  • Alshon Jeffery Tweaks His Calf

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Alshon Jeffery (calf, foot) was hoping to make his season debut on Thursday night against the Giants, but he was ruled out for Week 7 due to a minor calf strain that he suffered recently. The Eagles are hoping he can ramp himself up and be ready to face the Cowboys in Week 8. The 30-year-old just can't get away from the injury bug, which has caused most fantasy managers to completely forget that he exists at all. But Jeffery should be the team's top receiver when/if he's finally healthy this year. It might not amount to him being much more than a WR3/4 for fantasy purposes, but those in deeper leagues looking for receiver depth should consider stashing him now.

  • Alshon Jeffery, Malik Jackson Ruled Out For Thursday

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Alshon Jeffery (foot) and defensive tackle Malik Jackson (quadriceps) have been ruled out for Thursday night against the Giants. While Jeffery has been limited in practice the last couple of weeks, he has yet to make his 2020 debut after offseason surgery. The oft-injured 30-year-old will eventually be a starter for the Eagles as they work him back in, though, so he's worth stashing for receiver depth in deeper leagues. He could very well make his debut in Week 8 against the Cowboys and their awful defense. DeSean Jackson (hamstring) is on track to make his return on Thursday after a three-game absence, which could be bad news for Travis Fulgham, Greg Ward and rookie John Hightower.

  • Alshon Jeffery Unlikely To Debut On Thursday Night

Philadelphia Eagles head coach Doug Pederson said it would be hard to get wide receiver Alshon Jeffery (foot) ready on a short week against the Giants on Thursday night. Jeffery has been limited so far in practice this week, but the Eagles remain cautious with him since he has yet to play in 2020 while coming off foot surgery. The good news is that Philly could get DeSean Jackson (hamstring) back in Week 7. Regardless, Travis Fulgham remains the most attractive fantasy wideout for the Eagles against a shaky Giants Defense on Thursday night. Rookie John Hightower and Greg Ward will also see playing time even if Jackson is active. Jeffery could return in Week 8 against the Cowboys and is a stash option for receiver depth.

  • Alshon Jeffery, DeSean Jackson Both Listed As Limited Monday

Philadelphia Eagles wide receivers Alshon Jeffery (foot) and DeSean Jackson (hamstring) were both listed as limited practice participants Monday ahead of Thursdays contest versus the Giants. Both receivers were out of the equation Sunday against Baltimore, with Jackson already expected to suit up come Thursday. As for Jeffery, he would be making his season debut after working his way back from a Lisfranc injury. Having either back in the mix would be a boon for Carson Wentz, who will be without Zach Ertz (ankle) for the foreseeable future. Travis Fulgham has become a breakout fantasy sensation over the past three weeks, and while his stock would take a dip with Jeffery or Jackson back, any of the three are season-long options against a shaky Giants secondary.

  • Alshon Jeffery, DeSean Jackson Ruled Out

Philadelphia Eagles wide receivers Alshon Jeffery (foot) and DeSean Jackson (hamstring) and offensive tackle Lane Johnson (ankle) have been ruled out for Week 6 against the Ravens. Jeffery has yet to play in 2020, but he's been limited in practices the last couple weeks and could make his debut in Week 7. Jackson will miss his third straight game and has developed a reputation for being a slow healer. The speedy deep threat didn't take advantage of the team being banged up at the position when he was on the field to begin the year, making him droppable in shallow leagues. Greg Ward and Travis Fulgham, who exploded for 152 yards and a touchdown last week, should continue to see increased usage. There's flex appeal in deeper leagues, but temper expectations against a stingy Ravens Defense.

  • Alshon Jeffery Inching Closer To His Debut

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Alshon Jeffery (foot) was a limited practice participant on Thursday. Jeffery is trying to heal up so that he can make his 2020 season debut in Week 6 in an extremely tough matchup against the Ravens Defense. The 30-year-old was also limited in practice last week, but he ultimately did not play. If Jeffery makes his season debut, expect his snap count to be limited, putting him off the radar for fantasy starting lineups if he's active. If DeSean Jackson misses another game this week, Greg Ward, rookie John Hightower and Travis Fulgham will continue to see more opportunities, but you should temper expectations against Baltimore.

