  • DeVante Parker Logs Limited Practice On Thursday

    Headshot for DeVante Parker

New England Patriots wide receiver DeVante Parker (knee) remained limited in practice Thursday, per Evan Lazar of the team's official site. The 30-year-old is likely having his reps managed after his 2023 debut was delayed until Week 2 due to a knee injury. Parker looked no worse for wear in that one, tallying six receptions on eight targets for 57 yards as an every-down player. The veteran wideout is likely to be fine for Week 3's divisional tilt against the New York Jets, and might already be pushing JuJu Smith-Schuster for quarterback Mac Jones' attention. Even assuming Parker gets the green light for Sunday, he may not be an exciting fantasy play in what could be a slow-paced defensive slog.

  • DeVante Parker Limited In Wednesday's Practice

    Headshot for DeVante Parker

New England Patriots wide receiver DeVante Parker (knee) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice. Parker has dealt with this knee issue for quite some time now, which caused him to miss Week 1. However, the veteran returned in Week 2 against the Miami Dolphins and played 100% of the team snaps. He caught six passes for 57 yards on eight targets in his season debut. With Parker practicing in a limited fashion this early in the week, he should be a full-go in Week 3 when the Patriots play the New York Jets. The 30-year-old wideout will have two more chances to practice in full before Sunday.

  • DeVante Parker Catches Six Passes Against Former Team

    Headshot for DeVante Parker

New England Patriots wide receiver DeVante Parker turned eight targets into six catches for 57 yards against his old team, the Miami Dolphins, in Week 2. The veteran led the Patriots in catches and receiving yards while finishing second in targets (behind Kendrick Bourne's nine). Sunday marked Parker's season debut after he missed Week 1 with a knee injury. It was promising to see him play such a large role in the offense in his first game back, and it's reasonable to expect that his high involvement will continue going forward, especially amidst reports doubting the Patriots' faith in JuJu Smith-Schuster. Parker is an appealing waiver wire option in most fantasy leagues, though it'll be tough to justify starting him against the Jets in Week 3.

  • DeVante Parker Listed As Questionable For SNF

    Headshot for DeVante Parker

New England Patriots wide receiver DeVante Parker (knee) is questionable for Sunday's Week 2 contest against the Miami Dolphins, according to Mike Reiss of ESPN. Parker did practice all week, in a limited capacity, so he hasn't been ruled out. However, it should be noted, that the veteran receiver missed the Patriots' Week 1 contest despite participating in practice--in a limited capacity--leading up to the game as well. This is shaping up to be a game-time decision and it's probably a scenario that fantasy managers, outside of the very deepest of leagues, will want to avoid. If Parker does end up playing, he's a low-end WR4 or FLEX flyer.

  • DeVante Parker Gets In A Limited Practice On Wednesday

    Headshot for DeVante Parker

New England Patriots wide receiver DeVante Parker (knee) was limited in Wednesday's practice, per beat writer Mike Reiss. The veteran wideout was limited throughout last week as well and ended up being inactive for Sunday's game against the Eagles. He's got a few more days to get in a full practice, which would significantly increase his chances of suiting up on Sunday against his former team, the Miami Dolphins. Parker should be ranked as a low-end WR3/high-end WR4 if he ends up playing on Sunday, which projects to be one of the higher-scoring games (O/U 46.5) of the week.

  • Rhamondre Stevenson Active, DeVante Parker Inactive Sunday

    Headshot for DeVante Parker

New England Patriots running back Rhamondre Stevenson (illness) is officially active for Week 1 versus the Philadelphia Eagles. He had been listed as questionable but was widely expected to play after recovering from a stomach bug. On the other hand, wide receiver DeVante Parker (knee) is inactive. In his absence, Kendrick Bourne should earn more snaps alongside No. 1 receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster. Stevenson is worth deploying as a fantasy RB2 while Smith-Schuster is a low-end WR3.

  • DeVante Parker Expected To Miss Week 1

    Headshot for DeVante Parker

New England Patriots wide receiver DeVante Parker (knee) isn't anticipated to suit up for the regular-season opener versus the Eagles. The 30-year-old wideout has battled a knee injury and has held a questionable tag heading into this one. However, it appears fantasy managers will now be awaiting an update regarding Parker's availability for Week 2 against the Dolphins, his former team. Nevertheless, JuJu Smith-Schuster may be the only reliable pass-catcher on the Patriots' roster on Sunday, although Kendrick Bourne could see a slight uptick in attention from Mac Jones against a potent Eagles defense.

