  • Trevor Penning Expected To Come Off IR This Weekend

New Orleans Saints rookie first-round offensive tackle Trevor Penning (toe) is expected to be activated from Injured Reserve this weekend ahead of the Week 12 game against the San Francisco 49ers, according to sources. The 19th overall pick in this year's draft underwent toe surgery and has yet to make his NFL debut. It should come this Sunday against a stout Niners defensive line, which is good news for the Saints offense. Before his injury, the 6-foot-7 tackle was expected to play a significant role on the O-line right away, so he should play meaningful offensive snaps the rest of the way for the Saints.

  • Alvin Kamara Misses Thursday's Practice

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara (illness) didn't suit up for Thursday's practice. The 27-year-old is dealing with a non-COVID related illness. Fantasy managers shouldn't be too concerned. This is likely more of a rest day than anything else for Kamara. Fantasy managers should expect Kamara to suit up against the San Francisco 49ers. The star back has failed to score in three straight games. He should be considered a low-end RB2 for this upcoming matchup.

  • Marshon Lattimore Back At Practice

New Orleans Saints cornerback Marshon Lattimore (abdomen), who has been dealing with a lacerated kidney and other issues, returned to practice on Wednesday. Lattimore hasn't played for the Saints since Week 5, so he's not guaranteed to return to the field this Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers, but it's good news that he's back at practice. The Saints defense could surely use the 26-year-old to help slow a 49ers offense that looked unstoppable in their win over the Arizona Cardinals on Monday night. The four-time Pro Bowler had 15 tackles (10 solo) and two passes defensed in five starts before his injury in Week 5.

  • Cameron Jordan To Miss Week 11

New Orleans Saints defensive end Cameron Jordan (eye) won't suit up for the Week 11 matchup against the Los Angeles Rams. The 33-year-old will miss his first game of his career on Sunday. Jordan played in 186 straight games before suffering an orbital bone fracture. His presence will be missed on this defensive unit on Sunday. However, Jordan is already pushing to play next week. The loss of the Pro Bowl pass rusher will certainly be a significant hit to the Saints defense.

  • David Johnson Signed To Active Roster

The New Orleans Saints have promoted veteran running back David Johnson from the practice squad to their active roster ahead of Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Rams. The 30-year-old will fill a depth role with Mark Ingram II (knee) sidelined once again this week. Johnson hasn't played an NFL down since 2021 with Houston. Through 13 games last year, he totaled 228 rushing yards, 225 receiving yards, and one touchdown. He should be left on waivers in all fantasy leagues.

  • Mark Ingram II Ruled Out For Week 11

New Orleans Saints running back Mark Ingram II (knee) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against Los Angeles Rams. He will miss his third consecutive game due to an MCL sprain. The 32-year-old was unable to practice this week and ultimately ruled out for Week 11. His next chance to return will be Week 12 against the San Francisco 49ers. The veteran back has 196 yards on 51 attempts and a touchdown while catching 11 passes for 46 yards over eight games in 2022. Dwayne Washington will serve as Alvin Kamara's top backup on Sunday.

  • Mark Ingram II Absent Again On Thursday

New Orleans Saints running back Mark Ingram II (knee) did not practice on Thursday. He has now missed back-to-back practices due to an MCL sprain. The 32-year-old hasn't practiced since suffering an MCL sprain in Week 8 against the Las Vegas Raiders. He will have one more chance to practice to have a chance of suiting up against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 11. The veteran back has 196 yards on 51 attempts and a touchdown while catching 11 passes for 46 yards over eight games in 2022. Dwayne Washington will serve as Alvin Kamara's top backup against the Rams if Ingram is ruled out in Week 11.

  • Wil Lutz A Low-End Streamer In Week 11

New Orleans Saints kicker Wil Lutz went 1-for-1 on extra points and drilled his lone field-goal attempt from 44 yards out a week ago against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Saints have struggled to score of late, and the matchup against the Rams this week projects to be a low-scoring game. Lutz is a low-end streaming candidate for Week 11, given that the Saints may struggle to find the end zone and could call upon Lutz to attempt field goals.

  • Leave Taysom Hill On The Bench In Week 11

New Orleans Saints tight end Taysom Hill was a fun fantasy play for a few weeks, but he has only touched the ball four times in the last two games combined. His role in the offense seems to be diminishing, as the Saints often are playing from behind. Hill can be left on the bench this week in what is projected to be a low-scoring defensive battle between the Los Angeles Rams and the New Orleans Saints.

