  • Latavius Murray Falls Just Shy Of 100 Rushing Yards

Denver Broncos running back Latavius Murray took advantage of his new role as the unquestioned leader of the Broncos backfield in the 23-10 loss to the Carolina Panthers in Week 12 on Sunday, carrying the ball a team-high 13 times for a season-high 92 yards (7.1 yards per carry). He caught his only target in the passing game for a six-yard gain. Kendall Hinton, Marlon Mack and Montrell Washington combined for four carries behind Murray, so the 32-year-old should continue to see the lion's share of the backfield workload moving forward, albeit in the league's lowest-scoring offense. Murray should be considered a touchdown-dependent, low-upside RB2/3 heading into a Week 13 date with the Baltimore Ravens.

  • Latavius Murray To Operate As Lead Back In Week 12

Denver Broncos running back Latavius Murray (wrist) was removed from the Week 12 injury report on Friday and will play on Sunday against the Carolina Panthers, a defense that is allowing the sixth-most fantasy points to RBs per game in half-point PPR settings this year. The Broncos waived Melvin Gordon III and Chase Edmonds (ankle) is on Injured Reserve, so Murray should benefit as the unquestioned lead back for the Broncos this weekend. In his five games with Denver, Murray has 63 carries for 209 yards (3.3 yards per carry) and three touchdowns, adding 11 catches for 56 yards. The 32-year-old is slightly more attractive as an RB3/flex in fantasy lineups, but his lack of efficiency in one of the league's worst offenses shouldn't inspire much confidence, even in a good matchup.

  • Latavius Murray Limited Again In Practice Thursday

Denver Broncos running back Latavius Murray (wrist) was limited in practice on Thursday for the second straight day this week. Murray's status is worth watching heading into this weekend's game against the Carolina Panthers. If for some reason he's unable to play, the Broncos would be extremely thin in the backfield after releasing Melvin Gordon III earlier this week. Chase Edmonds (ankle) is on Injured Reserve. If he's active, Murray will be Denver's primary back and should be viewed as a low-end RB2 in Denver's anemic offense. With Gordon gone and Edmonds on the shelf, Marlon Mack is now the handcuff option for fantasy managers that have Murray rostered.

  • Latavius Murray A Low-End RB3/Flex Against Raiders

Denver Broncos running back Melvin Gordon III remains the team's "starter," but Latavius Murray continues to see his fair share of the backfield work. In his four games with Denver since Javonte Williams (knee) was lost for the season, Murray has seen 46 carries for 160 yards and two touchdowns, adding seven receptions on nine targets for 33 yards. In that same time frame, Gordon has seen 30 carries for 94 yards and a TD, adding nine catches (14 targets) for 86 yards. Murray will be facing a Raiders defense that is allowing the sixth-most fantasy points per game to RBs in half-point PPR scoring, but this Broncos backfield timeshare is tough to trust in the lowest-scoring offense in the NFL. The 32-year-old will have to find the end zone to justify a starting lineup spot as a low-end, touchdown-dependent RB3/flex.

  • Latavius Murray Sees Team-High Nine Rushing Attempts

Denver Broncos running back Latavius Murray continued to share the backfield with Melvin Gordon III in the Week 10 loss to the Tennessee Titans on Sunday. Murray had a team-high nine carries for just 24 yards (2.7 yards per carry), adding three catches on three targets for 23 receiving yards in the 17-10 loss. Gordon is the "starter," but Murray has out-carried him in three of the last four games and has also found the end zone two times. Recently acquired Chase Edmonds had three touches for only nine yards as the RB3 in this one, but he could be involved more down the stretch, further cementing both Murray and Gordon as volatile touchdown-dependent RB3/flex options in one of the worst offenses in football.

  • Latavius Murray A Very Shaky Flex Play In Week 10

Denver Broncos running back Latavius Murray has totaled 37 carries for 136 yards and two touchdowns while catching four of six targets for 10 yards in his first three games with the Broncos. He has actually out-carried "starting" back Melvin Gordon III in two of his three games, but the Broncos also added Chase Edmonds in a trade at the deadline last week. Murray is an extremely shaky RB3/flex play in fantasy that will need to find the end zone again to even have a shot at being worth a starting lineup spot. The Tennessee Titans defense, Murray's Week 10 opponent, is also allowing the second-fewest rushing yards per game and the fewest fantasy points per game to the RB position in half-point PPR leagues.

  • Latavius Murray Leads Backfield, Scores Again In Week 8

Denver Broncos running back Latavius Murray led the team's backfield with 14 carries for 46 yards and his third touchdown of the season in the Week 8 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars in London. He caught one of his two targets for 13 yards through the air. Murray out-touched backfield mate Melvin Gordon III 15 to 12 and out-gained him 59 to 52 in total scrimmage yards. The 32-year-old has now scored in back-to-back weeks and in two of his first three games with Denver. He hasn't been all that efficient, though, and he will continue to split touches almost evenly with Gordon moving forward. Murray's touchdown production has been nice, but he'll remain a low-upside, touchdown-dependent RB3/flex when the Broncos return from their Week 9 bye.

