Logan Thomas Doesn't Practice On Thursday

Washington Commanders tight end Logan Thomas (concussion) remained on the sideline for Thursday's practice session. Thomas is still in concussion protocol after taking a rough hit to the head during Sunday's victory over the Denver Broncos. There's still time, but Thomas is trending in the wrong direction ahead of Sunday's Week 3 matchup versus the Buffalo Bills. If he's unable to play, Cole Turner and John Bates would likely split up the reps at tight end. Neither of them are appealing streaming options for Sunday's contest.

Logan Thomas Not Practicing Wednesday

Washington Commanders tight end Logan Thomas (concussion) did not practice to start the week. It was expected that Thomas would sit out Wednesday's practice after suffering a concussion in the team's 35-33 victory over the Denver Broncos in Week 2. The veteran tight end left the contest in the second quarter following a hit to the head by Broncos safety Kareem Jackson on his touchdown grab. Thomas will need to clear the concussion protocol before returning to the field. He'll have two more chances to practice before Sunday's Week 3 game against the Buffalo Bills.

NFL Injury Updates: Burrow, Richardson, Barkley, Thomas

Bengals fans have been plenty frustrated with the team’s return on investment from quarterback Joe Burrow‘s record-breaking extension. Through two games, Burrow has averaged 152 yards per game while throwing two touchdowns and an interception. People were concerned about the calf injury that forced him out of practice early in training camp this summer and […]

Washington Commanders tight end Logan Thomas (head) won't return to Sunday's meeting with the Denver Broncos due to a concussion. The 32-year-old began the season by catching four of his eight targets for 43 yards in the Week 1 win over the Cardinals. Thomas looked on track for another efficient showing, as he had two catches for 22 yards and a touchdown in this one. But now, there's a chance he might not play in Week 3 versus the Buffalo Bills, which would be a tough blow for fantasy managers.

Logan Thomas - Week 2 Outlook for Fantasy Football

Coming off of a solid performance against the Arizona Cardinals, Washington Commanders tight end Logan Thomas is looking like a low-end play in Week 2. The Commanders are taking on the Denver Broncos, a team with a solid pass defense. The veteran should see some more decent usage like in Week 1, but their opponent is coming off a game where they allowed just one reception for 20 yards to Las Vegas Raiders tight end Austin Hooper. However, considering the bleak tight end landscape, Thomas could be a low-end option for desperate fantasy managers.

Logan Thomas Leads Washington In Targets

Washington Commanders tight end Logan Thomas caught four-of-eight targets for 43 yards in Sunday's win over the Arizona Cardinals. After not hearing much about the veteran tight end during the offseason, it was a surprise to see him come out as the most targeted weapon in this Washington offense. Unfortunately, Thomas was not immune to the offensive struggles as he dropped three passes from quarterback Sam Howell in the first half. However, based on this usage, it wouldn't be surprising to see him as an underrated contributor as this offense continues to gel.

Offseason In Review: Washington Commanders

The Commanders’ roster moves did not receive too much attention this offseason. Dan Snyder‘s prolonged exit overshadowed his former team’s football matters. The Snyder-to-Josh Harris transfer represents the most important storyline involving this franchise this century. Without the historically unpopular owner, the once-respected organization can begin to pick up the pieces. As the team does […]

Washington Commanders tight end Logan Thomas (calf) says he has no more restrictions and should be ready to play Week 1 against the Arizona Cardinals. The injury forced the veteran to miss a significant chunk of training camp and all three preseason games. The 32-year-old is past his prime but is still listed as the top tight end on Washington's depth chart. He tallied a combined 57 catches for 519 yards and four touchdowns in twenty games over the past two seasons.

Logan Thomas Working On Side Field Saturday

Washington Commanders tight end Logan Thomas (calf) is working on a side field with a trainer at training camp practice on Saturday and was seen doing some jogging. Thomas has yet to do much at camp this summer and hasn't played in a preseason game, either. It's all part of Washington's plan to ease the oft-injured tight end in to workouts. The Commanders still plan on using Thomas as their top pass-catching tight end in 2023, with John Bates and Cole Turner waiting in the wings for bigger roles if Thomas gets hurt again during the regular season. The 32-year-old's best season came in 2020, when he had 72 receptions for 670 yards and six touchdowns, but he's had a combined 57 catches for 519 yards and four TDs in two seasons since.

Commanders Being Cautious With Logan Thomas

Washington Commanders head coach Ron Rivera said on Monday that the team is using "caution" with tight end Logan Thomas (calf) in training camp due to his injury. Thomas has been held out of practice in camp for the last week, but the Commanders don't think it's a very serious injury. It makes sense for the Commanders to take things slow with the oft-injured tight end, but as long as he doesn't suffer any setbacks when he returns to the practice field, it sounds like Thomas won't be in danger of missing the start of the regular season. When healthy, Thomas is expected to be the team's top pass-catching tight end, but because of the injury risk, fantasy managers in standard-sized leagues are probably going to pass on him in upcoming drafts.

Logan Thomas Not Practicing Sunday

Washington Commanders tight end Logan Thomas (calf) is not practicing on Sunday at training camp. Thomas was unable to play in the team's preseason opener on Friday and has missed the last week of camp with his injury. He's expected to be the team's top pass-catching option at the position again in 2023, but the oft-injured 32-year-old just isn't very reliable. Thomas' best season came in 2020, when he caught 72 of his 110 targets for 670 yards and six touchdowns in 16 games (15 starts). He managed to play in 14 games last year, finishing with 39 receptions for just 323 yards and one score for Washington. Even if Thomas is healthy and ready to roll for Week 1 of the regular season, he's a low-end TE2 option in fantasy, at best.

Logan Thomas Unavailable For Preseason Opener

Washington Commanders tight end Logan Thomas (calf) is unavailable to play in the team's preseason opener on Friday night against the Cleveland Browns. It doesn't come as a surprise, as Thomas hasn't practiced in training camp in the last week due to a calf injury. It's possible the 32-year-old won't be available for the second preseason game, either. Thomas has struggled to stay on the field consistently in his career and has just 129 receptions on 196 targets for 1,189 yards and 10 touchdowns in his three seasons in D.C. He'll have a chance for a regular pass-catching role again in 2023, but Cole Turner and John Bates will also have their say. Given Thomas' injury risk, fantasy managers should be looking elsewhere.
