  • Matthew Stafford Showing No Signs Of Injury

Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford (elbow) threw during practice today and did not appear to be impacted by his injury, according to Sarah Barshop of ESPN. Head coach Sean McVay echoed that sentiment, saying, "I don't think you would know that anything was going on. I know that I'm going to sleep better tonight." Stafford's ailment was previously described as "unusual" for a quarterback, so it's refreshing to see that he has looked normal when taking reps. The 34-year-old has dealt with elbow issues in the past, but it hasn't slowed him down too much. Last season, he totaled 404 completions, 4,886 yards, 41 touchdowns, and 17 interceptions en route to finishing as the QB5 in his first year with the Rams. He owns an ADP of 129 heading into fantasy drafts.

  • Matthew Stafford's Elbow Is "A Tricky Deal"

Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford's elbow issue isn't being called "tendinitis," but instead it's been described as "a tricky deal" and "abnormal for a QB", moreso "things that MLB pitchers deal with." The team is learning more about his injury "on the fly." Stafford looked great in limited repetitions on Thursday, but he's not expected to take part in team drills until the Rams are back in their regular facilities next week. It's not a new issue for the 34-year-old veteran, who dealt with elbow issues last year and had an anti-inflammatory injection in his arm in the spring while sitting out organized team activities. Stafford is still expected to be ready for Week 1 of the regular season, and he'll be a low-end QB1 for fantasy purposes.

  • Matthew Stafford Not Participating In Team Drills

Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford (elbow) is dealing with a right elbow issue and isn't expected to throw in team drills for the next couple of practices in training camp. The elbow issues cropped up in the spring, and it's being described as bad tendinitis. Stafford received a platelet-rich plasma injection in his elbow earlier this offseason to try and manage the injury, but his arm hasn't gotten to a place where he needs it to be just yet. In the long term, everyone in LA believes that the 34-year-old veteran signal-caller will be fine as he and the Rams look to defend their Super Bowl title in 2022. Stafford remains a low-end QB2 in fantasy, but if he were to miss any time in the regular season, his receiving targets would suffer a big downgrade.

  • Van Jefferson Has Realistic Chance To Return For Week 1

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Van Jefferson (knee) has a realistic chance to be ready to return for Week 1 after a successful surgery. The 26-year-old recently underwent surgery and it reportedly went great. He's not expected to need much time in order to get back up to speed. Jefferson isn't a lock to play in Week 1, but he certainly seems to be doing well. It's worth noting that this was a minor procedure, so Jefferson won't have a long rehab process ahead of him. Ben Skowronek and Tutu Atwell are candidates to see more snaps until Jefferson returns to the field. Fantasy managers should consider Jefferson a late-round option on draft day.

  • Cam Akers, Darrell Henderson Jr. Splitting Reps Evenly

Los Angeles Rams running backs Cam Akers and Darrell Henderson Jr., the team's two most veteran running backs, have been splitting first-team snaps pretty evenly so far in training camp. So far, both of them look explosive and healthy, and they're are also clearly going to be a factor in the passing game. "I look at it as we've got two starting backs," head coach Sean McVay said. "Those guys are great complements (to) one another, but I see them as both starting-caliber players." Henderson has suffered a variety of injuries the last few years, and Akers returned late last year from an Achilles tear. Akers looks to have bulked up in a positive way, which should make him a more dangerous runner. Akers should be the primary back, but at his current ADP as an RB2, he'll be a bit risky if Henderson stays healthy and steals valuable touches from him.

  • Matthew Stafford Still Dealing With Elbow Pain

Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay said on Monday that quarterback Matthew Stafford (elbow) is still dealing with elbow discomfort, so the team has scaled back his workload in training camp. Stafford was held out of spring workouts due to an elbow issue, and the Rams continue to manage how much work he gets in the ramp-up to the 2022 regular season. His elbow required an anti-inflammatory shot at one point in the offseason, and the Rams are trying to prevent the discomfort from becoming a bigger concern. Stafford has played through a myriad of injuries in his career, but the Rams see no point in pushing him too hard now while compromising his health during the season. The 34-year-old Super Bowl champion should be fine for Week 1, but this is certainly worth watching. In fantasy, he'll be a low-end QB1.

