  • Jimmy Garoppolo Throws For 222 Yards In Win

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo completed 26-of-37 passes for 222 yards for a touchdown in the Niners' 13-0 home win over the New Orleans Saints in Week 12. He was sacked once for a one-yard loss. The 49ers moved the ball slowly, gaining 4.7 yards per play. Following his four-touchdown game last week, the 31-year-old in the final year of his contract fell back down to earth. He is the QB22 at the end of the Sunday afternoon games. He will try to return to QB1 territory in Week 13 when the 49ers host the Miami Dolphins.

  • Jimmy Garoppolo A Viable Start In Superflex Leagues

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo follows up his four-touchdown MNF game with a more difficult matchup against the New Orleans Saints. The Saints have allowed the eighth-fewest passing yards per game this season and the fourth-fewest in the past three games. The completion percentage and yards per attempt figures their defense allows are also amongst the tenth-lowest. Jimmy G, however, has had solid QB2 production regardless of matchup, particularly with the dynamic weapons he has to work with. He is a set-it-and-forget-it QB2 in superflex leagues. However, you are most-likely going to want to bench him in single QB leagues.

  • Jimmy Garoppolo Tosses Four Touchdown Passes In Win

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo completed 20-of-29 passes for 228 yards and four touchdowns in the Niners' 38-10 win over the Arizona Cardinals. In the second quarter, the 31-year-old led two straight scoring drives to put the Niners in front 14-3, and they never looked back. San Francisco shut out Arizona 21-0 in the second half as Jimmy G threw touchdown passes to George Kittle and Brandon Aiyuk, and Deebo Samuel broke off a touchdown run. With his best performance of the season, Garoppolo finishes Week 11 as the QB5. It was his fourth top 12 finish of the season.

  • Jimmy Garoppolo A Solid QB2 In Week 11

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo has a positive matchup against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 11. The Cardinals are allowing the third-highest completion percentage and the tenth-most yards per game to opposing teams. They are the sixth-most favorable matchup for fantasy QBs. Jimmy G will have a chance to put up numbers against a team that often gets into shootouts. Since the addition of RB Christian McCaffrey, the 49ers have had one of the best offenses. They have averaged the fourth-most total yards in the past three games and the fifth-most passing yards. Garoppolo has finished as a QB1 in once and a QB2 twice in that span. While he has gained a lot of yards through the air, he has not thrown many touchdown passes. He was blanked last week. Garoppolo is a quality QB2 in superflex leagues, but he won't be a consistent QB1 until he can find the end zone regularly.

  • Jimmy Garoppolo Plays Well In Win

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo did his job during Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Chargers. The 31-year-old completed 19-of-28 passing attempts for 240 yards without a touchdown or interception in the win. The veteran signal-caller played it safe and didn't take many risks in this contest. A majority of his passing targets went to Brandon Aiyuk, Jauan Jennings, and Christian McCaffrey. It seems that Garoppolo had a good gameplan and did well enough to pull off the win. He should continue to be a fine option against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 11.

  • Jimmy Garoppolo A QB1 In Week 10

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo will come off of his bye week to face off against the Los Angeles Chargers at home in Week 10. Garoppolo has played well in 2022, throwing exactly two touchdown passes in each of his past four contests. The Chargers have been solid against opposing quarterbacks in 2022, allowing the 21st-most fantasy points per game to the position. That being said, Los Angeles has a quality offense that should be able to keep the pressure on the 49ers to throw the ball often in Week 10. Treat Garoppolo as a top-10 quarterback in fantasy heading into Week 10.

  • Jimmy Garoppolo Completes 84% Of His Passes In 49ers Win

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo completed 21-of-25 passes for 235 yards and two touchdowns in the Niners' 31-14 throttling of the Rams. He also ran the ball once for three yards. The 30-year-old looked calm and composed. In his first game with Christian McCaffrey playing a full-time roll, Jimmy G utilized his new weapon, throwing the ball McCaffrey's way nine times, resulting in eight completions for 55 yards and a score. He also targeted Aiyuk five times and hit TE Ross Dwelley with a 56-yard bomb. Garoppolo is sitting at the QB12 position at the conclusion of Sunday games. He's the QB7 in leagues that use Scott Fish Bowl scoring, which rewards QBs for completing a high percentage of pass attempts.

