  • Broncos HC Sean Payton Insists Team Will Not Trade WRs Jerry Jeudy, Courtland Sutton

Throughout the early offseason, rumors have run rampant concerning two of the Broncos’ most promising assets. Denver fielded calls before last year’s trade deadline from several teams seeking to acquire wide receivers Jerry Jeudy and Courtland Sutton. Despite the existing interest, new head coach Sean Payton assured the media today that they have no intentions […]

  • Russell Wilson Expected To Be Fine For OTAs

Denver Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right knee, a procedure to fix an issue that had nagged him for a few seasons, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Wilson is already working out and throwing, so he's fully expected to be ready to go for offseason team activities and Week 1 of the 2023 NFL season. Wilson is coming off his worst season in the NFL, throwing for just 16 touchdowns to 11 interceptions. Perhaps the knee clean-up will help his mobility next season under new Broncos' head coach Sean Payton.

  • Broncos Pursued Adam Thielen, Allen Lazard; Jerry Jeudy Still Drawing Trade Interest

While reports of the Broncos’ plans to keep Jerry Jeudy and Courtland Sutton keep emerging, the again-retooling team’s starting wide receivers continue to come up in trade rumors. Denver’s pursuits of other wide receivers in free agency may provide a hint to Sean Payton‘s plans at the position. Adam Thielen said the Broncos and Cowboys […]

  • Broncos Give Mike McGlinchey A Five-Year Deal

The Denver Broncos agreed with free-agent right tackle Mike McGlinchey on a massive five-year deal worth $87.5 million on Monday, according to a source. The deal includes over $50 million guaranteed. The Broncos ponied up and paid McGlinchey and offensive guard Ben Powers in order to improve their offensive line on the first day of free agency on Monday. The 28-year-old McGlinchey was the ninth overall pick in the 2018 draft by the San Francisco 49ers, and he spent the last five years in San Francisco. He's known as more of a run blocker and his addition should make life easier on Denver's ground game and quarterback Russell Wilson.

  • Broncos Add Davis Webb, Chris Banjo To Coaching Staff

FEBRUARY 26: Confirming that his playing days are officially over, Banjo tweeted on Sunday that he has retired. He acknowledged that his next NFL chapter is already well known, as was announced when the Broncos unveiled their full coaching staff. • Broncos Hire Joe Lombardi As OC

FEBRUARY 25: The Broncos announced their full staff on Saturday, and it does indeed list Lombardi as offensive coordinator. Their first season in Denver will see the veteran staffers work […]

  • Broncos Sign Sean Payton To Five-Year Deal

The Denver Broncos officially signed new head coach Sean Payton to a five-year deal on Friday, tying him to the team through the 2027 season, according to sources. In order to pry Payton away from the New Orleans Saints, who he was still under contract with, the Broncos had to fork over a 2023 first-rounder and a 2024 second-rounder to the Saints. Denver fired first-year head coach Nathaniel Hackett midway through the 2022 season after a disappointing start that saw quarterback Russell Wilson have the worst season of his career. While the Broncos still have some interesting weapons on offense and a solid unit on defense, Payton will have plenty of work to do to get Wilson back on track in 2023 and beyond.

  • Broncos Acquire Sean Payton As Next Head Coach

The Denver Broncos have finalized a deal to acquire head coach Sean Payton from the New Orleans Saints. In exchange, the Saints will receive a first and second-round pick from Denver. This doesn't seem like much of a surprise considering Payton has been on their radar for awhile. The Broncos were heavily pursuing DeMeco Ryans before he took the head coach job with the Houston Texans. After that, the Broncos went with their backup plan which was Payton. The 59-year-old Super Bowl winning coach should be able to give this Broncos team a boost. The biggest task for Payton is going to be to try and revive Russell Wilson after his horrendous 2022 campaign.

