  • Alvin Kamara A Yards-After-The Catch Beast

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara has become the focal point of the team's passing offense with wide receiver Michael Thomas (ankle, hamstring) out since Week 1. Emmanuel Sanders also missed the Week 7 game after going on the COVID-19 list. Kamara leads the league in target rate (35.6 percent) on his 149 total routes run, with a good chunk of those being screens (43). He's run more than twice as many screen routes as the next closest player on the list. Kamara has been targeted on 19 screens, catching 16 passes for 139 yards. His 448 yards after the catch go to show why the Saints star running back is a must-start, high-end RB1 each and every week, especially for as long as Thomas continues to sit out.

  • Alvin Kamara An RB1 This Week

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara is an RB1 this week against a tough Bears Defense. Kamara posted 14 carries for 83 yards and eight catches for 65 yards last week, displaying his versatility and importance in both the rushing and passing game. The Bears present a tough matchup for RBs generally, but Kamara's volume should keep him as a strong play, and his value would only escalate if Michael Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders don't suit up.

  • Alvin Kamara Tallies 148 Scrimmage Yards

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara carried the ball 14 times for 83 rushing yards and caught all eight targets for 65 receiving yards in a 27-24 win. The 83 rushing yards tied a season-high for Kamara, as the running room was easy to find against Carolina's ground defense. Amazingly, the star halfback has exceeded 100 scrimmage yards in every game but one- and he ended up with two scores in that contest to salvage his day. There might be no better player to roster in fantasy football right now, so managers should keep riding the Kamara wave into a Week 8 contest against a Bears Defense that can be had on the ground.

  • Alvin Kamara Poised For Monster Performance

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara gets an excellent matchup against the Panthers Defense. Kamara has offered fantasy managers the safest floor of any running back, particularly in PPR formats, as he's had at least 19 fantasy points in every game this season. He'll go up against a Panthers defense allowing the fourth-most fantasy points per game to opposing halfbacks. The Saints will probably go with a more run-heavy approach, seeing as their top-two wideouts- Michael Thomas (ankle, hamstring) and Emmanuel Sanders (COVID-19)- are out for the contest. Kamara is a must-start in redraft leagues and is well worth the price in DFS formats.

  • Saints Keep It Simple With Alvin Kamara In The Red Zone

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara has four rushing touchdowns in the red zone with quarterback Drew Brees under center this year, which is tied for the most in the NFL. Kamara has gained 51 rushing yards on red-zone carries in all formations for a success rate of 73.3 percent on those attempts. He's also caught two red-zone touchdowns while lined up in the backfield. The 25-year-old was held out of the end zone in Week 5 before the team's bye, but he's gone over 100 total yards in four straight games and has at least five catches in four of his five games in 2020. Kamara is an elite must-start RB1 coming off his bye in Week 7 against the Panthers.

  • Alvin Kamara Boasts Tremendous Matchup In Week 7

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara costs a pretty penny in DFS for those fantasy managers who are attempting to slot him into lineups, and with good reason. Kamara is facing off against a Panthers Defense that ranks dead last in the NFL in DraftKings points per game allowed, making him arguably the top running back to target on the slate. Even with Michael Thomas (ankle) scheduled to return to the offense, Kamara should continue to see a sizable role as New Orleans makes the run game a primary focus. Looking ahead, hell face stouter competition in the form of Chicago and Tampa Bay over the following two weeks, yet he still remains one of the premier season-long fantasy assets due to his consistent pass-catching role.

  • Alvin Kamara Tops 100 Scrimmage Yards Against Chargers

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara exceeded 100 scrimmage yards for the fourth consecutive game in a 30-27 win over the Chargers. Kamara picked up 45 rushing yards on 11 carries and caught eight of 10 targets for 74 receiving yards, including a juggling, 28-yard reception late in the fourth quarter that led to a game-tying score. It was the first game without a touchdown for the 25-year-old, though he currently has seven total touchdowns after tallying just six all of last season. Kamara is the RB1 heading into a Week 6 bye, despite not going over the 100-yard rushing mark this season. That appears likely to change in Week 7 against a Panthers Defense that has been gashed on the ground this year.

  • Alvin Kamara A No-Doubt RB1 In Week 5

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara faces a semi-tough matchup on Monday Night Football against the Chargers. Los Angeles ranks 10th in fantasy points allowed to running backs, but Kamara's overall workload gives him a safe floor in any matchup. He comes into the contest as the NFL's leader in scrimmage yards with 557, and total touchdowns with seven. Kamara is the undisputed RB1 in fantasy football right now and has the upside to put up monster numbers every week. Set it and forget it when it comes to Kamara in Week 5.

