  • Justin Fields Questionable To Face Jets

Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields (shoulder) is officially questionable for the Week 12 matchup with the New York Jets. Head coach Matt Eberflus said the team is hoping to take the decision to play Fields up until game time on Sunday. Fields is the overall QB4 on the season after a sluggish start and has been arguably the most explosive breakout player in all of fantasy football. That said, fantasy managers will surely be hurting if he's ruled out. The New York Jets have been a top-10 unit against fantasy quarterbacks this season, but Fields is very much in the must-start category with his rushing upside. The good news is no quarterbacks are on a bye week so it shouldn't be too difficult to find a streamer, but losing Fields' ceiling will be disappointing. If he's out, Trevor Siemian will start for Chicago. He'd only be viable in superflex or two-QB leagues.

  • Justin Fields Puts In Another Limited Practice

Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields (shoulder) was limited in practice for the second straight day on Thursday. Fields is dealing with a separated shoulder and partially torn ligaments in his left, non-throwing shoulder. It's good news that it's not his throwing arm, but the 23-year-old dual-threat signal-caller feels pain every time he throws and there is some concern that the Bears might play it safe and hold their franchise QB out as a precaution. Fields has become a must-start QB1 in fantasy in his second NFL season, but he'll be a bit more risky if he plays this Sunday against a tough New York Jets defense. If he's inactive on Sunday, backup Trevor Siemian would get the start and would merely be a desperation low-end QB2 in superflex formats.

  • Justin Fields Unlikely To Play In Week 12?

The Athletic's Jon Greenberg writes that it seems unlikely that the Chicago Bears would let quarterback Justin Fields (shoulder) play with his injury, particularly given the context (the Bears are 3-8) and the style of Fields' play. "I just feel like if I can play and that I'm not furthering the risk of injury and I can do what I need to do to be able to protect myself, I think that'll be good enough for me to play," Fields said. The 23-year-old got in some practice work on Wednesday, but he's dealing with a separated left shoulder and partially torn ligaments, so it's a pretty serious injury, even if it's to his non-throwing shoulder. Fields says he feels pain every time he throws. Fantasy managers that have been riding the up-and-coming dual-threat QB need to have a backup plan at the QB position this week.

  • Justin Fields Dealing With A Separated Shoulder

Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields (shoulder) is dealing with a separated shoulder and a partially torn ligament. The second-year quarterback suffered the injury last week against the Atlanta Falcons but finished the game. While the injury sounds painful, Fields could play against the New York Jets this week. The former Ohio State quarterback has been a fantasy cheat code over the past six weeks, averaging 28.8 fantasy points per game. Furthermore, he has averaged 106.7 rushing yards per game during that span, totaling at least 60 yards in every contest. Trevor Siemian would get the start if Fields can't go on Sunday. However, fantasy players should not consider Siemian a suitable replacement for the young star quarterback.

  • Justin Fields Day-To-Day, Will Practice Wednesday

Chicago Bears head coach Matt Eberflus said that quarterback Justin Fields (shoulder) is day-to-day and his status going into the Week 12 game against the New York Jets on Sunday is undetermined. However, Fields has been cleared to practice on Wednesday, and the Bears aren't considering putting him on Injured Reserve after he suffered a left shoulder injury in Week 11 against the Atlanta Falcons. The 23-year-old will be listed as limited on Wednesday for their walk-through, but it's a good sign for his availability this weekend. If for some reason Fields isn't cleared to play, Trevor Siemian would get the start under center for the Bears. As things stand now, Fields is on the right side of questionable for Week 12, and he'll be a must-start QB1 if he's active, despite the tough matchup against the Jets defense.

  • Justin Fields Dislocated Shoulder, Remains Day-To-Day

Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields suffered a shoulder dislocation during Sunday's loss to the Atlanta Falcons, head coach Matt Eberflus told the media. The injury is painful and Fields will be evaluated on a day-to-day basis, though Eberflus would not rule out the possibility of the quarterback's season being over. He has looked fantastic as of late, ranking as the QB1 while accumulating 193.54 fantasy points from Weeks 5 to 11. If Fields does have to miss time, Trevor Siemian would take over as Chicago's quarterback.

