  • Raheem Mostert's Season Likely Over

San Francisco 49ers running back Raheem Mostert's (ankle) season is likely over after he suffered another high-ankle sprain in the Week 15 loss to the Cowboys, according to a source. Mostert ran the ball 14 times for 68 yards against Dallas but was unable to find the end zone. Jeff Wilson Jr. totaled 60 yards and a touchdown and will have considerably more fantasy upside with Mostert out of the picture over the final two regular season games. Mostert was on Injured Reserve earlier this year due to a high-ankle sprain, so fantasy managers shouldn't expect to have him the rest of the way. Wilson will be a strong RB2 choice against Arizona on Saturday, while Tevin Coleman and Jerick McKinnon will fight for touches behind him. Add Wilson immediately if he still happens to be on the waiver wire in your league. Update: Mostert will be placed on Injured Reserve and will finish the 2020 season with 677 total yards and three touchdowns on 120 touches over eight games played.

  • Raheem Mostert Gains 68 Yards Before Injury

San Francisco 49ers running back Raheem Mostert (ankle) re-injured the same ankle that's been ailing him the past few weeks in Week 15 against the Dallas Cowboys. He didn't return to the game after the injury. Mostert carried the ball 14 times for 68 yards in the game and didn't see any targets in the passing game. Jeff Wilson Jr. received a sturdy workload alongside Mostert and his workload increased when Mostert was sidelined. Wilson carried the ball 16 times this week and also had four targets in the passing game. If Mostert can get in some full practices this week, he'll be a candidate to start as an RB2 in Week 16 against the Arizona Cardinals, but he might be tough to trust due to his inability to stay on the field this year.

  • Raheem Mostert Injures Ankle, Unlikely To Return

San Francisco 49ers running back Raheem Mostert (ankle) re-injured the ankle that has been hampering him as of late and is unlikely to return to Sunday's game against the Dallas Cowboys. He had 14 carries for 68 yards before the injury. While he is out, Jeff Wilson Jr. will be the team's primary rusher with Tevin Coleman behind him. Mostert has only played a handful of complete games this year as it's been an injury-riddled season for the 49ers starting running back.

  • Raheem Mostert A Must-Start If Active In Week 15

San Francisco 49ers running back Raheem Mostert (ankle) has been disappointing over the past two weeks as the team has heavily worked Jeff Wilson Jr. into their game plan. Mostert saw 14 carries in Week 14 while Wilson had 11. Mostert is currently dealing with an ankle injury that has forced him to miss some practice time this week. He is currently questionable for Week 15 against the Dallas Cowboys. If he's able to suit up, he's a must-start RB2 or flex option. The Cowboys have the league's worst run defense, allowing 162.7 rushing yards per game. Mostert is a safe bet for double-digit carries if he's active and that alone should give him the opportunity to make several big plays with touchdown upside against the horrendous Cowboys rush defense.

  • Raheem Mostert Misses Practice Wednesday

San Francisco 49ers running back Raheem Mostert (ankle) did not take part in practice on Wednesday. It's not a good start to the week for a player that has already been on Injured Reserve this season. Mostert will need to at least get in a limited practice on Thursday or Friday in order to have a realistic shot of playing in Week 15 against a porous Cowboys Defense. If the 28-year-old cannot play this Sunday, Jeff Wilson Jr. would be the biggest backfield beneficiary in San Francisco and would have RB2 upside against a Dallas D that has given up the sixth-most fantasy points per game to running backs. Jerick McKinnon and Tevin Coleman would also see increased usage in change-of-pace roles, but they'd both be desperation flex plays in standard leagues.

  • Raheem Mostert Rushes For 65 Yards In Week 14

San Francisco 49ers running back Raheem Mostert rushed the ball 14 times for 65 yards in Week 14 against the Washington Football Team. He also caught two of his four targets for five yards. Mostert missed a chunk of the game while going through concussion protocol after an injury. So while it was a disappointing final line for Mostert, it was still encouraging overall that he led the team in carries despite missing time. Jeff Wilson Jr. was the team's No. 2 back in the game and he rushed 11 times and scored the team's only touchdown. Mostert is the team's clear No. 1 back going forward and should be considered a low-end RB2 or high-end flex the rest of the way.

