  • Quez Watkins Unlikely To Repeat His Huge Week 2

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Quez Watkins had an excellent Week 2 but is unlikely to keep that rolling into Week 3. Week 2 saw the Eagles slot receiver gain 117 yards on just two catches, one of which was a 91-yard play that he somehow did not score on. Watkins has seen only five targets through two games, and while he may have earned a spot on some best ball teams after Week 2, there's way too low of a floor without much of a realistic ceiling for him in standard lineup-format fantasy leagues. He should still be on the waiver wire in most leagues.

  • Quez Watkins The Fastest Ball-Carrier In Week 2

Philadelphia Eagles second-year wide receiver Quez Watkins was the fastest ball-carrier in Week 2 and through the first two weeks of the season when he reached 21.62 mph on his 91-yard reception in Week 2 against the San Francisco 49ers. He finished the game with just two catches for 117 yards, but he's caught all five of his targets through two weeks for 140 yards for a league-high 28 yards per reception. Watkins' snap percentage (48.8) is behind that of both rookie DeVonta Smith and Jalen Reagor, but the sixth-rounder in 2020 has big-play ability because of his speed despite not making his NFL debut until Week 14 last year. He's one to watch in deeper leagues.

  • Quez Watkins Not A Strong Week 2 Starter

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Quez Watkins is not a great option in Week 2 fantasy starting lineups. Watkins clearly operated as the team's slot receiver in Week 1, seeing three targets and catching all three for 23 yards. There were some designed plays for him in the first quarter, but then he more or less disappeared for the remainder of the game. Part of that was game script, as the Eagles didn't need to throw the ball at all in the second half. Still, DeVonta Smith, Dallas Goedert, and Jalen Reagor will make up most of the Philly passing attack this season. Against a much tougher San Francisco 49ers defense, Watkins shapes up as a WR5/6 option at best.

  • Quez Watkins Catches Three Passes In Week 1

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Quez Watkins caught three passes in a Week 1 win against the Atlanta Falcons. Watkins was targeted three times, catching all of them for 23 yards. He worked as the slot receiver, with Greg Ward not appearing in the box score at all. Watkins was hyped all of training camp and preseason as a breakout candidate, and while he was certainly on the field more than he had been in any game last season, DeVonta Smith and Jalen Reagor worked way ahead of him as pass catchers in the Eagles offense. Watkins could have some occasional big games, but unless the Eagles start targeting their slot receiver more often, he won't put up consistent enough numbers to be worth starting in most formats.
