Kenyan Drake To Play "Significant" Role In Rotation
Las Vegas Raiders running back Kenyan Drake "will play a significant role in the rotation" this season, according to Tashan Reed of The Athletic. Drake suffered a broken right ankle in Week 13 of the 2021-22 campaign and had surgery in December. However, he was cleared for training camp and continues to work his way back into shape. Nonetheless, with Drake and Josh Jacobs expected to share snaps out of the backfield this season, both men likely won't be consistent fantasy producers. Yet, with Jacobs having trouble staying healthy over the years, Drake has a chance to be more involved, which should positively impact fantasy managers. The 28-year-old is a proven runner, racking up 29 touchdowns on the ground throughout his career, and his ability to catch passes will give him even more appeal in PPR formats.

Kenyan Drake Cleared To Start Training Camp
Las Vegas Raiders running back Kenyan Drake (ankle) has been medically cleared to start training camp. Drake had surgery last December for a gruesome broken ankle suffered last season, and he missed all of the team's offseason program and mandatory minicamp in June. But he'll be back for training camp and will be looking to hold off rookie fourth-rounder Zamir White and ex-Patriot Brandon Bolden as the primary complementary pass-catching back behind Josh Jacobs. The 28-year-old's work load shrunk in 2021 before he broke his ankle, and the new coaching staff in Las Vegas will want him to prove his health before giving him a big pass-catching role. Drake could still be useful in deep PPR leagues, but his upside is more limited now with White and Bolden lurking.

Latest On Raiders RB Kenyan Drake
Kenyan Drake‘s season ended a bit early when he suffered a broken leg in December. While the Raiders running back wasn’t cleared for minicamp last month, he’s optimistic he’ll be on the field for the start of training camp. “I’m definitely going to be ready for camp,” Drake said during a recent appearance on the […]
Jul 19 · Pro Football Rumors Raiders Kenyan DrakeKenyan Drake Says He'll Be Ready For Training Camp
Las Vegas Raiders running back Kenyan Drake (ankle), who suffered a gruesome season-ending broken ankle in Week 13 last year, said he expects to be ready when training camp kicks off later this month, although he might not be full-go right away. "I'm definitely going to be ready for camp. It's not going to be full speed ahead once I get into camp, but for the regular season, I'm going to be definitely ready to go," Drake said. In six games before his injury, he had 342 total yards and three touchdowns and was hitting his stride as a complementary back behind Josh Jacobs. The 28-year-old could still be worth a late-round flier in deep PPR leagues, but he'll be in a new offense this year behind Jacobs and will be competing for touches with rookie Zamir White, who has the potential for a big role in his first season in the NFL.

Kenyan Drake On Track For Training Camp
Las Vegas Raiders running back Kenyan Drake (ankle) appears to be on track to get back on the field at some point during training camp, which starts in late July. Drake's season was ended last year after 12 games when he broke his right ankle. In those 12 games, he had 63 carries for 254 yards and two touchdowns, adding 30 receptions on 40 targets for 291 yards and another score. Barring any setbacks, the 28-year-old should be good to go for the start of the regular season, where he's expected to again mainly serve as a pass-catching complement to lead-back Josh Jacobs. Drake will be a solid handcuff for Jacobs owners and could have some standalone flex appeal in PPR leagues, but the Raiders also added Brandon Bolden and rookie Zamir White to their backfield this offseason.
