Minnesota Twins starting pitcher Bailey Ober (groin) will be activated from the 10-day injured list and he will start Sunday's game against the Kansas City Royals. The 26-year-old was off to a nice start to the year before he was sidelined with right groin tightness. Over four starts this season, he's gone 1-1 with a 2.75 ERA and a 1.22 WHIP. To clear a roster spot for Ober, fellow right-handed pitcher Devin Smeltzer will be optioned to Triple-A.

Twins Bailey OberThe Baltimore Orioles will be promoting catching prospect Adley Rutschman from Triple-A on Saturday. He is expected to make his MLB debut in Saturday's game against the Tampa Bay Rays. This is the most highly-anticipated prospect call-up of the year as Rutschman is the top prospect in the majors. There's a decent chance he would have begun the season with the Orioles if it weren't for a right triceps strain he suffered during the spring. The 24-year-old has spent the last few weeks at Triple-A, slashing .233/.377/.442 with three home runs, seven RBI and five runs. He's a must-roster player in all fantasy leagues as he has a chance to be one of the most valuable catchers in all of fantasy going forward this year.

Orioles Adley Rutschman prospectTampa Bay Rays shortstop Wander Franco (quad) told reporters after Friday's game against the Baltimore Orioles that he was experiencing right quad tightness again during the game. He began experiencing the tightness during a play where he was rounding third base and heading home. Due to the tightness, he avoided sliding at the plate on the play and was tagged out. It's unclear whether or not he will be held out of Saturday's game, but he doesn't anticipate a stint on the injured list will be required.

Rays Wander FrancoUpdating a previous report, New York Mets starting pitcher Max Scherzer (oblique) has a "moderate to high-grade" oblique strain and will miss six to eight weeks. Oblique injuries often require a lengthy absence, especially for pitchers, so fantasy managers were already preparing for an extended absence with the 37-year-old, three-time Cy Young winner. He was pulled early from his start on Wednesday against the St. Louis Cardinals with what was initially called left side discomfort. Barring setbacks, Scherzer could be back in the Mets rotation in early July. New York's rotation depth will now be tested with Jacob deGrom (shoulder) and Tylor Megill (biceps) also out. Trevor Williams will continue to work in the rotation, while David Peterson should get some starts as well.

Mets Max ScherzerThe Washington Nationals look like sellers again at the trade deadline this year, but superstar outfielder Juan Soto doesn't figure to be dealt. Soto has 2 1/2 years left before he reaches free agency, and he might be the most valuable asset in baseball with the Nationals for sale. "Forget Soto trade not happening," agent Scott Boras said. The 23-year-old Dominican is hitting .250/.393/.471 with an .864 OPS, eight home runs, 11 RBI, 26 runs scored, four stolen bases and a league-leading 32 walks in 173 plate appearances over 39 games so far in 2022. Soto's RBI numbers are down on a bad Nationals team, but he's providing elite production everywhere else for his fantasy managers. A trade to a contending team, although unlikely, would only make Soto that much more valuable in fantasy.
