Friday morning and it was quite a week. Kids were off school, in-laws descended for a visit, I had to get my annual March Madness Survivor Pool set up, and still lots of baseball news to keep track of and questions from Cheatsheet Compiler & Draft Buddy users to stay of top of. Also, are you looking for a league to join? Read on for info.
1. First off, a CC/DB projections update was posted this morning. That includes some minor changes to Rick’s projections, an ADP update and a complete update for the depth charts. If you have the Compiler already, open it up and hit Update Projections. If you don’t have it yet, the latest download includes the update.
2. Looking for a league? Long-time CC/DB user and all-around good guy, ezcollectibles, is running a re-draft league, and he’s looking for a few guys to fill open spots. The league has a $50 entry fee. Draft is scheduled for Monday March 26th at 7:30 Central on ESPN (website, not the live network broadcast). League details include 5×5 roto scoring, mixed AL+NL player pool, 12 teams and weekly transactions.
The entry fee must be paid prior to the draft, or you don’t get to draft. I am filling one of the spots, so come on, take your shot at me. This is my only baseball league this year, so you’ll get my undivided attention… until fantasy football season ramps up, in June, explaining my annual swoon in my baseball leagues. Yep, you definitely want me in your league. If interested, let me know and I will pass your contact info on to ez.
3. Two prospect reports went up this week, for pitchers Gerrit Cole and Trevor Bauer. Thanks to Rick for each of those articles. I also posted 2011 BABIP stats for hitters, updating my post on the subject last year.
4. Earlier this week I purchased a subscription to MLBDepthCharts Magazine, the add-on to the already incredibly in-depth, MLBDepthCharts.com. There is a ton of reference material in the package from Jason Martinez and his gang, and the format is awesome. His Excel sheets make me want to update the CC/DB with a new look, actually. Very sharp. One item I found very handy is the quick reference injury report, which Jason was generous enough to let me post for your review. Check out the MLBDepthCharts Magazine Injury Report Update, and definitely give strong consideration to getting your own subscription.
That’s it. For those drafting this weekend, good luck!