  • Alvin Kamara An RB1 In Week 4

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara is a solid RB1 in this week's clash against the Lions. With Michael Thomas out the past couple of weeks, Kamara has been putting up herculean numbers as his receiving totals have been off the charts. He posted 139 receiving yards in Week 3 and 95 in Week 2. Regardless of whether Thomas returns, the RB's role is too rich on this team and he provides immense value in the rushing and passing game. As the engine of this offense, he's an RB1 against a Detroit squad allowing the seventh-most points to fantasy backs.

  • Alvin Kamara Explodes For 197 Yards, Two Touchdowns

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara was unstoppable in a Week 3 loss to Green Bay. Kamara picked up 58 rushing yards on six carries but was devastating as a receiver, catching 13 of 14 targets for 139 receiving yards and two touchdowns. The 25-year-old was so incredible as a pass-catcher that he would have finished as the WR1 in PPR formats (pending Monday night)- and not far behind in standard leagues. The absence of Michael Thomas (ankle) has clearly resulted in a huge receiving workload for Kamara. Make no mistake though, he looks healthy and explosive and could easily finish as the top scorer at the running back position in both formats even with Thomas back in the lineup. He'll get a Week 4 matchup against the Lions, who have been bad at defending running backs for over a year now.

  • Alvin Kamara Should See Huge Workload Again

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara gets a great matchup in Week 3 against the Packers. Green Bay is a perfect example of a funnel defense, as they rank 13th in pass DVOA but 30th in rush DVOA. Kamara comes into the contest averaging 19 touches, 120 scrimmage yards and two scores per game while ranking as fantasy football's RB2. The 24-year-old was the only running back to rank in the top-15 in both receptions and receiving yards in Week 2- and he should see a similar workload through the air yet again with Michael Thomas (ankle) ruled out. Kamara is a must-start in all formats and he could easily finish within the top-five at the position in Week 3.

  • Alvin Kamara Stuffs The Stat Sheet

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara had a tremendous performance in the Week 2 loss to the Raiders, getting 13 carries for 79 yards and two touchdowns along with leading the team with nine receptions for 95 yards on nine targets. The absence of Michael Thomas thrust Kamara into a huge role and he put on a great display in both the passing and rushing game. He remains a solid RB1 going forward.

  • Alvin Kamara Is An RB1 In Week 2

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara is an RB1 for the Week 2 contest against the Raiders. Despite getting less carries than Latavius Murray in Week 1, Kamara proved valuable in the passing game where he got five receptions on eight targets for 51 yards, and a touchdown. Kamara's huge role on this offense is solidified, so despite the lack of carries last week, he remains an RB1 this week because of the sheer volume he gets consistently.

  • Alvin Kamara Finds The End Zone Twice In Week 1

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara scored two touchdowns- and nearly had a third- en route to a 34-23 victory over the Buccaneers. His potential third score was overturned. It was a rough day for Kamara on the ground against Tampa Bay's strong front, as he picked up just 16 yards on 12 carries, but the touchdowns and his work in the passing game gave him a good stat line. The newly-paid back was actually outpaced in the ground game by Latavius Murray, though it's nothing to be worried about moving forward. Kamara will look to have a better day on the ground in Week 2 against the Raiders, who allowed 96 rushing yards to Christian McCaffrey.

  • Alvin Kamara Signs Lucrative Contract With Saints

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara has agreed to a five-year, $75 million extension with the team Saturday. The deal guarantees Kamara $34.3 million in money and makes him the second-highest paid running back in the league in terms of yearly salary. There was some doubt late in training camp as to whether the deal would get done, but the sides have come to an agreement before Week 1. Kamara is one of only three players in NFL history to have at least 500 rushing and receiving yards in the first three seasons of a career. Fantasy managers should temper expectations a bit for Week 1 against Tampa Bay's strong front, though the season-long outlook remains high for Kamara.

  • Alvin Kamara An RB1 Despite Tough Matchup

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara faces a tough test in his first game of the 2020 season against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Tampa Bay had the best run defense in the NFL in 2019 and returned the starters who helped make it possible. It's certainly a tough matchup on the ground for Kamara, though the Buccaneers struggled to stop receiving backs in fantasy football last year. That could be where Kamara does his damage against this defense, so expect a big number of targets for the 25-year-old. He's a slightly better play in PPR formats because of this, though he should be able to do enough to post RB1 numbers.

  • Saints, Alvin Kamara Close To New Contract Extension

The New Orleans Saints and Pro Bowl running back Alvin Kamara are "extremely close" to a lucrative new contract extension that the two sides are hoping to finalize in the next few days, according to sources. There had been recent trade speculation, but a new deal would silence that talk and keep Kamara in New Orleans through the prime of his career. Even though the 25-year-old dealt with injuries in 2019 and disappointed with just six total touchdowns, he's still a strong RB1 selection in the middle of the first round in fantasy drafts, especially in point-per-reception leagues. Kamara is just a year removed from scoring 18 total times (14 rushing, four receiving), and he continues to operate behind an excellent offensive line in New Orleans.

