  • Vinnie Pasquantino Not In Saturday's Lineup

    Headshot for Vinnie Pasquantino

Kansas City Royals first baseman Vinnie Pasquantino is not in Saturday's lineup as the Royals continue a three-game set in Queens. Pasquantino was off to a slow start, as he tallied just five hits in his first eleven games. Since then, Pasquantino has hit for a .583 AVG with two doubles and one home run. Salvador Perez will shift to first base today, and Freddy Fermin will serve as the backstop for pitcher Alec Marsh. This will be Fermin's sixth start of the season and will have a difficult matchup as he faces southpaw Sean Manaea, who has a dominant 0.82 ERA and 0.73 WHIP across his first two starts.

  • Vinnie Pasquantino Snaps Cold Spell With Five RBI

    Headshot for Vinnie Pasquantino

Kansas City Royals first baseman Vinnie Pasquantino broke out of a slump in Wednesday's 11-2 blowout win over the visiting Houston Astros, going 3-for-3 with a home run, a double, and a career-high five RBI. Pasquantino doubled to shallow left to drive in two runs in a seven-run third inning for the Royals before homering to right during the fourth frame. It was already a huge evening at the dish, but Pasquantino added a sacrifice fly to bring in one more in the sixth. The 26-year-old former top prospect was a popular fantasy drop candidate after an abysmal 4-for-37 start to the year, but Wednesday's three-hit attack raised his batting average to .175 and his OPS to .552 over 11 games. Pasquantino occupies a premium lineup spot in KC's lineup every day and should continue to have plenty of RBI chances going forward.

  • Vinnie Pasquantino Off To Slow Start In 2024

    Headshot for Vinnie Pasquantino

After missing most of the 2023 season due to a shoulder injury, Kansas City Royals first baseman Vinnie Pasquantino has gotten off to a slow start in 2024. He has only one hit in 11 at-bats (1-for-11) and is slashing .091/.231/.091 over three games. Pasquantino will look to rebound this week against an awful White Sox team just swept by the Tigers. The 26-year-old is worth starting in all formats in a plus matchup versus Chicago, especially in OBP leagues. As long as Pasquantino is healthy, he is expected to be a four-category player and should be starting for your team in the long term.

Raise your hand if you had the Royals being one of the top-five spenders in free agency on your offseason bingo card back in November. • Vinnie Pasquantino Starting Cactus League Opener

    Headshot for Vinnie Pasquantino

Kansas City Royals first baseman Vinnie Pasquantino (shoulder) is playing first base and batting second in the team's Cactus League opener on Friday versus the Texas Rangers. It's good news after Pasquantino had season-ending shoulder surgery last June. The power-hitting left-hander played in only 61 games in his second year in the majors due to his shoulder injury and went 57-for-231 (.247) with nine home runs, 26 RBI and 24 runs scored after hitting .295/.383/.450 with an .832 OPS, 10 home runs and 26 RBI in 72 games in his rookie campaign in 2022. He was a disappointment up until his injury last year, but when healthy, Pasquantino has the ability to be a four-category producer for fantasy managers, albeit without much protection around him in Kansas City.