  • Jimmy Garoppolo Pulled Late In Blowout Loss

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo completed 25-of-37 passing attempts for 303 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception. He also scrambled twice for two yards, was sacked five times, including once for a safety, and lost a fumble. His fantasy stat line looked better than his play. He threw an ugly interception off his back foot inside the Chiefs' ten-yard-line while trying to score at the end of the first half. Despite strong play from Christian McCaffrey in his 49ers debut, the team couldn't get anything going out of the half, scoring 3 points in the third quarter. Garoppolo was pulled late in the fourth when the game was out of hand.

  • Nick Bosa, Trent Williams Off The Injury Report

San Francisco 49ers defensive end Nick Bosa (groin) isn't listed on the team's latest injury report heading into the Week 7 matchup versus the Chiefs, meaning he will suit up. The 24-year-old didn't play in the Niners' previous game against the Atlanta Falcons, a tough blow for IDP managers, especially considering he's already amassed six sacks this season. San Fran will also get offensive tackle Trent Williams (ankle) back after he missed three games because of a high-ankle sprain, which is certainly good news for Jimmy Garoppolo.

  • Jimmy Garoppolo Possible QB1 in Week 7

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo has a home game against the spotty Kansas City Chiefs pass defense in Week 7. The Chiefs are allowing the sixth-most passing yards per game and have only made a single interception. Jimmy Garoppolo has finished as a top 12 fantasy quarterback the past two weeks, and he has a good chance to do so again. The 49ers trade for RB Christian McCaffrey gives Garoppolo another playmaker to target, though McCaffrey's usage is unclear given the trade was completed just three days before game day. Even before the trade, it looked like this would be a plus matchup for Jimmy G. He projects as a strong QB2 and a low-end QB1.

  • Trent Williams Thinks He'll Play In Week 7

San Francisco 49ers All-Pro left tackle Trent Williams (ankle) thinks he will play in Week 7 against the Kansas City Chiefs. Williams has returned to practice this week after suffering a high-ankle sprain in Week 3. The 34-year-old veteran is trending in the right direction, but he's still not a lock to return this Sunday to protect quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo's blind side against the Chiefs. If Williams returns this weekend, it will be great news for the Niners offense as a whole, especially for Garoppolo as they look to rebound from a loss last week to the Atlanta Falcons.

  • Jimmy Garoppolo Throws For 296 Yards In Loss

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo completed 29-out-of-41 passes for 296 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions in the Niners' 14-28 loss to the Atlanta Falcons. The 30-year-old added 11 rushing yards on three carries, two of which went for first downs. Garoppolo threw many short passes, but the Niners didn't end up summoning the huge plays to Deebo Samuel they often produce. While he did not help the 49ers win, Garoppolo's showing was pretty good from a fantasy perspective. He finishes as the No. 6 QB of the Sunday daytime games.

  • Jimmy Garoppolo Could Be Top-12 QB In Week 6

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo faces the Atlanta Falcons in Week 6, which looks like a favorable matchup for the 31-year-old signal caller. Atlanta's defense ranks No. 28 in completion percentage allowed, No. 23 in yards per pass, and No. 29 in passing yards per game. Garoppolo is coming off a 253-yard, two-TD performance against Carolina in which he finished Week 5 as the overall QB8. He has thrown five touchdowns to just one interception this year. Garoppolo usually finishes as a QB2, but this week he could even repeat as a QB1.

