  • Lions Fire Matt Patricia, Bob Quinn

The Detroit Lions fired head coach Matt Patricia and general manager Bob Quinn on Saturday. It comes after the Lions lost to the Texans on Thanksgiving on Thursday by a score of 41-25 to fall to 4-7 on the season and in last place in the NFC North. Patricia's three-year tenure with the team didn't go very well at all, with Detroit becoming the first team to blow four straight double-digit leads in his time with the team. With the moves, the Lions are staring at a rebuild for the first time since they took quarterback Matthew Stafford with the first overall pick in 2009. Quinn arrived in Detroit two years earlier than Patricia. Patricia's defense, which was supposed to be his specialty, really struggled in 2019 and so far in 2020.

  • Mohamed Sanu Catches Touchdown On Turkey Day

Detroit Lions wide receiver Mohamed Sanu caught four passes for 32 yards with one touchdown and a two-point conversion reception in the Lions 41-25 loss to the Texans on Thanksgiving. The veteran got an opportunity with the injury to Kenny Golladay and was able to secure a pass from quarterback Matthew Stafford for a 14-yard touchdown late in the game. Sanu possesses very little fantasy appeal but could siphon touchdowns away from Golladay and tight end T.J. Hockenson in the coming weeks if he continues to see the field.

  • Marvin Jones Jr. Leads Lions With 12 Targets

Detroit Lions wide receiver Marvin Jones Jr. caught six passes for 48 yards in the Lions 41-25 loss to the Texans on Thanksgiving. The veteran led the Lions with 12 targets but the Lions passing offense really struggled after a promising start. Jones Jr. also left the game in the final minutes with an apparent leg injury and the extent is unknown at this time. Jones Jr. deserves a fantasy roster spot in deeper leagues but the return of Kenny Golladay next week and a possible injury could hamper an already middling value moving forward.

  • Kerryon Johnson Posts 98 Total Yards In Loss

Detroit Lions running back Kerryon Johnson carried the ball 11 times for 46 yards and added four receptions for 52 yards in the Lions Thanksgiving loss to the Texans. This was a very active performance for Johnson with starting running back D'Andre Swift missing the game with a concussion. The goal-line carries were given to Adrian Peterson but Johnson was able to make some plays in the passing game. It has been a dormant offensive season for Johnson and will certainly lose touches the second Swift gets back on the field.

  • T.J. Hockenson Leads Lions With 89 Receiving Yards

Detroit Lions tight end T.J. Hockenson caught five passes for a team-high 89 receiving yards in the Lions 41-25 loss to the Texans on Thanksgiving. Hockenson got off to a promising start, coming down with a 51-yard reception. The talented tight end saw eight targets in the game but his production dissipated in the second half with the Lions down multiple scores. The Lions season is going off the rails but Hockenson continues to be a bright spot. He didn't find the end zone but should continue to be one of the main focal points in the passing offense moving forward.

  • Matthew Stafford Disappoints In Thanksgiving Loss

Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford completed 28-of-42 passes for 295 yards, one touchdown and one interception in the Lions 41-25 loss to the Texans on Thanksgiving. The Lions offense simply is not the same without star receiver Kenny Golladay and a strong first half was wasted by stagnant offensive play in the second half. The veteran also was the victim of a fantastic interception by the Texans J.J. Watt, who took it to the house for 19-yard touchdown. Stafford was able to rack up some passing yards with the game out of reach but consistently struggled in the red zone. Stafford will continue to lack QB1 appeal heading into Week 13.

  • Adrian Peterson Gobbles Up Two Touchdowns In Loss

Detroit Lions running back Adrian Peterson carried the ball 15 times for 55 yards with two touchdowns in the Lions 41-25 loss to the Texans on Thanksgiving. Peterson punched in two short-yardage scores before the Texans ran away with the game and led the team in carries. With starting running back D'Andre Swift out with a concussion, the veteran back ran hard but was unable to break off any big gains. Swift's status heading into Week 13 will determine Peterson's fantasy value moving forward.

  • D'Andre Swift Officially Ruled Out

Detroit Lions rookie running back D'Andre Swift (concussion) has officially been ruled out for Thursday's Thanksgiving game against the Texans. It'll be the rookie's second straight missed game and will leave Detroit's backfield to veteran Adrian Peterson and Kerryon Johnson. Peterson started last week against the Panthers and then split touches with Johnson. They weren't effective at all in the shutout loss, though, with Detroit rushing for 40 yards total in the game. Houston's defense has allowed the second-most fantasy points per game to running backs, so the duo should be more effective, but they are both low-ceiling RB4/flex plays in deeper leagues while they share the workload minus Swift.

