William Jackson III Feeling "Great"
Free-agent cornerback William Jackson III (back) reported he's received interest from several NFL teams. The veteran also stated he's "100%" after suffering a back injury last season. "I'm great," said Jackson while speaking to Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2. "Just a minor setback for a major comeback." Jackson signed a three-year, $42 million deal with Washington in 2021. Unfortunately, he's coming off a rough 2022 campaign, appearing in only four games for the Commanders before being traded to Pittsburgh ahead of the deadline. However, the 30-year-old never played a game with the Steelers because of the back injury and was released in March 2023. Nonetheless, Jackson could find himself a new team heading into training camp. But he isn't expected to offer much of anything to IDP managers, no matter where he lands next.

The Pittsburgh Steelers released cornerback William Jackson III on Friday, according to sources. Jackson has recorded five career interceptions and 51 pass breakups in his career and was due nearly $12.2 million against the 2023 salary cap. The 30-year-old defensive back began the 2022 campaign with the Washington Commanders before being dealt to Pittsburgh. He didn't play at all for the Steelers while being on Injured Reserve due to a back injury. In just four starts in D.C., he had 16 tackles (15 solo) and two passes defensed. The former first-round pick by the Cincinnati Bengals in 2016 will look for work on the open market after recording 205 tackles (170 solo), one sack, five interceptions (one for a TD) and 51 passes defensed in his six NFL seasons.