  • Jimmy Garoppolo Throws Two TD Passes

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo completed 18-of-30 passes for 253 yards and two touchdowns in the Niners' 37-15 victory over the Carolina Panthers. Garoppolo hit multiple passes of over fifteen yards to produce a relatively high yards-per-completion figure. The 49ers offense ran the ball well, opening up the pass, while their defense shut down the Panthers. Games like this are good for Jimmy G the game manager and result in many top 24 QB finishes. This week, he is likely to end up in the top 12 QBs.

  • Jimmy Garoppolo Capable QB2 In Week 5

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, who is averaging 225 yards per game in his two starts, faces a middle-of-the-pack Carolina Panthers defense in Week 5. The Panthers rank No. 12 in limiting opposing teams' passing yards and No. 13 in completion percentage, but they are only No. 30 in sacks. Garoppolo has completed just 61% of his passes this season, his lowest completion percentage in four years. While his play against the Rams last week left much to be desired, he did look better than he did in his first start against the Broncos. In Week 5, Garoppolo projects as a low-end QB2 in superflex leagues.

  • Colton McKivitz Dealing With Sprained MCL

San Francisco 49ers offensive tackle Colton McKivitz (knee) suffered a sprained MCL in Monday night's win over the Los Angeles Rams. McKivitz had been filling in for Pro Bowl left tackle Trent Williams, who has a high-ankle sprain. Head coach Kyle Shanahan told reporters that McKivitz is going to be "out a while" following the injury. The 49ers are now down to their third left tackle of the season, Jaylon Moore, who will be asked to cover quarterabck Jimmy Garoppolo's blind side, starting in Week 5 against the Carolina Panthers.

  • Jimmy Garoppolo Looks Better Week 4

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo completed 16-of-27 pass attempts for 239 yards and a touchdown in the Niners' 24-9 victory over the Los Angeles Rams on Monday Night Football. The 30-year-old deserves credit for putting the 49ers playmakers in position to win the game. He benefited greatly from the big play ability of WR Deebo Samuel who took a short pass 57 yards for a touchdown in the second quarter. Overall, Garoppolo looked more comfortable, and his passes were more on target, than in his Week 3 loss. He finished as the QB22, making him a low-end QB2.

  • Colton McKivitz Ruled Out Monday Night

San Francisco 49ers left tackle Colton McKivitz (knee), who was filling in for All-Pro Trent Williams (ankle), is out for the rest of the Monday night game against the Los Angeles Rams with a knee injury. Jaylon Moore is now filling in, with Blake Hance on deck. When Moore was forced to enter last Sunday's game against the Denver Broncos, the Broncos defense destroyed the Niners' offensive line and came after quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo. San Francisco might have to devote some more help to Moore on Garoppolo's blind side for the rest of this Week 4 game to avoid something similar happening against the Rams strong defense.

  • Jimmy Garoppolo Has Good Chance To Finish As Top 24 QB

In Week 4, San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo will seek redemption for his embarrassing debut, in which he finished as the QB28. He will have a tough go of it against the Los Angeles Rams defense. But he might be better positioned for success this week than he was last week. First, he has had more time to review the playbook and practice with his receivers. Second, this is a home game against a team he has beaten many times. Jimmy G has a 6-0 record in regular season games against the Rams and a 9-7 TD-INT ratio, and he averages 258.2 passing yards. Last season, he finished as the QB13 and the QB20 against the Rams. The Rams allowed a QB2 finish to Josh Allen in Week 1, a QB18 finish to Marcus Mariota in Week 2, and a QB22 finish to Kyler Murray in Week 3. You can start Garoppolo as your QB2 in superflex, not with confidence, but with the knowledge that there is a good argument for him to finish at the low-end of the top 24 QBs.

  • Trent Williams Could Miss 4-6 Weeks

San Francisco 49ers All-Pro left tackle Trent Williams (ankle) suffered a high-ankle sprain in the Week 3 loss to the Denver Broncos on Sunday night and will be out "some time," according to head coach Kyle Shanahan. The head coach said it could be four to six weeks, but the team won't know for sure until the swelling goes down in his ankle. The 34-year-old's injury is a huge blow for San Fran's offensive line and their offense as a whole, as Denver's D wrecked the game for the Niners late in the second half once Williams departed the contest. Colton McKivitz is expected to get the start in Week 4 against the division-rival Los Angeles Rams, and quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo could see a ton of pressure in that one.

