Kareem Hunt Held To 48 Rushing Yards In Week 13

Cleveland Browns running back Kareem Hunt carried the ball 12 times for 48 yards and added one catch for no gain in a 36-19 loss to the Los Angeles Rams in Week 13. Hunt wound up leading the Cleveland backfield as he had three more carries than Jerome Ford but he wasn't able to find much room to operate against the Rams defense. Settling in as a touchdown-or-bust flex option in fantasy, the veteran tailback will now begin preparations to face off against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 14.

Kareem Hunt A Flex Option In Week 13

Cleveland Browns running back Kareem Hunt will head on the road to take on the Los Angeles Rams in Week 13. Hunt opened the practice week limited with a groin injury but he was upgraded to a full session by Friday and does not have an injury status on the Browns' final injury report of the week. The Rams will pose a tough challenge for Hunt as they are allowing just the 26th-most fantasy points per game to running backs in 2023. That being said, Hunt has been Cleveland's preferred goal-line back and has a decent shot at finding the end zone most weeks. He can be utilized as a flex option in fantasy heading into Week 13.

Kareem Hunt Limited On Thursday

Cleveland Browns running back Kareem Hunt (groin) was a limited participant during Thursday's practice session. The veteran back was able to play in Week 12, but must've suffered a minor groin issue during the game. Possibly, the Browns are just playing it safe, so that's why Hunt hasn't been full during practice to begin the week. If he sits, Jerome Ford would likely be asked to play a bigger role in the offense against the Los Angeles Rams. An increased role should give him more fantasy value, but fantasy managers will have to check back for another update on Hunt.

Kareem Hunt Won't Practice Wednesday

Cleveland Browns running back Kareem Hunt (groin) will not take part in Wednesday's practice. It's unclear if Hunt's groin injury is serious enough to threaten his availability for the Week 13 contest versus the Los Angeles Rams, but the 28-year-old did see only seven carries in the team's Week 12 loss to the Denver Broncos. Hunt continues to work alongside Jerome Ford in the Browns' backfield with Nick Chubb (knee) lost for the season. We'll keep a close eye on his practice status the rest of the week. If Hunt is limited at all or ruled out, Ford could see an even larger lead-back workload against LA, while Pierre Strong Jr. would also have an elevated role as the primary backup in Week 13.

Kareem Hunt Runs For 22 Yards In Week 12 Loss

Cleveland Browns running back Kareem Hunt carried the ball seven times for 22 yards in a 29-12 loss to the Denver Broncos in Week 12. Hunt finished second on the team in rushing, well behind leader Jerome Ford's 65 yards. Hunt also didn't draw a target, leaving him with just 12 across his six games played in 2023. The veteran's role in the Cleveland backfield has been much different than in recent years as he's been used as the short-yardage back as opposed to the pass-catching role he occupied in past seasons. Hunt will remain a touchdown-or-bust flex option heading into a Week 13 matchup against the Los Angeles Rams.

Kareem Hunt A Flex Option In Week 12

Cleveland Browns running back Kareem Hunt had a five-game touchdown streak snapped in a Week 11 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. He will look to get back into the end zone in a Week 12 road matchup against the Denver Broncos. Denver's defense has struggled to slow opposing running backs in 2023 as they are allowing the most fantasy points per game to the position thus far. Hunt has worked his way into a committee with Jerome Ford this season, although he is the preferred red-zone option over the latter with 15 carries inside the opponent's 20-yard line to Ford's seven. Hunt is worth a look as a flex option in fantasy heading into Week 12.

Jerome Ford, Kareem Hunt Expected To Be Busy Against Broncos

The Cleveland Browns are expected to get back to riding running backs Jerome Ford and Kareem Hunt in a combination in Week 12 against the Denver Broncos, a defense that has the No. 31 rush defense by DVOA. The Broncos defense is last by a wide margin in opponent yards per rush attempt (5.5) and yards per game (160). More safe passes are expected from rookie quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson as well, which should also favor Ford and Hunt (mostly Hunt) in the passing game. Denver's defensive numbers remain skewed from their 70-point debacle against the Dolphins earlier this year, but it's no secret they are vulnerable on the ground, and the Browns will aim to exploit that. Both Ford and Hunt are intriguing fantasy options this week for that reason.