  • Raheem Mostert Cleared To Return

Updating a previous report, San Francisco 49ers running back Raheem Mostert has been evaluated for a head injury and was cleared to return to Sunday's game against the Washington Football Team. Mostert has six carries already and should operate as the lead back once he's back in, though Jeff Wilson Jr. has a touchdown already and should continue to siphon off some work.

  • Raheem Mostert Heading To Locker Room

San Francisco 49ers running back Raheem Mostert has gone to the locker room with an apparent injury. It's unclear at this time what the issue is with Mostert, who had six carries for 35 yards when he exited. If he's unable to return, expect Jeff Wilson Jr. is lead this backfield for the remainder of the game.

  • Start Raheem Mostert As A Flex In Week 14

San Francisco 49ers running back Raheem Mostert saw only nine carries in Week 13, which was the smallest workload he's received in any game he's completed this year. Jeff Wilson Jr., meanwhile, received seven carries in the game and was slightly more effective than Mostert. There's a chance Mostert cedes a good amount of work to Wilson against the Washington Football Team this week as well, but it's hard to know for sure. Head coach Kyle Shanahan may just be planning to base his gameplan on what he sees from each rusher when the game gets going. Mostert is averaging 5.1 yards per carry and 10.8 yards per reception on the year. Even if he only sees around 12 total touches, he should still be able to do enough with them to warrant a flex start.

  • Raheem Mostert Rushes For Just 42 Yards In Week 13

San Francisco 49ers running back Raheem Mostert only saw nine carries in the team's Week 13 loss to the Buffalo Bills. He performed adequately with the workload, gaining 42 yards, which was good for 4.7 yards per carry. However, Jeff Wilson Jr. received a nearly equal workload and out-performed Mostert, carrying the ball seven times for 47 yards, averaging 6.7 yards per carry. Wilson also had five targets in the passing game, while Mostert only had one, which he reeled in for a one-yard reception. 49ers quarterback Nick Mullens threw the ball 39 times in this game as the 49ers tried to keep pace with the Bills, but it was still surprising to see the team not lean on Mostert more. Hopefully he'll see a heavier workload in the team's Week 14 matchup against the Washington Football Team.

  • Raheem Mostert Is A High-End RB2 In Week 13

San Francisco 49ers running back Raheem Mostert received 16 carries and two targets in his return to action in Week 12. His output was a bit underwhelming as he averaged just 2.7 yards per carry and lost a fumble, but it was a tough matchup against the Los Angeles Rams. He at least managed to save his day by scoring a touchdown. This week, Mostert has a better matchup against a Buffalo Bills Defense that is allowing 129.6 rushing yards per game. Mostert should see somewhere between 15 and 20 touches in the game, giving him a good chance to compile around 100 total yards or more with a score. Start him as a high-end RB2 in Week 13.

  • Raheem Mostert Scores In His Return To Action

San Francisco 49ers running back Raheem Mostert made his return to the field in Week 12 against the Los Angeles Rams. It was his first game back since suffering a knee injury in Week 6. Mostert was the team's primary ball-carrier in the game. He carried the ball 16 times for 43 yards and a touchdown. He also lost a fumble in the game and wasn't able to do much in the passing game, catching both of his targets for zero yards. Jeff Wilson Jr. was slightly more efficient in the game than Mostert, gaining 43 yards on 12 carries, but he also lost a fumble. It was a tough matchup for the 49ers against a stingy Rams Defense. Mostert should be a low-end RB1 most weeks going forward as long as he stays healthy.

  • Raheem Mostert, Jeff Wilson Jr. Questionable For Week 12

San Francisco 49ers running backs Raheem Mostert (ankle) and Jeff Wilson Jr. (ankle) and cornerback Richard Sherman (calf) will be activated from Injured Reserve on Saturday and will be questionable for Week 12 against the Rams. Mostert has been out since Week 6 but could be inserted back into the lead-back role, albeit in a crowded backfield, if he's active on Sunday. He will certainly be a nice addition to fantasy lineups that are trying to make a postseason run, but Mostert will be a somewhat shaky RB3/flex if he's eased back into the fold in a crowded backfield against a Rams Defense allowing the fourth-fewest fantasy points to RBs in 2020. Wilson has been out since Week 7 but was effective when asked to step up for San Fran. Mostert will be the most attractive fantasy back on the Niners if he plays, but this backfield will still be a headache for fantasy managers in Week 12.