  • Juwan Johnson A Low-End TE1 In Week 11

New Orleans Saints tight end Juwan Johnson has found the end zone four times in the last four games. With the tight end position being the thinnest in fantasy, he is a low-end TE1 in Week 11 against the Los Angeles Rams. Johnson paced the team in targets a week ago with seven and appears to be developing some chemistry with quarterback Andy Dalton, who will be under center again this week.

Nov 17 · Source via Saints Juwan Johnson
  • Jarvis Landry Best Left On Benches In Week 11

New Orleans Saints veteran wide receiver Jarvis Landry returned to action last week and caught three passes for 37 yards on six targets. The 29-year-old should be left on the bench this week, as Sunday's tilt with the Los Angeles Rams figures to be a low-scoring affair between two solid defenses and struggling offenses. Landry can be monitored going forward, but he should not be in fantasy lineups unless you're desperate at the position.

  • Chris Olave A WR2 In Week 11

With wide receiver Jarvis Landry being active for the first time since Week 4 last week, New Orleans Saints rookie wide receiver Chris Olave was only targeted five times, which marked his lowest target total since Week 1. Olave had been the go-to target in the offense with Landry and Michael Thomas (toe) missing time, and although Landry outpaced him last week, this development will unlikely remain consistent. Fire up Olave in starting lineups as a WR2 this week and hope that he can get something going against the Rams' 12th-ranked pass defense.

  • Alvin Kamara A Middling RB2 Option In Week 11

Three weeks ago, New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara erupted on 27 total touches for 158 yards and three touchdowns. In the two games since then, he has touched the ball a total of 23 times for 111 yards and no scores, disappointing his fantasy managers. Kamara is a midrange RB2 option this week against a Rams defense sitting 29th in rushing yards allowed per game. Expect a defensive battle with another potential disappointing outing from Kamara in this Saints lackluster offense led by quarterback Andy Dalton.

  • Andy Dalton Not A Viable Option In Week 11

Despite whispers of a potential quarterback change, New Orleans Saints head coach Dennis Allen stated that quarterback Andy Dalton will remain under center this week against the Los Angeles Rams. Dalton has been starting for the 3-7 Saints since Week 4 and has gone 141-for-217 for 1,559 yards with 11 touchdowns and seven interceptions. Dalton has struggled of late to string together fantasy-relevant performances and is best left on the waiver wire this week in single-QB leagues.

  • Saints Defense A Streaming Option In Week 11

The New Orleans Saints defense has been surprisingly poor this season, but they have shown boom potential. Just three weeks ago, they shut out the Las Vegas Raiders. With this week's game being at home against a struggling Los Angeles Rams team that just lost the face of their offense in wide receiver Cooper Kupp (ankle), the Saints defense/special teams can be fired up as a solid streaming option in Week 11, even with quarterback Matthew Stafford (concussion) expected to return from a one-game absence.

  • Jarvis Landry Limited During Thursday's Practice

New Orleans Saints wide receiver Jarvis Landry (ankle) remained limited during Thursday's practice session. It sounds like the Saints are managing his workload after Landry returned to the field last week. The expectation is that Landry is going to be fine heading into Week 11. However, he posted a dud with three receptions for 37 yards in his return last week. At this point, Landry should be considered a WR4 for the upcoming matchup against the Los Angeles Rams.

  • Mark Ingram II Still Not Practicing Wednesday

New Orleans Saints running back Mark Ingram II (knee) didn't practice Wednesday. He missed the last two games due to an MCL sprain and is trending in the wrong direction for Sunday's game against the Rams. The 32-year-old has 196 yards on 51 attempts and a touchdown while catching 11 passes for 46 yards over eight games in 2022. Dwayne Washington will serve as Alvin Kamara's top backup against the Los Angeles Rams if Ingram is ruled out in Week 11.

  • Saints Sticking With Andy Dalton At QB

New Orleans Saints head coach Dennis Allen said that the team will stick with Andy Dalton as the starting quarterback in Week 11 against the Los Angeles Rams. Allen said the team evaluated the position this week and discussed it with both Dalton and Jameis Winston. Dalton has been the starter since Week 4 with Winston dealing with ankle and back injuries, so it's possible the decision was made this week because Winston isn't healthy enough to return. The Saints are 2-5 with Dalton under center, and he looked bad in the Week 10 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, throwing for 174 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions. The 35-year-old Red Rifle can't be trusted as anything more than a low-end QB2 in superflex leagues this Sunday against the Rams.

