  • Kareem Hunt Not Participating In Team Drills

Cleveland Browns running back Kareem Hunt will not participate in team drills. The veteran is determined to receive an extension and has reiterated multiple times he will only perform individual sessions until then. Hunt's agent was reportedly at the Browns' facility recently for negotiations, although it's unknown how close the sides are to an agreement. The 27-year-old would like to remain in Cleveland. However, a trade also hasn't been ruled out. Nevertheless, despite being involved in a timeshare with Nick Chubb, Hunt has been a potent PPR fantasy producer over the years when available. He's battles injuries and off-the-field issues. Yet, no matter where he suits up this season, he should continue to be a reliable fantasy option as long as he stays healthy.

  • David Bell Comes Off PUP List

The Cleveland Browns activated rookie wide receiver David Bell (foot) off the Physically Unable to Perform list on Saturday. The third-round pick out of Purdue was a consensus All-American in 2021 and is an intriguing prospect that could earn playing time early as a slot option for the Browns with Jarvis Landry now in New Orleans. Bell is returning from a stress fracture in his foot, so he's likely to be eased into training camp practices. Amari Cooper will be the team's clear No. 1 receiver, but Bell and Anthony Schwartz (knee) have opportunity to take on big roles this season, albeit in a run-first offense that will be without quarterback Deshaun Watson for at least six games. Bell probably will be left to the waiver wire in standard 12-team leagues to begin the season, but he's one to watch as the year progresses.

Two star defenders from the 2022 United States Football League’s inaugural season signed NFL contracts today. • Latest On NFL's Deshaun Watson Appeal

2:59pm: Peter Harvey, a former New Jersey Attorney General, will hear the league’s Watson appeal. Goodell had the power to hear the appeal himself, but the longtime commissioner has appointed Harvey, who is now a partner at the New York-based Paterson Belknap firm. The NFL’s statement (via NFL.com’s Mike Garafolo, on Twitter) indicates Harvey has “deep […]

  • NFL Appealing Deshaun Watson's Six-Game Suspension

The NFL is appealing for an indefinite suspension for Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson that would be a minimum of one year, according to sources. The NFL's appeal will also include a monetary fine, which is even more significant given the structure of Watson's contract. Disciplinary officer Sue L. Robinson gave Watson a six-game suspension on Monday after the investigation into 20-plus accusations of sexual misconduct from Watson. There's now a possibility that the NFL Players Association could file a federal lawsuit, depending on how commissioner Roger Goodell or an appointed designee handles the appeal, which would allow Watson to continue playing until it's heard in federal court.

  • Amari Cooper Returns To Practice Wednesday

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Amari Cooper (ankle) returned to training camp practice on Wednesday and is taking part in individual drills. Cooper didn't participate in practice on Tuesday after tweaking his ankle on Monday. It's good news that he's already back, as the Browns' thin receiving corps is already without rookie David Bell (foot) and Anthony Schwartz (knee) in camp. Cooper will be the team's unquestioned No. 1 receiver in his first year in Cleveland, but he won't have quarterback Deshaun Watson throwing him passes until Week 7, which will put a dent in his fantasy upside early on. Fantasy managers should consider drafting the 28-year-old as a low-end WR2 this year.

  • Amari Cooper Dealing With Ankle Injury

Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski said that wide receiver Amari Cooper (ankle) will not practice on Tuesday but he'll be back on the practice field soon at training camp. Cooper tweaked his ankle in practice on Monday. It doesn't sound like the 28-year-old's injury is very serious, so fantasy managers shouldn't have any concerns about drafting him. However, the Browns wideouts are extremely banged up in training camp, with David Bell (foot) and Anthony Schwartz (knee) also sidelined. Cooper will be the team's unquestioned No. 1 wideout in his first year in Cleveland, and although quarterback Deshaun Watson is suspended for the first six games of the season, Cooper will be a low-end WR2 in fantasy drafts this fall.

  • Browns Activate OT Jack Conklin, Shuffle Receivers

After missing ten games last season with two separate injuries, Browns offensive tackle Jack Conklin has been activated from the physically unable to perform list, according to Nate Ulrich of USA Today. Conklin’s return to the field ensures that Cleveland will field all but one starting offensive linemen from last season.  Conklin had two separate […]

  • Deshaun Watson Settles Three Of Remaining Four Civil Suits

Before today’s announcement of the suspension Deshaun Watson will be facing (pending any potential NFL appeal), there was another important development in his legal situation. The number of civil suits he faces continues to drop, and now sits at one.  [RELATED: Watson Suspended Six Games] The embattled Browns QB has reached settlement agreements with three of the […]

  • Deshaun Watson Suspended Six Games

Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson has been suspended six games for violating the personal conduct policy. He will miss the first six weeks of the season and make his Browns debut in Week 7 against the Baltimore Ravens. NFL's disciplinary officer, Judge Sue L. Robinson, officially decided Monday for Watson's six-game suspension. The Browns play the Panthers, Jets, Steelers, Falcons, Chargers, and Patriots during the season's first six weeks. Nick Chubb, Kareem Hunt, David Njoku, and Amari Cooper's fantasy value takes a minor hit with Jacoby Brissett under center in the early part of the season. With Brissett as the team's starting quarterback, expect the Browns to lean heavily on the run before Watson is eligible to return. Fantasy managers can draft Watson as a mid-range QB2 in upcoming drafts, while Brissett becomes an option in Superflex league formats while the former Houston Texan is suspended.

