  • Zach Ertz Catches Eight Passes, Scores Twice

Arizona Cardinals tight end Zach Ertz caught eight passes for 88 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's win over the Seattle Seahawks. Ertz led the Arizona pass-catchers in receiving yards on nine targets, as quarterback Colt McCoy looked for his big tight end often. His touchdowns came from two yards and one yard out, much to the frustration of any James Conner fantasy managers. With DeAndre Hopkins (hamstring) sidelined, Ertz can continue to command a significant target share (5.8 per game) in the high-powered Arizona offense, which is enough to make him a set-and-forget TE1 for the rest of the season.

  • Zach Ertz - Week 11 Outlook for Fantasy Football

Arizona Cardinals tight end Zach Ertz had a quietly productive game in Week 10. Despite the Cardinals being down to their third-string quarterback by the end of the game, Ertz turned six targets into four catches for 46 yards, all of which were good for second on the team. Facing a Seattle Seahawks team in Week 11 that is only 17th against opposing tight ends, Ertz could once again see a healthy target share. But with the Seahawks struggling offensively while also being one of the worst run defenses in football, Arizona may lean on the running game in this one. Ertz should still be in the TE2 mix with a TE1 finish possible with the return of quarterback Kyler Murray.

  • Zach Ertz Scores In His Cardinals Debut

Arizona Cardinals tight end Zach Ertz finished with three catches for 66 yards during the win over the Texans on Sunday. The former Eagle was making his debut with his new club in Week 7, and he had a touchdown reception to show for it, grabbing a 47-yard throw from Kyler Murray in the third quarter. It was logical to assume that the veteran would have his bouts of efficiency during his tenure in the desert. However, not many expected he would contribute at this level right away. Nevertheless, fantasy managers should keep Ertz on the radar, especially against a Packers defense that has been mediocre at stopping opposing tight ends this season.

  • Zach Ertz - Week 7 Outlook for Fantasy Football

Arizona Cardinals tight end Zach Ertz will make his debut with his new team after being acquired from the Philadelphia Eagles via trade last week. The 30-year-old has hauled in 18 catches for 189 yards and two touchdowns over six games for the Eagles in 2021. Ertz has plenty left in the tank and should have a vital role in Week 7. The former Philadelphia Eagle is a borderline TE1 against a Texans defense that allows 11.7 fantasy points to opposing tight ends, second-worst in the league.

  • Zach Ertz Traded To Cardinals

Philadelphia Eagles tight end Zach Ertz has been traded to the Arizona Cardinals. Ertz will head to the desert in exchange for cornerback Tay Gowan and Arizona's 2022 fifth-round pick, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. The 30-year-old still has plenty left in the tank, as he has seen at least six targets in four games this year, either exceeding the 50-yard mark or catching a touchdown in three of those contests. Freed of the timeshare with Dallas Goedert, Ertz figures to have a more fantasy-friendly role in Arizona, even in a crowded room of pass-catchers. Since he played on Thursday night with Philadelphia, Ertz won't be eligible to play this Sunday for the Cardinals. Meanwhile, Goedert will likely emerge as a weekly TE1 in the Eagles' tight end-heavy offense, given their lack of playmakers behind DeVonta Smith.

  • Zach Ertz - Week 6 Outlook for Fantasy Football

Philadelphia Eagles tight end Zach Ertz could be a solid TE1 option in Week 6 against the Tampa Bay Bucs. With Dallas Goedert on the reserve/COVID-19 list and unlikely to be able to play on Thursday, Ertz should see almost all of the tight end snaps and could end up with double-digit targets in what should be a high-scoring game. Ertz had strong Weeks 3 and 4, where he ended up as a TE1 in both, but slipped to a one-catch performance in Week 5. His expected target share makes him a high-upside and a high-floor option until Goedert is able to come back.

  • Zach Ertz Only Catches One Pass In Week 5

Philadelphia Eagles tight end Zach Ertz only made one catch in a Week 5 win over the Carolina Panthers. He was targeted six times, but only made the one grab for seven yards. Ertz ended up second on the team in targets on a day where the Eagles passing game really struggled as a whole. Still, he saw twice as many targets as Dallas Goedert (three) and the two tight ends seem like they will continue to limit one another's value. Both should be seen as TE2s until either one separates from the other.

  • Zach Ertz Playing His Way Into Prominent Role

Philadelphia Eagles tight end Zach Ertz didn't even seem like he'd be on the Eagles roster at several points before this season began. Not only is he on the roster, he's the overall fantasy TE6 for Weeks 3 and 4 combined. While Ertz started the season slowly (three catches for 40 yards in Weeks 1 and 2), he has turned a corner and become very productive in Weeks 3 and 4 (10 catches for 113 yards and a touchdown). Going up against the Carolina Panthers in Week 5, the Eagles passing game may not have the strongest week, but Ertz's target share makes him a mid-to-high TE2 option despite the matchup.