  • Chase Claypool Non-Existent In Bears Loss

Chicago Bears wide receiver Chase Claypool caught only two passes for 11 yards in the team's 27-24 loss to the Falcons. Three games into Claypool's Bears career and he has lacked any semblance of chemistry with quarterback Justin Fields and still is constrained to only a small package of plays on offense. This isn't to shut the door on his potential in the Bears offense long-term but he simply is not fantasy viable at this time and dropping him for more productive options may need to be considered.

  • Cole Kmet Musters Only 35 Yards Against Falcons

Chicago Bears tight end Cold Kmet caught three passes for 35 yards in the team's 27-24 loss to the Falcons in Week 11. Kmet was targeted only four times in the game but came down with a fantastic one-handed catch for a 24-yard gain. Kmet has carved out a role for himself in this resurgent Bears offense but quarterback Justin Fields is awaiting MRI results on an injured left shoulder suffered on the last drive. Kmet will be a touchdown-dependent fantasy option in Week 12 against the Jets.

  • Darnell Mooney Salvages His Day With A Touchdown

Chicago Bears wide receiver Darnell Mooney caught four passes for only 29 yards but hauled in a 16-yard touchdown against the Falcons in Week 11. Mooney found the end zone in the first half for his third touchdown of the season but was barely targeted in the second half. Quarterback Justin Fields will have X-Ray's on his injured left shoulder and his availability in Week 12 will swing the potential for Mooney like a pendulum against the Jets. If Fields does not suit up, Mooney will be a very risky fantasy option next week.

  • Justin Fields Evaluated For Shoulder Injury

Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fielder (shoulder) was carted to the locker room for further evaluation and testing following Sunday's loss to the Atlanta Falcons. The mobile quarterback certainly didn't look 100 percent in the second half. He was seen clutching his shoulder and wincing in pain throughout the contest. When all was said and done, Fields finished with 14 completions for 153 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. He also rushed a whopping 18 times for 85 yards and one touchdown on the ground. Between his four sacks and staggering number of rushes, Fields clearly put his body on the line during Sunday's game. Fantasy managers should be on the lookout for an injury update later Sunday evening.

  • Velus Jones Jr. Active Against Falcons

Chicago Bears wide receiver Velus Jones Jr. will be active for the Week 11 matchup against the Atlanta Falcons. The third-round rookie was a healthy scratch last week. Now, the Bears have decided to make Jones active for what could be a high-scoring affair with the Falcons. The assumption is that Jones will be the primary kicker returner, but also be mixed in the receiving game. Fantasy managers shouldn't bother streaming Jones considering he hasn't done much this season.

  • Darrynton Evans Promoted From Practice Squad

Chicago Bears running back Darrynton Evans has been elevated from the practice squad ahead of Sunday's game versus Atlanta. The 2020 third-round pick appeared in six games for Tennessee in the last two seasons, amassing 61 yards off 16 touches while adding two catches for 27 yards and a touchdown. He was waived back in March and was claimed off waivers by the Bears shortly after. With Khalil Herbert (hip) on injured reserve, Chicago is looking for someone to slide into the No. 2 spot. Although rookie Trestan Ebner was expected to fill that role, moving Evans up to the active roster complicates things for fantasy managers in deeper formats searching for a desperation option.

  • Cole Kmet Removed From Injury Report

Chicago Bears tight end Cole Kmet was listed on the injury report this week with a thigh injury, but he's not on the final injury report of the week, so he's good to go against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 11. Kmet started the year slow, but after catching five touchdowns in his last three games, he's a TE1 on the season and is tough to bench. He has some of the highest upside among all tight ends, especially against the Falcons who have allowed the ninth-most fantasy points to tight ends through ten weeks.

