  • Alvin Kamara A Solid Play Despite Tough Matchup

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara is a solid play against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this week in the Divisional Round. Kamara finished with 23 carries for 99 yards and a score last week against a tough Bears Defense and has been sensational for the most part during the 2020 season. In two games against the Bucs in the regular season, the RB finished with 21 carries for 56 yards and two scores along with 10 receptions for 60 yards and a score on 14 targets. Though Tampa allows the fourth-fewest points to fantasy backs, Kamara's exceptional talent and high weekly volume keep him as a terrific fantasy start.

  • Alvin Kamara Rushes For 99 Yards In Wild-Card Win

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara finished with 23 carries for 99 yards and a score along with two receptions for 17 yards on two targets in Sunday's wild-card win over Chicago. Kamara returned to the field after testing positive for COVID-19 and missing the Week 17 regular season finale and didn't miss a beat. Due to his heavy weekly volume, Kamara remains a strong play next week in the Divisional Round, even against a Bucs squad allowing the fourth-fewest fantasy points to backs. He's had three total touchdowns against them this season, but he's rushed for just 56 yards on 21 attempts (2.67 yards per carry) in two games against Tampa in 2020. Fantasy managers might need Kamara to do more through the air if they expect him to be worth the high DFS price.

  • Alvin Kamara, Michael Thomas Officially Active

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara and wide receiver Michael Thomas (ankle) are officially active for the wild-card playoff game against the Bears on Sunday. Kamara tested positive for COVID-19 and missed the Week 17 regular season finale but has been cleared from all the protocols. He was the top fantasy RB in PPR formats and scored six touchdowns to help fantasy managers win their leagues in Week 16. Kamara will be back in a lot of lineups in playoff leagues. Thomas was activated from Injured Reserve on Saturday and will be playing for the first time in four weeks. The 27-year-old All-Pro had a disappointing 2020 season with just 40 receptions, 438 yards and no touchdowns after leading the league the previous two seasons in catches. Thomas will have WR1 upside, but he'll continue to be a risk-reward fantasy pass-catcher, depending on how productive he can be while fighting through his ankle injury.

  • Alvin Kamara, Michael Thomas Activated

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara and wide receiver Michael Thomas (ankle) have been activated ahead of Sunday's wild-card playoff game against the Bears. Kamara tested positive for COVID-19 last week and missed the Week 17 regular season finale. He still needs final clearance before the game on Sunday, but all signs are pointing toward the Saints having their star rusher available. Kamara scored a ridiculous six touchdowns in Week 16 and was the No. 1 overall fantasy RB in PPR leagues in 2020. He'll be a popular fantasy selection on Sunday. Thomas will return from Injured Reserve after battling a high-ankle sprain for much of the season. The top wideout in 2019, the 27-year-old was a huge disappointment this year due to injuries. If he's closer to full health, though, he has WR1 upside on wild-card weekend.

  • Alvin Kamara Says He'll Be Back Sunday

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara, who tested positive for COVID-19 last week and missed the Week 17 win over the Panthers, said he'll be back for Sunday's wild-card game against the Bears. However, he's not back with the team and must wait the mandatory 10 days before he's allowed to return. But he has been taking part in practice remotely via video-conferencing technology and is attending meetings via video conference. Head coach Sean Payton has been mum on whether the team will have Kamara available, but this is a good sign for fantasy managers. The top-scoring fantasy RB in PPR formats in 2020, Kamara will be a high-end RB1 on Sunday, even against a stingy Bears Defense, if he's cleared from the league's COVID-19 protocols.

  • Alvin Kamara A Strong Play, If Active

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara would be a strong play if active on Sunday. Kamara has been on the COVID-19 list since Week 17 and missed the last game of the regular season. This week, there is a chance he could return and the RB would be a strong play even against a Bears squad that is stingy against fantasy backs. In his last game in Week 16, Kamara had a record day with 22 carries for 155 yards and six rushing touchdowns. His volume in this offense contributes to more fantasy value. If he's unable to go, Latavius Murray would be the lead back, but he wouldn't be a strong starting option.

  • Saints Still Hopeful Alvin Kamara Can Play

The New Orleans Saints remain hopeful that running back Alvin Kamara will be able to play in Sunday's wild-card game against the Bears after he tested positive for COVID-19 last week and was forced to miss the Week 17 win over the Panthers. Kamara is participating in live practices this week remotely, according to a source. He will need to continue to test negative to have a chance of being activated in the next couple of days. In PPR formats, Kamara was the No. 1 fantasy RB, even ahead of the NFL's leading rusher in Derrick Henry. So if he's cleared to play, Kamara will be an elite playoff weapon in fantasy. If he isn't cleared from the COVID-19 protocols by Sunday, backup Latavius Murray will become a plug-and-play DFS option.