  • Trent Williams Likely Dealing With High-Ankle Sprain

San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan said that All-Pro left tackle Trent Williams (ankle) likely suffered a high-ankle sprain when he was injured in the second half of the team's 11-10 loss to the Denver Broncos on Sunday night. Williams refused to be taken off the field on a cart and limped off the field instead. If he indeed has a high-ankle sprain, he will miss some time as quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo's blind-side protector. Williams is regarded as the best left tackle in the NFL, and the Broncos defense smothered Garoppolo with pressure with the game on the line late in the fourth quarter with Williams out of the game. Jimmy G could be running for his life more often moving forward without Williams, starting in a Week 4 divisional matchup with the Super Bowl-champion Los Angeles Rams.

  • Jimmy Garoppolo Has Ugly Game In Week 3

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo completed 18-of-29 passes for 211 yards, one touchdown, and one interception in his first game returning to the starting lineup, an 11-10 loss to the Denver Broncos. In an ugly game, Garoppolo missed open receivers, threw a pick into triple coverage, and led his team to just one first down conversion on ten attempts. Backed up to his own goal-line, he threw what would have been a pick six, but he stepped out of bounds before releasing the ball, making it a self-safety instead. He finished outside the top 24 QBs in his first game back while playing against a tough defense. His next game is a home matchup with the Los Angeles Rams, also a tough defense and not a good fantasy matchup. But against lesser defenses, Garoppolo could be a reasonable streaming option in superflex leagues if he gets into a rhythm.

  • 49ers Remain Committed To Trey Lance

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Trey Lance (ankle) has a timetable of four to six months after he broke his fibula and tore the deltoid and sesamoid ligaments in his ankle. The expectation is that Lance won't return this season. However, the 49ers remain committed to Lance as the future of the team under center. At the moment, Jimmy Garoppolo will start under center and is a capable option for this offense. The upside is certainly there with Lance. Dynasty fantasy managers should ride this out because it could pay off in the end. However, fantasy managers in re-draft leagues can probably safely drop Lance for an active quarterback.

  • Jimmy Garoppolo A Safe Choice For Superflex QB

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo has his first start of 2022 against the stingy Denver Broncos defense on Sunday Night Football. The 30-year-old had to step in last week for the injured Trey Lance and went 13-of-21 passing for 154 yards and one touchdown against the Seattle Seahawks. The Broncos present a tougher challenge. While Seattle ranks as the No. 30 defense in PFF grades, Denver ranks eighth overall and boasts the fifth best pass rush and fifth best pass coverage. Neither Denver nor San Francisco have faced top tier competition yet, so Sunday Night will be a "prove it" game for both of them. Jimmy Garoppolo is a safe QB2 for superflex leagues who finished among the top 24 QBs in 14 out of the 15 games he started last season.

  • Fantasy Outlooks for Deebo Samuel, George Kittle, Brandon Aiyuk with Jimmy Garoppolo as the 49ers' Starting Quarterback?