  • D'Andre Swift Unlikely To Play Thursday

Detroit Lions rookie running back D'Andre Swift (concussion), who was listed as questionable for the Thanksgiving game on Thursday against the Texans, is unlikely to play, according to sources. Swift is set to miss his second straight game with the head injury. Fantasy managers need to remove Swift from their starting lineups for the early Thursday game. Veteran Adrian Peterson started in the backfield last week with Swift out and then split carries with Kerryon Johnson. Peterson is probably the better back of the two for fantasy purposes against, and the Texans Defense has allowed the second-most fantasy points per game to opposing running backs. Even then, Peterson and Johnson should be considered RB4/flex options with a low ceiling in deeper leagues.

  • D'Andre Swift Questionable For Thanksgiving Game

Detroit Lions rookie running back D'Andre Swift (concussion) is listed as questionable for Thursday's Thanksgiving game against the Texans. Swift didn't practice on Monday but was limited on both Tuesday and Wednesday, giving himself a chance to return to action this week after he sat out in Week 11. Consider the 21-year-old a game-time decision for now, but he should operate as the team's lead back if he's active, which would put him in the RB2 conversation against a Texans Defense that has allowed 12 total rushing touchdowns and the second-most fantasy points per game to opposing rushers. If Swift misses another game, Adrian Peterson and Kerryon Johnson would split backfield work and would be unappetizing RB3/flex options in deeper leagues.

  • Kenny Golladay, Danny Amendola Ruled Out Against Texans

Detroit Lions wide receivers Kenny Golladay (hip) and Danny Amendola (hip) and rookie cornerback Jeff Okudah (shoulder) have been ruled out for the Thanksgiving game on Thursday against the Texans. Golladay has been out since Week 8 and will miss his fourth straight game. With both receivers out, Mohamed Sanu was signed to the active roster, where he'll provide depth behind Marvin Jones Jr., Marvin Hall and rookie Quintez Cephus. The Lions passing attack should rely mostly on Jones and tight end T.J. Hockenson against Houston. Jones has 15 catches on 20 targets for 190 yards and two touchdowns in the last three games with Golladay sidelined. He'll be a strong WR2 for fantasy lineups on Thursday.

  • Marvin Jones Jr. Carries WR5 Value Into Week 12

Detroit Lions wide receiver Marvin Jones Jr. will go up against a Texans Defense on Thanksgiving that is giving up the 10th most fantasy points to opposing receivers this season. As of now, the Lions offensive weapons are banged up and the veteran Jones Jr. may be tasked will picking up the slack. The Texans have allowed five 100+-yard receiving games this season and the Lions have health questions currently with Kenny Golladay, Marvin Hall, D'Andre Swift, Danny Amendola and T.J. Hockenson. Jones Jr. is not having an elite season but could surprise, especially in PPR-leagues, to kick off the Thursday slate of games in Week 12.

  • T.J. Hockenson Pops Up On Injury Report

Detroit Lions tight end T.J. Hockenson (shoulder) was limited in practice as the team prepares to take on the Texans to kick off Thanksgiving Thursday. This is a new injury and it very well could be precautionary heading into a short week. But fantasy teams will have to keep an eye on this situation heading into the game as Hockenson has emerged as a solid red zone threat with five touchdowns this season. The Lions will face a Texans Defense that is allowing the 14th fewest fantasy points to opposing tight ends this season and have not allowed 10 or more fantasy points to an opposing tight end since Week 3. Fantasy teams will need to check Hockenson's status heading into the game but, if he is healthy, will be a touchdown-dependent option in Week 12.

Nov 24 · Source via Lions T.J. Hockenson
  • Kenny Golladay Limited In Practice Tuesday

Detroit Lions wide receiver Kenny Golladay (hip) was a limited participant in practice, an improvement heading into the team's matchup against the Texans on Thanksgiving to kick off Week 12. Golladay missed last week's game and has been banged up most of the season. But when he is on the field, the Lions offense ascends to another level. If Golladay suits up, he will face a Texans Defense that is allowing the 10th most fantasy points to opposing receivers. The Texans have allowed seven different receivers to post 79 or more receiving yards against them this season and have been burned for 100+-yard performances by the Jaguars D.J. Chark Jr. and the Patriots Damien Byrd in the past two games. If Golladay plays he can easily be slotted as a WR2 with excellent red zone potential for Week 12. But fantasy teams may need to monitor his status all the way up to game time this week.