Kareem Hunt Runs For 36 Yards In Week 11 Win

Cleveland Browns running back Kareem Hunt carried the ball 12 times for 36 yards and added three receptions for one yard in a 13-10 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 11. Hunt and starter Jerome Ford both wound up with 12 carries in the close win, while his three catches tied a season-high set back in Week 6 against the San Francisco 49ers. Hunt did see a five-game touchdown streak come to an end against the Steelers but his usage in the Cleveland offense of late has been encouraging. He will be in the mix as an RB3 in Week 12's road matchup against the Denver Broncos.

Kareem Hunt Looking To Extend TD Streak In Week 11

Cleveland Browns running back Kareem Hunt has scored a touchdown in five straight games. He will look to extend that streak in Week 11's home matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Hunt wasn't with the team back in Week 2 when these teams first met but Pittsburgh has been generous to running backs this season, allowing the 10th-most fantasy points per game to the position. That being said, the Cleveland offense will be forced to start rookie QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson this week with Deshaun Watson (shoulder) out for the remainder of the season. The Browns offense may struggle in efficiency with DTR under center, but they are also likely to deploy a more run-heavy approach moving forward. Hunt is on the map as a solid RB3/flex option in fantasy leagues in Week 11.

Kareem Hunt Finds The End Zone In Week 10 Win

Cleveland Browns running back Kareem Hunt carried the ball 10 times for 32 yards and a touchdown but was not targeted in the passing game in a 33-31 win over the Baltimore Ravens in Week 10. Hunt found the end zone on a three-yard run in the third quarter to give the Browns their first score of the second half in the exciting comeback win over Baltimore. The veteran tailback hasn't been posting gaudy rushing numbers but he's shown a nose for the end zone as he has now scored six touchdowns in his past five contests. Hunt will continue to mix in behind starter Jerome Ford but the Browns have consistently been giving him double-digit touches over the past five games. He has settled in as a solid flex most weeks and will be so again in Week 11 against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Kareem Hunt A Flex Option In Week 10

Cleveland Browns running back Kareem Hunt has now scored at least one touchdown in four straight games as he gears up to face off against the Baltimore Ravens on the road in Week 10. Sitting on five touchdowns overall, Hunt has mostly been splitting work with Jerome Ford but it is clear that the coaching staff trusts him in the red zone. The Ravens represent a tough matchup for Hunt, however, as they are allowing just the 25th-most fantasy points per game to running backs in 2023. Hunt should be good to receive his customary 12 or so carries, but Cleveland could struggle to move the ball in this one. Treat Hunt as a low-end RB3/flex option heading into Week 10.

Kareem Hunt Finds The End Zone In Win Over Cardinals

Cleveland Browns running back Kareem Hunt carried the ball 14 times for 38 yards and a touchdown while failing to corral his lone target in a 27-0 win over the Arizona Cardinals in Week 9. Hunt found the end zone for the fifth time in four games on a three-yard run in the fourth quarter. The veteran tailback continues to work behind Jerome Ford but the Browns have run the ball frequently enough to keep Hunt in the conversation as a viable fantasy starter. He will take on the Baltimore Ravens in an important divisional matchup in Week 10.

Kareem Hunt A Solid Flex In Week 9

Cleveland Browns running back Kareem Hunt will suit up against the Arizona Cardinals at home in Week 9. Hunt has been productive of late as he's scored four times in his past three games. That being said, Hunt will have to split the backfield as Jerome Ford (ankle) practiced fully on Friday and is listed without an injury status heading into Week 9. Hunt has shown that he can be fantasy-relevant even while splitting the work, so fantasy gamers can treat him as a high-end RB2/flex option in Week 9.