Tristan H. Cockcroft examines the biggest threats to unseat Cooper Kupp as WR1 in fantasy this season.

  • Van Jefferson To Miss A Few Weeks

Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay said that wide receiver Van Jefferson (knee) will miss "a few weeks" since he needs to undergo knee surgery. Apparently, Jefferson was advised to have surgery after meeting with a specialist on Monday regarding a lingering knee issue. He already had a minor procedure on the same knee earlier this offseason, so this isn't a great sign. With Jefferson missing training camp time over the next few weeks, it'll give Ben Skowronek and Tutu Atwell a chance to stand out in the receiver corps behind Cooper Kupp and Allen Robinson II. Jefferson finished his second NFL season with 50 catches on 89 targets for 802 yards and six touchdowns in 17 regular season games, and he'll be worth a late-round flier in deeper leagues for WR depth if he's ready to go for the start of the regular season.

  • Tyler Higbee Practicing At Training Camp

Los Angeles Rams tight end Tyler Higbee (knee) is taking part in training camp practices after missing the Super Bowl win over the Cincinnati Bengals with an MCL injury. Barring any setbacks this summer, Higbee will return as the team's top pass-catching tight end after going for 61 catches (85 targets), 560 yards and a career-high-tying five touchdowns in 15 regular season starts in his sixth season with the Rams in 2021. Although new receiver Allen Robinson II will take valuable targets away from Higbee, he should remain fantasy relevant as a high-end TE2 with streaming value, depending on the matchups.

  • Matthew Stafford Resumes Throwing in Training Camp

The Super Bowl champions have been exercising caution with their star quarterback Matthew Stafford (elbow), keeping him sidelined thus far, at least from completing passes, thus far. That all changed when training camp opened as Stafford has resumed throwing passes, while attempting to establish a connection with newly signed receiver Allen Robinson. Stafford did not report any pain or re-injury and appears on the path to a healthy season. After posting 4,886 yards and 41 touchdowns last season, Stafford will again be an excellent fantasy option at the position, although his limited rushing will keep him outside the top-5. He's likely to finish in the QB8-12 range.

  • Latest On Aaron Donald's Playing Future

Among the many moves made this offseason by the Rams was a re-working of Aaron Donald‘s contract. No new years were added to his existing pact, but the future Hall of Famer received a record-setting raise in the process.  That provided more clarity on Donald’s immediate playing future – something which was in question especially after […]

  • Van Jefferson To See Specialist For His Knee

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Van Jefferson (knee) will visit with a specialist on Monday for a knee issue that has been bothering him in training camp, according to a source. He's been doing maintenance and faces the possibility of missing a few weeks. Jefferson will have more information after his appointment with a specialist, including whether he'll need surgery. The 26-year-old already had a minor knee surgery in the offseason, so this isn't ideal news for him. Jefferson is set to open the year as the No. 3 receiver behind Cooper Kupp and Allen Robinson II, but that's now in jeopardy. If he's not ready to begin the start of the regular season, Ben Skowronek and Tutu Atwell would be battling for snaps as the No. 3.

  • Rams Part Ways With Xavier Jones

Running back Xavier Jones (ankle) was waived by the Rams on Friday. The 24-year-old signed with L.A. as an undrafted free agent in May 2020 and appeared in 13 games that season, mainly as a member of the special teams unit. However, he missed the 2021-22 campaign due to an ankle injury. Jones has a good chance of finding a new home in the near future if he proves he's healthy. Even then, he's a long way away from having any fantasy value.

  • Trey Ragas Signs With The Rams

Free-agent running back Trey Ragas inked a deal with the Rams on Friday. The 25-year-old began his career with the Raiders last season as an undrafted rookie, spending time on the active roster and practice squad. Despite the addition, Cam Akers and Darrell Henderson Jr. remain forecasted to receive most of the carries throughout the 2022-23 campaign. As a result, even if Ragas is on the active roster come Week 1, he'll have to contend with rookie Kyren Williams (foot) and Jake Funk for the residual snaps out of the backfield, leaving him without any fantasy value.