  • Alshon Jeffery Could Return For Week 6

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Alshon Jeffery (foot, illness) could suit up and play in Week 6 against the Baltimore Ravens. Jeffery was not ready to start the season due to a foot injury, and then just as he was trending upwards for Week 5, he came down with a non-COVID related illness. Thursday and Friday's practice reports will tell a more clear story, but Jeffery could be ready to make his debut in Week 6. If he does, it will be against a tough Baltimore defense and as a part of a struggling Eagles offense. Carson Wentz has desperately needed a big chain-moving receiver like Jeffery though, so he may see a good number of targets as long as he stays healthy. Still, he's far too risky to start in most formats even if he's healthy. He's worth checking the waiver wire for, though, as he should have a significant role going forward.

  • Eagles Still Without DeSean Jackson, Alshon Jeffery

The Philadelphia Eagles offense is still in poor shape, as they are without Alshon Jeffery and DeSean Jackson once again. Tight end Hakeem Butler -- a college wide receiver -- is inactive as well. So, it looks like another week for Greg Ward to serve as the team's primary wide receiver. Ward's a solid WR3 play this week with upside due to his projected target share.

  • DeSean Jackson, Alshon Jeffery Ruled Out For Week 5

Philadelphia Eagles wide receivers DeSean Jackson (hamstring) and Alshon Jeffery (foot) have been ruled out for Week 5 against the Steelers. Cornerback Avonte Maddox (ankle) is also out. With rookie Jalen Reagor (thumb) and Dallas Goedert (ankle) on Injured Reserve, the Eagles are really hurting for pass-catchers. Greg Ward Jr. and rookie John Hightower figure to be the team's top two wideouts this Sunday, making quarterback Carson Wentz an easy fade as a QB1. Pittsburgh has actually allowed the eighth-most fantasy points to receivers in three games, but there's just not much to like here with Philly and their out-of-sync offense. At best, Ward is a flex consideration in deeper leagues, but the bar shouldn't be set very high. Jeffery is getting closer to making his season debut, while the oft-injured D-Jax is heading in the opposite direction, missing the last two games. Jackson can be dropped in standard-sized leagues.

  • Alshon Jeffery Could Make His 2020 Debut In Week 5

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Alshon Jeffery (foot) is questionable for Week 5 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Jeffery was questionable for Week 4 as well before ultimately being held out, but he seems to have a better chance to suit up this week. With the Eagles desperate for any warm bodies that can catch footballs, Jeffery could have a role immediately upon returning to the field. Still, he's hard to trust in any starting lineups as the Eagles passing game has been a disaster and they're taking on a Steelers team that excels at pressuring opposing quarterbacks. Jeffery is worth picking up for fantasy managers with open bench spots, but he's not a starting lineup option in Week 5 if he even plays.

  • DeSean Jackson, Alshon Jeffery Ruled Out For Week 4

Philadelphia Eagles wide receivers DeSean Jackson (hamstring) and Alshon Jeffery (foot) have both been ruled out for Sunday night against the 49ers. J.J. Arcega-Whiteside (calf) is also listed as doubtful. The oft-injured Jackson has failed to impress in an offense missing Jeffery and rookie Jalen Reagor (thumb), making him droppable in standard-sized redraft leagues. Jeffery is close to making his season debut, so he may be worth an add if he's available in your league. Greg Ward Jr. and rookie John Hightower will be the team's top two receivers on Sunday night, but Ward being a sleeper flex play in deeper leagues. Tight end Zach Ertz should also be heavily targeted with Dallas Goedert (ankle) on Injured Reserve.

  • Miles Sanders, Alshon Jeffery Limited Wednesday

Philadelphia Eagles running back Miles Sanders (gluteus) and wide receiver Alshon Jeffery (foot) were both limited in practice on Wednesday. Sanders should be fine for the Week 4 matchup against a 49ers Defense that has been hit hard by injuries on their defensive line. Sanders has been one of the only offensive weapons in Philly that has been playing up to his standards, totaling over 100 yards in the Week 3 tie with the Bengals. He has RB1 upside with the Eagles having limited offensive weapons. Jeffery is slowly making his way back after offseason surgery, and the Eagles really need him in the starting lineup with Dallas Goedert (ankle) and rookie Jalen Reagor (thumb) both on Injured Reserve. The 30-year-old won't return this weekend, but he's on his way back and should be picked up and stashed if he's available in your league.