  • Zach Ertz Catches Six Passes In Week 4

Philadelphia Eagles tight end Zach Ertz caught six passes in a Week 4 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. He was targeted eight times, good for second on the team, and gained 60 yards, also the second most for the Eagles. Ertz got off to a slow start this season and looked like he was falling further and further behind Dallas Goedert, but Ertz has been the one that's looked like the leading tight end for the past two games. It's still a tight end timeshare that will limit each player's upside, but Ertz has shown a decent floor and a low-end TE1 ceiling. He could have scored a touchdown in this one as well, but the score was called back by a penalty.

  • Zach Ertz Looks To Build On A Strong Performance

Philadelphia Eagles tight end Zach Ertz will look to build on his strong Week 3 performance when the Eagles take on the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 4. In the loss against the Cowboys, Ertz saw an 18% target share, seeing seven passes thrown his way and scoring a touchdown. It was the best game of the season for an Eagles tight end and the best game for Ertz in a long time. The tight end situation in Philly looks like one where only one of the two will be able to put up strong fantasy numbers each week. Dallas Goedert remains the slightly better bet, but it's like a coin flip with two heads: one is Goedert's, one is Ertz's. They are both TE2s with some upside in Week 4.

  • Zach Ertz Scores A Touchdown In Week 3

Philadelphia Eagles tight end Zach Ertz had a vintage Zach Ertz performance in Week 3. He was targeted seven times, catching four passes for 53 yards and a touchdown. Ertz played ahead of fellow tight end Dallas Goedert and out-targeted him 7-4. Coming into the game, Ertz had made just three catches for 40 scoreless yards, so this was a nice breakout game for the veteran. With Ertz and Dallas Goedert both playing tight end snaps on the Eagles offense, neither will be more than a TE2 consistently.

  • Zach Ertz, Boston Scott Are Active Against Cowboys

Philadelphia Eagles tight end Zach Ertz and running back Boston Scott (illness) are officially active for Monday Night Football against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 3. Ertz was removed from the Reserve/COVID-19 list on Saturday and is ready to go. He has played 60.5 percent of the offensive snaps through two games and is clearly behind Dallas Goedert as the team's go-to tight end target. Through two games, Ertz has only three receptions on four targets for 40 yards. Unless Goedert gets hurt and misses time, Ertz won't be a reliable weekly starting tight end option. Scott, who had 80 carries for 374 yards and a touchdown in 2020, has only played special teams snaps through two games and is not on the fantasy radar.

  • Eagles Activate Zach Ertz From COVID-19 List

The Philadelphia Eagles activated tight end Zach Ertz from the Reserve/COVID-19 list on Saturday. It means that Ertz should be available to play on Monday night in Week 3 against the Dallas Cowboys. Ertz has seen only 12 fewer snaps and three fewer targets than Dallas Goedert through the first two weeks of the season, but he has just three catches for 40 yards in those two games. Goedert has six receptions on his seven targets for 66 yards and a touchdown. Ertz is playing second fiddle to Goedert, as expected, which puts him off the fantasy radar unless Goedert were to go down with an injury. Philly's tight ends could have a good day against a Dallas defense that has allowed the fifth-most fantasy points per game to the position so far, but Ertz still shouldn't be in starting lineups.

  • Zach Ertz Tests Positive For COVID-19

Philadelphia Eagles tight end Zach Ertz tested positive for COVID-19 and was placed on the league's COVID-19 list on Monday. Ertz is vaccinated, so there's a chance that he will be cleared in time to play on Monday night against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 3. He'll need to show no symptoms and produce two negative tests 24 hours apart. Fantasy managers should consider Ertz very questionable for this week. The 30-year-old had only one catch on two targets for six yards in the Week 2 loss to the San Francisco 49ers, and he has just three receptions for 40 yards through the first two games as the clear second option behind Dallas Goedert. If Ertz were to sit out on Monday, Goedert would become a more attractive low-end TE1 for fantasy managers.

  • Zach Ertz Makes Just One Catch In Week 2

Philadelphia Eagles tight end Zach Ertz made only one catch in a Week 2 loss to the San Francisco 49ers, gaining just six yards. Ertz was targeted twice in a game where Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts completed only 12 passes. It was a poor performance by the entire Philly offense and especially by the passing game. They'll hope for better results on Monday Night Football in Week 3 against the Dallas Cowboys. Ertz is clearly operating as the TE2 on a team that should see most of its success on the ground. It's tough to have Ertz on a fantasy roster at this point.

  • Zach Ertz Off The Final Injury Report

Philadelphia Eagles tight end Zach Ertz (hamstring) took part in a full practice on Friday and has been removed from the final injury report for Week 2 against the San Francisco 49ers. Ertz didn't practice on Wednesday and was then limited on Thursday. The 30-year-old will be available to work in tandem once again with Dallas Goedert. In the Week 1 win over the Atlanta Falcons, Goedert was the clear top option with a 73.2 percent target share and a touchdown, while Ertz played 57.7 percent of the snaps and was targeted just two times (two catches for 34 yards). Ertz could have a big game here or there, but they will be entirely unpredictable. As long as Goedert is the top pass-catching tight end, Ertz will have low-end TE2 value on a weekly basis.