  • Cole Kmet Takes Touchdown Streak Into Week 11

Chicago Bears tight end Cole Kmet will try and keep his resurgent offensive season humming in Week 11 against the Falcons. Kmet had perhaps his best game as a pro last week, catching four passes for a team-high 72 yards and two touchdowns. He has quickly become a weapon in the offense that is seeing consistent targets and will face a Falcons defense that is allowing the most passing yards a game (280.7) to opponents this season. Atlanta has allowed only one touchdown to opposing tight ends this season but Kmet has five scores over his last three games and is suddenly worth a start in standard fantasy formats in Week 11.

  • Will Chase Claypool Be More Involved In Week 11

Chicago Bears wide receiver Chase Claypool should be in line for more offensive snaps in Week 11 against the Falcons. Claypool has been limited in his first two games since being acquired via trade but he will have a fantastic matchup to get more involved. He will go up against a Falcons defense that is allowing the most fantasy points to opposing receivers. 16 different receivers have posted double-digit fantasy points against the Falcons and the Bears could take some shots with Claypool down the field. This remains a size-able 'if' heading into Week 11 and Claypool needs to ride the fantasy bench until his targets rise.

  • Darnell Mooney Gets Fantastic Matchup Against Falcons

Chicago Bears wide receiver Darnell Mooney is still looking for a breakout performance this season heading into the team's Week 11 matchup against the Falcons. This may be the week it happens facing an Atlanta defense that is allowing the most fantasy points to opposing wide receivers. The Bears offense is averaging a league-worst 12.3 completions per game but the Falcons have surrendered six 100-yard receiving games to six different receivers this season. Mooney is posting just over 58 receiving yards a game over his last five games but has only one touchdown to show for it. Mooney will carry FLEX value, with upside, heading into Week 11.

  • David Montgomery Ready To Carry The Load In Week 11

Chicago Bears running back David Montgomery will have an excellent chance to break out of his mid-season slump in Week 11 against a vulnerable Falcons defense. With backup Khalil Herbert on the IR with a hip injury, the backfield belongs to solely the fourth-year running back. The Falcons have allowed the 10th most fantasy points to opposing running backs this season and have allowed seven total touchdowns to the position over their last four games. Montgomery's numbers have been pedestrian with the ascendance of quarterback Justin Fields production and the elusive Herbert siphoning away backfield touches of late, but the Bears running back will tip closer to RB2 value in Week 11.

  • Justin Fields Star Will Continue Against Falcons

Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields will have a plus-matchup against a Falcons defense that is allowing the ninth most fantasy points to opposing passers heading into Week 11. Fields has taken the NFL by storm over the last month and has 14 total touchdowns over his last five games. The Bears are averaging 201.7 team rushing yards a game this season and Fields is responsible for 111 rushing yards a game over his last four played. The intriguing element of this week's matchup is that the Falcons currently surrender an NFL-worst 280.4 passing yards a game. They have allowed seven different quarterbacks to post more than 17 fantasy points against them, creating a very high floor for Fields to post QB1 numbers again in Week 11.

  • Cole Kmet Misses Wednesday's Practice

Chicago Bears tight end Cole Kmet (thigh) was absent from Wednesday's practice. The 23-year-old has been on a roll lately. Coinciding with the emergence of quarterback Justin Fields, Kmet has caught nine of his 13 targets for 115 yards and four touchdowns over the last two weeks combined. With this absence from Chicago's first practice of the week, there is the possibility that Fields is without his top option in Week 11. Nothing is set in stone yet, but this is a situation to monitor, as Kmet was a popular name on waivers this week.

The Bears acquired some depth on the defensive line today, signing former first-round pick Taco Charlton from the Saints practice squad, according to Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune. • Bears Put Khalil Herbert On Injured Reserve

The Chicago Bears placed running back Khalil Herbert (hip) on Injured Reserve on Tuesday, meaning he'll miss at least the next four games. The Bears also waived defensive end Kingsley Jonathan and claimed defensive back Justin Layne off waivers. Herbert suffered a hip injury in the Week 10 loss to the Detroit Lions that will require him to sit out for the next four games. David Montgomery will continue on as Chicago's primary back, with rookie Trestan Ebner serving as his primary backup moving forward. Herbert had 10 carries for 57 yards before leaving on Sunday and has a healthy 643 rushing yards and four touchdowns on 108 carries while also adding six catches for 62 yards and another TD in 10 games for the Bears this year.

