  • CeeDee Lamb The Team's Clear No. 1 Option

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb is the team's clear No. 1 receiver entering the 2022 season with Amari Cooper in Cleveland and Michael Gallup (knee) not expected to be ready for Week 1. "CeeDee is a guy that wants the ball, expects the ball," quarterback Dak Prescott said. "When one guy is on him he's not covered in his head. And I appreciate that and like that. So I think in that sense yeah, as offensive coordinator Kellen Moore said, we'll feature him. Some plays will be designed to get it to him but in a case where everybody is one on one across the board, yeah, he's our guy to go to." The 23-year-old will draw plenty of attention from defenses, but he'll also see a bigger target share and should be a strong WR1 target in fantasy drafts.

  • Anthony Barr Signs With Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys have agreed to a deal with linebacker Anthony Barr. The four-time Pro Bowl linebacker was surprisingly unsigned up to this point. To be fair, injuries have limited Barr during each of the last two seasons. Despite that, Barr finished with 72 tackles, 2.5 sacks, and five passes defended in 11 games with the Vikings last season. The former first round pick might not be an every down back in Dallas. However, he still has plenty left in the tank, so this should be a solid upgrade to the Cowboys defense.

  • Noah Brown Has An Opportunity

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Noah Brown is the only receiver on the team not named CeeDee Lamb to have caught a pass in a regular season game after James Washington (foot) suffered a broken foot in practice on Monday. He's the oldest of the remaining receivers on Dallas' roster as they look to replace Washington and Michael Gallup (knee) to begin the season, and he's looking good this summer. Brown has lost weight, has the ability to line up all over the field and is a key contributor on special teams. The 26-year-old has struggled with injuries, but if healthy, he could have a big early season role alongside Lamb and rookie Jalen Tolbert. Rookie Dennis Houston has caught the eye of Lamb in camp as well. Tolbert is the favorite to start opposite Lamb in Week 1 against the Buccaneers.

  • Cowboys Not Looking To Add Veteran WR

James Washington‘s Jones fracture will force him to miss a portion of the regular season, with October likely looming as his earliest return window. Michael Gallup will also not be ready for Week 1. This certainly looks like it will create an uphill battle for the Cowboys, who began this offseason’s wideout trade rush by […]

  • No Urgency To Add WR After James Washington's Injury

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said on Tuesday that "there is no urgency to get a veteran receiver" in the wake of wide receiver James Washington's (foot) injury. Washington broke his foot in training camp practice on Monday and will miss six to 10 weeks as a result. Michael Gallup (knee) is recovering from surgery for a torn ACL earlier this year, and he won't be ready by Week 1, so the Cowboys receiver group is extremely thin heading into the regular season. CeeDee Lamb will be the top option, with rookie Jalen Tolbert now firmly in line for WR2 duties to open the year. Tight end Dallas Schultz should also see all the targets he can handle in the passing attack. Washington should now be avoided in standard-sized leagues, while Tolbert could quickly become a late-round darling.

  • James Washington Could Miss Two Months

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver James Washington (foot) has been diagnosed with a broken foot. The organization believes that Washington will miss 6-10 weeks of action. The expectation is that Washington will open the season on the injured reserve. This is bad timing for the Cowboys with Michael Gallup (knee) unlikely to be ready by Week 1. That means, CeeDee Lamb, Noah Brown, and Michael Tolbert should see significant playing time. Tolbert is certainly someone fantasy managers should keep their eye with the Cowboys short on options at wideout.

  • Cowboys Fear James Washington Suffered A Jones Fracture

The Dallas Cowboys are concerned that wide receiver James Washington (foot) suffered a Jones fracture in his foot during training camp practice on Monday, according to a source. Washington had to be carted off the field and is undergoing additional testing. The 26-year-old came down hard on his foot, was slow to get up and then wasn't putting any weight on the foot as he attempted to hop off the field. It's bad news for Dallas' wideout depth with Michael Gallup (knee) unlikely to be ready for Week 1. CeeDee Lamb will be the unquestioned No. 1 receiver with Amari Cooper now in Cleveland, while rookie Jalen Tolbert now has a crystal-clear path to No. 2 duties, at least to open up the 2022 season. In standard-sized leagues, fantasy managers can probably avoid Washington in upcoming drafts.

  • Cowboys CB Kelvin Joseph Will Not Face Criminal Charges

July 31: Joseph has been cleared of any criminal wrongdoing in relation to the March shooting, as Gehlken reports. Though he could still face a suspension if the NFL determines that he violated its personal conduct policy, Joseph will be able to focus on carving out a substantial role in the Cowboys’ secondary with a […]

  • Ezekiel Elliott To Be The Focus Of Run Game

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said on Saturday that running back Ezekiel Elliott "has to be the focus" in the run game this year. "He has to be the focal point" based on his work in the run game and pass game, Jones went on to say. "There is room for (Tony) Pollard while Zeke is in there." Elliott battled through a knee injury last year and Pollard was much more explosive and effective, but the Cowboys will continue to lean on Elliott. The 27-year-old had his fourth 1,000-yard season in 2021 and had 12 total touchdowns, but even if he remains the focal point, Pollard will get his touches, too. Zeke is no longer a slam-dunk RB1 in fantasy, but he should be a solid RB2 target in drafts this fall.