  • Latavius Murray A Touchdown-Dependent Flex

Denver Broncos running back Latavius Murray surprisingly took over the backfield in the team's Week 6 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers, carrying the ball 15 times for 66 yards. He took a back seat to Melvin Gordon III in last week's loss to the New York Jets, though, and finished with eight carries for 24 yards and a touchdown while adding two catches for minus-one yard. Mike Boone (ankle) is now on Injured Reserve, so Murray and Gordon should continue to split the backfield in half in the league's lowest-scoring offense. The Jacksonville Jaguars, Murray's Week 8 opponent, have been generous to opposing RBs in 2022, but Murray will most likely have to continue finding the end zone to be a worthwhile RB3/flex for fantasy managers in deeper leagues.

  • Latavius Murray Scores Only Touchdown In Loss To Jets

Denver Broncos running back Latavius Murray was out-carried 11 to eight by Melvin Gordon III in the 16-9 loss to the New York Jets in Week 7, but he scored the team's only offensive touchdown in the first half on a goal-line carry. Murray ultimately finished with 24 yards on his eight totes and caught two of his three targets for minus-one yard in the passing game. The 32-year-old veteran now has 23 carries in his first two starts for Denver in 2022 and will continue to share backfield touches with Gordon moving forward in what has been the NFL's worst offense based on points per game through seven weeks. Even if quarterback Russell Wilson (hamstring) returns for a Week 8 game in London against the Jacksonville Jaguars, Murray will be nothing more than a touchdown-dependent, low-floor RB3/flex.

  • Latavius Murray A Shaky Starting Option In Week 7

Denver Broncos running back Latavius Murray surprisingly led the team's backfield in the Week 6 overtime loss to the Los Angeles Chargers in his debut with the Broncos when he carried the ball 15 times for 66 yards. He also caught just one pass for minus-two yards. Melvin Gordon III was inexplicably benched after starting the game, and he finished with just three carries for eight yards. But head coach Nathaniel Hackett said that Gordon will start this Sunday against the New York Jets. The 32-year-old Murray will have to come off the bench again, and fantasy managers desperate enough to start him as an RB3/flex will be rolling the dice in what has been an extremely lackluster Broncos offense through the first six weeks.

  • Latavius Murray Leads Broncos Backfield In Debut

Out of nowhere, the Denver Broncos benched running back Melvin Gordon III in favor of Latavius Murray in the Monday night loss to the Los Angeles Chargers in Murray's debut with the team. Murray ended up with a team-high 15 carries for 66 yards (4.4 yards per carry) while also catching his only target for a loss of two yards. Gordon and Mike Boone combined for four carries for nine yards. It's unclear if this backfield rotation will continue in Murray's favor, but he at least deserves waiver-wire consideration in deeper leagues from fantasy managers desperate at the position. The 32-year-old will be a low-upside flex option in a Week 7 matchup against the New York Jets, but you can't expect much from this lackluster Broncos offense until something changes.

  • Latavius Murray Inactive Thursday Night

Denver Broncos running back Latavius Murray will not suit up with his new team on Thursday night against the Colts. After playing in London with the Saints in Week 4, the turnaround was too quick for the veteran to learn the new offensive system in time to play in Week 5. Without Murray, Melvin Gordon III and Mike Boone will be relied on to carry the load, with Gordon serving as the lead back in the Denver offense. Gordon has RB2 appeal in this matchup, while Boone is more of a risky FLEX option.

  • Broncos Sign Latavius Murray Off Saints Practice Squad

The Denver Broncos signed running back Latavius Murray off of the New Orleans Saints practice squad on Monday. Murray logged 11 rushes for 57 yards and a touchdown for the Saints against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 4 but he will now head to Denver to help fill out the running back room following the season-ending injury to Javonte Williams. Murray will join Melvin Gordon III and Mike Boone with the Broncos. It remains to be seen if Murray will have a role, or even suit up, against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 5's Thursday night game after he just played in London on Sunday. Murray will be worth monitoring in fantasy in case he carves out a significant role with the Broncos.

  • Latavius Murray Leads Saints' Backfield In Week 4

New Orleans Saints running back Latavius Murray rushed 11 times for 57 rushing yards and one touchdown against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 4. He also added eight receiving yards. Murray was elevated from the practice squad on Saturday and wasted no time making an impact. He saw an immediate path to production with Alvin Kamara (ribs) sidelined and Mark Ingram also spending some time in the locker room. As Kamara and Ingram progress health-wise, Murray's fantasy value will continue to dwindle.

  • Latavius Murray Joins Saints

The New Orleans Saints have signed running back Latavius Murray to their practice squad. This doesn't come as a surprise after Mark Ingram II struggled in Week 1, while Alvin Kamara (ribs) continues to deal with a lingering injury. Murray spent two seasons with New Orleans before joining the Baltimore Ravens last season. In 14 games, Murray rushed for 501 yards on 119 attempts with six touchdowns in 2021. He could quickly be elevated to the active roster with the Saints backs struggling right now. He's worth monitoring in fantasy leagues, but this would likely turn into a committee situation.
