We are down to the final week of the season and you have to decide how badly you want it. If you have even the slightest chance of winning your title, you should be spending all your available time looking over pitching matchups, home-field advantages, and hot streaks. Now is your chance to grab the Yoohoo (Why do they waste a perfectly good Yoohoo by pouring it over somebody’s head? Shouldn’t you drink that chocolatey goodness, instead?).
If your league has unlimited daily waiver pickups, you should be streaming pitchers every day. If your ERA and WHIP can take a small hit, the chance to add wins and strikeouts is well worth it. If your hitters are a little cold right now, dump them for someone who is hot. If you still have the injured Carlos Quentin on your team (and there are no keeper ramifications), dump him and grab a hot hitter like Jayson Werth or Shin-Soo Choo.
Make the move for a hot player and try to ride his hot streak into a title. It doesn’t matter if you are waiving a superstar to get him as long as your stats are going up. The goal is to win the championship, it really doesn’t matter how you get there. Winning ugly is still winning!