  • Broncos To Meet With Sean Payton Next Tuesday

The Denver Broncos are scheduled to be the first team this month to have an in-person head-coach interview with former New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton, according to a source. The Broncos and Payton are scheduled to meet next Tuesday morning in Los Angeles. It's unclear how much interest in Denver's head-coach position Payton might have with a declining Russell Wilson leading the offense, but there are much worse situations around the league. Along with the Broncos, the Arizona Cardinals and Houston Texans have requested permission from the Saints to interview Payton since he's still under contract with the team. Any team that is serious about hiring Payton as their next head coach will have to fork over some valuable draft capital to acquire him.

The Broncos’ second HC search in as many years is producing bigger headlines compared to their 2022 process, with Sean Payton and Jim Harbaugh regularly connected to the team. • Russell Wilson Ends Season On A Positive Note

Denver Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson ended his disastrous first season with the team in the Week 18 regular season finale on a positive note in the 31-28 win over the Los Angeles Chargers, albeit in a meaningless game for both teams. Wilson finished 13-for-24 for 283 yards, three touchdowns and one interception while being sacked twice for 17 yards. He also ran the ball eight times for 18 yards. It was one of the 34-year-old's better games of the season, but as we mentioned previously, this game didn't matter in the grand scheme of things. The veteran QB will be changing his offseason routine up and will also have a new head coach and quite possibly an entire new coaching staff in 2024. The Broncos have the offensive weapons for Wilson to rebound, but the offensive line needs upgrading and Wilson needs to be better than his career-worst 60.5% completion percentage.

  • Broncos Granted Permission To Interview Sean Payton

The Saints granted the Broncos permission to interview their former head coach, Sean Payton. The 59-year-old remains under contract with New Orleans, so compensation is expected, which is rumored to be at least a first-round pick. However, Denver is reportedly willing to meet the demand. Payton has an impressive resume, amassing a lifetime head coaching record of 152-89, including a Super Bowl victory back in 2010. Undoubtedly, adding Payton would be an upgrade from Nathaniel Hackett, who was fired on December 26 after leading the club to a disappointing 4-11 record under his watch. It would also be good news for Russell Wilson, who had arguably the worst season of his career.

  • Russell Wilson Looking To End A Disappointing Season Strong

Denver Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson is coming off one of his best games of the season when he threw for 222 yards and a touchdown and added two rushing scores in the Week 17 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. But Wilson's first season in Denver has gone horribly wrong. He has a career-worst 60.8% completion percentage, 3,241 passing yards, 13 touchdowns and 10 interceptions in 14 games, averaging just over 15 fantasy points per game. The nine-time Pro Bowler gets the Los Angeles Chargers in the Week 18 regular season finale, a team that has been solid against the pass, allowing the sixth-fewest passing yards per game in 2022. There's no reason to treat Wilson as anything other than what he's been all year: a midrange QB2 with a low ceiling. In Week 6 against the Bolts, Wilson went 15-for-28 for 188 yards, one touchdown and no picks in a loss.

  • Russell Wilson Rushes For Two Touchdowns In Week 17

Denver Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson has been a huge disappointment in his first year with the Broncos, but he had one of his best games of the season in the 27-24 loss to the division-rival Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday. Wilson finished 26-for-38 for 222 yards, one touchdown and an interception while adding four carries for 27 yards and two touchdowns on the ground. He was sacked four times and lost a fumble right before halftime. If only the 34-year-old could have faced the Chiefs all season long. Wilson will be hoping to finish the season strong in a Week 18 tilt against the Los Angeles Chargers before re-evaluating his entire offseason program after his rough season. With a new coaching staff set to come in for the 2023 season, it's possible that Wilson could bounce back, but fantasy managers probably won't be eager to take the chance.

  • Russell Wilson To Re-Evaluate His Routine

Denver Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson "plans to examine everything" during the upcoming offseason, according to NFL.com's Ian Rapoport. The veteran signal-caller will evaluate all aspects of his procedure, from his offseason regimen to his pre-game routine and everything in between. This decision stems from what has been a poor first season in Denver for Wilson. Through 13 games, he has completed 60.1 percent of passes for 3,019 yards, 12 touchdowns, nine interceptions, and 49 sacks.