  • Adrian Peterson In Line To Step Up In Week 12

Detroit Lions running back Adrian Peterson will prepare to take on a vulnerable Texans Defense on Thanksgiving. With starter D'Andre Swift (concussion) still in league protocol's, Peterson will be the next man up to lead the team's running attack. The veteran and teammate Kerryon Johnson will take on a Texans defense that is allowing the second most fantasy points to opposing backs. Houston have allowed 12 rushing touchdowns and have allowed seven different running backs to post 10 or more fantasy points against them over their last five games. The matchup is fantastic but Peterson simply does not have the speed anymore to make opposing defenses pay. If Swift does not suit up, however, Peterson will see enough volume to justify a fringe fantasy play in Week 12.

Nov 24 · Source via Lions Adrian Peterson
  • D'Andre Swift Still In Concussion Protocol

Detroit Lions rookie running back D'Andre Swift is still in the concussion protocol as the team prepares to play early Thursday morning against the Texans on Thanksgiving. His availability could be a huge blow to a Lions team that is seeing its playoff hopes slip away. Swift has been fantastic over the past few weeks, displaying the type of versatile threat in the passing and running game that earned him praise in training camp. But as of now, the rookie is trending towards not playing, and it would be a shame with a favorable matchup in Week 12. The Texans have allowed the second-most fantasy points to opposing backs this season. Veteran Adrian Peterson will step up once again if Swift misses the game, but Peterson cannot be trusted to post RB2-type numbers despite the favorable tilt. Kerryon Johnson would also continue to mix in.

  • Matthew Stafford Vows To Play Better

Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford will try and step up his game to kick off Week 12 when the team hosts their annual Thanksgiving game against the Texans on Thursday. The veteran passer has been dealing with torn ligaments in his throwing thumb but told reporters, "Obviously, I can play better, I'm the guy that touches the ball on offense every play, so the better I play, the better we'll play as a team," Stafford said. "Just got to be better myself." The Lions season is slipping away but Stafford will face a Texans Defense that is allowing the 14th most fantasy points to opposing passers. Houston has allowed 300+ passing yards to four of the last six quarterbacks they have faced and 12 passing touchdowns in that span. Stafford's fantasy value may be tied to the health and availability of receiver Kenny Golladay, who is trending up towards playing on Thursday. Stafford is a lukewarm fantasy option in DFS for Thursday and not a top-12 option for Week 12.

  • Kenny Golladay A Limited Practice Participant Monday

Detroit Lions wide receiver Kenny Golladay (hip) has been sidelined since Week 8 due to a hip ailment, but despite the quick turnaround ahead of a Week 12 matchup versus Houston, the team's top receiver was listed as a would-be limited practice participant Monday. While he will likely need to log some actual practice time in order to suit up Thursday, his status is beginning to trend in the right direction for potentially facing an exploitable Texans secondary. Golladay has exceeded the 100-yard plateau as a receiver in each of his last two full contests in 2020, making him a must-start asset should he eventually get the green light to suit up. Check back over the coming days to get a better read on his status with the Lions taking the field for practice Tuesday.

  • Marvin Jones Jr. Posts 51 Yards

Detroit Lions wide receiver Marvin Jones Jr. caught four passes for 51 yards in the Lions abysmal 20-0 loss to the Panthers in Week 11. The Lions were able to muster only 185 yards as a team in a game that was dominated by Carolina. The veteran receiver saw six targets in the game but the Lions never got anything going on offense. Quarterback Matthew Stafford is dealing with torn ligaments in his right thumb and fantasy teams will need to monitor who will be starting for Detroit on a short-week heading into the team's Thanksgiving matchup against the Texans.

  • T.J. Hockenson Leads Lions With 68 Receiving Yards

Detroit Lions tight end T.J. Hockenson caught four passes for 68 yards in the Lions 20-0 loss to the Panthers in Week 11. In a game where the Lions offense was abysmal throughout, Hockenson was able to provide a semblance of consistency, leading the team with seven targets and 68 receiving yards. The Lions season is trending in the wrong direction and will now turn around to play on a short-week against the Texans on Thanksgiving. Fantasy teams will need to check the status of quarterback Matthew Stafford's right thumb injury throughout the week to see who will be throwing passes to Hockenson in Week 11.