Kareem Hunt Finds The End Zone In Week 8 Loss To Seattle

Cleveland Browns running back Kareem Hunt carried the ball 14 times for 55 yards and a touchdown while adding a 12-yard catch in a 24-20 loss to the Seattle Seahawks in Week 8. Jerome Ford (ankle) came into the game questionable but wound up suiting up, although it was Hunt who got the start and handled more touches than the former. Hunt has been productive of late as he has four touchdowns over his past three games in a backup role. He should settle in as a quality RB3 heading into a Week 9 matchup against the Arizona Cardinals.

Kareem Hunt Could Be Week 8 Starter For Browns

Cleveland Browns running back Kareem Hunt is coming off of a two-touchdown game in a Week 7 win over the Indianapolis Colts. Hunt will look to stay hot in Week 8's road matchup against the Seattle Seahawks. The Seahawks have been solid against running backs this season as they are allowing just the 20th-most fantasy points per game to the position thus far. Hunt could lead the Cleveland backfield this weekend as normal starter Jerome Ford (ankle) is listed as questionable after he sprained his ankle in Week 7. Fantasy gamers will want to monitor the situation closely because Hunt will be startable as an RB2 in Week 8 if Ford ends up getting ruled out. If Ford ultimately ends up toughing it out through the injury, Hunt would be more of a flex option against Seattle.

Kareem Hunt Removed From Injury Report

Cleveland Browns running back Kareem Hunt (thigh) has been removed from the injury report ahead of the Week 8 matchup against the Seattle Seahawks. Hunt was limited in practice on both Thursday and Friday this week. Despite that, Hunt appears to be fine heading into the weekend. Fellow running back Jerome Ford (ankle) is currently considered as questionable for this game. The absence of Ford could make Hunt a possible low-end RB2 option in PPR formats.

Kareem Hunt Practicing On Thursday

Cleveland Browns running back Kareem Hunt (thigh) was practicing with the team on Thursday. He was listed as DNP the day before, though was reportedly working on the side while managing the thigh injury responsible for his questionable tag in Week 7. With Jerome Ford (ankle) doubtful for Week 8, Hunt will likely be the lead back against the Seattle Seahawks. Depending on his own health, Hunt could cede work to Pierre Strong Jr. who logged season highs in snaps and carries last Sunday with Ford departing early due to his injury. Hunt and Strong finished Week 7 with similar lines, though Hunt's two touchdowns pushed him well ahead of Strong in terms of fantasy production. Hunt will likely be the primary red zone option again, and it would take another score for him to maintain fantasy relevance as the Seahawks have allowed the fewest rushing yards in the league to opposing running backs in 2023.

Kareem Hunt Scores Twice In Week 7

Cleveland Browns running back Kareem Hunt carried the ball 10 times for 31 yards and two touchdowns while failing to catch his lone target in a 39-38 win over the Indianapolis Colts in Week 7. Hunt wound up being the hero in the game as his one-yard touchdown run with 15 seconds left in regulation was the game-winning score in the wild win. Hunt could see even more work in the near future as starter Jerome Ford left the stadium in a walking boot after injuring his ankle during the win. If Ford is unable to play in Week 8 against the Seattle Seahawks, Hunt would operate as Cleveland's lead back while Pierre Strong Jr. would mix in as the team's breather back. He's likely already rostered in the majority of leagues but fantasy managers will want to double-check for Hunt on waiver wires this week.

Kareem Hunt Active For Week 7

Cleveland Browns running back Kareem Hunt (thigh) is officially active for Sunday's game against the Indianapolis Colts. Hunt had been listed as questionable and was viewed as a true game-time decision. After pregame warmups, the Browns decided he was good to go for Week 7. Jerome Ford will lead the Browns' backfield, ranking as a low-end fantasy RB2. Hunter offers some RB3/FLEX appeal, especially amidst a week full of bye weeks and injuries at the running back position.