Trey Lance fractured his ankle in his third start in the NFL against the Seattle Seahawks and will miss the remainder of the season after surgery Monday morning. This is a huge blow for Lance, his fantasy managers, and perhaps the ceiling of the 49ers offense. As always, we aren't here to simply gloss over the serious and disappointing injury, but as fantasy football enthusiasts, we must evaluate what the return of Jimmy Garoppolo as the 49ers' starting quarterback means for fantasy football. The fantasy impact of the injury obviously means Garoppolo is now on the fantasy radar as a streamer in favorable matchups, but what does the chance at QB mean for Deebo Samuel, George Kittle, Brandon Aiyuk, Jauan Jennings, and even the San Francisco rushing attack? We'll dive into it all below. How is Deebo Samuel Affected By Jimmy Garoppolo?Samuel's value and fantasy production could see a nice boost by the return of Garoppolo. While Lance was brought in to elevate the ceiling of the 49ers' offense and add a new dynamic, Jimmy G is the more accurate passer at this point in his career. While Lance was a project, we know what we're getting out of Garoppolo. Samuel should see more accurate targets, but more importantly, he could see more work in the backfield. With Lance out, the quarterback rushing attempts will go back to near the bottom of the league. Lance looked to be set up for a huge rushing season with a lot of attempts, especially near the goal line. Kyle Shanahan isn't going to use Garoppolo as a rusher, so Samuel might get back some of the precious red zone and goal-line rushing work. All in all, this is likely a positive development for Samuel.https://twitter.com/Coach_Yac/status/1571597264447242241 Fantasy Outlooks for Brandon Aiyuk, Jauan Jennings, and George KittleLike Samuel, these guys likely see a boost in target accuracy. The 49ers will likely pass at a higher rate now that the dual-threat weapon in Lance is unavailable. While Garoppolo takes a lot of heat for his decision-making and lack of upside, he's proven to be able to support several fantasy-relevant wide receivers. Expect Samuel to produce WR1 numbers and Aiyuk to produce boom weeks here and there moving forward. When George Kittle (groin) finally makes his season debut he should be considered a top-five option at tight end. Jauan Jennings likely won't be on the fantasy radar, but he's a decent deep league stash in case of an injury to one of the 49ers' pass-catchers. Fantasy Outlooks for 49ers' running backs.Elijah Mitchell (knee) will be out for some time, but Jeff Wilson Jr. and Tyrion Davis-Price will also likely benefit from the change at QB. Put simply, there is now one less rushing threat in the 49ers' offensive attack, so even though the RBs will share carries with Deebo Samuel, they'll see an uptick in usage. Each Niners' running back will have a chance to handle short-yardage and goal-line work, so any of them could be candidates to see a value boost. The 49ers' backfield has been tricky to navigate during the Shanahan era, but it became even trickier when the starting quarterback was a major threat to handle a ton of rushing work. Jimmy Garoppolo Fantasy OutlookGaroppolo will become a low-ceiling and low-floor quarterback in fantasy once again, but he's proven to have value as a streamer in favorable matchups. He won't be what we hoped Lance could be, but he's worth keeping an eye on with something to prove.Ultimately, everyone except Lance has a brighter outlook in wake of his injury. The overall offense won't reach its peak ceiling under Garoppolo, but the floor is far higher under the veteran signal-caller.

  • Jimmy Garoppolo Scores Two TDs After Trey Lance's Injury

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo completed 13-of-21 attempts for 154 yards and one touchdown after taking over for the injured Trey Lance in the 49ers' 27-7 trouncing of the Seattle Seahawks. The 30-year-old scored another touchdown on the ground and gained five rushing yards on four carries, mostly sneaking for conversions in short-yardage situations. The 49ers only threw a total of 24 passes the whole game, while running the ball 45 times, so Garoppolo was not able to accumulate much volume, and his average depth of target was just moderate. The Niners were leading by a wide margin the whole game, so they were in a run-heavy game script. It seems like coach Kyle Shanahan would prefer to rely on running the ball when it works. Garoppolo, who will remain the starting QB for the rest of the season, won't put up many 300 yards performances, but he should have some more multi-touchdown games and could make a reliable QB2 in superflex leagues.

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo (shoulder) practiced with the team on Thursday for the first time all summer. The Niners kept Garoppolo away from the team all summer because they were prepared to trade him all along and didn't want to create any distractions at training camp. Garoppolo was also rehabbing on his own from offseason shoulder surgery in March. The 30-year-old is returning on a restructured one-year deal to be Trey Lance's back, though, so he has rejoined the team as Week 1 of the regular season quickly approaches.
