Andy Dalton
  • Andy Dalton Back To Fantasy Relevance

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Andy Dalton struggled mightily earlier in the season when he first replaced injured starter Dak Prescott (ankle), but after missing time due to a concussion and with COVID-19, Dalton looked the part of an NFL starting quarterback in Week 11. For Week 12, Dalton and the Cowboys get a Thanksgiving Day matchup against the Washington Football Team. In what could be a close, low-scoring game, Dalton is likely to be a better real-life quarterback than a fantasy one this week. He's in the lower-end QB2 range against a surprisingly tough Washington defensive line.

  • Andy Dalton Expected To Start In Week 11

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Andy Dalton (COVID-19) is expected to get the start in Week 11 against the Minnesota Vikings. Dalton struggled in his two starts before going down with a concussion and later dealing with COVID-19. As long as he's healthy though, he should be given the chance to start over Ben DiNucci and Garrett Gilbert. Gilbert actually looked decent in his start though, so Dalton may not be given too many chances if he looks as bad as he did in his Week 7 start. With the struggles of the Cowboys offense all season without Dak Prescott and the uncertainty of Dalton's health and chances in this one, he's shaping up as no better than a QB3.

  • Amari Cooper Should See Boost From Andy Dalton's Return

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Amari Cooper combined to see 17 targets in the two games that veteran signal-caller Andy Dalton has started this season, which bodes well for his outlook heading into Sunday's matchup against Minnesota. Dalton is expected to return after clearing the concussion and COVID-19 protocols. The past two games have seen Cooper, a 2019 Pro Bowler, limited to six catches, which has put a damper on his fantasy stock. While he may not have the same appeal that he did while Dak Prescott was under center, Cooper's Week 11 matchup is particularly advantageous due to the Vikings Defense having yielded 16 touchdowns to opposing wide receivers (tied with Dallas for most in the NFL).

  • Andy Dalton Activated From COVID-19 List

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Andy Dalton was activated from the Reserve/COVID-19 list on Monday. Head coach Mike McCarthy stated that he and his staff would take things "day by day" with Dalton and the team's quarterback position, but there's every reason to believe Dalton will be starting under center when the Cowboys take the field in Week 11 against the Minnesota Vikings. Since Dak Prescott was lost for the season with an ankle injury, the Cowboys offense has scored just 10.2 points per game. Dalton is not Prescott or even close to it, but he should be able to at least provide something in the passing game as a low-end QB2 in superflex leagues.