Nov 22 · Source via Lions T.J. Hockenson
  • Adrian Peterson Musters Only 18 Yards

Detroit Lions running back Adrian Peterson carried the ball seven times for 18 yards in the Lions 20-0 loss to the Panthers in Week 11. The Lions were without ascending talent D'Andre Swift in the backfield due to a concussion and Peterson led the team in touches in the running game. But the Lions offense was abysmal, totaling only 40 team rushing yards, and only 185 total yards of offense as a team. The Lions will now turn around and play on Thanksgiving against the Texans and Swift may not suit up for that game either. Peterson could once again be the featured back in Week 12 but lacks any true fantasy appeal heading into next week.

  • Matthew Stafford Lays An Egg In Carolina

Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford completed 18-of-33 passes for 178 yards in the Lions dreadful 20-0 loss to the Panthers. This performance really stings as Detroit falls to 4-7, ultimately ending any shred of hope for the playoffs. Stafford wore a protective brace over his throwing hand during the game as he is dealing with torn ligaments in his right thumb. The veteran averaged only 5.4 yards per completion and it may be fair to question whether Stafford will play in Week 12 on a short week on Thursday against the Texans.

  • Matthew Stafford Active For Week 11

Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford (thumb) is officially active for Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers. No surprise here, as Stafford was trending towards playing all week. He won't have two of his top pass-catchers in Kenny Golladay and Danny Amendola, so Stafford won't be the safest play, but the Panthers Defense is exploitable and he can be a solid streaming play.

Nov 22 · Source via Lions Matthew Stafford
  • Adrian Peterson To Start, Split Carries With Kerryon Johnson

Detroit Lions running back Adrian Peterson will get the start on Sunday against the Panthers. This had been a smash spot for rookie halfback D'Andre Swift (head), though a late entry to the league's concussion protocol ultimately had him ruled out for the contest. Kerryon Johnson will also factor into the backfield equation, making this a much less appealing situation for fantasy football. However, Peterson can be used as a flex this week against Carolina's bad run defense. The veteran back had some good fantasy weeks when he's received at least 10 carries this year, which is likely to happen on Sunday.

Nov 22 · Source via Lions Adrian Peterson Kerryon Johnson
  • Matthew Stafford Expected To Play In Week 11

Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford (thumb) is expected to play against the Panthers in Week 11. Stafford's status appeared a bit cloudy earlier in the week after a 'DNP' on Wednesday, though two limited sessions on Thursday and Friday have him on track for the contest against Carolina. Despite a minor tear in his throwing thumb, the veteran signal-caller will be close to full strength on Sunday. The same can't be said for his offensive weapons, as D'Andre Swift (head), Kenny Golladay (hip), and Danny Amendola (hip) have all been ruled out. Marvin Jones Jr., T.J. Hockenson, and Marvin Hall should all see some extra looks in the passing game. Stafford should be able to do enough to post high-end QB2 numbers.

Nov 22 · Source via Lions Matthew Stafford
  • Mohamed Sanu Joins Lions Active Roster For Sunday

Detroit Lions wide receiver Mohamed Sanu was added to the active roster Saturday as the team deals with injuries to wide receivers Kenny Golladay (hip) and Danny Amendola (hip). Sanu appeared in three games with the 49ers earlier this year, but made just one reception for nine yards. Even with WR targets up for grabs against a Panthers Defense that has allowed a considerable amount of fantasy points to opposing wideouts this year, Sanu can likely remain on the waiver wire until he proves part of the week-by-week puzzle for Detroit. Aggressive fantasy managers in deep season-long formats will note that the Lions have a quick turnaround before playing again on Thanksgiving, giving Sanu a chance to establish a role with another franchise down the stretch.

Nov 21 · Source via Lions Mohamed Sanu
  • D'Andre Swift Ruled Out For Sunday's Contest

Detroit Lions running back D'Andre Swift (concussion) will miss Sunday's game versus Carolina due to not having cleared concussion protocol in time to take the field. Swift has emerged as Detroit's most captivating running back talent from a fantasy perspective over the last two weeks with his absence re-opening the door for Adrian Peterson and Kerryon Johnson to have extended roles. To make things doubly tricky for Swift, the Lions' next contest comes Thursday against the Texans, giving him little time to pass protocol after Sunday if he's to not miss a second game. With that in mind, fantasy managers could nab Peterson as an upside RB2/3 on a multi-week streamer claim. Swift figures to take over lead back duties upon his return, whenever that comes.