  • Alshon Jeffery Could Play In Week 4

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Alshon Jeffery (foot) is expected to see more and more work in practice this week and could be active for Week 4 if everything goes well. With the Eagles offense struggling and losing players each week, Jeffery could play a prominent role in the passing game as soon as he is able to suit up. Even if he does well in practice, it would be way too risky to start him in fantasy lineups in Week 4, but he is currently available in about 80% of fantasy leagues and should be added as a bench piece by teams with shallow wide receiving depth.

  • Alshon Jeffery Ruled Out This Week

Philadelphia Eagles head coach Doug Pederson said that wide receiver Alshon Jeffery (foot) has been ruled out for Week 3 against the Bengals. Jeffery has yet to play this season but is trending upwards and has a chance to make his 2020 debut within the next few weeks, barring some sort of setback. The Eagles need him back, too, as they put rookie first-round receiver Jalen Reagor (thumb) on Injured Reserve this week. DeSean Jackson, Greg Ward Jr. and J.J. Arcega-Whiteside should operate in three-receiver sets moving forward, with D-Jax being the only real fantasy option in standard-sized leagues as more of a boom/bust WR3/flex for fantasy managers. Philly should continue to target tight ends Zach Ertz and Dallas Goedert heavily as well.

Sep 25 · Source via Eagles Alshon Jeffery
  • Alshon Jeffery May Practice Thursday

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Alshon Jeffery (foot) is on the practice field on Thursday with a helmet and looks to be ready to get some practice work in. Everything is pointing to Jeffery being ready to make his 2020 season debut within the next few weeks after he underwent surgery for a foot sprain last December. It will be much-needed for a struggling Philly offense that just placed rookie first-rounder Jalen Reagor (thumb) on Injured Reserve. J.J. Arcega-Whiteside, Greg Ward and rookie John Hightower should see more playing time until both Jeffery and Reagor return, but DeSean Jackson is the only viable fantasy play in Week 3 against the Bengals as a boom/bust WR3/flex. Although the 30-year-old Jeffery has a much lower ceiling these days, he may be worth stashing if you have the room and are hurting at the receiver position.

  • Alshon Jeffery Officially Out For Week 1

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Alshon Jeffery (foot) has officially been ruled out for Week 1 against the Washington Football Team. The good news is that Jeffery avoided the Physically Unable to Perform list to begin the year, but he's expected to miss multiple weeks. The 30-year-old has battled injuries and inconsistency for his fantasy managers for what seems like forever at this point, so it's hard to recommend keeping him stashed in shallow leagues right now. With rookie Jalen Reagor (shoulder) expected to play through injury in the season opener, DeSean Jackson is the most attractive fantasy piece in the Eagles passing game against Washington.

  • Eagles Will Keep Alshon Jeffery

Despite reports earlier in the day about it, the Philadelphia Eagles have no intention of trading wide receiver Alshon Jeffery, according to a report by NJ.com. The 30-year-old was activated off the PUP list today, but it still remains unclear when he could return to the field, though it's likely at some point a few weeks after the season starts. General manager Howie Roseman wants to keep the veteran on the team. Jeffery is coming off a down year in which he appeared in 10 games for the Eagles in 2019 and amassed 43 receptions, 490 yards, 11.4 yards per catch, and four touchdowns. He's not fantasy-relevant at the moment, but could be a waiver wire pickup later in the season depending on how much he plays.

  • Alshon Jeffery Could Be Ready To Go After Week 1

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Alshon Jeffery (foot) might miss Week 1, but is expected to be able to return to the lineup soon after that. Rookie Jalen Reagor (shoulder) out for the first month or so, Jeffery could have a more significant role than expected when he is able to return. Jeffery had Lisfranc surgery, so it remains to be seen how well he can move when he gets back on the field. His game has never relied on quickness though, so he may settle into a red zone/chain moving role once he's on the field.
