  • Jeff Driskel Has A Rough Game Against Buccaneers

Denver Broncos quarterback Jeff Driskel looked like a backup in the 28-10 Week 3 loss to the Buccaneers, completing just 17 of his 30 passes for 176 yards, one touchdown and one interception. He was sacked five times and has been sacked a whopping 11 times in the last two weeks after being forced into action because of Drew Lock's (shoulder) injury. It got so bad that Brett Rypien came into the contest in the fourth quarter. Even though Driskel is set to get another start this Thursday against the similarly 0-3 Jets, he should be avoided in fantasy leagues, even those that start two quarterbacks.

  • Sam Darnold Won't Be Benched

New York Jets head coach Adam Gase remains committed to struggling quarterback Sam Darnold after an 0-3 start. Darnold had three interceptions -- two which were returned for touchdowns -- in the Week 3 blowout loss to the Colts. Veteran backup Joe Flacco (neck) underwent surgery in April and has been out the first three games. Flacco didn't start practicing until last week and might be inactive again this Thursday against the Broncos. Mike White, who has no regular season experience, is currently the backup until Flacco gets healthy. It's not all Darnold's fault, as Gang Green's best offensive players -- Le'Veon Bell, Jamison Crowder and Breshad Perriman -- have all been sidelined by injuries in recent weeks. Until further notice, it's best to avoid this entire offense, even against a banged-up Broncos Defense in Week 4. Darnold has 32 interceptions in 29 career starts.

  • Royce Freeman Has Just Four Touches In Week 3

Denver Broncos running back Royce Freeman tallied only four touches -- two carries for four yards and two catches for 31 yards -- in the 28-10 Week 3 loss to the Buccaneers. Even with Phillip Lindsay (toe) sidelined by turf toe, Freeman continues to be an afterthought in this offense behind Melvin Gordon III, and it didn't help that the Broncos were down by multiple scores throughout the day against Tampa. There might be more chances for Freeman to make some noise this Thursday night against a woeful Jets team, but fantasy managers shouldn't count on it. Freeman just isn't seeing enough snaps or touches to merit a roster spot on your fantasy squad.

  • Melvin Gordon III Held Out Of End Zone

Denver Broncos running back Melvin Gordon III carried the ball just eight times for 26 yards and caught four of his six targets for an additional 12 yards in the Week 3 loss to the Buccaneers. The Broncos weren't able to get anything going on offense under backup quarterback Jeff Driskel and were playing from behind all day, which led to single-digit carries for Gordon. He was more involved in the passing game, but Gordon still disappointed his fantasy managers in this tough matchup. Things will get a lot easier this Thursday against the winless Jets, but Denver's offense doesn't have much upside as long as Drew Lock (shoulder) remains sidelined.

  • Kalen Ballage Makes Jets Debut

New York Jets running back Kalen Ballage was able to get involved in the gameplan for the Week 2 matchup versus the San Francisco 49ers. The Jets are desperate for help in the running back after Le'Veon Bell (hamstring) went down. Ballage saw one carry for five yards and two receptions for 12 yards in the loss. Frank Gore saw 21 carries and appears to be the player they plan to lean on. There won't be much upside for Ballage against the tough Indianapolis Colts Defense next week. Fantasy owners should leave Ballage on the waiver wire until he proves himself.

  • Frank Gore Gets 15 Carries Versus Colts

New York Jets running back Frank Gore was used as the workhorse back once again this week. He carried the ball 15 times for 57 yards in the loss to the Indianapolis Colts in Week 3. The veteran back is likely going to be asked to carry the ball quite often until Le'Veon Bell (hamstring) returns. He has been unable to get much going on the ground this season. At this point, Gore is basically a desperation flex option and it'll likely stay that way versus the Denver Broncos next week.

