As we approach the three week mark of the season, all kinds of trade offers are being thrown around. Some of them are worth our attention and some are not. You should always be a courteous owner and return every offer, even if it is for a player you don’t intend to trade.
I have been after Matt Holliday for about a month now in my dynasty league. The guy who owns Holliday only returns select e-mails (the ones he wants to) and took about 3 weeks to finally tell me that he has no intention of trading Holliday. Since this is a guy I want very badly, I have put several other trades on hold so I can put together a deal for the guy I want. This owner’s inconsiderate ways have prevented me from making a deal. As a result, I do not go out of my way to help him when he comes to me for a deal.
I always take advantage of another owner’s e-mail to try and put something together. If they make me an offer, it means that I have something they want. I can usually find something on their team that I want and I try to make the deal work for me. Most owners don’t make a whole bunch of trade offers at one time hoping to land one trade. Instead, they go after a specific player hoping to land him and if they fail, then they move on to the next option. Be courteous and let the other owner know you are not interested, so they can move on.
