffrey Has Chance To Play, To Be On Snap Count If Active

Carolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey (hamstring) has a chance to play in Sunday's game against New England. McCaffrey is not yet on the active roster- the team has until 4 p.m. on Saturday to activate him- but head coach Matt Rhule is optimistic that the star halfback will see his first game action since Week 3. The All-Pro runner will be on a snap count if active, per Rhule, a wise approach given the injuries he's dealt with these last two years. McCaffrey and Hubbard could share the backfield duties- or Hubbard could be tasked with the lead role once again. Fantasy managers should stay tuned on Saturday. McCaffrey would be a strong start, albeit with more risk than usual, against a Patriots defense that has surrendered the second-most receiving yards to backs over the last four weeks.

  • Christian McCaffrey On The Practice Field Thursday

Carolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey (hamstring) was on the practice field Thursday. McCaffrey was reportedly "very limited" during Wednesday's practice, and he likely would have carried the same designation on Thursday's report, as he was limited to riding a bike and stretching. Head coach Matt Rhule had said that he's "hopeful" for the star halfback to play this week- but seeing as he has yet to be activated off injured reserve, Week 10 seems like a more likely timetable for his return. McCaffrey has endured another disappointing, injury-filled season- but it finally seems like his return is around the corner. The Panthers may seriously consider lessening McCaffrey's workload- though he would remain an elite RB1 given how efficient he is with the touches he sees.

  • Christian McCaffrey Reportedly Limited at Practice on Wednesday

Carolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey was at practice with the team on Wednesday, but Head Coach Matt Rhule referred to the star as "very limited" in regards to what he was able to do. Since the Panthers have 21 days to activate him after starting his clock in his return from the IR, it appears unlikely that the franchise superstar will play this week against the Panthers. That would mean another week of Chuba Hubbard against a solid Patriots defense. With P.J. Walker likely to be at quarterback and the Panthers seeming to not want to use Hubbard in obvious passing downs, Hubbard remains a low-end RB2 or FLEX play in what could prove to be a touchdown-dependent matchup.

  • Christian McCaffrey Designated To Return From IR

The Carolina Panthers designated running back Christian McCaffrey (hamstring) to return from Injured Reserve on Wednesday, meaning the team now has 21 days to officially activate him from IR. McCaffrey landed on IR in Week 6 after he aggravated a hamstring injury that he initially suffered in Week 3. The 25-year-old will return to practice this week, but he's not a lock to return in Week 9 against the New England Patriots just yet. Fantasy managers would obviously love to have CMC back in the fold as a do-it-all RB1, but the Panthers will likely be extra cautious after he's missed so much time due to injuries the last two years. Rookie Chuba Hubbard, who has been a volume-based RB2 in McCaffrey's absence, will return to backup duties once McCaffrey is ready to return.

  • Carolina Hopes To Have Christian McCaffrey Back Soon

Carolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey (hamstring) could once again be nearing a return to the field, potentially as soon as Week 9 vs. New England, per Panthers head coach Matt Rhule. "If it's not this week, hopefully it's next week," Rhule said, keeping the options open for the team to hold their star back out until Week 10 against the Cardinals, or even further if all goes against plan. Chuba Hubbard has served as McCaffrey's primary replacement out of the backfield, but there are single-digit players in the league that can put up comparable production to No. 22 when healthy. Check back throughout the week as it appears that fantasy managers are in for more McCaffrey practice updates, as he will be an obvious must-start in all formats if he is cleared, along with retaining his massive DFS upside.

  • Christian McCaffrey On Track To Return In Week 9

Carolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey (hamstring) didn't travel with the team in Week 8 against the Atlanta Falcons, but he's on track to come off Injured Reserve for the Week 9 contest against the New England Patriots. The Panthers should know more about McCaffrey's status when they begin their practice preparations for the week next Wednesday. Based on CMC's injuries dating back to last year, fantasy managers shouldn't get their hopes up too soon. And there's also the question of whether Carolina would limit McCaffrey's snaps in his first game back. Rookie Chuba Hubbard has been filling in for the injured McCaffrey as the team's lead back for the last four games and will do so again this Sunday against Atlanta.

  • Panthers Could Dangle Christian McCaffrey For Deshaun Watson

The Carolina Panthers haven't given up hope of trading for Houston Texans Pro Bowl quarterback Deshaun Watson, according to several sources who have been in close contact with him. It remains a priority for the franchise ahead of Tuesday's trade deadline. The two sides haven't agreed on parameters for a deal, however, and Houston's asking price -- five or six players, including three-first round picks -- remains too high for Carolina's liking. But that could change before Tuesday, and the Panthers are willing to part with three high picks and All-Pro running back Christian McCaffrey, according to league sources. The Panthers have more proven young talent than the Dolphins, and Panthers executive Steve Drummond is close with Texans top exec Jack Easterby. Things could heat up as we approach Tuesday. Stay tuned.

