  • Taylor Heinicke Throws Two Touchdowns In Win

Washington Commanders quarterback Taylor Heinicke completed 14-of-23 passes for 138 yards with two touchdowns and one interception during Sunday's win over the Atlanta Falcons. In a game that was hampered by weather, Heinicke continued his stretch of unimpressive offensive play that leads to team wins. Throughout his time as the starter this season, the 29-year-old has won five-of-six starts. Heinicke is looking like a game-manager quarterback that keeps his team out of trouble for most of the game. With his recent production, he's looking like a QB2 the rest of the way.

  • Taylor Heinicke Gets Solid Matchup In Week 12

Washington Commanders quarterback Taylor Heinicke is facing a favorable matchup in Week 12. The Commanders are taking on the Atlanta Falcons this week, a team that is allowing the ninth most fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks this season. However, even with this solid matchup, the 29-year-old hasn't been the best fantasy quarterback this season as he's coming off two straight single-digit performances. The strong matchup combined with Heinicke's low ceiling has him looking like an okay streaming option for quarterback-needy teams in Week 12.

  • Taylor Heinicke Does Enough To Secure Win

Washington Commanders quarterback Taylor Heinicke completed 15-of-27 passes for 191 yards in Sunday's win over the Houston Texans. It was a fairly uneventful day for the 29-year-old. After being named the starter moving forward, Heinicke quarterbacked the Washington offense to another win, his fourth in five starts. Unfortunately, leading his team to a win didn't translate into a productive performance as Houston's pass defense was effective. With the Commanders facing the Atlanta Falcons' terrible pass defense in Week 12, Heinicke could be in line for a statistical rebound.

  • Taylor Heinicke To Remain Starting QB For Now

Washington Commanders quarterback Taylor Heinicke is expected to remain the starter even after Carson Wentz (finger) returns from injured reserve, according to NFL.com's Ian Rapoport. Heinicke has looked solid in Wentz's absence, completing 62 percent of his passes for 840 yards, five touchdowns, and four interceptions. All the while, he has led the Commanders to a 3-1 record over the course of his four starts. Until Wentz is activated, rookie Sam Howell will operate as Heinicke's backup, and there is the potential for him to see some snaps if Sunday's game against the Houston Texans gets out of hand.

  • Latest On Commanders' Plans At Quarterback

Carson Wentz is just about ready to return to practice, but for the time being, the Commanders will be rolling with Taylor Heinicke at quarterback. Ron Rivera told reporters that Heinicke will start this Sunday against the Texans, per Nicki Jhabvala of the Washington Post (on Twitter). Rivera doesn’t seem to be committing to Heinicke […]

  • Taylor Heinicke Will Start In Week 11

Washington Commanders head coach Ron Rivera announced on Wednesday that quarterback Taylor Heinicke will start in Week 11 against the Houston Texans. Carson Wentz (finger) has been cleared to start throwing, but the team hasn't designated him to return to practice from Injured Reserve. Wentz could end up taking over the starting role eventually, but with Heinicke leading the team to a 3-1 record as the starter, the Commanders aren't in any rush to remove Wentz from Injured Reserve. Heinicke is a gritty and tough football player that his teammates have rallied behind. The 29-year-old signal-caller has thrown for 840 yards, five touchdowns and four interceptions on 121 attempts in his four starts this year. He'll make for a midrange QB2 for fantasy managers this week against the one-win Texans.

  • Taylor Heinicke Expected To Remain The Starter?

Many around the league expect the Washington Commanders to stick with quarterback Taylor Heinicke as the starter after beating the previously undefeated Philadelphia Eagles on Monday night, at least for the short term. The team has a decision to make with Carson Wentz (finger) returning to health. Heinicke is 8-4 in his last 12 starts, including 3-1 this year. Young players have gravitated toward him because of his fiery personality and no-fear attitude, and head coach Ron Rivera knows about the locker-room support for Heinicke. But the team also values Wentz's skills and toughness. He's healing as scheduled and could be ready as soon as Week 11 against the Houston Texans. It would be a surprise if Heinicke didn't get another start this weekend, even if Wentz is fully healthy.

  • Eagles D Forces Two Turnovers Commanders

The Philadelphia Eagles defense forced two fumbles, one of which they recovered, generated three sacks, and picked off quarterback Taylor Heinicke in their 32-31 loss on Monday night. After getting gashed on the ground last week by Houston, they gave 152 yards in this one. They also allowed 32 points, the most since Week 1 against the Lions. For fantasy football, the turnovers and sacks helped boost their score, but managers will be disappointed with the outcome. They take on the Colts next week, keeping them in play as a top option.

  • Taylor Heinicke Leads Washington To Upset Win

Washington Commanders quarterback Taylor Heinicke completed 17-of-29 passes for 211 yards and an interception along with five carries for 10 yards and a lost fumble during Monday's win over the Philadelphia Eagles. Things did not start off great for the 29-year-old in this one as he fumbled on their first drive, which set up the Eagles for their first score of the day. However, he managed to stay level-headed as he made all the right plays while leading sustained offensive drives that kept Philadelphia's threatening offense off the field. Heinicke did not impress statistically, but this performance certainly has to have head coach Ron Rivera considering him for the starting job for the rest of the season. If Heinicke is to remain the starter over Carson Wentz, then he should be considered a solid QB2 for fantasy managers.