  • Alvin Kamara, Michael Thomas Could Return Against Bears

The New Orleans Saints are optimistic that both running back Alvin Kamara and wide receiver Michael Thomas (ankle) will be available for the wild-card game against the Bears on Sunday. Kamara tested positive for COVID-19 last week, and it will be a full 10 days before their first-round playoff game against Chicago, so Kamara, Latavius Murray and the entire Saints running back room will have a chance to be active. The Saints running backs must remain asymptomatic and be cleared in order to play. We'll have to keep a close eye on the statuses of Kamara, Murray and Thomas as the week progresses, but New Orleans' offense would receive a huge boost if they were all active against Chicago. Kamara would be a strong RB play for the fantasy playoffs despite a tough matchup with the Bears, while Thomas is a little bit more risky coming off his placement on Injured Reserve.

  • Alvin Kamara Could Play In Opening Round If Cleared

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara (COVID-19 list) has the potential to suit up for the team's Wild Card matchup versus the Bears next Sunday after the team drew a later weekend kick-off slot. Kamara, who tested positive for the virus earlier in the week, would still need to pass through the league's protocols before returning off of the COVID-19/reserve list. His positive test caused the Saints' backfield to be held out of the team's Week 17 win, which allowed Ty Montgomery to become a significant fantasy asset. Whereas other members of New Orleans' backfield have not been confirmed to be positive for the virus, Kamara faces the uphill battle of multiple negative tests before he can take the field again. Check back throughout the week to get updates as they become available.

  • Alvin Kamara Poised For Overall RB1 Finish

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara is coming off one of the best games of all time, a career-high 155 rushing yards and near-record-setting six touchdowns. What's lost in the talk (rightful talk) is the fact that Kamara has racked up at least 90 scrimmage yards and a score in four straight contests. After a late-season dip in fantasy value, the 25-year-old is back as a matchup-proof, top-three option at the position. The Falcons are a middling matchup, as they've allowed the 14th-most fantasy points per game to running backs over the last four weeks. Still, Kamara has a safe floor and a sky-high ceiling, making him an elite RB1 this week in a game New Orleans has to have for a chance at the one seed.

  • Alvin Kamara Records Six Touchdowns

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara had a truly monster game on Friday, getting 22 carries for 155 yards and six touchdowns along with three receptions for 17 yards on five targets. It was the most impressive performance of the RB's career as he single-handedly carried this offense in the game. Due to his rich role and the fact that the Panthers allow the eighth-most points to fantasy RBs, Kamara should be considered a solid RB1 next week in the season finale.

  • Alvin Kamara An RB1 In Week 16

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara is an RB1 this week against the Vikings. The RB now has at least 50 yards rushing in the past four games along with at least six targets and 40 yards receiving in the past two games. His high volume in this offense keeps him in the RB1 tier against a Vikings squad that is middle-tier against fantasy backs.

  • Alvin Kamara Compiles 94 Yards, Touchdown In Loss

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara carried the ball 11 times for 54 rushing yards and caught three of six targets for 40 receiving yards and a score in a Week 15 loss. Kamara found the end zone to salvage his day a bit, but this was not one of his better days. Some of it can be chalked up to Drew Brees being rusty in his return to the field. In a positive twist, Kamara did dominate the backfield touches again, so he seems to have the workload he did earlier in the season. Kamara will face a Vikings Defense next week that allowed 146 rushing yards and two scores to David Montgomery.

  • Alvin Kamara A Strong Play In All Formats

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara is trending back towards being a top-three option for fantasy managers. Kamra exceeded 90 scrimmage yards in Week 14 for the first time since the injury to Drew Brees (ribs, lung), who will be making his return to the lineup against Kansas City. Kamara also saw 10 targets last week and could see a boost in the passing game with an injured Brees sans Michael Thomas (ankle). The star runner should have no trouble putting up big numbers against a Chiefs Defense that has allowed the 10th-most fantasy points per game to halfbacks. Kamara is a must-start in both redraft leagues and DFS formats.

