  • Robert Woods A Flex Option In Week 3

    Headshot for Robert Woods

Houston Texans wide receiver Robert Woods will enter Week 3 against the Jacksonville Jaguars with back-to-back solid performances. He caught six passes for 57 yards in Week 1 and had six catches for 74 yards in Week 2. Woods has also seen 19 targets through the first two weeks, second-most on the team. The veteran wideout has formed a nice connection with rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud so far, and that could continue in a solid matchup for Woods in Week 3. The Texans' wideout is a high-floor, low-ceiling play in your flex spot in 12-plus team leagues.

  • Robert Woods Catches Six Passes In Week 2

    Headshot for Robert Woods

Houston Texans wide receiver Robert Woods caught six passes for 74 yards in the team's 31-20 loss to the Indianapolis Colts in Week 2. Woods continues to be productive with his new team and has become a security blanket for rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud in the passing game. In Houston's first scoring drive, Woods brought in a five-yard grab on third down before the team converted on a fourth and short, which eventually led to a touchdown. The veteran wideout has 131 receiving yards through two weeks, and he'll look to catch his first touchdown pass of the season against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 3.

  • Robert Woods - Week 2 Outlook for Fantasy Football

    Headshot for Robert Woods

Houston Texans wide receiver Robert Woods put together a solid performance last week and is looking to build off it at home against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 2. Woods caught six passes for 57 yards on 10 targets in his season debut with Houston. His six catches were tied for the team-high, while his 10 targets and 57 receiving yards ranked second among all Texan playmakers. It was a surprising Week 1 performance from Woods. But he appears to already be a security blanket for rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud in the passing game. Still, he should only be started in deep formats in Week 2.

  • Robert Woods Productive In Week 1

    Headshot for Robert Woods

Houston Texans wide receiver Robert Woods caught six passes for 57 yards in Sunday's 25-9 loss to the Baltimore Ravens. His six receptions tied wide receiver Nico Collins for the team-high. After Woods signed a one-year deal with Houston this offseason, his role remained to be seen this season. But his 10 targets on Sunday from rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud appear to be a good sign that he'll be involved on offense in some capacity. Woods finished with the second most targets for the Texans and was Stroud's security blanket in the passing game. Woods will look to repeat his production at home next week against the Indianapolis Colts.

  • Robert Woods Looks To Make Impact With New Team

    Headshot for Robert Woods

Houston Texans wide receiver Robert Woods signed a one-year deal with the team this offseason and will make his season debut with them on Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens. After spending his 2022 campaign with the Tennessee Titans, Woods will look to be rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud's security blanket in the passing game. He was an occasional flex play in Tennessee last season, totaling 53 catches for 527 yards. But with a rookie under center in Week 1, Woods should only start in deeper formats.

  • Xavier Hutchinson Quiet In Preseason Action

    Headshot for Noah Brown

Houston Texans Wide Receiver Xavier Hutchinson could muster only one catch for two yards in Saturday's 28-3 preseason loss to the Miami Dolphins. The former Iowa State pass-catching monster couldn't get anything going Saturday night and remains primarily a short-range target for the team. Hutchinson is fighting for a roster spot on the wide receiver depth chart that includes Robert Woods, Nico Collins, Noah Brown, Tank Dell, and John Metchie III. The rookie's sixth-round pedigree makes him a longshot for 2023 fantasy relevancy, but he'll look to get back on track in next week's preseason finale against the New Orleans Saints.

  • Texans Have No Clear No. 1 WR In Training Camp

    Headshot for Noah Brown

The Houston Texans have a ton of new faces on offense in 2023, and DJ Bien-Aime of ESPN reports there is no clear No. 1 wide receiver yet through over a week of training camp. The top contenders for the WR1 spot appear to be Robert Woods, Nico Collins, John Metchie III, Noah Brown, Tank Dell, and Xavier Hutchinson, but none have separated themselves from the pack this offseason. The Houston pass-catching group will likely be tricky to navigate, but it's tough to see a significant path to upside for any of them while catching passes from Davis Mills and rookie CJ Stroud. That said, one or two of the Texans' wide receivers will likely beat their preseason average draft position. Collins has the highest ADP at just the WR59 in PPR formats.

  • Offseason In Review: Houston Texans

    Headshot for Mario Addison

The Texans’ rebuild continues, and it now involves a third head coach in three years. Following in the footsteps of the 1970s and 2010s 49ers in seeing back-to-back one-and-done coaching tenures transpire, the Texans have been the league’s most anonymous on-field operation during the 2020s. GM Nick Caserio generated scrutiny as the losses piled up, but […]

  • Latest On Texans' WR Corps

    Headshot for Noah Brown

The Texans’ wide receiving corps was among the league’s worst last season, finishing 26th in combined receptions, 28th in receiving yards, and 28th in receiving touchdowns. Things aren’t looking any easier as the team’s top receivers from 2022, Brandin Cooks and Chris Moore, will find themselves in different uniforms next season. Still, according to DJ […]