Kareem Hunt Will Be Tested In Warmups On Sunday

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Cleveland Browns running back Kareem Hunt (thigh) "will be tested in pre-game warmups to determine if he can play" in Week 7 against the Colts. The team is certainly hoping he'll suit up. However, Hunt is battling a strained thigh, with Schefter adding, "Cleveland has concerns about his availability." That said, the 28-year-old remains questionable, although fantasy managers realistically may not see him out there. If that's the case, Jerome Ford's fantasy stock will rise for the favorable matchup versus Indianapolis. There's also a chance Pierre Strong Jr. or Deon Jackson could get involved, although neither would be considered a reliable fantasy option.

Kareem Hunt A Flex Option In Week 7

Cleveland Browns running back Kareem Hunt (thigh) is listed as questionable heading into a Week 7 matchup against the Indianapolis Colts. Hunt did not practice with a thigh issue on Wednesday but he got in limited sessions on Thursday and Friday. If the veteran running back is able to play in Week 7, he can be treated as a flex option in what sets up as a favorable matchup against the Colts as Indianapolis is allowing the 11th-most fantasy points per game to opposing running backs in 2023. The Browns ramped up Hunt's workload in Week 6, giving him 15 touches after he saw just 12 combined touches in his previous two games. Treat Hunt as a high-end RB3/flex option in Week 7.

Kareem Hunt Questionable For Week 7

The Cleveland Browns listed running back Kareem Hunt (thigh) as questionable to face the Indianapolis Colts in Week 7 on Sunday. Hunt was limited in practice all week, so he seems to be on the right side of questionable for this weekend's game. The 28-year-old remains more of a complement to lead back Jerome Ford with Nick Chubb (knee) done for the year, but Hunt saw his biggest workload of the year in the Week 6 win over the San Francisco 49ers, carrying the ball a season-high 12 times for 47 yards and a touchdown while adding three catches for 24 yards. He was involved more in quarterback P.J. Walker's first start of the game with Cleveland hanging onto a lead in the second half in a surprising win over the Niners. Fantasy managers can't expect another similar role if Hunt plays in Week 7.

Kareem Hunt Upgraded To Limited Thursday

Cleveland Browns running back Kareem Hunt (thigh) returned to a limited practice on Thursday. Hunt is dealing with a thigh issue and missed Wednesday's practice but was able to get back on the field Thursday. Another limited session, or better, on Friday would keep the 28-year-old former Pro Bowler on course to play in Week 7 against the Indianapolis Colts. Hunt is coming off his best game since returning to Cleveland, handling 12 carries for 47 yards and a touchdown with three catches for an additional 24 yards in Week 6's 19-17 triumph over the San Francisco 49ers. Though Hunt played only 37% of the team's offensive snaps to Jerome Ford's 50% rate in the victory, the veteran back looks like a passable RB2/3 with five teams on a Week 7 bye.

Kareem Hunt Not Practicing Wednesday

Cleveland Browns running back Kareem Hunt (thigh) will not practice on Wednesday, according to the team. Hunt was apparently injured in the upset win over the San Francisco 49ers in Week 6, but he'll have two more chances to get back on the practice field later this week. The 28-year-old had his best game since rejoining the team on Sunday, carrying the call a season-high 12 times for 47 yards and one touchdown while catching three passes for an extra 24 yards. If Hunt cannot play this weekend against the Indianapolis Colts, Jerome Ford will have an even bigger workload as the unquestioned lead back for Cleveland. Hunt, meanwhile, could see more work out of the backfield as long as P.J. Walker steps in for the injured Deshaun Watson (shoulder) at quarterback.

Kareem Hunt Finds The End Zone In Week 6

Cleveland Browns running back Kareem Hunt carried the ball 12 times for 47 yards and a touchdown while adding three receptions for 24 yards in a 19-17 win over the San Francisco 49ers in Week 6. Hunt scored Cleveland's only touchdown on a rugged 16-yard run in the second quarter. He was also much more involved in the Cleveland offense as he had just 12 total touches coming into the game. Jerome Ford appears to be locked in as Cleveland's lead running back but Hunt could carve out some value as a flex option if he starts seeing double-digit touches each game moving forward. He will take on the Indianapolis Colts on the road in Week 7.