  • Rhamondre Stevenson, DeVante Parker Questionable For Week 1

    Headshot for DeVante Parker

New England Patriots running back Rhamondre Stevenson (illness) and wide receiver DeVante Parker (knee) are officially listed as questionable for Sunday's season opener against the Philadelphia Eagles. Stevenson popped up on the injury report Friday after missing practice with a stomach bug and is expected to play Sunday, though it makes sense that the Patriots would list him as questionable just in case he can't get healthy in time. If active, he's a solid RB2 for fantasy purposes. Parker, meanwhile, was a limited participant and could be more of a true game-time decision on Sunday afternoon. If he can't suit up, Kendrick Bourne, Demario Douglas, and Kayshon Boutte could see more snaps alongside JuJu Smith-Schuster.

  • DeVante Parker Puts In A Limited Practice

    Headshot for DeVante Parker

New England Patriots wide receiver DeVante Parker (knee) was listed as a limited practice participant on the team's first official injury report of the 2023 regular season on Wednesday. Parker has been dealing with a knee injury, but it doesn't seem very serious, so as long as he doesn't suffer a setback this week, he should be fine to suit up in the Week 1 regular season opener this Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles. The 30-year-old former first-rounder caught 31 of his 47 targets for 539 yards and three touchdowns in 13 games (11 starts) in his first year in New England last year. Parker and the rest of the offense could improve under new offensive coordinator Bill O'Brien in 2023, though, although fantasy managers should want to see it first to believe it.

  • DeVante Parker Returns To Practice Monday

    Headshot for DeVante Parker

New England Patriots wide receiver DeVante Parker (undisclosed), who was not spotted in the team's last two media-access portions of practice, was on the field on Monday. It doesn't sound like Parker's injury is very serious at all, and there's a good chance he won't even be listed on the team's first injury report of the year on Wednesday as they head into Week 1 against the Philadelphia Eagles. It seems likely that the 30-year-old will play this weekend. The former first-rounder in 2015 by the Miami Dolphins out of Louisville has just one 1,000-yard season (back in 2019) and caught 31 passes for 539 yards and three touchdowns in 13 games (11 starts) in 2022 in his first year in New England. Parker likely went undrafted in most standard-sized fantasy leagues, but he could have more of a role this year in a Patriots offense that is expected to bounce back under new offensive coordinator Bill O'Brien.

  • Offseason In Review: New England Patriots

    Headshot for Kendrick Bourne

The 2022 season saw the Patriots fail to make the playoffs for the second time in the post-Tom Brady era. While the players deserve their fair share of blame for the team’s lack of success, New England’s struggles could mostly be attributed to the sideline. With Josh McDaniels having left for Las Vegas, Bill Belichick […]

  • DeVante Parker Could Surprise This Year

    Headshot for DeVante Parker

ESPN's Dan Graziano says not to be surprised if New England Patriots wide receiver DeVante Parker has a big year in 2023. The former first-rounder by the Miami Dolphins in 2015 had an outstanding training camp as the team's top receiver and could put up some big numbers in offensive coordinator Bill O'Brien's scheme. In just one of Parker's previous eight seasons has he managed to stay healthy over the course of a full season, though. Little seems to be expected of New England's offense after they imploded in 2022, so Parker could be a late-round sleeper that hits if he can stay on the field. The 30-year-old averaged 17.4 yards per catch with the Pats last year. Parker has the size to do damage, but he's going to need more volume this year to pan out.

  • Rookie Demario Douglas Impressing In Patriots Camp

    Headshot for Kayshon Boutte

New England Patriots rookie wide receiver Demario Douglas has been an unexpected star for the Patriots in training camp. The diminutive slot receiver was the second of two wide receivers selected by New England in the sixth round of April's draft, behind Kayshon Boutte. The 5-foot-8 receiver out of Liberty has been seen on social media dusting defenders in one-on-one drills. He's also been earning some reps out of the slot with the starters. In his final season at Liberty, Douglas finished with 84 touches for 1,098 and seven touchdowns. JuJu Smith-Schuster and DeVante Parker are presumptive starters for New England, but the third receiver role is seemingly wide open. Douglas is a bonafide taxi squad candidate for dynasty managers and worth a look in deep redraft leagues.

  • DeVante Parker's Extension Carries Low Base Value

    Headshot for DeVante Parker

When the specifics of New England Patriots wide receiver DeVante Parker's new three-year extension worth up to $33 million are ultimately revealed, the expectation from sources familiar with the general framework of the contract is that the base value of the deal is considerably lower. There isn't a high total of guaranteed money, and more than half of the total value will be tied to playing-time incentives, performance incentives, All-Pro honors and per-game roster bonuses. It's often referred to as a "pay-as-he-produces" deal, which would be the primary motivation for the Pats to commit to Parker after a season in which he appeared in 13 games, totaled 51% playing time and recorded only 31 catches. The 30-year-old can provide a nice downfield threat a times, but injuries have held him back and he could be pushed even further down the WR depth chart if New England signs DeAndre Hopkins.
