Zach Neto Off On Sunday

Los Angeles Angels shortstop Zach Neto is missing from the lineup for Sunday's game against Eury Perez and the Miami Marlins. The rookie has been decent over 39 games, slashing .252/.327/.389 with three homers and three steals. Livan Soto is playing short instead and batting ninth. The 22-year-old has played in just one game this season and was struggling at Triple-A before his call-up with a .554 OPS. Fantasy managers will want to pick up another middle infield option if they're looking for a streamer.

Zach Neto Hits First Career Home Run Tuesday

Los Angeles Angels shortstop Zach Neto made his only hit count in Tuesday's 3-1 loss to the Astros. The 22-year-old went 1-for-3 with a solo home run off of Framber Valdez and a strikeout. It was the prospect's first long ball of his big-league career. While a good deal of fantasy hype surrounded Neto upon his call-up, he has slashed a mediocre .244/.330/.333 with eight RBI and a stolen base in 88 plate appearances. Hopefully, this can help him get things going. Neto is still obviously a fantasy asset in dynasty leagues, but it may be difficult to keep rostering him in re-draft leagues if he cannot provide more counting stats.

Zach Neto Day-To-Day With Finger Contusion

Los Angeles Angels rookie shortstop Zach Neto (finger) was removed from Wednesday's game early against the St. Louis Cardinals with a right-finger contusion. He's being listed as day-to-day for now, which means he may not have to miss much time at all, if any. Neto was hit by a pitch on his right hand while attempting to bunt in the fifth inning and was removed after finishing his at-bat. The 22-year-old infielder went 1-for-3 in the ballgame before departing early. Coming into Wednesday's game against St. Louis, Neto had gone 15-for-57 (.263) with four doubles, five home runs, a stolen base and four runs scored in 65 plate appearances and his first 17 major-league games. Hopefully for fantasy managers in deeper leagues, Neto won't miss much time at all.

Los Angeles Angels shortstop Zach Neto is starting at shortstop and hitting leadoff for the Halos in Sunday's series finale against the Boston Red Sox and right-hander Garrett Whitlock. The team's No. 2-ranked prospect, per MLB Pipeline, will be making his second big-league start on Sunday after getting called up by the Angels this weekend. The 22-year-old will be looking for his first MLB hit against Boston after going hitless in his debut on Saturday. The former first-round pick hit .299/.377/.476 with an .853 OPS, five home runs, 27 RBI, five stolen bases and 24 runs scored in 37 games at High-A Tri-City and Double-A Rocket City last year. Neto should be able to provide some immediate fantasy contributions with his power at a premium position, but expect some inconsistency.

Angels Promote Zach Neto, Option David Fletcher

The Angels made a significant transaction today, calling up top prospect Zach Neto, their first round pick from the 2022 draft. In the corresponding move, the Angels optioned David Fletcher, sending the six-year veteran to Triple-A. To make room on the 40-man roster, Chris Rodriguez has been transferred to the 60-day IL. Neto will make…

Los Angeles Angels shortstop Zach Neto has been called up from Double-A Rocket City on Saturday. The 22-year-old Neto was the Angels' first-round pick last season and is expected to take over at shortstop full-time for the big league club, according to Jeff Passan. He's appeared in just 44 minor league games overall but has performed well, slashing .322/.408/.529 with eight home runs, 37 RBI, and eight steals. He offers a nice blend of speed and pop and it's encouraging to see that the Angels are going to give him a real shot to run away with the shortstop job. He is worth grabbing in deeper fantasy leagues, particularly for any managers dealing with shortstop woes, of which there are many.

Zach Neto Assigned To Double-A Rocket City

Los Angeles Angels top infield prospect Zach Neto will start the season in Double-A Rocket City. The 2022 13th overall pick finished spring training with an .828 OPS over 23 at-bats. Though he has yet to serve an entire season in the minors, Neto may be on the fast track to the big leagues. His estimated arrival time in the majors is 2024, but seeing the Angels call on him at some point this season would not be surprising. Neto brings 60-grade hitting, and his positional flexibility allows him to slot in at either shortstop or second base -; areas the Angels lack in depth.
