  • Jets Looking For Backup Quarterback

    Headshot for Jacoby Brissett

The New York Jets are not expected to keep quarterback Zach Wilson around as the backup to Aaron Rodgers in 2024. "[We] need a backup quarterback," owner Woody Johnson said. "We didn't have one last year." One veteran QB told ESPN that it will be difficult for the Jets to convince a top-tier backup to play for the Jets, knowing there's no chance to supplant a healthy Rodgers. The Jets won four games in Wilson's 11 starts in 2023 en route to a 7-10 record. Among the Jets' options this offseason to give them insurance behind Rodgers are Ryan Tannehill, Gardner Minshew, Jacoby Brissett, Tyrod Taylor, Mitch Trubisky, Marcus Mariota, Sam Darnold, Drew Lock and Tyler Huntley. Jimmy Garoppolo will also be available after the Raiders cut him, and the same could be true for Cooper Rush, Taylor Heinicke, Mike White, Andy Dalton and Case Keenum.

  • Ryan Tannehill On Steelers' Radar?

    Headshot for Kenny Pickett

After Will Levis took over for an injured Ryan Tannehill midway through the 2023 season, the latter’s Titans tenure appeared to come to a close. Tannehill is a pending free agent, but he should draw interest from a number of potential suitors. One of those is likely to be the Steelers, Ian Rapoport, Tom Pelissero and Mike Garafolo of […]

  • Ryan Tannehill A Fit For Steelers?

    Headshot for Ryan Tannehill

ESPN's Brooke Pryor suggests that the Pittsburgh Steelers could opt to bring in Tennessee Titans impending free-agent quarterback Ryan Tannehill as a short-term fix at the position if they want to give Kenny Pickett more time to develop in 2024. It makes some sense given Tannehill's success in offensive coordinator Arthur Smith's system in Tennessee -- Tannehill earned his lone Pro Bowl nod in 2019 with Smith running the offense. However, Tannehill is now 35 years old and wouldn't have the type of aerial weapons that he did when he had a career-best season in Tennessee. Pittsburgh has also expressed interest in re-signing Mason Rudolph, who was more efficient after taking over for Pickett while leading the team to a playoff berth.

  • Titans Fire Head Coach Mike Vrabel

    Headshot for Derrick Henry

The Tennessee Titans fired head coach Mike Vrabel on Tuesday, according to sources. Vrabel led the Titans to four straight winning seasons after he was hired in 2018, but the Titans have decided to move on after experiencing back-to-back frustrating seasons the last two years and finishing multiple games under .500 both times. Tennessee started the 2023 season 2-4 before their bye and were never a factor in the AFC playoff race while pivoting from veteran quarterback Ryan Tannehill to rookie Will Levis in the middle of the season. The Titans are at a crossroads this offseason. Vrabel is gone and both Tannehill and running back Derrick Henry are unlikely to return as they enter free agency. Vrabel's best season was in 2021, when the team went 12-5 and was the top seed in the AFC. Vrabel won NFL Coach of the Year, but the Titans were eliminated in their playoff opener that year.

  • Titans' Mike Vrabel Facing Uncertain Future

    Headshot for Derrick Henry

Speculation has been present throughout the 2023 season with respect to Titans head coach Mike Vrabel. His sixth year at the helm of the franchise came to an end on Sunday, and it remains to be seen what direction the organization will take. Reports have pointed to Vrabel and first-year general manager Ran Carthon not being on the […]

  • Ryan Tannehill Looks Solid In Likely Last Game With Titans

    Headshot for Ryan Tannehill

Tennessee Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill completed 17 of his 26 passes for 168 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception in the Week 18 upset win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. It was likely Tannehill's final game with the organization, and he did enough to knock the Jaguars out of the playoffs. The 35-year-old is unlikely to land a starting job in the offseason, but he could serve as a bridge quarterback or draw a start or two next season due to injuries. There's a low chance he's on the fantasy radar in single-QB formats next year, but deep Superflex league fantasy managers should monitor his landing spot in free agency.

  • Ryan Tannehill To Start Against Jaguars

    Headshot for Ryan Tannehill

Tennessee Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill will make the start in the Week 18 regular season finale on Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars instead of rookie Will Levis, who injured his foot in the Week 17 loss to the Houston Texans. With the Titans already eliminated from the postseason, they've elected to give the 35-year-old Tannehill one final start in what is expected to be his final game with the organization. He'll have a lot of incentive to play well in front of the home faithful as the Titans look to spoil the Jaguars' playoff hopes. Tannehill also started in Week 16 with Levis sidelined, and he's gone 34-for-46 for 320 yards, no touchdowns or interceptions in the last two weeks. He'll be playing with a lot of emotions this weekend but won't be a recommended DFS sleeper at the QB position.