  • Latest On Saints' QB Situation

The Saints had recently entertained the notion of making a quarterback change for the second time this season, but that move will be delayed for at least one more week. • Saints To Add RB David Johnson

Five months after visiting the Saints, David Johnson reached an agreement with the team. The former All-Pro running back will join New Orleans’ practice squad Wednesday, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com tweets. This move comes shortly after the Saints released Jordan Howard and Derrick Gore from their 16-man P-squad. Johnson, 30, met with the team in […]

  • Saints Cut Jordan Howard, Derrick Gore

The New Orleans Saints cut running backs Jordan Howard and Derrick Gore from their roster on Tuesday. The team has been without veteran Mark Ingram II for the past two games, so these transactions could indicate he is close to returning. Ingram was expected to miss three to four weeks from the injury he suffered on October 30th, meaning he's nearing the earlier part of that timeline. Neither Howard nor Gore has made an impact this season. Howard has only one carry for one yard, while Gore has yet to touch the ball in 2022. Fantasy managers could look to stash Ingram II in case anything happens to Alvin Kamara down the stretch.

  • Saints Defense Picks Up Six Sacks In Week 10

The New Orleans Saints defense played well in a 20-10 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 10. Despite the Saints allowing Pittsburgh to gain 379 total yards of offense, they did manage to sack Kenny Pickett six times in the contest. The Saints defense has been hot of late, having 12 sacks over their past three games. New Orleans will draw a plus matchup in Week 11 against a Los Angeles Rams team that is likely to be without Cooper Kupp.

  • Wil Lutz Hits 44-Yard Field Goal In Week 10

New Orleans Saints kicker Wil Lutz hit his lone field goal, a 44-yarder, and tacked on an extra point in a 20-10 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 10. Lutz drilled his 15th field goal of the season in the second quarter to tie the game at 10-10. The veteran kicker has made 15 of his 20 field goals and all 21 of his extra points through 10 games in 2022. Lutz will be back at it in Week 11 against the Los Angeles Rams.

  • Taysom Hill Quiet In Week 10 Loss

New Orleans Saints tight end Taysom Hill turned in a quiet performance in a 20-10 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 10. Hill rushed three times for one yard and failed to connect on his lone pass attempt in the loss to the Steelers. The slow performance goes into the books as Hill's worst fantasy outing of the season as he finished with just 0.10 points. Hill had a nice stretch of games earlier in the season, punctuated by a four-touchdown game back in Week 5, but the veteran gadget player is fading into irrelevance in fantasy of late. He will look to get back on track in Week 11 against the Los Angeles Rams.

  • Jameis Winston To Take Over For Andy Dalton?

New Orleans Saints head coach Dennis Allen said he has not made a decision at quarterback yet for Week 11 against the Los Angeles Rams, but it sounds as though Jameis Winston (ankle, back) is a possibility to take over for the struggling Andy Dalton. Allen said he'll sit down and visit with Winston and talk with the medical staff, but the Saints have to do what gives the team the best chance to win. Dalton has started for the team since Week 4 and has just two wins while completing 65 percent of his 217 pass attempts for 1,559 yards, 11 touchdowns and seven interceptions. The Red Rifle went just 17-for-27 for 174 yards, one TD and two picks in the Week 10 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Dalton has been under 200 yards passing in three of his seven starts. Winston may not be a huge upgrade under center for New Orleans, but it sounds like they might be ready to make a chance if Winston is healthy.

  • Chris Olave Totals 40 Yards In Loss

New Orleans Saints wide receiver Chris Olave posted just 40 yards on three receptions in the loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. His Week 10 performance marked the lowest receiving yardage of his rookie season and tied for his lowest reception total. It was a disastrous day for Andy Dalton and the Saints' offense as tight end Juwan Johnson was the only player to achieve decent fantasy success in the 20-10 loss. Olave remains a high-end flex option as he's operated as the No. 1 wide receiver without Michael Thomas (toe) in the lineup.