  • Deshaun Watson Ruling To Come On Monday

Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson may learn his fate on Monday. The league's disciplinary officer, Judge Sue L. Robinson, is anticipated to reach a decision on the case after giving the NFL and NFL Players Association time to settle. However, with nothing of the sort expected, Robinson will be the deciding factor in this ordeal. Cleveland is expecting an eight-game suspension, with experts predicting that a two to eight-game hiatus is possible. Yet, there's also a chance Watson won't miss any time, which would automatically increase his fantasy stock. Guys like Nick Chubb, Kareem Hunt, David Njoku, and Amari Cooper would also likely benefit, especially since managers would feel more comfortable with Watson under center instead of Jacoby Brissett, who is expected to start if the former Texan misses games during the 2022-23 campaign.

  • Browns Unlikely To Re-Sign C J.C. Tretter

The Browns released center J.C. Tretter in March, and he has lingered on the free agent market ever since, with no concrete reports of interest in his services. However, even if Cleveland was able to re-sign its five-year starter to a team-friendly pact, Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com does not envision such a reunion. Per […]

  • Isaiah Weston Carted Off Field On Saturday

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Isaiah Weston (knee) was carted off the field during training camp on Saturday. While the exact nature of the knee injury isn't known, it's not good news for the undrafted rookie. Nonetheless, with the Browns already dealing with the absences of Anthony Schwartz (knee) and David Bell (foot), Weston may be in line for an increased role moving ahead. However, if the ailment is severe, his fantasy stock will drop even lower, if that's possible.

  • Ruling On Deshaun Watson Could Come Early Next Week

A ruling from NFL disciplinary officer Sue L. Robinson on Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson's suspension could come early next week. The Browns have been giving Watson and backup Jacoby Brissett first-team repetitions early in training camp with Watson likely to be handed down a suspension eventually. Whether it's for the entire 2022 season or just a portion of it remains to be seen, but the Browns have been clear that Brissett will be their starter if Watson is suspended. The most likely scenario is an eight-game suspension for Watson, which makes him undraftable in most single-season fantasy formats. If/when Brissett is starting games, expect the Browns to lean heavily on their ground game.

  • Anthony Schwartz Injured On Thursday

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Anthony Schwartz (knee) exited practice on Thursday after injuring his left knee. The 21-year-old is no stranger to injuries, battling a hamstring issue throughout the last offseason and training camp. He also missed three games in 2021-22 due to a concussion. He will be evaluated further in the coming days. However, if Schwartz misses time moving forward, Donovan Peoples-Jones may separate himself even more from the other young wideouts in the receiving corps.

  • Donovan Peoples-Jones A Favorite Of Deshaun Watson

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Donovan Peoples-Jones is in great shape to begin training camp and is earning opportunities. He's also already a favorite of quarterback Deshaun Watson. It's a good start for Peoples-Jones, but the problem is that Watson could be facing a lengthy suspension in his first year in Cleveland. Amari Cooper is the Browns' No. 1 receiver, but there's really nothing stopping DPJ from securing the No. 2 role this year. In his two NFL seasons, the 23-year-old has 48 catches for 901 yards and five touchdowns in 26 games. Given the likelihood that Watson is suspended in 2022, most fantasy managers are choosing to avoid Peoples-Jones in drafts.

  • Jacoby Brissett To Start If Deshaun Watson Is Suspended

Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski clarified the team's quarterback depth chart on Wednesday. "Jacoby Brissett is our backup quarterback. If Deshaun Watson is unavailable, Jacoby's our starter." Brissett will get first-team repetitions in training camp practices just in case Watson is suspended for a good chunk (or all) of the 2022 season. Brissett proved in his time with the Indianapolis Colts in 2019 that he's a replacement-level starter in the NFL, and he threw for 1,283 yards, five touchdowns and four interceptions in 11 games (five starts) for the Miami Dolphins in 2021. Especially in Cleveland's run-first offense, Brissett will be no more than a low-end QB2 in fantasy leagues if Watson is suspended.

  • Browns To Consider Extension For LB Sione Takitaki

Browns linebacker Sione Takitaki is entering the final year of his rookie contract, and Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com says he has done enough to earn a new deal. Per Cabot, the Browns will consider an extension for Takitaki.  Cleveland’s most frequent alignment is a 4-2-5 look, with Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah and Anthony Walker entrenched as […]
