Sal Frelick Remains Out Against Padres

Milwaukee Brewers rookie outfielder Sal Frelick (hamstring) is not in the starting lineup on Friday against the visiting San Diego Padres. Frelick said his hamstring is feeling good, but the Brewers want him to get through a full pre-game warmup before he returns to the lineup. He's hoping to return to action on Saturday for the second game of the three-game series. Tyrone Taylor is getting the start in center field on Friday and is hitting ninth against Padres right-hander Yu Darvish. Frelick, the team's No. 2 prospect per MLB Pipeline, has hit .250 (19-for-76) with three home runs, four doubles, 16 RBI, five stolen bases and 16 runs scored in his first 26 major-league games for the Brew Crew. His excellent bat-to-ball skills and plus speed make him attractive in mixed fantasy leagues for the rest of the 2023 campaign.

Sal Frelick Avoids Serious Injury

Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Sal Frelick (hamstring) underwent an MRI on Wednesday after exiting Saturday's game due to a right hamstring issue. Luckily, the results came back clean, so the Brewers are considering Frelick as day-to-day. The Brewers have a scheduled off day on Thursday, so possibly Frelick is ready to go on Friday. Fantasy managers will have to check back for another update ahead of Friday's game versus the San Diego Padres.

Milwaukee Brewers rookie outfielder Sal Frelick (hamstring) remains out of the starting lineup on Wednesday against the visiting Minnesota Twins. Frelick hasn't been on the field since last Saturday, although he was originally in Tuesday's lineup before being scratched with his right-hamstring ailment. With an off day coming for Milwaukee on Wednesday, hopefully the 23-year-old will be feeling good enough to return on Friday for the start of a series against the San Diego Padres. Tyrone Taylor is patrolling center field and batting ninth for the Brew Crew on Wednesday against Twins right-hander Kenta Maeda. Frelick has produced a .250/.388/.421 slash line with an .809 OPS, three homers, 16 RBI, five stolen bases and 16 runs scored in his first 26 major-league games in 2023.

Sal Frelick Scratched Tuesday With Right Hamstring Soreness

Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Sal Frelick (hamstring) was scratched from Tuesday's 7-3 win over the Twins with right hamstring soreness, MLB.com's Adam McCalvy. This issue also kept the 23-year-old out of Sunday's game against the Rangers. Fantasy managers should keep an eye out for any news tomorrow, but Frelick can still be considered day-to-day given current news. He has been a fantasy contributor since getting called up, slashing .250/.388/.421 with three home runs, 16 RBI, and five stolen bases in 98 plate appearances.

Joey Wiemer Absent On Thursday

Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Joey Wiemer is absent from Thursday's starting lineup against the Los Angeles Dodgers. This appears to be a routine rest day for the struggling outfielder. Since the All-Star break, Wiemer is slashing .227/.282/.318 in 71 plate appearances. In his absence, Sal Frelick will cover center field and bat cleanup versus right-hander Lance Lynn on Thursday. This could be an interesting spot for Frelick against a struggling pitcher in Lynn.

Sal Frelick Homers, Plates Four Monday

Milwaukee Brewers rookie outfielder Sal Frelick turned in another strong game at the plate in Monday's 12-1 win over the Rockies. The 23-year-old went 2-for-3 with a double, a three-run home run, four RBI, a walk, and a strikeout. The team's No. 2 prospect, per MLB Pipeline, has put forth a solid showing since getting promoted at the end of July, slashing .273/.435/.545 with three HR and 15 RBI in 62 plate appearances. He has been a name to know in fantasy dynasty leagues, but Frelick could also be a useful pickup in redraft leagues if he continues to hit well and receive regular playing time.

The team's No. 2 prospect, per MLB Pipeline, has seven hits in his first 30 major-league at-bats with a home run, a double, four RBI and nine runs scored in 11 games to this point. The 23-year-old lefty hitter has excellent bat-to-ball skills thanks to a short stroke, and he also has plus speed. Milwaukee Brewers rookie outfielder Sal Frelick is getting the day off on Wednesday against the Washington Nationals after crashing into the right-field wall on Tuesday night. Frelick said he's pretty bruised up, but X-rays came back negative, so he should be considered day-to-day for now. Fantasy managers will want to check back on Thursday to see if he's available for the start of a series against the visiting Pittsburgh Pirates. The 23-year-old has held his own so far in his first 10 major-league games with the Brew Crew, going 7-for-29 with a home run, a double, four RBI and nine runs scored in 40 plate appearances. Jul 23 · ESPN Prospects Brewers Sal FrelickSal Frelick Being Promoted To The Brewers

Milwaukee Brewers outfielder and top prospect Sal Frelick is being promoted, according to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic. A corresponding move is not yet known but this is an exciting time for the Brewers and fantasy managers that have stashed Frelick this season. He's a consensus top-35 prospect and should make an immediate impact with his contact skills and speed. Frelick underwent thumb surgery back in April, which sidelined him for a few months and has likely put a damper on his counting stats. The 23-year-old is slashing .252/.344/.353 with two home runs, 19 RBI, and eight stolen bases in 195 plate appearances across two minor league levels this year. He's worth rostering if he's available in any 12-team mixed leagues.