  • Christian McCaffrey Placed On Injured Reserve

Carolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey (hamstring) was placed on the Injured Reserve Saturday, sidelining him for the next three weeks. McCaffrey was able to practice in a limited fashion for four straight sessions spanning from last week to the beginning of this week but was downgraded to a non-participant on Thursday and Friday, suggesting a setback likely occurred at practice. It's an eerily similar situation to last year for the All-Pro running back, who missed a total of 13 games due to a variety of injuries, with the team constantly deeming him "hopeful" to suit up but later ruling him out. It's fair to question if this move is something that should have happened a few weeks ago, given McCaffrey's recent injury history. The Panthers may have to seriously consider reducing the workload of their $64 million star halfback when he returns to preserve his body. In the meantime, Chuba Hubbard, coming off his first career 100-yard game, will be an every-week starter at running back for those lucky enough to scoop him up off waivers.

  • Christian McCaffrey Officially Ruled Out Against Vikings

Carolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey (hamstring) has officially been ruled out for Week 6 against the Minnesota Vikings. McCaffrey missed practice on Thursday and Friday, sealing his fate for a third straight missed game. Things are starting to look awfully similar to his disappointing 2020 season when he missed the majority of the year due to injuries. The Panthers are understandably playing things extra cautiously, but CMC is now developing a reputation of being a really slow healer. Rookie Chuba Hubbard will operate as the team's lead back yet again this Sunday in a good matchup against the Vikings. The fourth-rounder has 158 rushing yards on 37 attempts (4.27 yards per carry) the last two weeks with McCaffrey sidelined. Hubbard will be in play with RB2 upside again in Week 6.

  • Christian McCaffrey Set To Miss Third Straight Game

It looks likely that Carolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey (hamstring) is set to miss his third straight game in Week 6 against the Minnesota Vikings. According to the Panthers, McCaffrey is not at practice on Friday for the second straight day. The writing was on the wall for CMC to miss another game after he missed practice on Thursday after being limited Wednesday and last week. The 25-year-old star running back isn't quite ready to return, but the Panthers are likely being extremely cautious after McCaffrey missed most of last season with injuries. Rookie Chuba Hubbard has yet to score a touchdown in CMC's absence, but he's accumulated 158 rushing yards and 47 receiving yards in the last two games as Carolina's primary back. He'll once again have RB2 upside against Minnesota with McCaffrey set to miss another contest.

  • Christian McCaffrey Looking Doubtful For Sunday

Carolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey (hamstring) is trending in the wrong direction ahead of Sunday's game against the Vikings. McCaffrey was limited on Wednesday but was downgraded to a non-participant Thursday- suggesting that he may have suffered some sort of setback at practice. The star runner hasn't officially been deemed doubtful, but fantasy managers should still begin to prepare for Week 6 as if they'll be without McCaffrey. Chuba Hubbard will be a viable RB2 if McCaffrey is out once again. Hubbard just posted his first career 100-yard game and will take on a Vikings defense that has allowed the sixth-most rushing yards this season.

  • Christian McCaffrey Not At Practice Thursday

There was no sign of Carolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey (hamstring) at the portion of practice open to the media on Thursday. McCaffrey has been limited in the last four practices as he recovers from his hamstring strain, so this isn't a good sign as he hopes to return in Week 6 against the Minnesota Vikings. The star running back has missed the last two games and was considered 50-50 to return this Sunday after he was limited again on Wednesday. Rookie Chuba Hubbard has operated as Carolina's lead back the last two weeks with CMC sidelined, running for 158 yards on 37 attempts while also catching seven of his eight targets for 47 additional yards. It's unknown if McCaffrey has suffered a setback, but we will surely know more on Friday. Hubbard would once again have RB2 upside if he makes his third straight start.

  • Christian McCaffrey Trending Towards Game-Time Call

Carolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey (hamstring) is likely to be a game-time decision this Sunday. McCaffrey practiced in a limited fashion Wednesday, with fantasy managers likely hoping for good news coming out of practice- though head coach Matt Rhule's "50-50' designation wasn't exactly encouraging for the star runner's status. Hopefully, McCaffrey can ramp up his activity as the week progresses- though it sounds like fantasy managers will need to keep rookie Chuba Hubbard on hand in case the former is inactive once again.