  • David Montgomery Musters Only 44 Total Yards

Chicago Bears running back David Montgomery carried the ball nine times for 37 yards and added one seven-yard reception in the Bears loss to the Lions in Week 10. In a game where the Bears offense posted 30 points, Montgomery was unable to provide a productive punch in the backfield. Chicago's running game has shifted solely to the dynamic legs of quarterback Justin Fields and Montgomery slowly is losing sway in the offensive game plan to backup Khalil Herbert. Montgomery's fantasy value will continue to dip heading into Week 11.

  • Darnell Mooney Posts 57 Receiving Yards In Defeat

Chicago Bears wide receiver Darnell Mooney caught four passes for 57 yards in the team's 31-30 loss to the Lions in Week 10. Mooney caught all four of his targets but continues to disappoint making explosive plays. The Bears offense is humming but the passing game remains in the stone age. Mooney is the team's best receiver but remains touchdown-dependent as a fantasy option moving forward.

  • Chase Claypool Held To Two Targets

Chicago Bears wide receiver Chase Claypool caught only one pass for eight yards in the team's 31-30 loss to the Lions in Week 10. Claypool took a bubble screen for a moderate gain and then was only targeted one more time in the game. Claypool's arrival to the Bears via trade has been a slow process through two games and the talented receiver is still trying to learn the offense. Claypool has plenty of potential but he is fantasy unplayable until the his opportunities increase.

  • Cole Kmet Stays Hot Against Lions

Chicago Bears tight end Cole Kmet caught four passes for a team-high 74 yards with two touchdowns in the Bears' 31-30 loss to the Lions. Kmet has been on fire the past three games and now has five touchdowns during that span. The third-year tight end sprung free in the red zone for his first score and then scampered untouched to the end zone for his 50-yard second score. Kmet's fantasy value is skyrocketing at present, thanks to the Bears' suddenly explosive offense. Kmet will be back on the fantasy radar as a low-end TE1/high-end TE2 option in Week 11.

  • Justin Fields Dazzles Again In Loss

Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields completed 12-of-20 passes for 167 yards with two passing touchdowns, one interception, one rushing touchdown and a team-high 147 rushing yards in the Bears Week 10 loss to the Lions. Fields continues to tear through the NFL and set another NFL record with 549 rushing yards over his last five games as a passer. Fields made plays all over the field and showed off his dynamic elusiveness but a second-half interception, that turned into a touchdown, changed the tenor of the game. Fields has cemented himself as, at the very least, a top-10 fantasy quarterback play moving forward.

  • Khalil Herbert Ruled Out Sunday

Chicago Bears running back Khalil Herbert (hip) has been ruled out for the remainder of Week 10 against the Detroit Lions. As the Bears try to mount a comeback, they'll be without their young No. 2 running back. He finishes the day with 10 rushes for 57 yards. Trestan Ebner will operate behind David Montgomery for the time being.

  • N'Keal Harry, Velus Jones Jr. Inactive For Week 10

Chicago Bears wide receivers N'Keal Harry and Velus Jones Jr. are inactive for the upcoming Week 10 matchup against the Detroit Lions. This shouldn't come as a shock with Byron Pringle returning for this game. His return will make Harry inactive as Jones will miss his second straight game. The addition of Chase Claypool has ended the fantasy value of Harry and Jones in Chicago. The Bears are going to focus on passing to Claypool, Darnell Mooney, and Cole Kmet. The expectation is that Pringle won't have a big enough role to warrant rostering in fantasy leagues.

  • Byron Pringle Activated On Saturday

Chicago Bears wide receiver Byron Pringle (calf) has been activated off the injured reserve on Saturday. The 29-year-old last played in Week 3 and has been on the IR with a calf injury since then. The return of Pringle does give the Bears a slight boost on offense. However, the arrival of Chase Claypool will likely take away most of the value Pringle would've had in this offense. The Bears have a crowded wide receiver corps and don't pass the ball often to warrant rostering Pringle in any fantasy formats right now.

