  • Kyle Pitts Draws Favorable Week 3 Matchup

    Headshot for Kyle Pitts

Atlanta Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts has continued to be disappointing in fantasy football, catching just four passes for 49 yards thus far in 2023. However, the tight end position is scarce and weak overall, so fantasy managers might just want to ride it out with him and hope a boom week comes. His Week 3 matchup, the Detroit Lions, have allowed the third-most fantasy points to tight ends through two weeks. Against the Seattle Seahawks last week, Detroit gave up nine receptions for 99 yards to the trio of Noah Fant, Colby Parkinson, and Will Dissly. Given the juicy matchup, it's too early to lose faith and bench Pitts in Week 3 fantasy lineups.

  • Kyle Pitts Quiet Again In Week 2

    Headshot for Kyle Pitts

Atlanta Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts caught just two passes for 15 yards in the team's 25-24 victory over the Green Bay Packers in Week 2. The former first-round pick saw the least amount of targets (five) among receivers who saw at least one. The second tight end on the depth chart, Jonnu Smith, outperformed Pitts in catches, yards, and targets. If the ex-Florida Gator can't put together a fantasy-relevant performance when Desmond Ridder throws 32 times and Atlanta dominates time of possession, it will be hard to predict when he will this season. It'll be tough to trust Pitts in Week 3 against Detroit despite a plus matchup.

  • Kyle Pitts - Week 2 Outlook for Fantasy Football

    Headshot for Kyle Pitts

Atlanta Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts will look to rebound in Week 2 against the Green Bay Packers following a disappointing performance to open the year. Pitts had just two catches for 44 yards and 6.4 PPR fantasy points in Week 1. The Falcons once again followed a run-heavy game plan last week, which resulted in quarterback Desmond Ridder only throwing 18 pass attempts. Atlanta ran the ball at the second-highest mark in 2022, and that doesn't seem to change for the team this season. Pitts is talented, but the opportunities just aren't there for him. He's a low-end TE1 this week.

  • Kyle Pitts Records Two Catches Sunday

    Headshot for Kyle Pitts

Atlanta Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts finished Sunday's win over the Panthers by recording two catches for 44 yards. The 22-year-old was targeted only three times by Desmond Ridder. However, Ridder didn't do much throwing in this one, logging just 18 attempts. Bijan Robinson and Tyler Allgeier were the primary contributors offensively. While that may not change moving ahead, Pitts remains a must-start in Week 2 against the Green Bay Packers.

  • Kyle Pitts Faces Tough Week 1 Matchup

    Headshot for Kyle Pitts

Atlanta Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts had an awful 2022 season. The former Florida Gator was the TE32, averaging only 6.2 half-point PPR fantasy points per game. While the second-year tight end missed seven games because of injuries, Pitts scored more than 5.9 fantasy points in only three contests. However, the former Gator had his best performance against the Carolina Panthers last year. He had five receptions on nine targets for 80 receiving yards and a touchdown in Week 8, scoring 16.5 fantasy points. Meanwhile, the Panthers held tight ends to only 8.3 fantasy points per game last season, the ninth-fewest in the NFL. While Pitts has significant upside, fantasy players should temper their Week 1 expectations against Carolina.

  • Temper Expectations For Kyle Pitts

    Headshot for Kyle Pitts

The Athletic's Josh Kendall suggests that fantasy managers shouldn't be taking Atlanta Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts high in their drafts, unless you want to live dangerously. Pitts caught 28 passes for 356 yards and two touchdowns last year and had his season cut short due to an MCL tear. Head coach Arthur Smith has hinted that Pitts could be used in more places that don't necessarily lead to passing targets in 2023. Kendall doesn't see the 22-year-old being any higher than fourth on the team in targets this year, and he'll also need to prove he's healthy after last year's surgery. Pitts should still be considered a top-10 fantasy tight end, but his expectations may need to be tempered with quarterback Desmond Ridder, who is entering his first full year as the starter under center.

Winners of seven games in four of the past five seasons, the Falcons have both overachieved talent-wise — during the Arthur Smith years, at least — while largely hovering off the radar. After two clear transition years that brought substantial dead money into the equation, the Falcons’ Smith-Terry Fontenot operation has moved to a point […]
