  • Leonard Fournette Has Been A Camp Standout

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Leonard Fournette has done a great job of getting into shape for training camp this year. Head coach Todd Bowles already declared Fournette to be in game shape, and he's looked like it this summer. He's looked as fast and explosive as ever, and his conditioning hasn't been an issue. The Bucs have also given indications that they'll run the ball more in 2022. Fournette is making $7 million per season, and the team will want to get their money's worth. Despite the presence of Giovani Bernard and rookie Rachaad White, Fournette will remain the team's three-down feature back again this season. If he stays healthy, he should be able to rush for 1,000 yards, making him a clear RB1 target in fantasy drafts.

  • Buccaneers Not Concerned With Leonard Fournette's Weight

Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles said he has no issues with running back Leonard Fournette's weight, and he looked much slimmer in the team's first training camp practice on Wednesday compared to mandatory minicamp in June. Fournette said he weighed 244 pounds for the start of camp after a report said he weighted 260 at minicamp. "He ran great in the test yesterday -; he's explosive, he's quick and we're happy with him," Bowles said. Despite the overblown weight-gain talks this offseason, Lenny will open the year as Tampa's clear-cut lead back, and he's likely to be on the field most of the time. Despite the addition of rookie Rachaad White, Fournette, who had 1,266 scrimmage yards and 10 touchdowns in last year's regular season, will be a strong RB1 choice for fantasy managers.

  • Leonard Fournette Sheds Weight

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Leonard Fournette was back down to 245 pounds when he reported to training camp on Tuesday, according to a source. Fournette's weight was a big topic of discussion this offseason when he appeared close to 260 pounds at the team's mandatory minicamp in June. However, the 27-year-old was training hard to shed some weight before training camp, and it looks like he's done just that. Fantasy managers shouldn't have been putting too much stock in his weight this offseason to begin with. Rookie Rachaad White could spell Lenny more often down the stretch, but when healthy, Fournette should remain firmly in the RB1 mix yet again in 2022 with quarterback Tom Brady back for another season.

  • Leonard Fournette Working Hard To Get In Shape

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Leonard Fournette's weight has been a big topic of discussion this offseason. Fournette weighed around 240 pounds during organized team activities, but said getting down to 230 or 228 pounds is within his range. For what it's worth, head coach Todd Bowles said Fournette "looked fine" and was "no worse for wear" during OTAs. Reports suggested that the Bucs coaching staff was unhappy with Fournette's weight gain, but he has been training hard since then, and his trainer Jordan Bush thinks the weight issue is overblown. Bush said Fournette left training sessions in Texas last week in the "low 240s" and should lose even more weight during training camp this summer. The 27-year-old will once again be Tampa's lead back, but conditioning concerns and rookie Rachaad White lurking has caused Fournette to slip to low-end RB1 territory.