  • Jarvis Landry Leads Saints Wideouts In Targets

New Orleans Saints wide receiver Jarvis Landry finally returned from an ankle injury in Week 10 and led the Saints wide receivers with six targets. He only caught three of them for 37 yards and posted a fantasy dud, but he could have some deep league PPR value with Michael Thomas (toe) likely out of the season. It was a brutal performance all around for the Saints' offense, but if it can get back on track, Landry could be the No. 2 option in the passing game behind rookie Chris Olave moving forward.

  • Juwan Johnson Scores In Second Straight Game

New Orleans Saints tight end Juwan Johnson not only led the team in receiving in the 20-10 Week 10 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, but he found the end zone for the second straight game. Johnson finished with five catches on a team-high seven targets for 44 yards and the touchdown, his fourth of the season. The 26-year-old has now scored all four of his TDs in the last four games, going for two scores in Week 7. He's become a favorite of quarterback Andy Dalton and has taken advantage of receiver Michael Thomas' (toe) absence in the offense. New Orleans' offense isn't a juggernaut by any means, but Johnson has gone over 40 receiving yards in three of his last five games and has put himself on the low-end TE1/high-end TE2 borderline on a weekly basis.

  • Alvin Kamara Has Another Horrendous Showing In Week 10

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara finished with only 26 yards off eight carries during the loss to Pittsburgh on Sunday. He also added three receptions for 19 yards. Since Kamara's three-touchdown performance against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 8, he has fizzled over the last two games. Head coach Dennis Allen acknowledged postgame the need for improvement moving ahead, although it's yet to be seen if that means getting his star running back more involved. While the 27-year-old has a massive ceiling from week to week, nobody would blame any fantasy manager for holding him out for the Week 11 meeting with the Los Angeles Rams based on his subpar play recently.

  • Andy Dalton Struggles In Week 10

New Orleans Saints quarterback Andy Dalton threw for 174 yards and a touchdown off 17-for-27 passing during the loss to Pittsburgh on Sunday. The signal-caller also had two interceptions, bringing his total to six in the last four games. With New Orleans now sitting on a 3-7 record, head coach Dennis Allen acknowledged the need for improvement in several areas. However, Allen declined to comment when asked if that meant benching Dalton in favor of Jameis Winston. Nonetheless, if Dalton remains under center in Week 11 against the struggling Rams, he'll stay classified as a risky fantasy option. Yet, if he doesn't, managers can drop him without thinking twice about it.

After leaving Monday night’s loss to the Ravens with a calf injury, Saints starting center Erik McCoy was placed on injured reserve yesterday. • Marquez Callaway, Marcus Maye Inactive Sunday

New Orleans Saints wide receiver Marquez Callaway is a healthy scratch for Week 10 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Safety Marcus Maye (abdomen) is also inactive. Callaway has amassed 15 catches for 152 yards and one touchdown this season. However, with Jarvis Landry (ankle) back in the fold, there is evidently no role for Callaway this week.

  • Mark Ingram II Out Again In Week 10

New Orleans Saints running back Mark Ingram II (knee) missed practice all week and has officially been ruled out for Week 10 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Ingram suffered an MCL sprain on Oct. 30 and was expected to miss three to four weeks, so his status doesn't come as much of a surprise this weekend. The 32-year-old veteran back is pretty much only a handcuff option for fantasy managers that have Alvin Kamara rostered. In eight games played, Ingram has 51 carries for 196 yards (3.8 yards per carry) and one touchdown, adding 11 receptions (12 targets) for 46 additional yards. Dwayne Washington is expected to serve as Kamara's backup this weekend against the Steelers, but he has no standalone fantasy value.

  • Jarvis Landry Will Return In Week 10

New Orleans Saints wide receiver Jarvis Landry (ankle) was limited in practice all week and was removed from the final injury report on Friday, meaning he will play in Week 10 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. It will be Landry's first game since Week 4, but the fact that he still didn't practice in full this week suggests that the Saints could cap his snaps in his return after a long layoff. The 29-year-old veteran slot man mostly works out of the slot, so his return will be bad news for Tre'Quan Smith, who had been seeing an elevated role in the offense with Landry out since Week 4. Rookie first-rounder Chris Olave should continue to be quarterback Andy Dalton's top target through the air. Landry deserves to be stashed in deeper PPR leagues, but he'll be nothing more than a shaky WR4/flex in his first game back in Week 10.
