  • Darnell Savage Suffers Hamstring Injury

Green Bay Packers starting safety Darnell Savage (hamstring) suffered a hamstring injury during the team's traditional "Family Night" practice at Lambeau Field on Friday. The former first-round pick in 2019 said he doesn't "think it's a concern." "It's a fast-people injury. Some of those things you can't avoid. I'll just handle it the right way and listen to those guys back there and I'll be all right." The 25-year-old finished his third NFL season in 2021 with 63 tackles (48 solo), two interceptions and nine passes defensed in 17 regular season starts. The Packers defense is a strong suit for them heading into the 2022 season, and they might have their best defensive unit since they won the Super Bowl in 2010.

  • Romeo Doubs Could Have Increased Role

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Romeo Doubs has reportedly been impressing the organization. Peter King believes the fourth-round rookie is going to have a prominent role early in Green Bay. That could be true given the fact that Aaron Rodgers said Doubs has shined in training camp. Doubs is currently getting first-team reps and it sounds like he's making the most of his opportunities. He could be a decent late-round target given the fact Green Bay doesn't have many impact receivers.

  • Romeo Doubs Impressing Aaron Rodgers

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers typically doesn't gush over rookie wide receivers, but Romeo Doubs has made quite the impression on the veteran QB during training camp so far this summer. Rodgers said he likes Doubs' approach and that he's very humble. The 22-year-old is getting a lot of opportunities to show his stuff with veteran Sammy Watkins (hamstring) and fellow rookie Christian Watson (knee) sidelined with injuries. Rodgers said that Doubs has made some mental mistakes, which should be expected, but he's also had at least one "wow" play in every practice. It's high praise for the rookie, who could open his first NFL season with a substantial role in the offense behind Allen Lazard and Randall Cobb with Davante Adams now in Las Vegas.

  • Aaron Jones, AJ Dillon Not Expected To Play In Preseason Opener

Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur said that he doesn't expect running backs Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon to play in the team's first preseason game against the San Francisco 49ers on Friday, Aug. 12. And with Patrick Taylor dinged up in training camp, it will present a big opportunity for Iowa undrafted free-agent running back Tyler Goodson. A lot of teams will be resting their stars in the first preseason game, so fantasy managers shouldn't read anything into it. Dillon ate into more of Jones' workload toward the end of last season and should remain heavily involved on the ground again in 2022, but Jones could see more targets through the air with All-Pro receiver Davante Adams now in Las Vegas. Jones should remain a top-10 fantasy RB target in fantasy drafts, while Dillon should be considered a low-end RB2/high-end RB3 with upside.

  • Christian Watson Won't Be Rushed Back

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson (knee) doesn't have a return date. However, while general manager Brian Gutekunst reported that he isn't "overly concerned" with the rookie missing time during training camp, the team won't rush him back either. After totaling 43 catches for 801 yards and seven touchdowns throughout his final year at North Dakota State, Watson now resides on the PUP list. As a result, there's a good chance he won't make an immediate impact in 2022-23, although there is still plenty of dynasty attractiveness and late-season redraft appeal, assuming he gets healthy enough to take the field.

  • How Allen Lazard will try to fill the shoes of Davante Adams

Filling the void won't be up to just one person, but Lazard will be looked upon to take a major step up in production.

  • Aaron Jones Could See More Targets

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Allen Lazard will be the team's No. 1 receiver with Davante Adams now in Las Vegas, but that doesn't mean Lazard will see 100-plus targets in 2022. ESPN's Rob Demovsky wouldn't be surprised if running back Aaron Jones gets a bigger share of aerial targets after he ranked second on the team in targets last year with 65. The Packers also want to get AJ Dillon on the field more often, so perhaps the team moves Jones around to get him the ball in space more often. Jones is still a top-10 fantasy RB, but Dillon's emergence might have some fantasy managers hesitant to pull the trigger on Jones. The 27-year-old should be more attractive in PPR formats after finishing the 2021 season as the RB13 with 799 rushing yards and four touchdowns on 171 carries, while adding 52 receptions for 391 yards and six more scores.

  • Aaron Rodgers Happy With His Receivers

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers seems to be happy with his group of wide receivers in training camp after the team traded away All-Pro Davante Adams in the offseason. "I like the guys that we got," Rodgers said Saturday. "Obviously not having Davante, who took the lion's share of the targets last year and had an incredible season, there's gonna be the same amount of balls and yards and touchdowns to go around. So now it's a matter of who's going to be in those situations to make those plays." Allen Lazard, who finished with eight touchdowns in 2021, is expected to step into the No. 1 role this year. Rookies Christian Watson (knee), currently on the Physically Unable to Perform list, and Romeo Doubs should also have big roles right away.

  • Romeo Doubs Looks NFL-Ready

Green Bay Packers rookie fourth-round wide receiver Romeo Doubs has looked NFL-ready early in training camp. Doubs was the star of the second practice day when he caught an eight-yard touchdown pass on a fade from quarterback Aaron Rodgers over cornerback Eric Stokes. Winning jump balls is a good way to gain Rodgers' trust, and Doubs also beat veteran linebacker De'Vondre Campbell for another red-zone TD on a drag route. Meanwhile, second-round rookie Christian Watson (knee) sits on the sidelines while recovering from a knee injury. There is opportunity in Green Bay's receiver room with Davante Adams, Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Equanimeous St. Brown all gone, so Doubs will be an interesting player to watch as training camp unfolds.