  • T.J. Hockenson Off Week 11 Injury Report

Detroit Lions tight end T.J. Hockenson (toe) has been removed from the team's injury report ahead of their Week 11 contest against the Carolina Panthers. Carolina has allowed four touchdowns to tight ends in the last five games, so you can feel confident in deploying Hockenson as your fantasy TE1 in this week's contest, even with some concerns about the lingering impact of the toe injury.

Nov 21 · Source via Lions T.J. Hockenson
  • Kenny Golladay, Danny Amendola Miss Practice

Detroit Lions wide receivers Kenny Golladay (hip) and Danny Amendola (hip) both missed practice on Wednesday. Golladay returned to practice on Wednesday after missing the last two weeks, so this is a concerning development unless the Lions were just giving him a day to rest. Amendola has yet to practice this week, making it seem unlikely that he'll suit up this Sunday against the Panthers. Golladay should be in starting lineups if he's healthy as Detroit's No. 1 wideout, but his practice status on Friday will tell us much more. If both Golladay and Amendola are inactive this weekend, Marvin Jones Jr. will be a must-start as the team's top receiver. Marvin Hall and rookie Quintez Cephus would also benefit from more playing time.

Nov 19 · Source via Lions Danny Amendola Kenny Golladay
  • D'Andre Swift Could Miss Week 11 With Concussion

Detroit Lions rookie running back D'Andre Swift (concussion) didn't practice on Thursday because of a brain injury, putting his status for Week 11 against the Panthers in question. Swift made his first career start in Week 10 in the win over Washington, carrying the ball 16 times for 81 yards and adding 68 receiving yards. If Swift were to miss this Sunday's game, veteran Adrian Peterson and Kerryon Johnson would split the backfield work against Carolina. Swift is third on the team with 31 catches, leads all Lions backs with 4.7 yards per carry and has a team-high six touchdowns (four rushing), so losing him this weekend would be a big blow to Detroit's offense. If you roster Swift, you should be making other plans right now. Peterson and Johnson will be on the RB2/3 borderline if Swift is inactive.

Nov 19 · Source via Lions D'Andre Swift
  • T.J. Hockenson Limited In Thursday's Practice

Detroit Lions tight end T.J. Hockenson (toe) was limited in practice on Thursday heading into the team's matchup against the Panthers in Week 11. Hockenson has posted five different games of 50+ receiving yards this season and leads the team with five touchdowns. The talented tight end will go up against a Panthers Defense that is allowing the 12th most fantasy points to opposing tight ends and have allowed four touchdowns to the position over their last five games. At this point in the week, Hockenson is expected to be able to suit up. But fantasy teams need to check his participation in practice on Friday and could become a game-time call for Week 11.

Nov 19 · Source via Lions T.J. Hockenson
  • D'Andre Swift Has Intriguing Week 11 Matchup

Detroit Lions running back D'Andre Swift will go up against a Panthers Defense that is allowing the fourth most fantasy points to opposing running backs this season. The rookie running back has racked up 246 all-purpose yards over his last two games and has taken over the starting job in the backfield over veteran Adrian Peterson. Now Swift will face a Panthers defense that has allowed 10 rushing touchdowns and six different players have posted 100+ total yards against them. The Lions are in limbo on offense as quarterback Matthew Stafford currently is dealing with torn ligaments in his thumb. If Stafford sits, expect Swift to see even more touches. The rookie has a chance at posting RB2 numbers in Week 11.

Nov 19 · Source via Lions D'Andre Swift
  • Marvin Jones Jr. Hopes To Extend Touchdown Streak In Week 11

Detroit Lions wide receiver Marvin Jones Jr. will go up against a Panthers Defense in Week 11 that is allowing the 12th fewest fantasy points to opposing receivers. Jones Jr. has come on over the last month, catching touchdowns in each of his last three games with 14 receptions, 178 yards and four touchdowns during that span. The arrow, theoretically, is trending up for the veteran receiver but whether he could be deployed in fantasy lineups will be tied to the health of Matthew Stafford (thumb). Either way, Jones Jr. will take on WR6 status in Week 11.

Nov 19 · Source via Lions Marvin Jones
  • Kenny Golladay Back At Practice

Detroit Lions wide receiver Kenny Golladay (hip) practiced on Thursday, putting him cautiously on track to play in Week 11. It has been an injury-plagued season for Golladay but is a difference maker when he is on the field. Golladay is averaging 67.7 receiving yards a game and will go up against a Panthers Defense that is allowing the 12th fewest fantasy points to opposing receivers. Carolina has also allowed six different receivers to post 90 or more receiving yards against them this season. Golladay playing in Week 11 is a plus but the situation will need to be monitored closely with veteran quarterback Matthew Stafford (thumb) heading into the weekend as a major question mark as to whether he will be able to play.