  • K.J. Hamler Quiet In Week 3 Loss

Denver Broncos rookie wide receiver K.J. Hamler caught three of his five targets for only 30 yards in the 28-10 Week 3 loss to the Buccaneers. Hamler ran the ball once but lost two yards in the process. The speedy youngster has big-play ability, but it'll probably be few and far between that he can take advantage of that with backup quarterback Jeff Driskel leading the team right now with Drew Lock (shoulder) injured. Hamler could do some damage against a poor Jets Defense on Thursday night in Week 4, but he'll be a hail mary in terms of DFS and season-long leagues as long as Driskel remains the starter.

  • Jerry Jeudy Leads Denver In Receiving In Loss To Bucs

Denver Broncos rookie wide receiver Jerry Jeudy finished the 28-10 Week 3 loss to the Buccaneers with five catches on nine targets for a team-leading 55 yards. Jeudy has yet to find the end zone in his rookie season, but he was second on the team in targets and will continue to serve as the No. 1 receiver the rest of the season with Courtland Sutton (knee) out. The Alabama product is an exceptional talent with big-play ability, but his upside is limited with backup Jeff Driskel under center for now with Drew Lock (shoulder) hurt. Jeudy could find the end zone for the first time in his career against the Jets this Thursday, but he'll be a risky WR4/5 in deeper leagues.

  • Tim Patrick Scores Team's Lone Week 3 Touchdown

Denver Broncos wide receiver Tim Patrick caught all four of his passes for 43 yards and the team's only touchdown in the Week 3 loss to the Buccaneers on Sunday by a score of 28-10. The efficiency was nice, but both the ceiling and floor are incredibly low for Patrick in an offense currently led by backup quarterback Jeff Driskel. There will be more opportunities for the 26-year-old the rest of the season with Courtland Sutton (knee) out for the year, but Patrick should probably remain on the waiver wire in the majority of fantasy leagues. Don't expect another trip to paydirt when the Broncos face the 0-3 Jets on Thursday night in Week 4.

  • Jamison Crowder, Breshad Perriman Ruled Out Against Colts

New York Jets head coach Adam Gase said that wide receivers Jamison Crowder (hamstring) and Breshad Perriman (ankle) have been ruled out for Week 3 against the Colts. It'll be Crowder's second straight missed game. The Jets offense is an absolute disaster right now, as running back Le'Veon Bell is also out for multiple weeks. Chris Hogan and Braxton Berrios will be quarterback Sam Darnold's top targets this Sunday, making Indy's defense an excellent streaming option. You'd have to be really desperate to consider Hogan or Berrios in a flex spot in the deepest of leagues. Tight end Chris Herndon had a quiet Week 2, but he has some sleeper appeal with all of New York's pass-catchers injured.

  • Noah Fant Doesn't Do Much With 10 Targets

Denver Broncos tight end Noah Fant was targeted a team-high 10 times in the Week 3 loss to the Buccaneers, but he was only able to reel in five catches for 46 yards. It was evident that backup quarterback Jeff Driskel is a clear step down from Drew Lock (shoulder) under center, which will negatively affect Fant's upside for as long as Lock remains sidelined. The good news is that Fant should continue to be targeted heavily in the passing game. He probably shouldn't be looked at as a strong TE1 option for however long Driskel is the starter, but Fant will have some TE2 sleeper appeal this Thursday night against a woeful Jets team.

  • Chris Herndon Could See Increased Role In Week 4

New York Jets tight end Chris Herndon has fluctuated between being a critical component in the teams offense and disappearing from the gameplan. Heading into Week 4, Herndon may be relied upon more than usual with all three of New Yorks top receivers carrying questionable designations as of Tuesday night. Their respective statuses for Thursday could create an opening for Herndon to vulture additional targets. Quarterback Sam Darnold has targeted Herndon better than an average of five times per contest over the first three weeks, although he has become a touchdown-dependent fantasy commodity, albeit one without an actual touchdown. Season-long fantasy managers may choose to wait until Sunday for more consistent options to appear, but those interested in the DFS market could consider Herndon as part of a one-game slate roster.
