  • Maxx Williams Activated From PUP List

The Arizona Cardinals activated tight end Maxx Williams (knee) from the Physically Unable to Perform list on Thursday, and he is dressed for practice at training camp. Williams has been sidelined since tearing his ACL in Week 5 of last year. Before the injury, he was off to the best start of his career with 16 catches for 193 yards. But unless Zach Ertz misses time with injury in 2022, Williams probably isn't worth considering for fantasy rosters. In his three seasons with Arizona, the 28-year-old has 39 receptions on 46 targets for 497 yards and three touchdowns in 30 games (23 starts). In seven NFL seasons with the Cardinals and Baltimore Ravens, Williams has hauled in just six touchdowns in 72 games.

  • Cardinals Hopeful Maxx Williams Will Return Soon

Arizona Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury said he remains hopeful that tight end Maxx Williams (knee) will be able to return from the Physically Unable to Perform list before the end of training camp. Williams tore his ACL in Week 5 last year. "He's worked his tail off," Kingsbury said. "There have been a couple guys throughout the league, it takes a year-and-a-half, two years to come back. I'd say he's ahead of schedule. Not saying he'll be ready to go or how that looks, but from where it started to where it is now I couldn't be more impressed." The 28-year-old has 39 receptions (46 targets) for 497 yards and three touchdowns in three years with Arizona, so he's unlikely to become a fantasy asset in 2022, even if Zach Ertz misses time with injury.