  • Alvin Kamara Efficient In Rushing And Passing Game

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara ended Week 14 with 11 carries for 50 yards and a score along with seven receptions for 44 yards on 10 targets. Kamara had a balanced day and has now rushed for over 50 yards in the past three games. Though his numbers in the receiving game had been down lately, Sunday offered an encouraging sign for Kamara. Overall, the back is an RB1 going forward given his decent roles in the rushing and passing game.

  • Alvin Kamara A Low-End RB1 In Week 14

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara is a low-end RB1 this week. Kamara posted a season-high 88 rushing yards last week on 15 carries. The RB now has at least 45 rushing yards in the past three games along with two rushing touchdowns. What's concerning is that the dual-threat back only has seven total receiving yards in the past three games. Nevertheless, Kamara's decent weekly volume keeps him in the starting tier this week against a Philly squad that is slightly tough against fantasy backs.

  • Alvin Kamara Rushes For Season-High 88 Yards

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara had 15 rushes for 88 yards and a score along with two receptions for nine yards on three targets in Sunday's win over Atlanta. Kamara had been hobbled with a foot injury but still showed out and produced his best rushing total of the season. Though the total of seven receiving yards in the past three games is concerning for the pass-catching back, Kamara's high weekly volume keeps him in the starting tier going forward.

  • Alvin Kamara, Michael Thomas Good To Go

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara (foot) and wide receiver Michael Thomas (ankle) are both good to go for Sunday's game against the Falcons. Both players were full participants in Friday's practice after the Saints held them back on Wednesday and Thursday for maintenance reasons. Kamara had previously hauled in at least five receptions in eight of 11 contests this year, though the presence of Taysom Hill at quarterback has limited his upside. He should be looked at as a low-end RB1. While dominating the target share since Hill took over, Thomas should still be downgraded into the WR2 ranks due to the Saints' newfound, run-first approach.

  • Alvin Kamara A Low-End RB1

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara is a low-end RB1 this week against the Falcons. Kamara is currently dealing with a foot injury and has a total of 99 rushing yards and -2 receiving yards in the past two games. It's clear the injury may be affecting the RB's play and adding onto that is the fact that the Falcons allow the third-fewest points to fantasy backs. As a result, Kamara brings more risk this week but his volume should keep him in the starting tier.

  • Alvin Kamara, Michael Thomas Limited Thursday

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara (foot) and wide receiver Michael Thomas (ankle) were both limited participants in Thursday's practice. Both Thomas and Kamara have had their practice reps capped in each of the past two weeks as they continue to deal with their respective injuries. There's nothing to suggest that they won't be on the field come Sunday, though fantasy managers would be wise to keep a watchful eye on Friday's injury report. Both players should be in fantasy lineups if they're active, though they both carry a bit more risk than normal in the absence of Drew Brees (ribs, lung).

  • Alvin Kamara Has 54 Rushing Yards

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara had 11 carries for 54 yards and one reception for -2 yards in the blowout win over the Broncos. It was a quiet day at the office by Kamara's standards and this was due to Latavius Murray stealing the show this week. Nevertheless, the RB is a focal point of this offense and his weekly role will always be large. In nine of 11 games, Kamara has rushed for at least 40 yards and has had double-digit carries in eight of 11 games. He's an RB1 going forward.

  • Alvin Kamara An RB1 In Week 12

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara is an RB1 against Denver on Sunday. Kamara is dealing with a foot injury right now, but there is no indication that he is in jeopardy of missing the contest. The RB has a total of five touchdowns in the past three games and remains an integral factor in the rushing and passing game. Kamara has double-digit carries and at least seven targets in seven of 10 games. He remains a solid start against a Broncos squad that is middle-tier against fantasy backs.

  • Alvin Kamara Held Without A Catch Against Atlanta

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara carried the ball 13 times for 45 rushing yards and a score in a 24-9 victory over the Falcons. Amazingly, Kamara was held without a catch for the first time in his career, as new starter Taysom Hill opted to scramble rather than check-down to him. It was very puzzling to see the dynamic 25-year-old not utilized in space as he was in past weeks, though it could just be a blip on the radar with all the moving parts in the offense right now. He could also be slightly bothered by his foot, though it's best to give Kamara, who's been a top-three option this year, the benefit of the doubt moving forward. Week 12 brings a middling matchup against the Broncos.