  • Kavon Frazier Announces Retirement

Free safety Kavon Frazier officially announced his retirement from professional football on Friday on his Twitter account. Frazier spent the 2021 season with the Las Vegas Raiders, but he played in just one game. He also spent time with the Cincinnati Bengals but didn't get into a game. The 27-year-old was originally a sixth-round draft pick by the Dallas Cowboys in 2016 out of Central Michigan, and he spent the first four seasons of his career in Big D. Frazier will finish his six-year NFL career with 73 tackles (50 solo), four tackles for loss, one sack and one forced fumble in 60 games (two starts).

  • Michael Gallup Won't Be Ready For Week 1

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Michael Gallup (knee) said on Thursday that he won't be ready for the Week 1 Sunday night season opener against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after he tore his ACL in January. "That's not a reasonable possibility," Gallup said. The 26-year-old missed half of the season due to injury last year and still finished with 35 receptions for 445 yards and two touchdowns. With Gallup expected to be sidelined early on, rookie Jalen Tolbert and newcomer James Washington are expected to compete for targets behind No. 1 wideout CeeDee Lamb. Gallup should eventually work himself into a prominent starting role in Dallas' offense, but the fact that he won't be ready for the start of the season will drop him off many fantasy managers' cheat sheets during drafts this fall.

  • Anthony Barr On Cowboys' Radar

Anthony Barr has gone through a quiet offseason. Nearly five months after his Vikings contract expired, the eight-year Minnesota starter remains a free agent. The former UCLA pass rusher may have a landing spot in Dallas, however. Cowboys executive VP Stephen Jones said Barr remains on the team’s radar, despite the defending NFC East champions […]

  • Cowboys Sign KaVontae Turpin

The Dallas Cowboys officially signed USFL Most Valuable Player and wide receiver/kick returner KaVontae Turpin to an undisclosed deal on Thursday. Turpin was a standout for the New Jersey Generals in the USFL and caught 44 passes for a league-high 540 receiving yards this year. The 25-year-old went undrafted out of TCU after he was dismissed from the team in 2018 due to a domestic-violence charge. He'll be hoping that his work on special teams can win him a roster spot this summer, but he could be a long shot to make Dallas' final 53-man roster.

  • Jalen Tolbert Building Chemistry With Dak Prescott

Dallas Cowboys rookie wide receiver Jalen Tolbert continues to build a good rapport with quarterback Dak Prescott. Tolbert was part of a group that worked with Prescott between minicamp and the start of training camp at Prescott's home and at the University of Miami. The 23-year-old will be competing with James Washington (foot), who returned to practice on Wednesday after sitting out organized team activities and minicamp with a left foot injury. With Michael Gallup (knee) questionable to be ready for the start of the regular season after tearing his ACL last year, Tolbert could in line for a big early season role in 2022.

  • Ezekiel Elliott Not Worried About Contract, Future

Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott isn't worried about his contract or future with the organization. "I think it is a big season, but I think you can't look too far down the road," Elliott said, "I think if I handle my business every day, then I'll be in a pretty good situation at the end of the season." The 27-year-old is set to make 12.4 million this year, fully guaranteed. The veteran has had some disappointing seasons during his career. But the former Buckeye may be extra motivated to produce with no more guaranteed cash remaining on his deal beyond the 2022-23 campaign. However, if Elliott doesn't deliver, Tony Pollard may receive more opportunities out of the backfield. Even worse, he may get sent packing.

  • Michael Gallup Not Ready To Practice

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Michael Gallup (knee) was placed on the PUP list on Wednesday, as expected. Gallup continues to rehab after undergoing ACL surgery in February. While he hasn't suffered any recent setbacks, he likely won't be practicing in the near future. Nonetheless, Gallup is forecasted to command plenty of targets from Dak Prescott as the No. 2 wideout behind CeeDee Lamb in 2022-23. Although the 26-year-old may not play the entire season, he could thrive once he's ready for a full workload, especially with Amari Cooper now in Cleveland.

  • Michael Gallup Hasn't Missed A Target In His Rehab

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Michael Gallup (knee) "has not missed a target yet" in his rehab from surgery to fix a torn ACL in February, according to head coach Mike McCarthy. "He hasn't had a setback" in the "fourth quarter" of his rehab. "He looks really good." Gallup started training camp on the Physically Unable to Perform list, and there remains no timetable for his return, but at least he's making good progress. The 26-year-old's status for Week 1 remains up in the air, which has caused his draft stock to plummet in fantasy. Even if he's ready, the Cowboys could ease him into their receiver rotation early in the year, too. With Gallup on the comeback trail, rookie Jalen Tolbert, James Washington and Noah Brown will compete for targets behind No. 1 wideout CeeDee Lamb.