    Headshot for Derrick Henry

The Titans entered the 2022 season on the heels of six straight winning campaigns. They are closing out a second straight slate with double-digit losses. Speculation about Mike Vrabel‘s future has persisted this season, and as the coaching carousel prepares to spin, the sixth-year Tennessee HC’s name continues to come up. • Ryan Tannehill Could Start In Season Finale

    Headshot for Ryan Tannehill

Tennessee Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill could be in line to start in the team's season finale against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday. Rookie quarterback Will Levis (foot) suffered a foot injury in the Week 17 loss to the Houston Texans and did not return after exiting. Tannehill went on to complete 16 of his 20 passing attempts for 186 yards, no touchdowns, and no interceptions. If Levis can't play on Sunday, Tannehill will draw the start in what is likely to be his last game with the organization. The 35-year-old had a great run with Tennessee, but his contract is up after this season, and he's no longer viewed as the franchise quarterback. Tannehill remains off the fantasy or DFS radar this week after throwing just two touchdowns in eight appearances this season.

  • Ryan Tannehill Throws For 168 Yards In Week 17 Loss

    Headshot for Ryan Tannehill

Tennessee Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill completed 16 of his 20 passing attempts for 168 yards, no touchdowns, and no interceptions in the Week 17 blowout loss to the Houston Texans. Tannehill came in for an injured Will Levis (foot), who was dealing with a high-ankle sprain heading into Sunday. There's a good chance Levis will be held out of Week 18 as a precaution, meaning Tannehill would start against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Next week could be Tannehill's final game as a Titan. Neither Tennessee quarterback belongs on the fantasy radar.

  • Will Levis Questionable To Return With A Foot Injury

    Headshot for Will Levis

Tennessee Titans rookie quarterback Will Levis (foot) is questionable to return to Sunday's Week 17 game against the Houston Texans. Levis was injured on a strip sack, which led to a Texans defensive touchdown during the second quarter, and was slow to get up. He went to the blue medical tent and eventually went to the locker room. Ryan Tannehill is currently in the game for the Titans. The team should provide another update on their rookie quarterback at halftime.

  • Ryan Tannehill Throws For 152 Yards In Loss

    Headshot for Ryan Tannehill

Tennessee Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill completed 18 of his 26 passing attempts for 152 yards, no touchdowns, and no interceptions in the Week 16 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. The veteran has just two passing touchdowns in eight games this year, so he remains off the fantasy radar if he draws another start next week. Will Levis (ankle) is dealing with a high-ankle sprain, so who will start against Houston in Week 17 is to be determined.

  • Ryan Tannehill Will Start In Week 16

    Headshot for Ryan Tannehill

Tennessee Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill will draw the start in Week 16 versus the Seattle Seahawks, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. This comes in the wake of an injury to Will Levis (ankle), who practiced on Friday but is expected to be inactive this week. Tannehill, of course, started the Titans' first six games of the season before a combination of injury and poor performance led to his benching during the bye week. He had struggled drastically as the starter, completing just 62 percent of his passes for 1,128 yards, two touchdowns, and six interceptions. Fantasy managers shouldn't expect anything special from him during Sunday's spot start. He remains off the fantasy radar while top pass-catcher DeAndre Hopkins falls to the low-end WR2 range.

  • Will Levis Unlikely To Start In Week 16

    Headshot for Will Levis

Tennessee Titans quarterback Will Levis (ankle) is unlikely to start in the Week 16 matchup against the Seattle Seahawks. There's a chance he could be active but is expected to head to the bench for Sunday's contest. The rookie quarterback suffered an ankle injury during last week's loss to the Houston Texans. He missed most of practice this week until getting in a limited session on Friday. It's unlikely that the Titans push Levis onto the field when he's clearly not 100 percent healthy. That being said, Ryan Tannehill should be under center for a favorable matchup against the Seahawks' secondary. Tannehill should have some QB2 appeal for this weekend's slate.

  • Ryan Tannehill Could Start In Week 16

    Headshot for Ryan Tannehill

Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Vrabel said that quarterback Ryan Tannehill will be the team's starting QB on Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks if rookie Will Levis (ankle) is not available. Levis suffered a high-ankle sprain in Week 15's overtime loss to the Houston Texans and is now firmly in danger of sitting out this weekend. For what it's worth, Levis was unable to practice on Wednesday, allowing Tannehill to take first-team snaps. The 35-year-old dealt with a high-ankle sprain of his own earlier this year and missed three games, allowing Levis to take over the starting role in his first NFL season. Tannehill looked washed up in six starts earlier this year before getting hurt, going 98-for-158 for 1,128 yards, two touchdowns and six interceptions. He'll be a low-upside, low-end QB2 in superflex leagues if he makes the start against Seattle.

  • Will Levis Not Practicing, Ryan Tannehill Taking First-Team Snaps

    Headshot for Ryan Tannehill

Tennessee Titans rookie quarterback Will Levis (ankle) is not practicing with the team on Wednesday. As a result, veteran Ryan Tannehill is taking first-team snaps under center. Levis is probably on the wrong side of questionable for Week 16 against the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday after suffering a high-ankle sprain in last week's overtime loss to the Houston Texans. High-ankle sprains typically require players to miss several weeks of action, so it's possible Levis could miss multiple games. Tannehill will return to a starting role if Levis misses any time. The 35-year-old suffered a high-ankle sprain of his own in Week 6 and hasn't played since, although he's been active since Week 11. In six starts before his injury and before Levis took over the offense, Tannehill struggled with a 62.03 completion percentage, 1,128 passing yards, only two touchdowns and six interceptions.