  • Alvin Kamara Doesn't Practice Thursday

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara (foot) wasn't seen at practice on Thursday. Kamara was able to get in a limited practice on Wednesday, so the Saints may just be giving him a little breather similar to a few weeks ago when the star running back was dealing with some sore toes. It's too early to panic, but fantasy managers will be watching Kamara's practice status closely and his official designation for Week 11 against the Falcons. Atlanta has allowed a league-low three rushing touchdowns to running backs and the fifth-fewest fantasy points per game to RBs this year, but Kamara remains a must-start, high-end RB1 when he's on the field. New Orleans could lean more on short passes to Kamara with Drew Brees (ribs, lung) out at least two weeks, too. Check back for his official designation on Friday. Backup Latavius Murray would be a strong RB2 play if Kamara were inactive on Sunday.

  • Alvin Kamara Has Three Touchdowns

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara had eight carries for 15 yards and two touchdowns along with seven receptions for 83 yards and a score on eight targets in Week 10. Kamara continues to be the focal point of this offense and though his numbers in either the rushing or receiving game can be low any given week, his overall scrimmage yards and touchdowns keep him an elite fantasy option. He's in the RB1 tier each week given his high volume.

  • Alvin Kamara An RB1 In Week 10

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara is an RB1 this week against the 49ers. Though he had a bit of a down week in Week 9 due to a blowout win, the RB has posted stellar numbers in the passing and rushing game this season. He has at least 40 rushing yards in seven of eight games along with at least 50 receiving yards in six of eight games. Though the 49ers allow the fewest points to fantasy RBs, Kamara's high weekly volume makes him a solid starter.

  • Alvin Kamara Finds End Zone In Blowout Win

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara carried the ball nine times for 40 rushing yards with a touchdown and caught five of six targets for nine receiving yards. The receiving line seems like a typo, but that's the kind of night it was for Kamara. Fortunately, he was able to salvage his day with a rushing touchdown, his eighth total score of the year. With a 31-0 lead at the half, New Orleans played it very conservative in the second half, resting Kamara for part of the fourth quarter. The star halfback will look to be more involved in Week 10 against the 49ers.

  • Alvin Kamara A Must-Start Despite Tough Matchup

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara faces a tough matchup in Week 9 against the Buccaneers. Tampa Bay is the only team this year to hold Kamara under 100 scrimmage yards, as they've been a tough defense against opposing halfbacks. Still, the ultra-talented 25-year-old is handling a hefty workload and has seven touchdowns scored this year, giving him a solid floor if the yardage totals are there. Kamara may lose some work in the passing game if Michael Thomas (ankle, hamstring) returns, which is likely, though he's still a must-start.

  • Alvin Kamara, Drew Brees Taken Off Injury Report

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara (foot) and quarterback Drew Brees (shoulder) were taken off the final injury report for Week 9 against the Buccaneers and will be active for the important divisional showdown on Sunday night. Kamara is dealing with a minor foot injury. He had 12 carries for 16 yards but found the end zone on the ground in Week 1 against Tampa, also catching five passes for 51 yards and another score. The matchup isn't the greatest, but Kamara is a must-start, high-end RB1. Brees completed only 18 passes for 160 yards against the Bucs in the first matchup, adding two touchdowns. The 41-year-old will be getting receivers Michael Thomas (ankle, hamstring) and Emmanuel Sanders back, but Tampa has been very stingy against QBs this year, making Brees more of a QB2.

  • Alvin Kamara Returns To Practice Thursday

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara (toe) returned to practice on Thursday after being limited by a foot injury that he described as minor on Wednesday. Kamara will play in Week 9 against the division-rival Buccaneers. He is currently second in the league in overall fantasy points at his position, only trailing Dalvin Cook. The do-it-all back ran the ball 12 times for a measly 16 yards in the season-opener against the Bucs, but he found the end zone on the ground and also caught five passes for 51 yards and another score. Tampa's rush defense has been strong in 2020, but Kamara is a must-start, high-end RB1 each and every week.

  • Alvin Kamara Says He'll Return To Practice Thursday

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara (toe) said that he will be back at practice on Thursday after sitting out on Wednesday with an injury that he likened to stubbing "your toe on the corner of a bedpost or something." It's not an injury that will keep Kamara from facing the division-rival Buccaneers on Sunday night, so his fantasy managers can breathe a sigh of relief. Tampa's defense has been stingy against the run this year, but Kamara is a must-start RB1 each and every week. He hasn't found the end zone in the last three games, but he's been productive with over 100 scrimmage yards and at least eight receptions in each of those three games. Keep him locked into your lineups.