  • Christian McCaffrey Practicing In Limited Fashion Wednesday

Carolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey (hamstring) will practice Wednesday, though it will be in a limited fashion, per head coach Matt Rhule. McCaffrey is three weeks removed from suffering a hamstring injury during a Thursday night victory over the Texans, with Rhule noting that he's hopeful the star halfback plays in Week 6. Of course, McCaffrey's limited practice Wednesday is a good sign in that it shows he didn't suffer a setback after last week's practices. However, it also doesn't tell fantasy managers much, as he was limited last week before ultimately sitting out the contest against the Eagles. Stay tuned to the practice reports over the next couple of days. If active, McCaffrey would return to the elite RB1 ranks against a beatable Vikings run defense.

Carolina Panthers head coach Matt Rhule said he's "hopeful" star running back Christian McCaffrey (hamstring) will return for Sunday's Week 6 game against the Minnesota Vikings. Last week, he was a limited participant in practice but was ultimately ruled out ahead of Sunday's contest versus the Eagles. The 25-year-old's status for Week 6 will be determined based on his participation level in practice this week. CMC has rushed for 201 yards on 51 attempts and one touchdown while catching 16-of-17 targets for 163 yards over three games in 2021. Chuba Hubbard will be the Panthers' primary running back if McCaffrey is unable to suit up. Stay tuned for further updates.

Carolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey (hamstring) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Philadelphia Eagles. He was a limited participant in practice this week but ultimately ruled out for Sunday's game. CMC's next chance to return will be Week 6 against the Minnesota Vikings. Chuba Hubbard will be the Panthers' primary running back on Sunday while McCaffrey is sidelined. Hubbard logged 47 percent of the offensive snaps in the Panthers' Week 4 loss to the Cowboys and finished 57 rushing yards on 13 attempts while catching both targets for 14 yards. Rodney Smith will handle third-down duties and is expected to be out there for the majority of passing situations. Hubbard is borderline RB2, while Smith is a boom-or-bust PPR flex in Week 5.

Carolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey (hamstring) is listed as doubtful for the Week 5 game against the Philadelphia Eagles. It's a bummer for fantasy managers after McCaffrey was trending toward a possible return after feeling good in practice all week. CMS is now on track to miss his second straight game with the Panthers being extra careful with their star running back. Rookie Chuba Hubbard now appears to be in line for his second straight start after going for 71 scrimmage yards on 15 touches in a Week 4 loss to the Dallas Cowboys. Royce Freeman and Rodney Smith were also involved, but Hubbard saw 13 of the 16 running back carries. The rookie will have RB2 upside against an Eagles defense that has been a top-10 fantasy matchup for opposing RBs so far this year.

Carolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey (hamstring) said he feels great after a second straight day of limited practice on Thursday and that he "definitely" has a chance to play in Week 5 against the Philadelphia Eagles. McCaffrey is considered questionable and is expected to be a game-time decision Sunday morning, but signs continue to point towards him returning after a one-game absence. Those that took him No. 1 overall in fantasy drafts are certainly hoping he's back, although not if it leads to an aggravation and more missed time. The Panthers will exercise the utmost caution with CMS, so fantasy managers need to start him everywhere if he's back this weekend. Rookie Chuba Hubbard would get his second career start against Philly if McCaffrey misses another game.

Carolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey (hamstring) was at practice again on Thursday. McCaffrey returned to the field Wednesday for a limited session after logging a week straight of missed practices ahead of Week 4- as he dealt with his hamstring injury. Just hours after head coach Matt Rhule said the team is "hopeful" to have the star halfback for Week 5 against the Eagles, McCaffrey was able to practice for a second straight day, a positive sign even if it's ultimately in a limited fashion once again. He has a real chance to suit up for Week 5, though the team could opt to ease him back into the action against a respectable Eagles front. Still, even a somewhat limited McCaffrey would be a must-start in fantasy, as a full workload for him meant 30 and 29 touches respectively in his first two full games played.

CMC is headed for a game-time decision on Sunday morning after missing the Week 4 loss to the Dallas Cowboys. If the 25-year-old do-it-all running back returns, he needs to be returned to all starting fantasy lineups against an Eagles defense that has allowed 455 rushing yards and four total touchdowns to RBs in four games. Rookie Chuba Hubbard saw his first NFL start last week and had 71 scrimmage yards on 15 touches. He'll be on the RB2/3 borderline if McCaffrey misses his second straight game.

Carolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey (hamstring) returned to the practice field on Wednesday, his first on-field work since straining his hamstring against the Houston Texans on Sept. 23 in Week 3. It's good news, but the real indicator of McCaffrey's status for Week 5 against the Philadelphia Eagles will come on Thursday. McCaffrey entered Week 3 as the leader in yards from scrimmage, and he ranks 13th with 364 scrimmage yards entering Week 5. CMC, the consensus No. 1 overall pick in most fantasy leagues, is a must-start anytime he's on the field. Chuba Hubbard will continue to handle the bulk of the carries in McCaffrey's absence, so the rookie can once again have lower-end RB2 or higher-end FLEX-appeal in 10-12 team leagues if the team's star running back is once again held out of action. The 25-year-old won't be guaranteed to be back in Week 5, but there's a chance he'll be ready by Week 6. Rookie Chuba Hubbard and Royce Freeman are expected to split backfield duties this Sunday against Dallas. Hubbard should see first dibs on touches over Freeman and will have clear RB2 upside. • Christian McCaffrey Won't Be Placed On Injured Reserve

Carolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey (hamstring) is not heading to the injured reserve. McCaffrey's hamstring strain, which he suffered during Thursday's win over the Texans, is expected to sideline him for a few weeks, though it's encouraging that the team opted not to place him on injured reserve. The star halfback has a real chance to return within three weeks, as a stint on the injured reserve would require a minimum absence of three weeks. In the meantime, head coach Matt Rhule said that Chuba Hubbard and Royce Freeman would handle the running back duties moving forward. Hubbard was utilized similarly to how the club used Mike Davis last season, making him a priority waiver add wherever he's available.

  • Christian McCaffrey Expected To Miss A Few Weeks

Carolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey (hamstring) is expected to miss a few weeks after straining his hamstring in the Thursday night win over the Houston Texans, according to sources. The Panthers continue to run tests on his hamstring, but they have no current plans to place him on Injured Reserve. Rookie Chuba Hubbard, who had 11 carries for 52 yards and three catches for 27 yards on Thursday, is the next man up and will be a very popular waiver-wire addition early next week with McCaffrey expected to miss some time. Royce Freeman should also mix in with Hubbard for however long CMC is out. McCaffrey was a huge disappointment due to injury in 2020, and those that took him No. 1 overall in fantasy drafts can only hope he'll be back sooner than later.

  • Christian McCaffrey Will Undergo An MRI

Carolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey (hamstring) will undergo an MRI on his hamstring following Thursday's 24-9 win over the Houston Texans. The severity of his injury is unknown at this time, but the Panthers should have a more precise timetable once the MRI results are in. He logged seven carries for 31 rushing yards and two receptions for nine receiving yards before exiting. "Run CMC" will get some extra time to rest up for Week 4's contest against the Dallas Cowboys. The Panthers running back is considered day-to-day. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor the situation. Chuba Hubbard would see an increased role if McCaffrey were to miss any games. Stay tuned for further updates.

  • Christian McCaffrey Has Strained Hamstring

Carolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey (hamstring) is dealing with a strained hamstring. Head coach Matt Rhule said that he doesn't know the severity of the injury yet, but that McCaffrey will get an MRI. The star halfback looked poised for a big game, totaling seven carries for 31 rushing yards and two receptions for nine receiving yards before pulling up with the leg injury and heading to the blue medical tent. Fortunately, McCaffrey will get some extra time to rest up before the Panthers' Week 4 game against Dallas. Still, it's a concerning enough injury to already consider him questionable for the contest.

  • Christian McCaffrey Exits Week 3 With Hamstring Injury

Carolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey (hamstring) is out for the remainder of the team's Week 3 contest against the Houston Texans, per Erin Andrews on the game broadcast. McCaffrey finishes the game with seven carries for 31 yards and two catches for nine yards. Chuba Hubbard should serve as the lead back for the rest of this game and would be a priority add in all fantasy leagues if McCaffrey misses more time with this hamstring injury.

  • Christian McCaffrey Could Have Monster Game Thursday Night

Carolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey is poised for a monster game in Week 3 against the Texans. The Panthers made it clear that they were going to utilize McCaffrey just as often following his injury-filled 2020 season, and they have done just that, entrusting him with 30 touches in Week 1 and another 29 in Week 2. The star halfback has exceeded the 130-scrimmage yard mark in each of the games- and should have no trouble doing so against a Texans defense that has allowed the sixth-most fantasy points per game to running backs through two weeks, after allowing the second-most last year. McCaffrey is a set-it-and-forget-it RB1 in Week 3.

