If you are an avid fantasy baseball player, you probably are aware of the free leagues offered by such places as Yahoo. These are great places to put a little time that should pay off in the end. Yahoo allows you to have 4 teams under one account name and I use all four, plus anything else I like to do under a second account name. Currently, I am in 5 Yahoo leagues to help me track players on my teams as well as the competitions teams.
By having so many teams, I am able to try different strategies, track players I usually don’t follow closely, and offer trades to people I don’t know as a test of what the market is worth before I try it out on someone I do know. Also, each league has a draft which allows me extra drafting practice (which you can never have too much of). I put about 90% of my time and energy into two leagues. But the 10% that I spend on the free leagues helps me keep track of all kinds of player info that I wouldn’t normally.