  • Alvin Kamara Not Practicing Wednesday

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara (foot) is not practicing on Wednesday due to a foot injury that isn't considered major, according to a source. Unless Kamara suffers a setback later this week, his injury isn't expected to keep him out for the Sunday night showdown with the Buccaneers. Things could get a little dicey for fantasy managers if Kamara gets a questionable tag with the game being on Sunday night, but as of right now, he should still be considered a high-end, must-start RB1 against Tampa's strong defensive line. The 25-year-old hasn't scored in the last three games, but he's managed to exceed 100 total yards and catch eight passes in each of those contests. If Kamara were to be held out, Latavius Murray would have RB2 upside as a plug-and-play option.

  • Alvin Kamara Has Big Day Once Again

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara was once again the focal point of his offense in Sunday's win. The RB amassed 12 carries for 67 yards and nine receptions for 96 yards on 13 targets. Kamara may not be the most effective rusher as he has not gotten more than 83 yards rushing in a game this season, but he does bring value in the rushing and passing game, which certainly helps his fantasy value. The RB now has at least eight receptions, eight targets, and 74 receiving yards in the past three games. His large role should keep him as an RB1 each week even when guys like Michael Thomas return.

  • Alvin Kamara A Yards-After-The Catch Beast

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara has become the focal point of the team's passing offense with wide receiver Michael Thomas (ankle, hamstring) out since Week 1. Emmanuel Sanders also missed the Week 7 game after going on the COVID-19 list. Kamara leads the league in target rate (35.6 percent) on his 149 total routes run, with a good chunk of those being screens (43). He's run more than twice as many screen routes as the next closest player on the list. Kamara has been targeted on 19 screens, catching 16 passes for 139 yards. His 448 yards after the catch go to show why the Saints star running back is a must-start, high-end RB1 each and every week, especially for as long as Thomas continues to sit out.

  • Alvin Kamara An RB1 This Week

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara is an RB1 this week against a tough Bears Defense. Kamara posted 14 carries for 83 yards and eight catches for 65 yards last week, displaying his versatility and importance in both the rushing and passing game. The Bears present a tough matchup for RBs generally, but Kamara's volume should keep him as a strong play, and his value would only escalate if Michael Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders don't suit up.

  • Alvin Kamara Tallies 148 Scrimmage Yards

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara carried the ball 14 times for 83 rushing yards and caught all eight targets for 65 receiving yards in a 27-24 win. The 83 rushing yards tied a season-high for Kamara, as the running room was easy to find against Carolina's ground defense. Amazingly, the star halfback has exceeded 100 scrimmage yards in every game but one- and he ended up with two scores in that contest to salvage his day. There might be no better player to roster in fantasy football right now, so managers should keep riding the Kamara wave into a Week 8 contest against a Bears Defense that can be had on the ground.

  • Alvin Kamara Poised For Monster Performance

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara gets an excellent matchup against the Panthers Defense. Kamara has offered fantasy managers the safest floor of any running back, particularly in PPR formats, as he's had at least 19 fantasy points in every game this season. He'll go up against a Panthers defense allowing the fourth-most fantasy points per game to opposing halfbacks. The Saints will probably go with a more run-heavy approach, seeing as their top-two wideouts- Michael Thomas (ankle, hamstring) and Emmanuel Sanders (COVID-19)- are out for the contest. Kamara is a must-start in redraft leagues and is well worth the price in DFS formats.

  • Saints Keep It Simple With Alvin Kamara In The Red Zone

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara has four rushing touchdowns in the red zone with quarterback Drew Brees under center this year, which is tied for the most in the NFL. Kamara has gained 51 rushing yards on red-zone carries in all formations for a success rate of 73.3 percent on those attempts. He's also caught two red-zone touchdowns while lined up in the backfield. The 25-year-old was held out of the end zone in Week 5 before the team's bye, but he's gone over 100 total yards in four straight games and has at least five catches in four of his five games in 2020. Kamara is an elite must-start RB1 coming off his bye in Week 7 against the Panthers.

  • Alvin Kamara Boasts Tremendous Matchup In Week 7

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara costs a pretty penny in DFS for those fantasy managers who are attempting to slot him into lineups, and with good reason. Kamara is facing off against a Panthers Defense that ranks dead last in the NFL in DraftKings points per game allowed, making him arguably the top running back to target on the slate. Even with Michael Thomas (ankle) scheduled to return to the offense, Kamara should continue to see a sizable role as New Orleans makes the run game a primary focus. Looking ahead, hell face stouter competition in the form of Chicago and Tampa Bay over the following two weeks, yet he still remains one of the premier season-long fantasy assets due to his consistent pass-catching role.
