  • Aaron Jones Re-Signs With Packers

The Green Bay Packers and running back Aaron Jones have agreed to a four-year, $48 million contract to keep Jones in Green Bay. It's a bit of a surprise after Green Bay chose not to franchise tag Jones, as it looked like the team was going to save money and roll with A.J. Dillon as their lead back. Not the case, which means everyone who speculatively traded for Dillon in dynasty leagues this offseason are in a bit of a pickle now. Jones is one of the NFL's most efficient backs and has averaged over five yards per carry in three of his four NFL season. He's got a pretty clear path to RB1 value.

  • Aaron Jones Heads To Free Agency, Green Bay Remains In Play

Running back Aaron Jones is set to become a free agent after the Green Bay Packers opted not to utilize their franchise tag on the star back. Jones was selected to his first career Pro Bowl this past year, amassing a career-high 1,104 yards rushing with nine scores on the ground and another two through the air. The Packers reportedly would like to ink Jones to a multi-year deal before he hits the open market, but that's far from a sure thing. Should Jones find a new home for 2021, AJ Dillon would stand to see a sizable increase in usage as the potential new top back, as Jamaal Williams is headed toward unrestricted free agency.

  • Aaron Jones A Candidate For The Franchise Tag

Green Bay Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst said that impending free-agent running back Aaron Jones is a candidate for the franchise tag, but also said there are "usually better ways to avoid it." Gutekunst said he would use the tag on Jones if it is what's best for the team. Jones would make around $8 million if he was slapped with the franchise tag in 2021. The 26-year-old running back finished as the No. 5 fantasy running back in Yahoo leagues in 2020, carrying the ball 201 times for 1,104 yards and nine touchdowns in 14 games. He also had 47 receptions on 63 targets for an additional 355 yards through the air and two scores. Jones will remain an RB1 target in fantasy in 2021 if he remains with Green Bay, but he'd be plenty valuable elsewhere in a lead-back role.

  • Aaron Jones Leaves Game Against Tampa Bay

Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones (chest) left the team's NFC Championship Game against the Buccaneers and did not return. Jones posted only 27 rushing yards in the first half of the game and became involved in a game-swinging moment at the end of the second quarter. The talented back caught a pass from Aaron Rodgers, turned up field and fumbled the ball at midfield. Jones was injured on the play and the Buccaneers picked up a crucial touchdown before the half. The 2020 Packers will be remembered for its passing attack but Jones posted 10-plus total touchdowns for the second straight season. Jones heads into the offseason as a free agent and returning to the Packers next season is certainly up in the air moving forward.

  • Aaron Jones Could Struggle In NFC Title Game

Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones is a strong fantasy option most weeks, but Sunday's NFC Championship game against Tampa could be one of those games where you don't want Jones in your lineup. His worst game of the season came against Tampa when he was held to just 15 rushing yards on 10 carries. He found the end zone that week, but with Tampa allowing the second-fewest fantasy points per game this year to the position, you're probably going to be betting on a touchdown to get any value from Jones this week. There are better DFS plays, even on a two-game slate.

  • Aaron Jones Delivers Against Rams

Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones carried the ball 14 times for 99 yards with one touchdown and 14 receiving yards in the team's 32-18 win over the Rams in the NFC Divisional Round. Jones went up against a stingy Rams Defense and ran hard between the tackles. The free-agent-to-be cashed in with a one-yard run for a touchdown in the second half and averaged a robust 7.1 yards per carry. The Packers offense didn't miss a beat against the Rams and will be favorites at home next week in the NFC Championship. Jones will continue to handle the bulk of carries out of the backfield heading into the team's next matchup.

  • Aaron Jones To Face Stingy Rams Front

Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones will face a Rams Defense this Saturday that allowed the fifth fewest fantasy points to opposing running backs during the regular season. The Packers air attack made plenty of headlines this season but Jones, once again, enjoyed an excellent season. Jones posted 1,459 total yards from scrimmage with 11 touchdowns and, maybe most impressively, averaged over five yards per carry for the third time in his first four seasons. The Rams have not allowed a single back to post more than 100 rushing yards against them all season but have surrendered seven total touchdowns to the position over their final eight games. The Packers will need quarterback Aaron Rodgers to be at his best this weekend but Jones can be expected to see 10-15 touches in the backfield and could find the end zone against the Rams.

  • Aaron Jones Averaging 105.6 Rushing Yards Last Five Games

Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones will try and keep the rival Bears out of the postseason in Week 17. Jones heads into the final game of the season with 10 total touchdowns and 1,062 rushing yards despite dealing with a bit of a timeshare in the backfield recently with Jamaal Williams and A.J. Dillon. Despite losing carries here and there (only 10 touches last week), Jones has posted 528 rushing yards his last five games, averaging 105.6 per game in that span. He will go up against a Bears Defense that is allowing the ninth fewest fantasy points to opposing running backs but Jones posted 90 yards against them in Week 12. Jones will carry low-end RB1 value in Week 17.

  • Aaron Jones Totals 108 Scrimmage Yards, Returns From Injury

Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones (hip) carried the ball 10 times for 94 rushing yards in a dominant win over Tennessee. Jones added two receptions for 14 receiving yards to cap off a strong game for the UTEP product, who was forced to leave the game in the first half with a hip injury, though he later returned. Jones still managed to exceed 90 scrimmage yards for the fourth time in five games. It's worth watching the practice reports this week to see if the hip injury hinders Jones at practice in any way. As long as he's healthy, Jones should be expected to keep his hold on the lead back role in a Week 17 matchup with the Bears, who allowed 90 rushing yards to him in their first meeting.

  • Aaron Jones Ready To Rumble Against Titans

Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones will go up against a Titans Defense in Week 16 that is allowing the seventh most fantasy points to opposing running backs this season. Jones is finishing up the season strong, averaging 108.5 rushing yards with two touchdowns over his last four games. The Titans have allowed 12 rushing touchdowns to opposing backs and have allowed five different backs to post 13+ fantasy points against them. Jones is only 32 yards short of 1,000 rushing yards on the season and will be a solid RB1/2 option in Week 16.

  • Aaron Jones, Allen Lazard Limited In Practice

Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones (toe), wide receiver Allen Lazard (core, wrist) and linebacker Za'Darius Smith (ankle, neck, thumb) were all limited in practice on Wednesday. Jones totaled 158 yards and a touchdown last week against the Panthers and will be a top-five fantasy running back against a Titans Defense that is allowing the seventh-most fantasy points per game to running backs this year. Lazard had five catches for 56 yards last week as the team's leading receiver. Predicting success outside of Davante Adams in Green Bay at the position has been a crapshoot, though, making Lazard a boom/bust WR4/flex. The Packers Defense isn't a recommended play against Derrick Henry and the Titans, even with Smith likely to be active.