  • Alvin Kamara Should Be Top-Five Pick In All Formats

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara is healthy after an injury-filled 2019 campaign. It's hard to believe, but Kamara finished as the RB9 last year in PPR formats, despite dealing with an ankle injury and a "torn knee." It's a testament to how good of a player he is and just how high his floor is in fantasy. The 24-year-old is due for some serious positive regression in the touchdown department, as he scored 13 and 19 in his first two years, then just six last year. Fortunately, things seemed to have calmed down around Kamara after contract talks took a turn for the worse and minor back inflammation popped up. He has top-three upside at the running back position in 2020 and should be off the board within the first five picks.

  • Alvin Kamara's Back Not Considered A Problem

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara (back) received a shot in his back for SI joint inflammation, and the shot calmed it down. His back isn't considered a big deal. Kamara's name was in the news late Tuesday night, with some saying the Saints were looking to trade him because they haven't found common ground in long-term contract negotiations. Cooler heads have prevailed, the star running back returned to practice on Wednesday, and the two sides are expected to work something out eventually. The 25-year-old has been a Pro Bowler each of his three years in the league and has exactly 81 receptions each season despite not reaching the 1,000-yard rushing mark. Behind a great offensive line in an explosive offense, Kamara remains a top-five fantasy commodity.

  • Alvin Kamara Returning To Practice

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara is expected to return to practice on Wednesday while long-term contract negotiations with the team continue. Kamara told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport that he didn't make any trade demands, but he has had some unexcused absences from training camp. He's expected to be fined $200,000 ($15,000 for each day missed). As of late Tuesday night, cooler heads prevailed and the two sides are expected to get back to the negotiating table with the season approaching. The gap in negotiations isn't that big, so the expectation is that Kamara will stick around in New Orleans long term. The 25-year-old has more touchdowns and yards per rush than Christian McCaffrey, the consensus No. 1 overall fantasy pick. Kamara is easily a top-five fantasy target in the first round of drafts.

  • Saints "Open" To Trading Alvin Kamara

According to a tweet from ESPN's Josina Anderson, the New Orleans Saints are "open" to trading running back Alvin Kamara. It has been a busy news day for Kamara, who reportedly told Ian Rapoport that he is not holding out of training camp. The star running back had a string of unexcused absences from camp earlier in the week, which were reported as being contract related. Kamara played on an injured knee and ankle in the 2019 season and is looking to cash in on a big payday before he can become a free-agent. The rumors swirling around Kamara make him a risky fantasy pick in the middle of the first round in drafts this weekend as his stock could take a big hit if he either holds out or lands in a less favorable situation via trade.

  • Alvin Kamara's Absences From Camp Are Contract-Related

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara has been a no-show at training camp the past three days and the unexcused absences are believed to be contract-related, according to Adam Schefter. Kamara was asked about his contract on August 10 and said he wasn't concerned with it at all, though clearly something has changed. The 25-year-old is due $2.133 million for the year, though he watched as fellow top backs Christian McCaffrey and Derrick Henry received big paydays this offseason. It's unfortunate timing, as fantasy drafts are in full swing and the season is fast approaching but both sides seem to want to get a deal done. Don't let Kamara fall too far down the draft boards just yet.

  • Alvin Kamara Contract Extension Talks Slowly Picking Up

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara could see a contract extension sometime in the future, per ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. Despite dealing with ankle and knee injuries during his three-year NFL career, the 25-year-old has been ultra-productive for New Orleans and a valuable fantasy asset, as he finished fourth among fantasy backs in 2017 and 2018 before coming in 16th in 2019. Last season, the Tennessee product had 797 rush yards, five rush touchdowns, 4.7 yards per rush, 81 receptions, 533 receiving yards, and one receiving touchdown in 14 games despite dealing with what was confirmed to be a torn MCL. With Kamara healthy now, expect him to be a factor for the Saints once again in 2020. He is a top-five fantasy back.

  • Alvin Kamara Dealt With Torn Knee In 2019

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara spoke to the media earlier Monday and offered more details about his injury-plagued 2019 season. Kamara said he "tore his knee' in Week 5 against Jacksonville last year and that he had to deal with it the rest of the season. The 25-year-old didn't require surgery, though he spent the entire offseason rehabbing the knee and said he feels healthy now. Kamara finished as the RB16 in PPR formats despite dealing with the knee and ankle injuries. Coming into 2020 a bit leaner after adopting a plant-based diet, Kamara is poised to have the best season of his career in a contract year. He should be a top-five pick in both formats and could be taken as early as the third pick in PPR leagues.