  • Sammy Watkins Ready To Practice

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Sammy Watkins (hamstring) sounds ready to practice on Friday at training camp, and head coach Matt LaFleur said the plan is to take Watkins off the Non-Football Injury list. It's good news for the 29-year-old veteran pass-catcher as he looks to gain chemistry with quarterback Aaron Rodgers in his first season in Green Bay. There's a lot of opportunity for the Packers receivers in 2022 with Davante Adams, Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Equanimeous St. Brown all gone. Allen Lazard figures to be Rodgers' top target in the passing game, but Watkins has a chance to earn a big role. Until Watkins proves he can stay healthy and produce on a weekly basis, though, most fantasy managers will avoid him in drafts this fall.

  • Packers Not Looking To Add A Veteran Receiver

Green Bay Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst said he's not looking to add a veteran wide receiver at this point in training camp, in part because there's not a lot out there right now and he "really likes the group we have." It's a bit surprising considering both veteran Sammy Watkins and rookie Christian Watson aren't ready to begin practicing in training camp due to minor injuries. Allen Lazard was already considered the team's No. 1 pass-catcher heading into this season with Davante Adams now with the Raiders, and he should be the most consistent fantasy weapon in the Packers' receiving corps in 2022, even if Green Bay did bring in another body.

  • Christian Watson's Injury Isn't Serious

Green Bay Packers rookie wide receiver Christian Watson's (undisclosed) injury isn't considered serious and he's expected to "miss a little bit of time" in training camp, according to general manager Brian Gutekunst. Watson was placed on the Physically Unable to Perform list on Tuesday after having an undisclosed procedure in the offseason. The 23-year-old pass-catcher has plenty of upside in a receiving corps with plenty of opportunity now that Davante Adams is gone, but missed time in training camp for rookies is never a good thing. Watson never caught more than 43 passes in a single season at North Dakota State, so he might need more seasoning than most rookie wideouts, making him a better late-round flier in rookie-only drafts in 2022.

  • Packers LT David Bakhtiari Underwent Offseason Knee Surgery

The Packers continue to wait for their All-Pro left tackle to return to regular duty. They placed David Bakhtiari on the active/PUP list to start training camp, extending this lengthy delay. More potential cause for concern emerged Wednesday. GM Brian Gutekunst¬†indicated Bakhtiari underwent another knee surgery this offseason, via’s Field Yates (on Twitter). Bakhtiari, […]

  • Sammy Watkins Expected Back Sooner Than Later

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Sammy Watkins landed on the Non-Football Injury list this Tuesday. The team hasn't released any info as to why Watkins was placed on the list, but Packers reporter Rob Demovsky stated late on Tuesday that there is no long-term concern for Watkins. The team expects for him to be back on the field sooner rather than later. Watkins is entering his first season with the Packers after he spent one season with the Baltimore Ravens, catching 27 of his 49 targets for 394 yards and a touchdown. He's likely to be one of Aaron Rodgers' primary targets this season, but his long track record of injuries and inconsistency makes him someone to avoid in fantasy drafts this fall.

  • Sammy Watkins Placed On NFI List

The Green Bay Packers placed veteran wide receiver Sammy Watkins on the Non-Football Injury list on Tuesday with an undisclosed ailment. It's not a great sign for an aging receiver looking to establish chemistry with quarterback Aaron Rodgers in his first year with the Cheese Heads. The 29-year-old pass-catcher saw some run with the first-team offense during offseason workouts, but the oft-injured receiver hasn't played in a full season since his rookie year with the Buffalo Bills in 2014. In fact, that was his only fully healthy season in his eight-year career. Watkins caught 27 of 49 targets for 394 yards and one touchdown in 14 games for Baltimore in 2021. There's opportunity in Green Bay's receiver's room in 2022 with Davante Adams now gone, but Watkins is unlikely to be a consistent weekly producer for fantasy managers.

  • Brian Gutekunst, Matt LaFleur Receive Extensions

The Green Bay Packers gave both general manager Brian Gutekunst and head coach Matt LaFleur undisclosed contract extensions this offseason that will keep them within the organization for years to come, according to a league source. Executive vice president and director of football operations Russ Ball also received an extension. With LaFleur at the controls, the Packers have advanced to the NFC Championship twice. It was kind of a no-brainer to extend all three parties, but it's certainly Super Bowl or bust for the organization as long as quarterback Aaron Rodgers is around. That will be even tougher to accomplish in 2022 with All-Pro receiver Davante Adams gone.

  • David Bakhtiari Still Dealing With Knee Injury

Green Bay Packers tackle David Bakhtiari (knee) was placed on the PUP list. With training camp commencing, the veteran isn't 100% after tearing his ACL during practice on New Year's Eve in 2020. He only logged 27 snaps in 2021, the regular season finale, and was subsequently shut down for the playoffs. Nonetheless, the 30-year-old is considered one of the best offensive linemen in the NFL, so if he misses any games in 2022-23, it won't be good news for Aaron Rodgers and company.

  • Packers Place Nine Players On PUP To Start Camp

Sat, 4:07pm: As mentioned as a possibility last night, the Packers made an addition to their PUP list today, placing star left tackle David Bakhtiari on the list after not including him in their first moves last night, according to ESPN’s Field Yates.