Sep 17 · Source via Eagles Zach Ertz
  • Zach Ertz Back At Practice Thursday

Philadelphia Eagles tight end Zach Ertz (hamstring) returned to a limited practice session on Thursday after he did not practice on Wednesday. Ertz was injured in the Week 1 win over the Atlanta Falcons and was mainly given a rest on Wednesday as a precaution, so he should be available to play in the Week 2 matchup against the San Francisco 49ers. Dallas Goedert played 73.2 percent of the offensive snaps compared to Ertz's 57.7 in Week 1, and Goedert also out-targeted Ertz five to two and found the end zone. There could be some weeks where Ertz out-produces Goedert, but those weeks will be unpredictable, and it's clear that Goedert is the better fantasy option as a low-end TE1. Ertz is a low-end TE2 until further notice.

Sep 16 · Source via Eagles Zach Ertz
  • Zach Ertz Listed As DNP On Wednesday

Philadelphia Eagles tight end Zach Ertz (hamstring) missed practice on Wednesday to get some rest and heal a hamstring injury that he suffered in Week 1. The veteran briefly exited in Week 1 versus the Atlanta Falcons, but then returned to the contest. Ertz would finish by catching both of his targets for 34 yards. The normally reliable tight end started to decline last season and the emergence of Dallas Goedert at the tight end position has limited the ceiling for Ertz. At this point in his career, Ertz is no longer one of the safe options at the tight end position. Managers in 10-team leagues should feel safe avoiding Ertz and finding a more reliable option on the waiver wire. If he suits up, Ertz should be considered a TE2 in Week 2 versus a tough San Francisco 49ers defense.

Sep 15 · Source via Eagles Zach Ertz
  • Zach Ertz Could Still Be Fantasy Relevant In Week 2

Philadelphia Eagles tight end Zach Ertz didn't do much in terms of production in Week 1, but there were some encouraging signs regardless. Ertz ran 23 receiving routes, only three fewer than starter Dallas Goedert. Granted, Goedert turned his routes into four catches and a touchdown while Ertz was only thrown to twice, but the near even split on the field shows that Ertz is likely still going to be a part of this offense. Week 2 will be against a much tougher San Francisco 49ers defense, so seeing how the tight ends are used when the Eagles aren't nursing a lead for the whole second half should be interesting. Ertz is a TE2 who will always have some touchdown upside.

  • Zach Ertz Only Targeted Twice In Week 1

Philadelphia Eagles tight end Zach Ertz was only targeted twice in a Week 1 win over the Atlanta Falcons. Ertz caught both passes, gaining 34 yards. He was clearly operating as the second tight end, behind starter Dallas Goedert, who scored a touchdown and drew six targets. Ertz looked decent on the field and could have some fantasy value if Goedert is forced to miss time, but as things stand now, Ertz will likely need to score a touchdown to return significant fantasy value in any given week.

Sep 12 · Source via Eagles Zach Ertz
  • Zach Ertz Just A Depth Piece For Now

Philadelphia Eagles tight end Zach Ertz is not a strong starting option in fantasy lineups for Week 1 despite an excellent matchup against the Atlanta Falcons. The Falcons defense was 27th against opposing tight ends last season, but with more receiving options available on offense and Dallas Goedert clearly ahead of him on the depth chart at tight end, Ertz might not be on the field nearly as often as he's been throughout his career. Ertz ended last season as the overall TE32 and was rumored to be available in trades this offseason, but the Eagles found no takers. Ertz is likely to lower the floor and ceiling of Goedert without providing much of a floor or a ceiling for himself. He should only be rostered in deeper formats and does not need to be in any Week 1 starting lineups.

  • Zach Ertz Wants To Retire With The Eagles

Philadelphia Eagles tight end Zach Ertz spoke to the public for the first time this season and claimed he wants to stay in Philadelphia. Dating back to the 2020 NFL season and continuing through the off-season, it seemed certain that Ertz wouldn't be on the Eagles roster come 2021, yet he still remains in the City of Brotherly Love. The 30-year-old is coming off of a terrible season, but he's just one year removed from being one of the top tight ends in the league for six consecutive seasons. Everything went wrong for the Eagles in 2020, and Ertz is definitely reaching an age where decline in skills is expected, but it happened so suddenly that some speculation is warranted. In addition to his poor performance, the former star suffered an injury in 2020, which may have hindered him while he was still on the field. Though tight end Dallas Goedert has undoubtedly surpassed him, at an ADP of 165 overall and TE18, Ertz is worth a speculative pickup to see what he looks like in Week 1.