Nov 19 · Source via Lions Kenny Golladay
  • Matthew Stafford Does Not Practice Thursday

Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford (thumb) did not participate in practice on Thursday and his status for Week 11 continues to be unclear. Stafford is dealing with torn ligaments in his right thumb but just because the veteran isn't practicing doesn't mean he won't suit up against the Panthers. Stafford will play a Carolina defense that had been stingy against opposing passers but have been burned for 719 passing yards and seven touchdowns the last two weeks. With star receiver Kenny Golladay (hip) returning to practice, Stafford could post a solid fantasy line in Week 11 if he can suit up against a Panthers Defense allowing 321.75 passing yards to quarterbacks over their last four games. This situation will have to monitored up until game-time.

Nov 19 · Source via Lions Matthew Stafford
  • Matthew Stafford Non-Committal About Playing In Week 11

Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford (thumb) isn't committing to playing in Week 11 against the Panthers after partially tearing a ligament in his right thumb in the Week 10 win over Washington. "Just taking it day to day. Trying to figure out if I can get through it. ... See if I can go out there and play," Stafford said. The 32-year-old is expected to tough it out and play through the injury, but it's no sure thing, especially since he didn't practice on Wednesday. If he were to sit out, Chase Daniel would start under center for Detroit and would be an option for those searching for a QB in two-QB superflex leagues. If Stafford can return to practice later this week and give it a go, he'll be on the streaming radar against a middle-of-the-pack Panthers Defense.

Nov 18 · Source via Lions Matthew Stafford
  • Matthew Stafford, Marvin Jones, Danny Amendola Miss Practice

Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford (thumb) and wide receivers Marvin Jones Jr. and Danny Amendola (hip) missed practice on Wednesday. Stafford has a partially torn ligament in his right thumb, but he's expected to play through it in Week 11 against the Panthers. The veteran QB is as tough as they come and could still be a decent streaming option under center against a beatable Panthers secondary, especially if he gets No. 1 wideout Kenny Golladay (hip) back. Jones has been on fire with Golladay out and has scored in each of the last three weeks. He'll be more of a WR3/flex if Golladay is back this Sunday. Amendola led Detroit in catches and yards in Week 9 but had just 10 receiving yards last weekend. The 35-year-old should be on the waiver wire in standard-sized leagues and will see even fewer looks whenever Golladay returns to the lineup.

Nov 18 · Source via Lions Matthew Stafford Danny Amendola Marvin Jones
  • Kenny Golladay Returns To Practice Wednesday

Detroit Lions wide receiver Kenny Golladay (hip) returned to practice on Wednesday after missing the last two games. It's a good sign that Golladay will be able to return in Week 11 against the Panthers, but fantasy managers will want to see him make it through the week with full practice participation before throwing him back into their starting lineups. The 27-year-old has WR1 upside when healthy, but he's missed four games so far this year with injuries. Carolina's defense has been stingy to the receiver position this year, but it's hard to argue against starting Golladay in fantasy if he's active this weekend. He has 20 catches for 338 yards and two touchdowns in his five games played.

  • Matthew Stafford Has Ligament Tear In His Thumb

Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford (thumb) is in fact dealing with partial tears to ligaments in his right thumb, putting his status for Sunday's contest versus Carolina in doubt. After a recent bout with the COVID-19/reserve list that almost led to Chase Daniel making his first start of the season, the veteran backup should be uniquely prepared to step in should Stafford not progress in the right direction during practice throughout the week. The Panthers Defense is yielding the fourth-most passing yards allowed in the league, which could make Daniel a heavily-contrarian GPP candidate -- although Stafford may not retain the same appeal depending on the extent of his injury. Check back throughout the week as updates on Detroit's QB1 become available.

  • Matthew Stafford Has Tests On His Thumb

Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford (thumb) had tests on his thumb after the Week 10 win over the Washington Football Team, but a source said that there isn't much concern about Stafford moving forward after X-rays came back negative. Stafford might be limited in practice this week, but the initial belief is that he won't miss the Week 11 game against the Panthers. The 32-year-old had one of his better games of the season on Sunday, going 24-for-33 for 276 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions. It was the second third time this year he has thrown three touchdown passes in a game and his first time since Week 7 without a pick. If he's able to play in Week 11 against Carolina, he'll be a midrange QB2 for fantasy managers. Keep an eye on his practice participation this week.
