  • Russell Wilson Unlikely To Suit Up Versus Dallas

Denver Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson isn't expected to play during the preseason opener versus Dallas. "I don't think so," responded head coach Nathaniel Hackett when asked if the multi-time Pro Bowler would suit up on Saturday. Considering Wilson has been in the league since 2012, Broncos fans may not see him on the field until Week 1 for the Monday Night Football showdown against his former team, the Seattle Seahawks. Josh Johnson and Brett Rypien are currently listed behind Wilson on the depth chart, so they'll likely get more than enough work to warrant DFS consideration.

  • Broncos, Russell Wilson Yet To Begin Extension Talks

Both the Broncos and Russell Wilson have expressed the obvious desire for a long-term partnership, a scenario introduced by the historic trade package sent to the quarterback’s former team. But the sides are operating methodically here. No negotiations are believed to have taken place yet, Jeff Howe of The Athletic notes (subscription required). Wilson is […]

  • Russell Wilson Speeding Up Broncos Offense

Denver Broncos head coach Nathaniel Hackett said on Wednesday that it will be up to quarterback Russell Wilson to set the pace for the offense during training camp and into the season. And after two days of practices, it's clear Wilson wants to press his foot firmly on the accelerator. The increased pace of the offense is unmistakable, even when measured against the workouts of the offseason program. The Broncos ranked 28th in the league in pace of play last year, according to Football Outsiders, with an average play time between snaps of 29.45 seconds. The Seahawks under Wilson in 2021 ranked sixth. A fast-paced offense doesn't always mean an efficient offense, but this should be good news for a Wilson-led Broncos offense in 2022, and Wilson should be seen as a top-10 fantasy QB in his new digs.

  • Courtland Sutton Could Become Russell Wilson's Go-To

Denver Broncos wide receiver Courtland Sutton profiles as the player most likely to fit in the DK Metcalf role for new quarterback Russell Wilson, the player he trusts to use his big frame to shield defenders and make critical plays in tight moments. The 6-foot-4, 216-pounder has a proven ability to win deep routes, but he hasn't had a QB yet that is capable of putting the ball on target consistently. Of all wideouts in 2021 who were targeted at least 50 times, Sutton was second in air yards per target at 15.4 yards. It remains to be seen if Sutton can unlock another gear with Wilson under center, but fantasy managers will be willing to find out with him as a WR2 on their fantasy rosters.

  • Broncos Tailoring Offense Around Russell Wilson

Denver Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson will have his skillset fully taken advantage of in his new home this upcoming season, as the Denver coaching staff are "tailoring things around him." Some believe that Wilson was held back in a run-heavy scheme in Seattle, but will now "have more ownership of the offense." Wilson will be supported by Courtland Sutton, Jerry Jeudy, Tim Patrick, Javonte Williams, and Melvin Gordon III, which is a more than formidable group of weapons for the 33-year-old signal-caller. If Wilson has his way, which all signs point to he will, we could see the former Seahawk see a significant uptick in pass attempts in 2022. With Wilson being given the green light to take shots down the field, we could see him vault back into the elite tier of fantasy quarterbacks. Currently being drafted as a low-end QB1, Wilson is seemingly one of the best values at the quarterback position.

  • Russell Wilson Throwing With Teammates Over Summer

Denver Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson will spend most of the summer leading up to training camp by working with his teammates. The signal-caller drilled with wide receivers, tight ends, and members of the offensive line at his home in San Diego during the spring, so the same group will likely be involved. Unquestionably, Wilson is looking to quickly build a rapport with his new receiving options, Courtland Sutton, Jerry Jeudy, and Tim Patrick, among others, who all have a realistic shot of having the best fantasy seasons of their careers.

  • Latest On Broncos' Offensive Line Plans

Pro Football Focus ranked the Broncos’ 2021 offensive line 19th, and while the team will have a different Week 1 right tackle starter for a 10th straight season, Denver made only midlevel moves up front this offseason. That said, the 2022 Broncos should have more depth here. It is possible four positions are up for […]