  • Jacob Harris Making The Move To Receiver

Los Angeles Rams tight end Jacob Harris (knee) is making the transition from tight end to wide receiver in training camp this year after recovering from a torn ACL and MCL. Harris was drafted with a hybrid designation and spent his rookie year with the tight ends. The fourth-rounder is 6-foot-6 with a massive frame and wingspan. "That's one of the reasons he's here, he's a weapon," receivers coach Eric Yarber said. "You can't teach speed and size." The 25-year-old played just 15 offensive snaps in nine games for the Rams this year and remains a raw offensive weapon for the Rams, leaving him well off the fantasy radar for now.

  • Rams In Love With Allen Robinson II

The Los Angeles Rams coaching staff is in love with wide receiver Allen Robinson II. They love his approach in meetings to what he can give them in this offense. His route tree and where he can line up are more varied than they would have hoped. The bottom line is that Robinson could be in for a monster year in his first season in LA, especially now that Robert Woods and Odell Beckham Jr. (knee) are gone. Cooper Kupp, who finished as the WR1 in fantasy in 2021, is still top dog, but A-Rob has a real chance to make his fantasy managers happy this year now that he's out of Chicago. At his current low-end WR2/high-end WR3 price, Robinson has value pick written all over him.

  • Rams To Manage Matthew Stafford's Reps At Camp

Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford (elbow) required an anti-inflammatory shot at one point in the offseason, but he has resumed throwing now that training camp has gotten underway. Head coach Sean McVay said that there's a "pitch count" for Stafford, but that "it didn't restrict him from being able to do anything (on Sunday" for the start of camp. Stafford's elbow has been a problem recently, but there's no reason to think it will be a lingering problem heading into the 2022 season. The 34-year-old veteran has made a career out of playing through and managing issues, so he should be just fine, but obviously the Rams and fantasy managers would prefer to avoid any elbow issues. It's just something to monitor for now, but it shouldn't detract anyone from taking him as a low-end QB1 in fantasy drafts.

  • No PUP List For Jalen Ramsey

Los Angeles Rams cornerback Jalen Ramsey (shoulders) will not go on the PUP list, according to head coach Sean McVay. It was reported he was heading in that direction initially after undergoing offseason surgery to repair tears in both shoulders. However, he will now participate in training camp, albeit in a limited fashion. The 27-year-old finished last regular season by totaling 77 tackles and four interceptions, the highest marks of his career, while adding 16 passes defensed. He's one of the top IDP options, so missing a few games in 2022-23 shouldn't impact his fantasy stock. Yet, anything more, and he'll surely slide.

  • Rams Bring Back Luis Perez

Quarterback Luis Perez signed with the Rams on Saturday. This will be his second stop in L.A. after joining the team as an undrafted free agent in 2018, spending some time with the practice squad. Since then, he had stops in the Alliance of American Football and XFL before most recently suiting up for the New Jersey Generals of the USFL. Nonetheless, whether or not Perez makes the Rams' Week 1 roster won't mean much for fantasy managers.

  • Travin Howard To Have Core Muscle Surgery

Los Angeles Rams linebacker Travin Howard (groin) was placed on the PUP list. The 26-year-old is heading to Philadelphia to have core muscle surgery, although he has a "solid" chance of being ready for Week 1. Howard re-signed with the team back in June after finishing last year with 21 tackles (11 solo) throughout 12 games. While it would be good for L.A. to have him available for the regular season, his presence, one way or another, won't mean much for fantasy managers. However, that may change if he receives consistent time with the starting unit.

  • Van Jefferson Had Knee Procedure This Offseason

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Van Jefferson (knee) stated he played through a knee injury at the end of last season. As a result, he had a minor procedure to clean things up during the offseason. However, after rehabbing throughout the spring, the 25-year-old was labeled "100% healthy." Jefferson had a quality season in 2021, finishing with 50 receptions for 802 yards and six touchdowns while maintaining an average of 16.0 yards per catch. Although Allen Robinson II is now on the roster, Jefferson should have flashes of production in 2022-23. He probably won't be a week-to-week fantasy threat. Yet, the former Gator is worth a look in deep formats as he remains one of the best downfield menaces in the league.

The Rams have placed four players on the physically unable to perform list. Ramsey played all of last season with tears in both shoulders, leading to an offseason operation. It’s […]
