Everson Pereira Remains Out Of Thursday's Lineup

New York Yankees outfielder Everson Pereira (hamstring) remains absent from Thursday's lineup for the series finale versus the Toronto Blue Jays. The 22-year-old hasn't been seen in the lineup since last Thursday's doubleheader against the Boston Red Sox due to a low-grade hamstring strain. Pereira sustained the injury during that series when he slipped on the wet dugout steps at Fenway Park. The No. 3 Yankees prospect is unfortunately losing out on some valuable opportunity in center field in wake of Jasson Dominguez's (elbow) UCL surgery. In the meantime, Estevan Florial patrols center and hits seventh against right-hander Jose Berrios on Thursday.

Everson Pereira Still Sidelined

New York Yankees rookie outfielder Everson Pereira (hamstring) is set to miss yet another game on Tuesday against the visiting Toronto Blue Jays. In his absence, Oswaldo Cabrera is making another start in left field and will be in the nine-hole against Blue Jays left-hander Yusei Kikuchi. Pereira, one of the team's top prospects, made his MLB debut on Aug. 22 but hasn't played since Sept. 14 because of his hamstring injury, and manager Aaron Boone acknowledged that the injury could send the youngster to the injured list. With just under two weeks left in the 2023 season, Pereira may have played his last game this year. The 22-year-old Venezuelan has also struggled in his first 70 big-league at-bats, going 10-for-70 (.143) with no homers, seven RBI, four steals and six runs scored.

Everson Pereira Could Go On Injured List

New York Yankees manager Aaron Boone said that rookie outfielder Everson Pereira (hamstring) is dealing with a hamstring injury that could land him on the 10-day injured list. Pereira, the team's No. 3 prospect per MLB Pipeline, has also struggled in his first 21 major-league games, going 10-for-70 (.143) with no homers, three doubles, seven RBI, four stolen bases, 31 strikeouts and six runs scored. An injured-list stint would probably mean the end of Pereira's 2023 season with just under two weeks left for the Yankees. The 22-year-old hasn't played in a game since last Thursday, opening up more playing time in New York's outfielder for Oswaldo Cabrera.

New York Yankees manager Aaron Boone said that outfield prospect Everson Pereira will make his major-league debut on Tuesday against the Washington Nationals and right-hander Josiah Gray and will be starting in left field. The team's No. 3 prospect, per MLB Pipeline, gets the call to the big leagues after hitting a combined .300 (91-for-303) with 18 home runs, 17 doubles, two triples, 64 RBI, 11 stolen bases and 53 runs scored in 81 games with Double-A Somerset and Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. The 22-year-old can play anywhere in the outfield, but he'll mostly man left field on a regular basis in the Bronx the rest of this year. The 5-foot-11 right-handed hitter is worth a waiver-wire pickup in deep-mixed leagues for his power and speed.

Yankees To Promote Everson Pereira, Oswald Peraza

The Yankees are promoting outfield prospect Everson Pereira before tomorrowâs series opener against the Nationals, reports Jack Curry of the YES Network (Twitter link). Infielder Oswald Peraza is also being recalled from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, according to Curry. Both players are already on the 40-man roster, so New York will only need to make corresponding active roster transactions.âĤ

The New York Yankees recalled a pair of prospects on Monday as infielder Oswald Peraza and outfielder Everson Pereira will join the club for Tuesday's series opener versus the Baltimore Orioles. Peraza, 23, has appeared in 19 games with the Yankees this season, hitting .173 with four stolen bases and a .520 OPS across 64 trips to the plate. He has fared much better at Triple-A Wilkes-Barre where he has hit .268 with 14 homers, 16 stolen bases, and an .836 OPS across 300 plate appearances. Tuesday could mark the big-league debut for Pereira, 22, who has done some serious damage as Peraza's teammate at Triple-A this season. The club's second-ranked prospect has hit a hefty .312 with eight homers, four stolen bases, and a .937 across 35 games after a successful 46-game stint at Double-A to begin the season.

Everson Pereira Continues To Power His Way Through The Minor Leagues

New York Yankees prospectEverson Pereirahas continued to show a power profile that has fantasy managers excited about his future in the Big Apple. In 73 games across two levels, the outfielder has 36 extra-base hits and an impressive .304/.366/.551 slash line. The 2023 production reinforces the elite power that Pereira has shown throughout his pro career. While not necessarily alarming, Pereira does strike out in 28% of his plate appearances, and an improvement in that area could lead to even more offensive firepower. The 22-year-old is a valuable asset in dynasty leagues, and a 2023 call-up is not out of the question.

Randal Grichuk On Yankees Radar

The New York Yankees are leaning toward being buyers at this year's trade deadline, and Colorado Rockies outfielder Randal Grichuk is currently on their radar, according to a person with knowledge of the team's personnel decisions. The Yanks are currently 2.5 games out of the third and final wild-card position after a win over the New York Mets on Wednesday. Team executives don't envision adding much, as they sit at $295 million on the luxury tax payroll, and they don't expect to trade their best prospects in outfielders Jasson Dominguez and Everson Pereira. They're interested in adding someone who could play left field and provide an offensive impact, and Grichuk has been on their radar because he won't cost much. New York has also been connected to the Cardinals' Dylan Carlson and the Cubs' Cody Bellinger.

Everson Pereira Slugs Two Home Runs

New York Yankees outfield prospect Everson Pereira clubbed two home runs during his most recent appearance for Triple-A Scranton. The performance raises his overall slash line to .306/.373/.566 with 14 home runs through 59 games between Double-A and Triple-A this season. Showcasing a 50-grade hit tool, 55-grade power, and 55-grade running ability, Pereira is the fourth-ranked prospect in the Yankees farm system, per MLB Pipeline. The 22-year-old projects to break through to the majors sometime in 2024, though it is possible he will get a first taste later this year. Pereira's upside makes him a worthwhile target in dynasty leagues.