Kareem Hunt A Low-End Option In Week 6

Cleveland Browns running back Kareem Hunt will suit up against the San Francisco 49ers at home in Week 6. Hunt has now played in two games for the Browns, totaling 10 carries for 25 yards and adding two catches for 22 yards as the breather back for Jerome Ford. The 49ers will be a tough test for Hunt and Ford as they are allowing just the 25th-most fantasy points per game to running backs through five games. Hunt should not be strongly considered as a fantasy starter in 12-team leagues heading into Week 6.

Cleveland's rushing attack has struggled since Nick Chubb was injured in Week 2, with Ford averaging just 2.3 yards per carry in Weeks 3 and 4, so Hunt could possibly hear his number called more frequently going forward. Cleveland Browns running back Kareem Hunt (groin, ribs) has been removed from the injury report ahead of Sunday's game against the Baltimore Ravens. Hunt re-signed with the Browns after Nick Chubb's catastrophic knee injury in Week 2. In Week 3, he had seven touches for a total of 45 yards from scrimmage. He will continue operating as the backup to Jerome Ford (shoulder) but may see his workload expand as he gets back into game shape. For Week 4, Hunt is a deep-league flex play at best.

Kareem Hunt Returns To Practice

Cleveland Browns running back Kareem Hunt (groin, ribs) was unable to practice on Wednesday, but he returned to a limited session on Thursday, giving him a chance to play this weekend against the Baltimore Ravens. Hunt apparently got nicked up in his season debut in the Week 3 win over the Tennessee Titans, but his injuries don't appear to be very serious. The 28-year-old was eased into the offense last week and had just five carries for 13 yards while catching two of his three targets for 22 yards. Hunt should have a bigger role eventually alongside Jerome Ford, but he'll be an RB3/flex in deep PPR leagues, at best, for his second game in Week 4 against the Ravens on Sunday.

Kareem Hunt Expected To Play In Week 4

Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski said he expects running back Kareem Hunt (groin, ribs) to play in Week 4 against the division-rival Baltimore Ravens on Sunday despite not practicing on Wednesday. Hunt apparently was banged up in his 2023 debut in Sunday's victory over the Tennessee Titans, but he should be able to return to practice later this week and play in Week 4. The 28-year-old played 20 percent of the team's offensive snaps last week compared to Jerome Ford's 56 percent. He had just five carries for 13 yards and caught two passes for 22 yards. Hunt should be more involved as the season progresses, but he'll still be a shaky flex play in deeper leagues, at best, if he plays in Week 4.

Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski said that newly signed running back Kareem Hunt is "going to play" in his season debut in Week 3 against the Tennessee Titans. However, how much Hunt actually plays on Sunday will be determined. The 28-year-old was a popular waiver-wire pickup this week after Nick Chubb went down with a gruesome season-ending knee injury on Monday night. It's unknown what kind of shape Hunt is actually in, but all signs point to the Browns leaning on Jerome Ford as their lead back moving forward. If anything, Hunt will merely be a thorn in Ford's side as he steals valuable touches away, mainly in obvious passing situations on third downs. We wouldn't recommend using Hunt right away as a flex option in PPR leagues in his first game in 2023.

Kareem Hunt Signs With The Browns

The Cleveland Browns have signed running back Kareem Hunt to a one-year, $4 million contract. Hunt is no stranger to Cleveland as the 28-year-old spent the previous four seasons with the Browns before the team let him hit free agency last offseason. Even though he was unable to sign on with another team, he fits in well in Cleveland due to his familiarity with the offense. In the wake of Nick Chubb's (knee) season-ending injury, head coach Kevin Stefanski believes Jerome Ford will lead the backfield so Hunt will likely take on a secondary role. It could take some time for Hunt to get back into game shape but he could be valuable in the passing game. He's totaled 211 catches for 1806 yards (8.6 YPC) over his six-year career between the Chiefs and the Browns. Hunt should be rostered in all 12-team formats for now but fantasy managers should take a wait-and-see approach before inserting him into their starting lineups so they can gauge his usage.