  • Raheem Mostert A Strong RB2 If Active In Week 12

It appears likely that San Francisco 49ers running back Raheem Mostert (knee) will make his return to action in Week 12 against the Los Angeles Rams. Mostert suffered a knee injury in Week 6 and was placed on Injured Reserve shortly after. While he's been out, the team has struggled to find consistent production in their running game. If Mostert is indeed activated prior to this week's game, he should see a heavy workload right out of the gate. The Rams have a tough defense, allowing just 91.3 rushing yards per game, but 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan should be able to put together a game plan that will allow Mostert to have success regardless. Start Mostert as a high-end RB2 this week.

  • Raheem Mostert, Jeff Wilson Jr. Return From Injured Reserve

San Francisco 49ers running backs Raheem Mostert (ankle) and Jeff Wilson Jr. (ankle) were both designated to return from Injured Reserve on Tuesday, making it possible that either could take the field Sunday against the Rams. Mostert has served as San Francisco's lead back when healthy this season, having amassed 65 yards on 17 carries against Los Angeles back in Week 6, the last time that he took the field. Upon getting the green light to return to action, he should be rostered with confidence all season-long leagues. Wilson's status is a bit more shaky, as his fantasy intrigue is directly related to the health of the rest of the 49ers backfield. Tevin Coleman (knee), Mostert and Jerick McKinnonall figure to be ahead of Wilson on the depth chart when healthy, thereby limiting his touches once he's officially back in the mix.

  • Raheem Mostert, Deebo Samuel On Track For Week 12 Return

San Francisco 49ers running back Raheem Mostert (ankle) and wide receiver Deebo Samuel (hamstring) are expected to return to the field for the team's Week 12 matchup against the Rams, per head coach Kyle Shanahan. While Mostert had already been confirmed out for Sunday's outing versus New Orleans, the inclusion of Samuel to this group likely means that he'll miss said contest as well. With the 49ers having a bye during Week 11, it'll give both players additional time to heal. With Mostert unavailable in the backfield, Tevin Coleman and Jerick McKinnon are likely to share ball carrying duties, although JaMycal Hasty also looms as an option. The trio of Brandon Aiyuk, Richie James, and Trent Taylor all stand to benefit from Samuel's absence against the Saints, as they are the only three WR's on the active roster who don't carry an injury designation.

  • Raheem Mostert Ruled Out For Week 10

San Francisco 49ers running back Raheem Mostert (ankle) was hoping to return in Week 10 against the Saints, but head coach Kyle Shanahan has already ruled the running back out for this weekend. The Niners have a bye in Week 11, so there's a much better chance that Mostert will resurface in Week 12 against the division-rival Rams. Tevin Coleman (knee) is also likely to miss another game this weekend, so it should once again be Jerick McKinnon and rookie JaMycal Hasty sharing backfield touches against New Orleans. Mostert needs to remain stashed in all formats, as he should be the leading ball-carrier when he's fully healthy. McKinnon and Hasty have shared lead-back duties each of the last two weeks, with neither running back particularly standing out for fantasy purposes. They'll both be boom/bust RB3/flex options in PPR leagues.

  • Deebo Samuel, Raheem Mostert Could Return In Week 10

San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan said that wide receiver Deebo Samuel (hamstring) and running back Raheem Mostert (ankle) "have a chance" to return in Week 10 against the Saints. Samuel has been out the last two games and also had a short stint on the COVID-19 list, but he'll have WR2 upside next week if he can return to an offense also missing tight end George Kittle (foot) for potentially the rest of the season. Mostert has been out since Week 6, but he should return to lead-back duties when he's ready. If he's for some reason on your league's waiver wire, he needs to be scooped up immediately. The Niners backfield has lacked extra burst with Jerick McKinnon and rookie JaMycal Hasty splitting touches.