  • No Concerns About Christian McCaffrey's Health Heading Into Week 3

Carolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey is healthy heading into Week 3 against the Texans. Head coach Matt Rhule said he has no concerns about McCaffrey's availability for Week 3, as the star halfback had to exit Sunday's game due to cramps. The All-Pro runner has handled his usual monster workload through two weeks, as he's amassed 59 touches, turning them into 324 scrimmage yards with one touchdown. McCaffrey is a locked-and-loaded RB1 against a Texans defense that allowed 156 rushing yards and three scores to the Browns.

  • Christian McCaffrey Back In The Game

Carolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey (calf) exited Sunday's game against the Saints, but the star rusher eventually returned to the field and managed to add a touchdown to his stat sheet. Considering McCaffrey re-entered this contest, we can safely assume he's good-to-go moving forward. He remains the overall RB1 in redraft and dynasty leagues.

  • Christian McCaffrey Questionable To Return In Week 2

Carolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey (calf) is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the New Orleans Saints. With the Panthers up 17-0, the team might play things safe with McCaffrey, who appeared to be having leg cramps on the sideline. McCaffrey has 17 carries for 58 yards and four catches for 56 yards. Even if he doesn't return, there doesn't seem to be any reason to worry about McCaffrey's availability going forward, though it's always worth monitoring things.

  • Christian McCaffrey A Solid RB1 In Week 2

Carolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey is a solid RB1 this week against the Saints. McCaffrey didn't miss a beat in the season opener as he posted 21 carries for 98 rushing yards and nine receptions for 89 yards on nine targets. The Saints stifled the Packers' rush attack last week, but McCaffrey is the focal point of this offense and his volume and talent make him matchup-proof. Despite the tough matchup, the RB is a solid start in fantasy.

  • Christian McCaffrey Totals 187 Scrimmage Yards

Carolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey carried the ball 21 times for 98 rushing yards and caught all nine targets for 89 receiving yards in Sunday's win over the Jets. The Jets had no answer for McCaffrey, who handled his usual monster workload and looked every bit of the star dual-threat halfback he's been when healthy, as he now has seven games with at least 75 rushing yards and receiving yards, third-most in NFL history behind Marshall Faulk and Priest Holmes. If there were any doubts that the 25-year-old was worth the top overall pick in all drafts, he put them to rest with this performance. McCaffrey hasn't had any trouble staying healthy aside from the 2020 season, meaning fantasy managers should be able to pencil him into their lineups and count on his elite-level workload and production every week. He'll be an elite RB1 in Week 2, even against a Saints defense that was the toughest in the league against running backs last season in terms of fantasy points.

  • Christian McCaffrey "Full Speed and Ready to Go"

Carolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey is a full go to start the season. McCaffrey missed 13 games last year due to injuries but is "full speed and ready to go physically and mentally," per head coach Matt Rhule. That's not particularly surprising, as the Panthers had said that the star halfback would handle a full workload as he had in seasons past, though it's still music to fantasy managers' ears to hear the coaching staff reiterate his good health. Rhule added that the team needs to get the 25-year-old involved early on against New York. With the Panthers currently 5-point home favorites, McCaffrey is slated for around 20-plus touches against a Jets defense that was very giving to opposing receiving backs last season. A Week 1 RB1 finish is certainly within the realm of possibilities, making McCaffrey a must-start in all formats.

  • Christian McCaffrey A Top Play In Week 1

Carolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey will likely reaffirm his status as a top fantasy performer in his Week 1 matchup against the Jets. McCaffrey missed 13 games last season due to ankle, shoulder, quad injuries, though he still handled an average of 25.3 touches per game in three contests where he was healthy- as well as a whopping 926 total touches through his first three seasons, second in the league during that span. The Panthers have indicated that the 25-year-old will handle a large workload once again in 2021, meaning fantasy managers shouldn't even think twice about starting McCaffrey in all formats against the Jets. New York's defense was solid against the run but struggled against receiving backs, allowing the fourth-most targets and receptions to halfbacks in 2020. McCaffrey could finish as the overall RB1 in Week 1.

  • Christian McCaffrey Favorite To Win OPOY

Carolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey is the favorite to win NFL.com's Offensive Player of the Year award. McCaffrey was the overall consensus favorite on the poll, composed of 29 analysts from the site. However, he will need to remain healthy, which was a problem during the 2020 campaign. The 25-year-old battled ankle and shoulder issues last season, and he was relegated to just three contests as a result. Still, he remains atop the fantasy rankings once against heading into the new year, and the latest vote of confidence from the site certainly helps reaffirm the top billing.