  • Taylor Heinicke Facing Tough Matchup In Week 10

Washington Commanders quarterback Taylor Heinicke is facing one of the tougher matchups for quarterbacks this week. The Commanders are taking on the undefeated Philadelphia Eagles in Week 10, a defense that is currently allowing the second-fewest fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks this season. With the 29-year-old struggling to put up points in Week 9 against the Minnesota Vikings, his outlook isn't looking great against a much better defensive unit. With this matchup, Heinicke is a low-end QB2 and shouldn't be considered a starting option.

  • Taylor Heinicke Mediocre In Week 9

Washington Commanders quarterback Taylor Heinicke completed 15-of-28 passes for 149 yards with two touchdowns, one interception, and four carries for 17 yards in Sunday's loss to the Minnesota Vikings. The Commanders had themselves a tough loss in Week 9. They held a 10-point lead early in the fourth quarter, only to squander it while losing on a last-minute field goal. Heinicke wasn't a huge help in their efforts. After a couple of solid starts, the 29-year-old had his moments, but his play is inconsistent. With these performances being a possibility, Heinicke is still no more than a QB2 in Superflex formats.

  • Taylor Heinicke A Solid Streaming Option In Week 9

Washington Commanders quarterback Taylor Heinicke could be a decent streaming option in Week 9. The 29-year-old has been on a decent stretch since former starter Carson Wentz's injury. In his two appearances as Washington's starting quarterback, Heinicke has put up QB7 numbers with 19.25 fantasy points per game. The Commanders are taking on the Minnesota Vikings this week, a defense that has allowed the fifth most fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks over the past four weeks. With this matchup, Heinicke could be a solid streaming quarterback this week.

  • Taylor Heinicke Scores Game-Winning Touchdown In Week 8

Washington Commanders quarterback Taylor Heinicke completed 23-of-31 passes for 279 yards with one touchdown and one interception, along with six carries for 29 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's win over the Indianapolis Colts. The 29-year-old had himself a solid performance that ended with him leading a late-game drive, and running in the one-yard touchdown that would seal the win for the Commanders. Heinicke leading this offense looks considerably better than when quarterback Carson Wentz was starting. It wouldn't be surprising to see a changing of the guard at that position, even when Wentz returns from injury. As long as he's starting, Heinicke holds value as a solid QB2.

  • Taylor Heinicke A Low-End QB2 In Week 8

Washington Commanders quarterback Taylor Heinicke will be taking on the Indianapolis Colts for his second start of the season in Week 8. Heinicke had a decent performance in Week 7 and could be in line to have a similar outing this week. The Colts are top-10 at allowing fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks during the 2022 season, so this is a less-than-favorable matchup for the 29-year-old. However, his matchup against the Green Bay Packers was just as tough and it resulted in a QB13 finish. Heinicke shouldn't be expected to produce world-beating numbers in Week 8, but he is a solid fill-in option for fantasy managers in Superflex leagues.

  • Taylor Heinicke Leads Commanders To Upset Win

Washington Commanders quarterback Taylor Heinicke completed 20-of-33 passes for 201 yards with two touchdowns and an interception in Sunday's win over the Green Bay Packers. The 29-year-old came into this matchup with fairly low expectations as the Packers were expected to take over this game. However, to the surprise of many, Heinicke and the rest of the team, took control in the second half to steal an upset win at home. Even with this surprising win, Heinicke should continue to only warrant starting consideration in Superflex formats as his ceiling isn't particularly high.

  • Taylor Heinicke A Solid QB2 In Week 7

Washington Commanders quarterback Taylor Heinicke will be making his first start of the season in Week 7 against the Green Bay Packers. The backup quarterback has been thrust into the starting role in place of Carson Wentz due to a finger injury he suffered in Week 6. While starting Heinicke in fantasy is less than ideal, there is a solid chance that he will outperform expectations. In 2021, the 29-year-old ended the season as the overall QB20 with a few splash performances sprinkled in. His familiarity with Washington's playstyle due to last year's experience could make him a decent option for Superflex leagues. For those in need of a quarterback, Heinicke could be a solid fill-in this week.

  • Taylor Heinicke To Start Against Packers

Washington Commanders head coach Ron Rivera said that quarterback Taylor Heinicke will start in Week 7 against the Green Bay Packers, with rookie Sam Howell serving as his backup. Carson Wentz (finger) needed surgery on a fractured ring finger on his right hand and will be out for the next four to six weeks, so Heinicke will now be in play as a low-end QB2 option for fantasy managers in superflex leagues for the next month or so. The 29-year-old played in 16 games (15 starts) for the Commanders last year and completed 65 percent of his 494 pass attempts for 3,419 yards, 20 touchdowns and 15 interceptions. Heinicke had some impressive moments but also plenty of inconsistency. Fantasy managers should expect much of the same.