  • Bears Plan To Expand Chase Claypool's Role

Chicago Bears head coach Matt Eberflus said that the team plans to expand the package of plays for wide receiver Chase Claypool in Week 10 against the Detroit Lions on Sunday in Claypool's second game with the team. In his debut with Chicago in last week's win over the Green Bay Packers, Claypool played just 35 percent of the offensive snaps and caught two of six targets for only 13 yards. We should expect his snap share to increase this weekend, but that doesn't necessarily mean he'll be a recommended flex play for fantasy managers, even in deeper leagues in the Bears' low-volume passing attack. Quarterback Justin Fields and the team's offense is showing more life of late and has a great matchup, but Claypool is still a shaky starting option as he continues to learn the team's offense.

  • Can Cole Kmet Stay Hot?

Chicago Bears tight end Cole Kmet will try and extend his current touchdown streak to three games against the Lions in Week 10. Kmet's offensive production was in a deep slumber for the first month of the season but suddenly has three touchdown catches over his last two games. Even more encouraging, the Bears offensive game plan actively featured Kmet last week. He will try and keep it rolling against a Lions defense that is allowing the third most fantasy points to opposing tight ends. Seven different tight ends have posted at least seven fantasy points against the Lions this season, a mark Kmet could reasonably eclipse in Week 10.

Nov 11 · Source via Bears Cole Kmet
  • David Montgomery Gets Plus-Matchup In Week 10

Chicago Bears running back David Montgomery will try and produce against a leaky Lions defense in Week 10. Montgomery has taken a step back in an offense that is suddenly heavily featuring quarterback Justin Fields in the running game. Montgomery is still picking up the hard yards in short-yardage situations but his volume of touches has crested at around 13-15 the past three weeks. He will, however, have a strong chance to post a solid fantasy line against a Lions defense that is allowing the sixth most fantasy point to opposing running backs this season. Detroit has allowed 11 rushing touchdowns already this season and Montgomery will need the end zone to solidify himself as a true RB2 play in Week 10.

Nov 11 · Source via Bears David Montgomery
  • Chase Claypool Still Working His Way Into Bears Offense

Chicago Bears wide receiver Chase Claypool will have a favorable matchup against the Lions in Week 10. Claypool was lightly worked into the offensive mix in his Bears debut last week and that could be the norm in the weeks to come. Claypool has speed and size to make a game-breaking play at any moment but his snap-count should remain limited until he gets a handle on the playbook. Even if his opportunities are slim, he could still find his way into the end zone against a Lions defense that is allowing the fourth most fantasy points to opposing receivers this season. Claypool will be boom-or-bust in Week 10.

Nov 11 · Source via Bears Chase Claypool
  • Darnell Mooney Gets Favorable Tilt Against Lions

Chicago Bears wide receiver Darnell Mooney will face a Lions defense that is allowing the fourth most fantasy points to opposing wide receivers in Week 10. Mooney has been solid, yet unspectacular, during the Bears offensive resurgence over the last three games but hauled in a touchdown last week. He will face a Lions secondary that has allowed 70 or more receiving yards to 11 different receivers thus far this season. That is a solid floor to work from for Mooney but may need a touchdown to justify a fantasy start in most leagues in Week 10.

Nov 11 · Source via Bears Darnell Mooney
  • Justin Fields Carries QB1 Value Against Lions

Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields will try and stay hot against a very vulnerable Lions defense in Week 10. Fields is coming off a dynamic performance against the Dolphins, when he set an NFL regular season record for rushing yards by a quarterback with 178. He also tallied four total touchdowns and has looked fantastic over the past three games while the Bears offense are averaging 31.3 points a game during that span. Enter the Lions, who are allowing the third most fantasy points to opposing passers, including 24 fantasy points or more surrendered to four different quarterbacks this season. Fields has a green-light matchup and will carry top-10 fantasy value at the quarterback position for Week 10.
